Using registrar for Muse

Hello Adobe community, I was just wondering if have to go through registrar to get a domain for my muse site? Or can I get it somewhere else?

Why am I suddenly getting the dreaded "ID = 5000" error with Illustrator 5.5? I'm only using CC for Muse.

I only use Adobe Creative Cloud for Muse... no other option. I have CS 5.5 and am suddenly getting the "you do not have enough access privileges" error and can't save any illustrations. What the hell is going on with Adobe?

You could try to reinstall using the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger):
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

I have now used Reflow for 2 client prototypes and here is what I have found.

First, I can see Reflow being an incredible prototyping tool if Adobe steps up and makes it a useful tool for production and not just another creative program to help designers build for the web. That's what Muse is for.
So here is my wish list.
Reflow needs to be able to have more control over the DOM elements. By that I mean, we should be able to have a layer based approach (similar to what you can see in Macaw) to move elements around from "box" to "box" (also, can't we just call them "divs"). Nesting is crucial. Also, what's up with all the IDs in the published files? We should be able to name and create classes for these elements before it publishes. Also, support the basic HTML tags for users to control.
On that note, shared elements should have one style sheet instead of a style sheet for each page.
Also, elements should be able to be saved to a library for use on multiple pages. It is a nightmare now if you create an element on a page that needs to also be placed on other pages. You have to recreate it on each page as of now.
Support for common CSS frameworks would be an amazing idea...just sayin.
As for type...Edge fonts and Typekit are great but we all know that there are many other font libraries out there such as Google fonts. Also, being able to use your own @font-face should be an option.
I think the overall goal would be able to use the files produced as a starting point for production code. As it stands right now, the code that is produced will require more time to format properly than it would be to build from scratch.
I know Reflow is not meant to be a Dreamweaver or Brackets, but it could really help set the stage for development in those programs. It can improve the workflow of web development vs. just being a "cool new app". It has real potential and I hope it gets the love that it deserves.

Are you looking for more than that? We're looking at ways to expose the elements panel in a better way, that should be coming soon.
As for stye sheets all being in one, we're debating this. Since we don't know everything you want to do page-to-page, we're holding off making this leap until we can begin cleaning up what CSS we already give you. (see last answer)
Common library elements: yup, we want this too. It's on our backlog.
Frameworks: yup again, on our backlog. Are there frameworks you would prefer? We don't wanna play favorites unnecessarily. We don't know how it might be prioritized, since we've got lots of features to get to.
Additional fonts: yup for this one too, we have it on our backlog to tackle. As a note, most google fonts are available in the Adobe Web Fonts.
Output: We're actively working on improving the CSS output from Reflow. We cannot promise perfect production quality, but the issues you raise are all ones we're eager to minimize.

Make animated rollover in Flash for Muse buttons

Hello.
I am new to Adobe Muse, but more familliar with Flash. I am also new to HTML.
I am wondering if it is possible to make a rollover animation in Flash to play as a rollover animation for buttons in Muse. I would like it so that when the mouse curser hovers over the button, it plays a simple animation of appering and dissapering stars over the text. I have heard of Adobe Edge, but I am not really familiar with it, so if there is any specific setup for a Flash rollover animation e.g. HTML5 Canvas or whatever, please let me know. Also, I am wondering if a HTML5 canvas Flash animation will play on phones and tablets, or if anything made with Flash using whatever setup, will even work on phones and tablets.

You may need to create the fully function button with all states and mouse interactivity in Flash itself and then place it in Muse and apply a link to it.
Since buttons with states in Muse use background fills which can only be certain image types like PNG, JPG, etc. Since you can't apply a SWF as a CSS background fill, it won't be possible to use it for one of the states of the button.

Can I create a "stage" in Animate and use it in Muse to create a responsive site?

I want to use Muse to build my site and Animate for some elements. I need a responsive site. Muse does not do that but Animate does. That is crazy! How can I combine them? There has got to be a way. Someone smarter than I has figured it out I am sure, I am hoping they chime in.

You are probably right but I was looking for the ease in creating only one and letting it do the work.
Now that I think about it....my site will have video embedded and a link for Ustream. That won't work on a mobile device if it is part of a responsive design will it?

Paid membership for Muse no longer works since recent update

I have a paid membership for Adobe Muse, but after a recent update Adobe only allows me access Muse through a 30-day free trial. I am occasionally requested to enter a serial number for Muse, but cannot find any reference to this in my past emails. How can I overcome this ongoing issue?

Please try the steps below depending on the operating system,
Windows
Click on the "Start" menu. Select "All Programs" and then "Accessories"
Right-click on "Notepad" and select "Run as Administrator"
Click "Continue" on the "Windows needs your permission" dialog
When Notepad opens, click File and select Open
In the filename field type the following:C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
If any entries in the host file include keywords such as "adobe," delete those entries. These are used for Adobe Licensing.
From the "File" menu select "Save" after making changes
Restart Muse
Macintosh
Click on the "Finder" icon. Select the "Applications" folder
Open the "Utilities" folder and select "Terminal"
Type the following:sudo nano /etc/hosts
Enter the OS user's associated password when prompted
If any entries in the host file include keywords such as "adobe," delete those entries. These are used for Adobe Licensing.
Press control+o to save the file
Press control+x to close the file
Restart Muse

Personally I find this consistent:
Categories and Forums are two different things, so the Categories link is on a different level

I don't know, but personally I jumped on the "Categories" new features at once, found them very well designed and helpful, and am now very disappointed that they've been taken "temporarily" away.

Using Form in muse site

I have a muse site that is not hosted on the adobe business catalyst so the form widget doesn't work for me.
I was wondering -- Could I develop a acrobat form for a webpage and would it export okay from my muse file
to html file and then I could upload to my hosted account? If so, would the configurations set up in the acrobat
form stay in tack on the export to html or would I need to code or configure for my hosted site?

You need to get the Embed code from Jotforms and yoo can insert the Emed code by clicking on Object>Insert HTML in Muse. NAd in the Edit HTML Window you can insert the HTML code you get from Jotforms.
To get the Embed code from Jotforms, you need to click on Setup and Embed tab at the top of the form in Jotforms and then click on Embed form button at the top in the toolbar.
From the window that comes up, you can get the Embed code and use it in Muse.

(I have successfully used the FTP module many times, my question refers to SFTP or FTPS protocols, not currently supported, an honestly, pretty necessary). Hi, I have purchased a month by month subscription to creative cloud to use Adobe Muse. I only want to use it for a month though. I have not used it yet but I need to know when my 'month' actually starts - I assumed it would start when I initiated the program and was ready to use it!?
I have downloaded the program (Adobe Muse) and left it - assuming it would only begin my 'month use' when I started up the program (as in a 30day trial)
My account is due to automatically renew my subscription soon (which I didn't realise either - I figured I paid once for a month use!) and I will be charged for another months use now - however, as you can understand by now, I want it to start when I want to use it! - not as soon as I have purchased a month by month subscription (hope that makes sense)
What are peoples thoughts on this and is there anything I can do allowing me to activate 1 months use for one months paid for subscription?
My fear is that I will have paid for one month that is neraly over and I havn't even used the program yet!?
Please advise!

Have a look at our Widget gallery here - http://muse.adobe.com/widget-gallery. There are quite a few third party sites as well like musegrid.com, muse-themes.com etc. that offers widgets available as .muse files in order to be able to grab the design or use the downloaded file as a starting point for your site.
You might also want to participate in Muse beta program (details on forums home page) for upcoming features in Muse 7 that might be of your interest.

And for what it's worth, my choice would be (and is) LibreOffice, which I've used for about a year with nearly complete satisfaction. Last time I tried it three or four years ago, OpenOffice had the ugly, unrefined appearance of a Windows application; it had no Mac interface at all. That might actually be comforting to someone coming to the Mac from Windows, but as a 27-year Mac user, I hated it. I don't know whether OO has gotten a facelift in the intervening years.
The intermediate step between OO and LO was NeoOffice, which I used for several years. It was OpenOffice with a Mac face, and I liked it well enough. LibreOffice is its further evolution, more compatible with the latest MS Office files.
