Using Substitute Items at Job Order Level

dear gurus,
i have client requirement that is:
Semi-Finish Product : A Produce by XYZ CO.,
Packaging Material : B Procured from ABC CO.,
Same Packaging Material is Procure by : B1(as per inventory) Procure from MNO CO.,
now at BOM Level
finish Product : Z consist of
A Qty: Each 1
B Qty: Each 1
B1 Qty: Each 1 (substitute of B)
now i want whenever the Job Order is made of Item A then system should ask which item of B to be used. i know substitute item executes when primary item is zero then substitute item is used now i need to use it in different manner system should ask which item to be used.
is it possible or not...

You are talking about customization here.
I dont think Oracle provides this as out of box functionality if you define B1 as substitute of B.
Oracle Master Scheduling/MRP reports these substitutes on some planning reports, such as the MRP Detail Report. Oracle Work in Process
does not consider substitute items in its pick lists. Planning bills and model, option class, and planning components cannot have substitute components.

    Dear Experts,
    In VOV4, We maintain the Item Category Determination for sales use.
    I know that the following are the elements used in determining the item category:
    1. Sales Document Type
    2. Item Category Group
    3. Item USAGE
    4. Higher Level Item Category
    Now, My Question is,WHERE Exactly we use this "Item USAGE" in the transaction level.
    Is any one Having any IDEA where do we use this ITEM USAGE at transaction level ?
    Please be so kind and guide me finding its location in transactions.

    Hi,
    Taking an example for Batch management process.
    In Batch Management process from the SD perespective when we do delivery we have TWO Item Category that will be displaying in the Delivery Document.
    So there is a parent line item and then a sub line item.  Sub Line item will have the batch number and the quantity. There in order to determine these two line item from the Item category determination purpose this USAGE come into play.
    ITEM Category define - How you will control the behaviour of the material . Now for batch management process and the batch managed Material behaves in a different way.
    So this usage is used to map such bussiness scenario.  Frequently used are PACKING Scenario , Batch Management and Free goods.

  • Item Category check on Order Level

    Dear Friends!
    I want to restrict the item category on order level or disable the fields so that, no one can change the item category.
    Please share your experience!

    Hello Anwar,
    The Item category is determined using certain criteria defined in the transaction code VOV4. Here maintain the sales document for which you want a particular item category, Item category group from the material master and the item category that you need in the sales order. DO NOT maintain anything in the manual item category filed. If this is maintained then the user will be able to change the item category at the sales order level.

  • Block item for short dated item in sales order

    We are using batch determination at sales order level.I want to hold the sales order based on shelf life expiration date for a batch. We are using FEFO- First expiry First Out strategy. We are planning to use user status profile to block the particular line item from getting delivered. Please guide me to acheive this. Thanks in advance.

    Kindly deactivate the check box Not Modifiable of the corresponding partner function by selecting Partner determination procedure - Partner Functions in procedure
    Do this change if you have maintained partner proc. for sales document type or item category in
    SPRO - Sales and Distr. - Basic Functions - Partner Determination

  • Chagne GL of an Item in Purhcaes Order

    Hello Gurus,
    I have to change a GL account code in a Purchase order.  By default inventory post by Item Group as well as in Item master.
    I want to change a GL code for a item in a Purchase Order. 
    I  changed to set GL by item Level in Item Master but no luck.  Can you tell me what should i do to make it work?

    So, i can not change GL of an Item at Purchase order level.  This is my situation..
    We are a manufacturer.  When we order a new products some qty of the new items go for QC and rest will go in to
    inventory.  We have a separate account for QC and that is an expense account.  I don't want to put QC items in to the
    inventory.  So when i enter a purchase order for items XYZ...100 QTY go to inventory account and 5 QTY i want to put it through QC inspection account.  How do i change account for those 5 items? 
    I have set that particular item in Item Master as a Item Level, but still no success.

    Hi,
    The sub-contracting process is not mapped with Standard SAP B1. For this, you will need to purchase or develop the Add-on.
    But there is one workaround -
    You can show it in B1 as in-house production at vendor location & pass Service bill.

  • Sales order item ontime delivery status at order level in Cube

    Hi Guys,
      We have a requirement, currently we have sales order item information in cube where we have some thing called OTD status
    this status is based on actual GI date and requested date so we have 3 staus at each sales order item level ontime, early, late
    but now the requirement is to change the order status either to ontime or late and this status should be at order level instead of
    order and item level, if any one item in order is late then the whole status of order should be late and if on time or early then it
    should be ontime, is there any why to achive this except adding new character in cube or creating new object in system???
    or if not by just adding new character in cube like order status by remodeling and populate data with customer exit?? pls note
    that we are not using 2lis_11_VAHDR we are using 2lis_11_Vaitm only.

    hi Chandra,
    We had similar kind of situation. but you need to implement the logic either by remodelling or creation of new object.
    What we did was as under.
    - Created new DSO with just Order no and the status.
    - After VAITM Delta load - by making it datamart we forwarded the data to that DSO and had the Status logic put up there so you dont need to change the existing model and you have the status at order level in other DSO.
    - this DSO was than included in Multiprovider for further reporting puprose.
    -This way you have very less things to manage and no need to further enhance exisiting model. This status logic may change in future and you have flexibility to do so easily in the system.

  • Deletion of line items from Sales Order using DTW

    Hi Experts
    I have 160 sales which all require a particular item needs to be
    deleted before they can be processed further.  It is ths same item on every order but
    doesn't appear at the same row number.  In some cases it may appear more than once
    on an order.
    The line item needs to be deleted based on the row numbers which could be different on every order (LineNum)
    Rather than have admin go through them 1 by 1 and delete the
    row is it possible I can use DTW to perform an update on each row to delete it?
    I'm not sure how to do this since I have only ever used DTW
    to add or edit.

    2. It is possible to delete the contents of an edit text field by using the character / or -1. However it is not possible to clear an entire row/line using this notation.

  • To add line items to sales order using User exit.

    I have to add line items to sales order .
    I have tried adding the code in usr exit move field _VBAP // Check VBAP and in savedocument _prepare . But in all the places I dont see it in VA01 . I can see it in the VA02 and VA03 . But I am not able to save the order as they have made the flooring term as mandatory field, and I am supposed to populate the XVBKD structure for this.
    Pls tell me whts the procedure like say , should I popluate the XVBKD / XVBAP / and should i use the bapi_SALES_ITEM_CHECK to populate the structures at the save_document prepare.

  • ASCP is not picking Substitute Item if Primary Qty of that item available.

    Hi, We have requirement of using the component substitution functionality while releasing Manufacturing Jobs through ASCP. or Use Substitute Components e.g ITEM A & ITEM B.
    ASCP should use 75% of Item A & 25% of Item B for completion of a Manufacturing Jobs (Pls note that both items have different Item Codes)"
    We can use the component substitution setup, item B can be used without any shortage of item A, Or in other words we require a functionality to allocate the percentage of supplies to manufacturing Jobs, e.g. with a setup, the supply will be distributed to item A and B for 75% and 25% to Manufacturing jobs & when we drill down in each Job order, both items will be used as 75% and 25% respectively.

    We have 2 Products Named Product X & Product Z, there are 2 Items (ITEM A & ITEM B) of different manufacturer but can be used in both Products A & Product B,
    Case 1: we have to use 75% of Item A in Product X & 25% of Item B in Product Z.
    Case 2: we have to use 75% of Item B in Product Z & 25% of Item A in Product X
    Further pls guide how we can setup the BOM to have for each unit of end item -> 0.75 usage of item A and 0.25 usage of item B

  • Planning Job Aggregation Level

    I am running a Background Job (Univariate Forecast Profile).  My Selection Profile excludes 3 single values can I still run the model at this level of aggregation "total" excluding those 3 single values.  Running the model at the Total should be more accurate than running the model for 22 single values and summing the forecast.  For some reason a forecast is no longer being produced?  I do get the warning Characteristic of selection not part of aggregation level.  I didn't notice any problems the last couple months.

    Ok, I believe I have resolved the issue.  I am going to summarize my previous process. 
    1.Created a Master Profile (forecast) for each Strategy I wanted to test.  I would use the same Master Profile even if I changed the Parameters in the Univariate Profile. 
    2.Used the same forecast Activity, changing each time I changed the Strategy.  Planning Job would remain the same.
    3.By creating a New Activity & New Planning Job my forecast model appears to be running correctly.  The only items I continue to select in the Planning Job Aggregation Level are SourceSystem and Product.
    It Appears the best methodology is to set up a separate Master Profile/Univariate Profile for each Strategy & set of Parameters.  A separate Activity & Planning Job should also be set up for each Strategy & set of Parameters.  This would also have to be done in order to add to an overnight (monthly) Process Chain.

    1.As soon as i open the form I want the last record in the job order database to be displayed
    2.When I click new record button I want an automatically generated job order id no to be inserted into the text item job order.( i know how to generate the number...but how to make it appear in the job order text item as soon as i click new record)

    ORDER_ID DESC
