Using .pdf file as a hyperlink in AIR help

Hello all,
I am trying to a use a .pdf file as a hyperlink for some topic in AIR help file. When I try to look at my reference(hyperlink), I get a blank screen as a response. I have attached a screenshot as an example. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

There are some things that only work in an installed AIR help rather than preview, not sure what you are looking at here.
I am not at all clear on how you are trying to use a PDF as a link. Do you mean you have the PDF accessed from the help and the PDF has a link? Please explain.

You can download Adobe Reader from adobe.com. The Mac OSX uses its "reader" to open PDF files without the Adobe Reader. If you downloader adobe reader, it should open all PDF files. Hope this helps.

I am having trouble downloading PDF files to my new iPad air. Works fine on my other iPads with iOS7 and iOS 5.

My other iPads easily download PDF files but my new iPad air is stumbling and the browser shuts down.

I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well. This might be the common thread.

Using PDF files in books

Does anyone know how I can use PDF files when creating Iphoto books? I am doing various photo books and want to add a few image/design pdf's to the book.

Here's how to get any file into iPhoto as a jpeg file:
1 - open the file in any application that will open it.
2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
3 - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
NOTE: If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
4 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto.

I followed the FAQ troubleshooting and that didn't help

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

This may because the attachment is a winmail.dat file. I would recommend taking a look at the article below for more information. Note: the article is written for OS X mail, but does also apply to this situation.

Using PDF files for items rather than .png.

We have been looking into improving iBook production. We have a few books that feature elements that are comprise of a background image with text over the top. As the text isn't in an iPad-friendly font (I.e. not in iOS) and it doesn't have to be searchable. Previously, the items have been produced individually either in Illustrator or Photoshop. The main 'problem' with this is the plethora of file it creates, and the huge amount to time taken to apply style changes across all the separate items, save, re-import into iBA, and re-apply all the iBA-specific attributes.
In an effort to speed up production somewhat, we have been trying to create these items in InDesign, using style sheets etc to give standardised appearance across all the items, and then drag and drop into iBA. The advantage is that all the separate items are in one document, and all style changes can be instantly applied to all items instantaneously, saving time, space, and effort.
It places them as PDFs, and after unzipping the .iba file, the PDFs look fine, with pin-sharp text (as you'd expect, as PDF text would be vector data. Similarly, when you zoom in to the items in iBA, the text is still pin-sharp.
However, once the iBA is previewed on a iPad, the text goes a little blurry. As one of the fonts is a dot-matrix-type font, the effect is noticeable - all the dots blur together into a line.
Does anyone have any idea as to what is happening to the PDF between iBA and the iPad? Does it rasterise it at some point?

'What leads me think it would?', well the fact that it worked, and looks ok. The iBook previews fine and works fine on the iPad.
We initially came up with the idea when we 'unzipped' an .iba file (you know, changing the .iba extension to .zip, then unarchiving the contents), and found that iBA itself had created .pdf files for the full-screen photos which appeared rotated and shadowed on the iPad page, but were viewed as straight, unshadowed, images. (the rotated version was the iBA-created PDF file, the full-screen was the original .jpg we pulled into iBA). Naturally, we were surprised. So we started mucking about, and found that drag/drop from ID worked, and looked OK.
As an update to my original post, it appears that the difference in quality was due to the fonts used. Once we opened the .PDFs within the .iba file, we converted the text to outlines, resaved the .pdfs, changed the unzipped folder back to an .iba file, and the font now looks great.
BTW, Is it me, or were you being snippy?

Are you using a mouse, or a trackpad on a laptop? Either way, your cursor is usually an arrow, right? And presumably it's working/moving MOST of the time, otherwise you wouldn't be able to do anything?
For example, can you move the cursor arrow to the "Annotate" tool to click on it and go into Annotate mode? If so, can you click on the text tool? If so, does the cursor change to a crosshairs? At what point can you NOT move the cursor around the screen?

Unable to email the keynote presentation to using pdf file or PPT file. It seems went though, but never got the email

I just purchased the keynotes add from Ipad Mini last night. My daughter created the presentations from keynotes app and was going to send an emails to her teacher. This is for her school project, however, when we tried to email as ppt, it gave us an error message that you can not saved or email, so we tried send it as pdf file, it did not give me an error message, however, I never got the email either from last night since I cc myself when we tried to send the project to her teacher and I tried it this morning and did not got through either. Am I missing something here?? Please help, she needs to turn in her project by today and she is already late with her school work.... Please advise...........

Mail merge using PDF file and Excel spreadsheet

How do I mail merge an existing PDF file (the template) with a 50-record text file exported from Excel to create 50 PDFs? I am using Adobe Acrobat XI. I could not find anything under TOOLS | FORMS that would allow me to do a mail merge. I was able to import the text file but it only produced one record.
Since this is a pre-designed legal document, I do not want to recreate the PDF file in MS Word, then perform the mail merge in Word to PDF.
From my online research it seems I will be forced to purchase an Acrobat plugin to perform this simple task.
Am I simply overlooking something?

EMail Attachments using PDF file

Hi guys
I have developed an application using Oracle 8i and forms 6i. There is a report developed in 6i repors and saved as PDF format. this file I have to send as attachemnts to the employees.
Is there any way to send PDF file as attachemnts using forms 6i.

The easiest way (and OS independent, so you don't need Outlook or blat or something like that) is to send the email and attachment from the database. Package utl_smtp won't let you do that, but with Java mail you can. So, after you generated your report, you can mail it using Java mail.
Everything is described very clearly in note 120994.1 on Metalink (How to Send E-mail With Attachments from PL/SQL Using Java Stored Procedures).

I am a medical student have been using preview on my MacBook to take notes on pdf file presentations for several years. I am looking to getting an ipad and want to be able to transfer all these .pdf files over to be able to access on the iPad. How to use pdf files inside swf

Hallo. I need a little help. I need to load pdf file inside my swf. I can just open a new browser page and load there my pdf file but first i go outside my swf and second users have to get adobe reader in order to read files. Is there a way to load a pdf file inside my swf ??.. I know that flashpaper is doing that but it is not a free program.. Is there any other solution for doing that without paying or do i have to use flashpaper absolutely??

That's not good at all. Seems like something's broken with the Adobe PDF Reader. Try some other PDF files and if these will not open, too, then you may need to reset the phone.
As for the file associations - there's no built in tool. You may try Y-Browser (Settings -> Associations):

But it will generally not show default ones. It will let you though, to re-set the associations. As said, though, seems that something's wrong with the PDF Viewer.
