Using weblogic console without jdk

Hi,
          We are not allowed to have compilers installed in our production environment. Thus we have to remove the jdk that is shipped with the weblogic installation and only use the jre. For our own applications we precompile the JSP pages at build time, so we don't need the jdk.
          The problem is that the weblogic admin console is also built with JSPs. Does anyone know if it is possible to tell weblogic to install the admin console with pre-compiled JSPs? Or is there another way to use the console whithout having the jdk installed?
          Best regards

Hi.
I need a bit more detail. What exactly do you mean when you say you have
multihomed the server with 5 different web sites? What is your configuration?
How are you connecting to a specific instance? With a java program or
browser? What URL are you using?
A single instance of WLS will bind to only 1 IP address using the
weblogic.system.bindAddr property. Are you starting 5 instances of the server,
each binding to a unique IP address? Having a multihomed machine does not mean
that a single instance of WLS is listening for incoming requests on all IP
addresses.
Thanks,
Michael

I have a mirrored machine and I am able to connect using the weblogic

please offer some help as to why this would be occuring.

    Assuming this is for 10g,
    You could use Oracle® Data Guard Broker
    Even you can download Grid Control software for free from Oracle site, you can't legally use it without license.

    Robert,
    # PlsqlDatabaseConnectString 192.168.80.128:7780:kate ServiceNameFormatThat number I've highlighted in bold, is the port number that your Oracle listener is running on, which usually by default is 1521. The fact you have 7780 makes me 'assume' you've tried to use the port number your HTTP server is listening on (I say 'assume' because the number you've used is so similar to what I'd expect the HTTP to be listening on).
    Hope this makes sense.

  • Cannot start application deployed using Weblogic console after stop

    Hello all,
    I have deployed an ear file using Weblogic console. If the app. is running, I can press stop and get the 404 error...after that I press start, and get a 503 error. Right after the app is deployed, and started, it always comes up fine. But when the application is running, I must click stop, start, stop, start to get the app to start.
    To start the app. I select, start and then "servicing all requests". To stop the app, I select stop and then "Force stop now". I have implemented a subclass of ServletContextListener to handle the start and stop. These methods do get called.
    The 503 did not cause any errors to be found in the weblogic.log, stdout.log or access.log.
    Does anyone have an idea how to start the app after it is stopped the first time?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Monitoring heap using WebLogic console

    Hi,
    With WebLogic 6.1 sp3 does monitoring memory usage using the WebLogic console
    cause memory to be used up? I have no beans deployed in my WebLogic server,yet
    the memory usage creeps up until garbage collected.
    Regards,
    Don

    If the console and the node are one in the same, then there is some
    overhead. To test it out in a different light, you set up a single node
    cluster (admin node plus 1 managed node). You should see a difference.

    Hi Don,
    I have seen similar behaviour and have been able to rationalize it in thefollowing
    manner.
    Weblogic Server periodically/constantly does internal house keepingactivities
    for its various subsystems i.e., the ejb Container, the Servlet Container,the
    JMS Subsystem etc..
    This causes the heap in the JVM to be slowly filled up until the nextgarbage
    collection kicks in.
    Without knowing the internals of how weblogic is implemented, I would bevery
    surprised if opening the console window affects the heap. I would be ofthe opinion
    that the management subsystem constantly gathers and publishes this data.The
    console would subscribe to this data. One way of empirically determiningthis
    would be to open a large number of consoles and check if the memoryconsumption
    rate increases.
    However, I wouldn't be too worried about this behaviour.

    http://host_IP:9001/console is the url i am using to access the console.
    As this is the production environment so we do not have permission or flexibility to create the new domains.
    and for your previous post i did search for the files on the DemoIdentity.jks, DemoTrust.jks and wsrpKeystore.jks.
    I am able to file the files at
    /apps/bea/software/bea1001/wlserver_10.0/server/lib/DemoTrust.jks
    /apps/bea/software/bea1001/wlserver_10.0/server/lib/DemoTrust.jks
    /bea/software/bea1001/wlserver_10.0/samples/domains/portal/wsrpKeystore.jks
    and i can see from the console that all the instance point to the same path mentioned above under KeyStore setting of weblogic console.
    One more point i want to add is that console is accessible for few of the users what few of them are not able to access intermittently. So if you know then please could you put some input from the network prospective whether firewall setting can play role in in this or not.

  • Custom Security Manager or Security Event Interception from WebLogic Console

    Hello,
    I have built my own Security Manager and implemented custom preference/property mechanism for every Principal, so when I use my Swing client to create new User and new Group, as well as addMember to a Group, I know what to do with those properies/preferences.
    Now, I want to use WebLogic Console to manage users and groups. I want to intercept events in my Security Manager about new User or Group creation or changing their memberships as Principals in order to handle their Preference/properties stuff myself...
    I wonder what should I "listen" in order to understand that someone has changed membership of Users or Groups or about creation of new User or Group?
    I use Weblogic Server 6.0 sp2
    serge

    Hi Daniel,
    > a custom security manager for the standard CM Repository
    And this dictates you indeed to use the old API, as the CMRepositoryManager itself is using the old API.
    The standard AclSecurityManager is implemented by com.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.generic.security.AclSecurityManager. If you check out Configuration - Content Management - Repository Managers - Security Manager, you will see "ACL Security Manager" (the one from above) and "ACL Security Manager (for new Manager-API)". This is implementing / using the new API, but needs also a RM using the new API.
    > java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: MySecurityManager.<init>
    This exception only complains about a missing constructor!? Have you implemented a default constructor?!
    > If this is the case, where can I find the API for IUMPrincipal? It is not included in any provided API because of deprecation.
    The methods of the old EP5 user management are more or less similar to the new UME, so using the old deprecated API should be more or less straight forward.
    There are also transformer methods for example to transform a "new" user object to an old EP5 one, see https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=235656&tstart=0
    Hope it helps

    Hi..
    You can use wlst or jmx to perform all security config etc.. same as if it were perfomred from the admin console..
    .e.g. wlst create user
    ..after connecting to admin server
    serverConfig()
    cd("/SecurityConfiguration/your_domain_name/Realms/myrealm/AuthenticationProviders/DefaultAuthenticator")
    cmo.createUser("userName","Password","UserDesc")
    ..for adding/configuring a role
    cd("/SecurityConfiguration/your_domain_name/Realms/myrealm/RoleMappers/XACMLRoleMapper")
    cmo.createRole('','roleName', 'userName')
    ...see the mbean docs for all the different attributes, operations etc..
    ..Mark.

    I could resolve the issue...The main points that needed to be done were
    1. Keep the 'DefaultAuthentication' to 'Optional/SUFFICIENT' from 'Required'.
    2. Create a 'Sequencer' table, if your jar is using it.

  • Call weblogic EJB without using weblogic.jndi.T3InitialContextFactory

    I am trying to call an ejb on a weblogic server without using weblogic.jndi.T3InitialContextFactory.
    The context retrieval is as follows:
    Properties table = new Properties();
    table.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory");
    table.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "iiop://localhost:7001");
    Context context = new InitialContext(table);
    return context;
    but when I run the client I am getting the follwing error:
    javax.naming.CommunicationException: Cannot connect to ORB [Root exception is org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE:   vmcid: SUN  minor code: 201  completed: No]
