Using nsMail email server, works fine in ns email tool, as of yesterday TBird 31.3.0 can not send or receive email. Have verified all setting for IMAP/SMTP OK.

Will not retrieve incoming emails. When I try to send one, error message appears: "Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent using SMTP server for an unknown reason. Please verify that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again, or contact your network administrator." I have checked all IMAP/SMTP settings and they are fine. I can receive and send emails to the same address via the email server provider's email tool. Using nsMail, WIndows8, Firefox, latest version of TBird. All worked fine two days OK and have made no known changes to computer installation since.

    Try these basic troubleshooting steps first
    1. Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage (try any webpage). If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you are unable to load a webpage,follow these troubleshooting steps.
              - Try to use an alternate Internet connection if available:
                        1. Try a different Wi-Fi connection
                        2. If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fiand turn off Wi-Fi.
                        3. If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
    2. Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
    3. Restart your iOS device.
    4. Delete the affected email account from your device.
              - Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
              - Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
              - Add your account again.
    * If you are only able to use your email account while connected to your home network, this may be a limitation put in place by your email service provider. For further support, please contact your email service provider directly.

    Then my last suggestion is to Reset it, while connected to the BMW Audio.
    Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the  next step
    Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
    Then release the buttons
    Select your preferred language.

    That really sounds like anti virus scanning to me. Try rebooting your machine into safe mode with networking and see if it works correctly then.

    If your using BIS - Log into your BIS account and delete the email address and recreate it again - the email server details  are pointing to the wrong email server.
    If your using BES ,then the BES needs to get the correct Mail Server details - Delete the user form the BES and add them back, then reactivate the Handset.

    I bet you updated your iPad without using iTunes.
    No, you cannot uninstall iOS 8 and downgrade to iOS 7, but you can try reinstall iOS 8.
    I would suggest you to do it from DFU mode.
    Here are some things you need to know before proceeding:
    You WILL NOT lose your photos, messages, notes, reminders or anything on your device.
    If you choose to backup on iTunes, you will NOT lose your Apps. Anyway, if that happens someway, (it shouldn't happen, don't worry) you can download them later for FREE.
    Here's how to proceed:
    -First of all, as usual, do a complete backup of your device either on iCloud or your iTunes (i personally suggest iTunes. If iTunes asks to backup Apps, agree.)
    -Put your device in DFU [While the iPad is connected to iTunes, press and hold both the home and the power button. When the Apple logo appears, release the power button and keep holding the home button until you see the iTunes logo on the iPad screen.]
    -Once your device is in DFU mode, iTunes will automatically detect it as an iPad in recovery mode, so it will ask you to restore your iPad.
    -Click on Restore and accept iOS 8 terms and conditions to continue the installation.
    -Wait for iTunes to download and install the software.
    -Once your iPad restarts, you will be guided to the configuration of your iPad. When it asks you if you want to configure it as a new iPad or restore from a backup, choose the iTunes or iCloud backup depending on where your backup is.
    -Wait for iTunes to restore your device.
    You're done!
    Now test your device and let me know if everything works well!

    Hi Have you got WiFi or just a mobile signal If you can get a good mobile signal  but no wifi you need a WiFi dongle Not the plug in type the stand alone one you can run upto 5 devices at once You can get one on contact  or PAY& GO Ask someone to get one for you from shop go for the best  Mobile signal were you need to use it If you are in the UK EE on 4G are best.     I don't fully understand what the System Reset does but I've found that it cures many ills.  It's easy, quick and harmless:
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
    A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
    Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide.  Pay special attention to page 162.  Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.
    Finally,  the User Guide can be downloaded at no charge via iBooks and a less   comprehensive version of the Guide is included as a Safari bookmark.
