Using Pages 4.3 but also have 5.2
I want to use one of the resume templates but found there is a large space between the header (name, address, etc) and the body. The blank space is somewhere near 2 1/2 or 3 inches, which I see as too much wasted space. I would like to reduce it. My problem is I cannot find what controls that space, it isn't selectable and doesn't appear to be owned by the body. How do I modify this space?

The thin black line is just to show you the boundaries of the layout objects. It does not print.
You can add floating objects like Shapes, Textboxes, Tables and Charts. All of which can contain text.
In a Word Processing template you can insert Layout Breaks within the Document Body (the default text area) to further divide the layout with multiple columns and inset margins. This is a very powerful tool, that Adobe Indesign copied, and improved.
Pages' version of Layout Breaks works but can be quirky. I use it a lot, but often it is touchy feely to get it to do what you want.

Sync your iPhone to iTunes, and see if that does the trick. Also you could try a Soft Reset with no Risk to Data. Holding down both the Sleep button and the Home button until the Apple logo appears and then waiting for the Reset to bring you iPhone back to the lock screen. Are you trying to add the email at Settings>Messages>Send and Receive from (2 Addresses) your iPhone number and your email address?

I use LabVIEW 7.1 but I have some problem when, I use LabVEW to read the data from serial communication.

BUT it have some error message that : Error - 1073807202 occured at property node in visa configure serial port (instr).vi -> advance serial write and read .vi
this error code is undefined. no one has provide a description for this code, or you might have wired a number that is not an error code to the error code input.
I don't know why? please help me. thank you.When I copy that code into "Explain Error" I get: "VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF009E) A code library required by VISA could not be located or loaded."
You may have a bad install of VISA or the wrong version of VISA loaded. Try re-installing VISA. You can get the latest version from the NI support site: http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/webcategories/85256410006C055586256BBB002C0E91?opendocument&node=1....
Also ensure that you are not pointing the example towards a serial port that does not exist.

I Use the last FCX but I have a prob when I export (share) to dvd the result is over 4GB for a single DVD is about 6 to 9 Gb for a short film of 1h so what can I do to fix this thnks
These "Share" files are accessed and used by the Create Disc app.
Create Disc is buried in the FCP X package.
Applications>FCP X>Show Package Contents>Contents>Plugins>Compressor>Compressor Kit.bundle>Show Package Contents>Embedded Apps>Create Disc
I'm wondering if having the Compressor Application on a Mac makes a difference to having just FCP X on a Mac and the use of the Sharing feature.
I have Compressor loaded and find that DVD and Bluray burns from Share without any glitches as some are experiencing.

I have the latest update for Logic Pro 9.1.8, but also have in Applications a previous version of LP 9.0.2. Can I trash it? It has the circle with diagonal over the icon.
Yes, you can trash it - presumably the symbol that you can see is showing you that it won't run on your machine, anyway. I usually keep the previous version when I do an update in case of any problem (at least you can test if its the latest version that's responsible) but that doesn't apply here.

How can I use my Ipad in a hotel that only has ethernet connections? The Apple store clerk told me that travel express won't work in my hotel unless I also have a computer.
The issue with the Airport Express (or any of the Apple routers) is that you need the Airport Utility to configure it. Airport Utility works on OSX and Windows, but not on the iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch.) It will work, if you can preconfigure the Airport correctly ahead of time, but you'd be stuck if you did need to reconfigure while at the hotel.
You can use most any other router that is configured with a web page, which means you have a chance of configuring with Safari on the iPad. If you want something somewhat portable, I use a "travel router" made by D-Link. The current model is the DAP-1350. Other companies make similar travel routers, but I have no experience with the others. -
CS6 Creative Cloud but also have DVD
Good afternoon,
I have subscribed to Creative Cloud and have been a member for 5 months. I realise I can only register it on TWO machines but only use it on one when it is 'live'.
However, I also have an upgrade DVD from CS 5.5 to CS6. I tried loading this on to my 3rd Mac and when loading it is saying you already have CS6 on two machines which is quite correct.
How can I bypass Creative Cloud and use the copy I have of CS6 from DVD as a seperate entity on this particular Mac?

Which is wrong to can only have either Perpetal license or a CCM subscirption on one Adobe ID.
Contact Support to get this checked and get CCM subscription transfered to a different Adobe ID. -
I have two iPhones, a 5 which I currently use and an old 4 which I use as a second phone as I am overseas. I have connected both to iTunes. Does this cause any problems have two phones on the one iTune account, as far as updates, etc goes?

It won't cause any problem. Moreover, you will be able to share the purchases between both phones and have the same information by using iCloud, so you don't lose anything -
My IMAC has a 10.6 operating system and I am trying to learn how to use the cloud to store pictures and upload files etc from my iphone. Do I need to upgrade my operating system and how do I do that?
You need to upgrade = purchase Lion in order to use iCloud on your iMac. I use Dropbox with Snow Leopard. No need to upgrade.

when i purchased my ipad 2 , the technician at the store used his own apple id to download some applications on it ,
when i got home and created my own apple id , i had the following problem :
when i tried to update the applications that he installed , i am requiered to put his password that i do not have , even that i have changed the apple id in the settings , could anyone help me please:Sorry but you will need to Delete those Apps and Purchase them using your Apple ID.
Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID. -
I have the new version of pages but can't access any of my old pages Documents as I am prompted to get the new version which I already have.
Check if the older version of Pages is open. If it is, close it, and then try again to open the document. It happened to me a few times and this method worked.

Using 10.4.10 but still have Isync 2.0. How do I get Isync 2.2
I still have isync 2.0 despite updating my operating system to 10.4.10. Do you know how to update just isync to 2.2 without a major installation as then my Motorola v3 might sync again?

RatmanWe're actually at iSync release 2.4 at the moment…
You need to reapply the appropriate combo update for your specific machine processor type, but first: check to insure that your copy of iSync still resides—where it belongs—at the root level of your Applications folder. Moving iSync from its default location to some other location is the most frequent cause of update failures. [It's not nice to fool Mac OS X!]
For your specific processor type, the appropriate update is this Mac OS X 10.4.10 Combo Update (PPC) for PowerPC-equipped platforms. -

English or American? The two nationalities that seem to struggle with this.
It is not Spanish it is Latin placeholder text. All of which is irrelevant as you will select the text by clicking in it and replace it with your own text in your own language.

Have a .mp4 video and would like to use it to burn to a disc and be able to be played on a DVD player and a .AVI file what program should I use idvd?
iDVD may or may not work with them – depending what kind of MP4 and AVI each is.
Drag them into iDVD and preview them to check compatibility.
If there are issues, use MPEG Streamclip and re-wrap them as QuickTime.

Forgotten master password (but also have file-vault enabled)
Ok to clarify this is not me but my lovely dozy girlfriend and her Macbook...
I did read about deleted some library files somewhere but since she had filevault enabled i hear that method might not work.
To add insult to injury she also didn't make a back up.. So i ask everyone here, is it at all possible to fix this problem and retrieve the data without doing a re-install of Mac OS??
She will bake a cake for anyone who can solve this problem.

@Cathy, sorry my typo... delete not deleted. It was reference to a fix where a user on another forum suggested deleting 2 specific files located somewhere in the library folder. Apparently it removes the master password, however it does not work once filevault has been enabled.
