Hi there, did u ever figure this out? After all my searching you're the nearest match. I can only find software that allows you to send SMS from your PDA (bluetoothed to your mobile). have also found some Dialer software but that just dials your phone from your PDA and that' it.
I'll dig the links out if you're interested? let me know if you get the handsfree sussed out.
cheers

  • Having trouble using my 9720 connecting to car hands free kit

Hi, i am utterly frustrated with my company blackberry 9720 phone. The trouble i am having is with the car hands free kit, my skoda superb uses the bluetooth premium and cannot use the normal hands free setting like with my Iphone. The problem i am having is firstly connecting, i can only use the bluetooth premuim, which completly changes all the setting on the phone i.e turns the network off on the phone and then a screen pops up saying running SAP mode (must use an ittenna in car?), which in turn stops emails from coming in, i can stupidly write texts messages on my dash board and receive them and read them on my dash board while driving. So when i remove the keys from the ignition the phone does not put the phone back to its normal working settings, it keeps the network switched off i have to go to settings and turn the network on. Thirdly when i turn the car on the phone will not connect automatically it says cannot connect to mobile, but if i switch the phone off and on it automatically connects, but if by the grace of god it does connect an second time the phone crashes and resets and then connects five minutes later after reseting. forthly this is not an phone issue it is definatly software as i have been given an second 9720 and the fault is present on both phones.
    can anyone help

as I believe it a car bluetooth hands free can only be paired to one device . ie if you wish to pair with another device you would have to reset back to default and search again.... so does the cuve work if you reset the bury and pair again but then your other phone does not work with it ... this is logical as if we drove down a motorway we would pick up loadsa phones.... therefor we can only pair to one device

I think the easiest way to do this is to have the EyeTV app running in one user account and sent via HDMI to the TV, and use a separate user account for Screen Sharing. Both logins can be active at the same time and with Lion you can connect via screen sharing to which ever login you need.
With regards to the Mac video resolution changing, when it is not the current input on your AV receiver. This is 'normal', if the Mac sees no signal it drops down the a lower level. What you need is to buy a HDMI Detective Plus which tricks the Mac in to always seeing a signal and hence it will not drop down the resolution. See http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005
The Mac mini does have an IR receiver. This can be used with the EyeTV app, iTunes, and similar. Yes I believe EyeTV would run for prolonged periods quite happily, it is has been around for a long time and had most of the rough edges polished off. However one issue you will have to deal with is that it does not automatically update its program guide data. For this you might have to write or modify an AppleScript. Elgato support or their user forums will be a lot of help.
You can set EyeTV to convert recordings to an iTunes (Apple TV) compatible format and then delete them from EyeTV.
The HDMI Detective should solve your handshaking problems.

Try unpairing the iPhone 3GS from your Cadillac, then try pairing the iPhone 5 again.
You can find more troubleshooting info in this Apple doc -> iOS: Troubleshooting car stereo connections
Also, iOS 6 uses AVRCP 1.4 so you may need to update the reciever in the car to make it compatible with with all versions of ACRCP.

  • Bluetooth: 8310 won't complete pairing with hands-free kit in 2006 X-type Jaguar

My new 8310, v4.2.2.181 (Platform 2.5.0.35), recognises the hands-free kit in our 2006 Jaguar X-type ("Jaguar" shows on the Bluetooth paired devices screen), but the pairing won't complete through to connection.  Our dealer has confirmed that other phones will.  The Jag website confirms full compatibility with the 8310 to v4.2.2.146 (Platform 2.5.0.16), also "Latest Tested Version".  I'm asking Jaguar what the latter is.  But is there anything simple that I'm getting wrong here?  I've read the trouble-shooting pages in the manuals for the 8310 and the car, have tried disabling the encryption, and changed the "trust" option to Yes.  No result so far: help!

  • IPhone Map & Tom Tom iPhone hands-free kit

Hi everyone - can anyone help me with this teaser?
I recently bought a Tom Tom hands-free kit to use my iPhone 4S in my car.  I am having trouble with audio...  I have been able to connect the phone with the TT unit via Bluetooth, and after talking to the TT help-line, I chose this setting; Settings>General>Accessibility>Incoming Calls>Headset, but I am still having trouble.
The only audio I can hear via the TT speaker is the phone and Siri.  All the other audio is either muted (no Music at all!) or else comes over the phone speaker.  While it's a reliaf to be able to use the phone 'hands-free' the main reason I bought the unit in the first place was to use the turn-by-turn directions available from the Maps app, and the voice via the phone speaker is too quiet to be audible while I'm driving - does anyone know which settings need tweaking so I can hear the turn-by-turn voice via the TT unit speaker?

I have just spent a few quiet ( ) minutes going through settings, sitting in the car, and can report that the 'Tom Tom Hands Free' option appears both in the Map app and the Music app, but even though I can pop a tick against it, it don't come out of the TT speaker...

  • Missing some voice guidance with hands free kit

I have found that the first few seconds of any voice guidance message is missing when I have my phone connected to my BT hands free kit.  This is normally the key bit "in xxx yards turn..." or even the entire speed warning.  It doesn't happen using the phone speaker.
I am using the Nokia HF-200 hands free box and the 'problem' has occurred with maps 3.03, 3.04 and 3.06.  I have tried my X6-16G (RM-559, V 31.0.004)and a 5230 Navi and both behave the same.
Does anybody know if a different hands free kit would solve the problem, or are they all slow to start up.  You don't notice it with calls because the ring tone seems to 'wake up' the HF-200 before the voice message starts.

You're lucky even to get navigation commands via car speakers which defeats the latest Nokia devices with Bluetooth carkits.
Don't want to misinform you but think that CK-300 with CarMenu application upon individual device was one of the few to achieve this but seems development stopped.

  • Hands Free Kits

Has Nokia any plans for new hands free kits, I don't require the extra functionality of the CK-200, just a basic kit along the lines of the CK-7w or CK-100 - both now increasingly difficult (if not impossible) to source at a reasonable price?

I have a similar problem. Renaul Modus iMusic, only 4 months old. Hands free kit with 3GS showed contact names and numbers. iPhone 4 (tried with all iOS versions inc 4.1) pairs and works fine but I see no contacts at all, names or numbers.
Incoming calls work fine and I can manually enter a number and dial fine.
Renault state they use HFP 1.0 and Apple not compliant with this!

  • HT204387 Can't find my car hands-free kit

Hi, With iphone 5 I can't find my cars hands-free kit when searching bloutooth, but I can find it and pair it easily with my iPhone 3GS. My car is Cadillac SRX 2012

Try unpairing the iPhone 3GS from your Cadillac, then try pairing the iPhone 5 again.

  • New user with query about hands free kit

Hi, new user to the forum so please bear with me.
I have recently got a Nokia 6303 Classic  'phone and was thinking about buying a CK-100 hands free unit.
    Questions are:
    1/ Are they compatible?
2/ Do you have to use the external speaker supplied or can you use the car stero's speakers?
3/ Is the hands free unit easy to fit?
4/ Does the hands free unit automatically mute the car stero, or, is it necessary to buy a piece of equipment to do this?
5/ When fitting the hands free kit do any other connectors have to be brought to connect to the car stero? If so, are they readilly available?
The car the kit would be fitted into is a Mondeo ST220 with standard Sony 6 CD head unit.
    Thank you - Steve

The issue was all around Mobilme syncs and the solution to stop duplicates by choosing "all contacts" solved the problem here.

  • Parrot Hands-free kit and 6300

Having a bit of trouble with my new Parrot PMK5800 hands-free kit and my 6300. I can connect to the 2 together, but the Parrot asks for a voice tag from the 6300 for hands free dialling. I cannot seem to be able to transfer this. Have tried most things but no success. Any help ???

    Hello,
The Blackberry 8310 is fully compatible with the Parrot 3200 LS and phone book synchronisation is supported between these two devices. The revolving circle means the phone book is being downloaded, which could go on for a very long time depending on the size of your phone book. Check your phone book does not exceed the maximum number of contacts permitted by the Parrot.

  • N95 used with new Honda CRV Hands Free Kit

I'm using a N95 with Honda's built in Hands Free Voice Activated Bluetooth kit.
I've paired the phone with the car & everything works fine. When I press the call button on the stearing wheel & say the voice tag that I have recorded on the cars system the call is made through the car kit.
The problem is that you can only store a measly 50 voice tags on the car's system, which is not much use for business users, so other numbers have to be dialed from the phone it's self.
When you dial a number on the phone & press send it doesn't connect with the car kit & the call stays with the phone. I've discovered that once the call is answered you can select options on the phone & transfer the call to the blue tooth kit, but by the time you've managed that (& it doesn't always work first time !), half the people you've rang have put the phone down !
Am I missing something really silly here ?
How do I get the call when initiated from the phone to go through the car's system without having to press buttons.
I'd be very grateful if anyone has any ideas as the Honda garage & Honda themselves haven't !

    Hi
Your "work around" is the only solution I've been able to come up with as well - as you say - hardly hands free, but the only way you can get it to make a call that isn't in the cars 50x misely voice tag memory.
Have you noticed also that when you first start the car, it hardly ever understands your first voice comand ? It's as if the car has to load the software before it can work. It's the same with voice commands for the audio, climate control & sat nav - I think the woman behind the dash board falls asleep & has to be woke up every time you set off !!! Once you've used it once she is back up to speed till you switch off & re-start the engine.
With regard to the noise levels in the car & people not hearing you above 40 mph I have exactly the same problem, my garage have changed the mic on my car kit & it made no difference at all !!! I also had a modification made to the wing mirrors to cut down the wind noise (have you had this done ?) but every day someone tells me I sound as if I'm speaking from the bottom of a pit !!!
Other car kits I've had over the years have worked fine with good clarity both ways & cost a lot less.
It could be such a good system with just a few tweeks !!

  • New car has Nokia hands free kit, how do I find ou...

Bought a second hand car at auction and it happened to have a nokia hands free car kit, I would like to buy the phone that fits it but I don't know which model it uses.
There is no model number visible on the cradle or anywhere else.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers!

You will have to remove the screw hiding behind the nokia badge in the middle of the cradle to remove the cradle, then you can look at the part number on the rear, otherwise you can look at the nokia accesories page to see if you can identify the cradle.
