Using Presenation Variables in the Report fields

Hi,
I have a report and the report format is column a (01/01/2012-01/31/2012), Column B (02/01/2012-02/29/2012), Column c (amount),Column d (amount),Column e (dimnesion)
these are my report columns.column a and column b are dateranges.one is lastmonth and the other one is current month.we put this report in the dashboard.I have 4 presentation variables 2 for last month begin and end dates and 2 for current month begin and end dates.so whenever i change thses variables column a and column b values also should changes according to the dates in the dashboard prompt..Is this possible??

Hi,
I am sorry, If I could not get you correct, but I think you would like the starting date in the reports to be between "startdate beginning" and "start date ending" variables. In this case, you can always put a filter on the column in the report to be between these two variables.
Hope this is what you are looking for.
Thank you,
Dhar

  • Send email from workflow using a variable in the to field in SharePoint Online (Office 365)

    I have a simple sharepoint workflow that sends and email to users.  I know that the mail portion works because I can put a user's email address in the to: field and it sends fine.  If I use a string variable with the email address, I get a workflow
    error.
    Simple steps to repro for me:
    Create a new workflow in SPD  (I have tried a list workflow and site workflow)
    Create a workflow variable named email.
    Set the variable to an email address where the user is in the site
    Send email and do a variable lookup to the email variable just set.
    The workflow just hangs in this scenario
    I do get an error:

  • SCEP - Using a variable in the Subject field

    Hi
    Has anyone out there successfully installed a SCEP certificate on an iOS device using a unique identifier of some sort in the subject field? We are using iPhone configuration utility but ultimately want to use Apple configurator.
    We can install the certificate, but cannot get the common name (CN) to populate using something like the device serial number or UDID. We have tried variations on CN=SERIALNUMBER, CN=%SERIALNUMBER%, CN = %$UDID%, CN = $UDID$ but it just populates the field with the string itself rather than the device serial number or UDID.
    I know others have posted similar issues on this forum:

  • Variable in the report agent.

    Hai All,
       I have used a variable in the report agent to run a query in the background. The variable I used already incrementing dates automatically when the report is executed on the web.  Do I need to make anymore other setting in the report agent for this variable or Is it going to be fine.
    Thanks, Vijay.

    Anil, Ravi,
      Thanks for your advise. When I created the variant in the webtemplate the date range is feb1 to feb28. But the Date range for the query changed to march1 to march1.
      After I scheduled the package, when run rsrt with statistics for FEB I see all 0's in the statistics and for march I see some count in the statistics. Will this be okay? When run using the process chain this will take right dates?.
      In the Agent settings, under filtering I am using 'No Filtering'. If I click on 'explicit thru query rslt then there is variant. Do I need to take this route?
    Thanks for your help in this regard, Vijay.

  • Query Stripping not working properly when using variable in the report

    We have issue with WEBI document that have query stripping enable.
    Once the query stripping enabled there is no data return in the report.
    We have investigate on the problem, the query stripping function are notable to retrieve objects that indirectly used in the report
    as we have
    many variable in the reports.
    Ex.
    Var1 = object1 + object2
    Var2 = Object3 + Object4
    Var3 = Var1 + Var2
    Var4 = Object1 + Object2 + Object3 + Object4
    If we use only Var3 in the report, the object1,2,3,and 4 will not be
    retrieve.
    But if we are using Var4 in the report, the object1,2,3,and 4 will be
    retrieve properly.
    Please let me know is it a by-design behavior, if yes please share points on it

    Hi Amit,
    Thank you for response, however i already had alook on that VIdeo and it tells us about the basic enabling of query stripping.
    But my question is when we have a Variable in a report which is dependent on the other two variables it gives me #error so is it by design or not.

  • How to use customer exit variable in the report

    Dear All,
    i want to use a standard customer exit variable in the report properties.
    In the Bex Query Designer right hand bottom you will find two buttons "Properties" and "Task". Click on task you will get different option. Choose properties from there and then select "variable sequence tab".
    I need to add a standard variable there. How can i achieve it?
    Appreciate your early help.

    You need to add variable to corresponding charctertic then you can get that varaible for sorting the sequence....
    If 0CUST is the varaible then you need to assign it 0CUSTOMER then 0CUST will be available for the sequence.

  • Userexit variables in the report designer

    I want to use a query with userexit variables where 1 variable is derived from another variable in the report designer. This does not seem to work, behavious seems to be as follows:
    1) when variables are derived from other variables they are filled in step 2 of the variable userexit. Variables filled in step 2 have no effect on the query: everything is selected
    2) if the derived variables are mandatory, they even cause a dump saying the variable is empty
    3) if variables are filled in step 1 (thus before the selection screen), they do impact the selection. The problem is that step 1 is too early to have access to the other variables.
    How can I derive variables from other variables when using the report designer?
    Thanks in advance for your answers,

    Hi,
    For example if you want use value from variable ZVAR_02 (manual entry) in variable ZVAR_01 (user exit) you can use similar code:
    DATA: L_S_RANGE TYPE RSR_S_RANGESID.
      DATA: LOC_VAR_RANGE LIKE RRRANGEEXIT.
      CASE I_VNAM.
       WHEN 'ZVAR_01'.
        IF I_STEP = 2.
          READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
               WITH KEY VNAM = 'ZVAR_02'.
          IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
            CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
            L_S_RANGE-LOW      = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW.
            L_S_RANGE-SIGN     = 'I'.
            L_S_RANGE-OPT      = 'EQ'.
            APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
            EXIT.
          ENDIF.
        ENDIF.
    ENDCASE.
    Variable ZVAR_01 shouldn't be ready to input.

  • Summing up the report fields

    Post Author: jehanzeb
    CA Forum: Formula
    Afternoon all,
    Just wondering how can you summarise a report field. I have the total number of jobs field which displays the total number of jobs any person has done at any one time. Now in the report I want to add up all the jobs which has been done by all users.
    Example:
    Name - Total Jobs
    James- 10
    Andrew-11
    Total = 21
    The above example shows the total number of jobs both (James and Andrew) performed.
    How can I achieve this?
    *I  have tried the formula field - however, it says "This field cannot be summarised".
    Formula used " DistinctCount ({#Total Jobs}) "
    Please help!
    Many thanks
    Regards

    Not to worry I have resolved the issue.
    I had to create the summary (E) type icon and choose the fields to summarise the report field. Sometimes you miss obvious things!! :-D
    anyhow it has been fixed so closing this thread.

  • Can you use information obtained in the report to use as output?

    I am wondering if in XI R2 or 2008 you can use infomation obtained in the report generation to use in output parameters?   For example, if my results come back with email addresses, can I then use them to email to?

    There are several export options.  But how about this solution:
    Insert a text object on the detail line with the text "E-mail: ".  Then drag the data field of the company/person's name and drop it in the text at the end.
    Then, right-click the text, and select "Format Text...".  Then click the Hyperlink tab and select "An EMail Address".  Below, for the e-mail address, it says "mailto:" but you don't want a static address.  So click on the formula button on the right.  For the formula, enter "mailto:" +
    When you run the report, you'll see "E-Mail: John Doe" but when you click on it, it'll open a mail message window with the address as the recipient.  (The names of the victims in this example have been changed, to protect the innocent   )
    I'm sure there are several other ways to accomplish your goal, but without more info on your situation, I can only guess that this is the best one.

    i didn't read a lot of your 2nd paragraph, but it seems like the password is the issue, right?
    do a true clean install
    reboot your machine and hold down command+option+r, you should see a spinning globe - if you don't see the globe or anything that reads internet recovery, shut down and try again
    at menu, chose disk utility and once there, find your HD on the left side, select the physical name and erase it as mac journaled
    exit disk utlity
    at menu, choose install OSX
    this time, when it asks for a password just hit continue, it will let you complete without a password
    you should be able to get into your laptop, now figure out what password you'll be able to use with your kb issue

  • Using a variable as the comparison set with the IN clause

    I am attempting to use a variable as the comparison set in an IN clause:
    if <var> is not null and <var> in (<variable>) then ...
    if <var> = 'X' and <variable> = 'X','Y' this statement evaluates to FALSE. If, however, I write
    if <var> is not null and <var> in ('X','Y') then ...
    the statement evaluates to TRUE. Is there a way to force evaluation of a variable prior to executing the statement?

    Kumar
    That is neat trick and an good example of lateral thinking. However, there is a slight problem with it in that this is true:
    instr('1APC2', 'APC')
    whereas this is false
    'APC' IN ('1APC2')
    However, it did inspire me to produce an even neater trick:
    create or replace function my_in
    (in_value IN varchar2, in_string_list IN varchar2)
    RETURN boolean
    AS
    larray_string DBMS_UTILITY.uncl_array;
    ln_count INTEGER;
    return_value BOOLEAN := FALSE;
    lv_comparator VARCHAR2(4000);
    BEGIN
    DBMS_UTILITY.comma_to_table(in_string_list, ln_count, larray_string);
    FOR rownum IN 1..ln_count
    LOOP
    IF larray_string(rownum) = in_value
    THEN
    return_value := TRUE;
    EXIT;
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    RETURN return_value;
    END;
    Note that the in_string list parameter must be COMMA separated, and spaces will be treated as values. Hence
    declare
    lb boolean;
    begin
    lb := my_in('APC', 'DEF,APC,ABC');
    if lb = TRUE
    THEN
    dbms_output.put_line('FOUND');
    else
    dbms_output.put_line('NOT FOUND');
    end if;
    lb := my_in('APC', 'DEF, APC, ABC');
    if lb = TRUE
    THEN
    dbms_output.put_line('FOUND');
    else
    dbms_output.put_line('NOT FOUND');
    end if;
    end;
    produces the following output:
    SQL> @tstrun
    FOUND
    NOT FOUND
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

  • Creating variables in Process Flows and using thse variables in the filter

    Hi,
    I am new to OWB and in learing stage. Need to information.
    *1. as to how pass/create/use variables to OWB mapping ?*
    *2. Creating variables in Process Flows and using thse variables in the filter operator of the OWB mapping?*
    *3. Other mechanisms of how to create/use variables within OWB mapping itself ?*
    can you please provide the above details and guide me / help me in this regard.
    Thanks,
    skms.

    1. Add parameters to your mapping using the MAPPING INPUT PARAMETER from the pallette.
    2. Add parameters to the START operator in the process flow. Bind the process flow parameter to the Mapping parameter.
    3. May be appropriate to use CONSTANTS instead of parameters.

  • Use a variable for the integer in Fmt offset modifier

    I'm trying to pluck values out of a long array of comma separated string
    values.
    I'm doing this within a loop and would like to use the loop interation to
    point to the starting point in the array.
    Here's what I have working so far:
    Fmt (scratch,"%s<%s[i0t44]",transmitBuf);
    Works great.
    Now if I go in and change i0 to i3 then my modifier doesn't start looking
    for a comma "," until after the 3rd character. Still working great. However....
    If I try to use an integer called "loop" instead of the literal offset
    value it blows up:
    Fmt (scratch,"%s<%s[iloopt44]",transmitBuf);
    Is there a way that I can use a variable for the integer portion of the
    offset modifer?
    Thanks All!

    Hi Roberto
    Thank you. I actually need to use a symbolic value for the interger section of the modifer vs. the specifier.
    So, in my example:
    Fmt (scratch,"%s<%s[i0t44]",transmitBuf);
    I want to make the following substitution (Assume z=0)
    Fmt (scratch,"%s<%s[izt44]",transmitBuf);
    Some background...
    I'm looking to loop index through a long CSV string array (transmitBuf) that looks like this:
    1,PEEP,7,6,,,21,20,
    So on my first loop when I use the following:
    Fmt (scratch,"%s<%s[i0t44]",transmitBuf);
    scratch = "1"
    ... Perfect. I now do a string length of scratch (which equals 1)
    and add 1 to it, I'm ready for my next loop which would
    literally read like this:
    Fmt (scratch,"%s<%s[i2t44]",transmitBuf);
    However, I want to put this inside a loop, so I would like to
    increment a variable (++z) and use the following:
    Fmt (scratch,"%s<%s[izt44]",transmitBuf); ---- Ka-Boom!
    So it's the use of the variable in the modifer that blows up
    the Fmt command.
    appreciate any thoughts...
    Thanks
    Mark
