Using workflow without OEM

Hi, I would like to schedule the processes made by the process flow editor, using the procedure WB_RT_WORKFLOW_UTIL that I think is the one that starts the process.
Does someone knows if I'm right and which are the parameters to pass.

Have you tried to get this to work using the script sqlplus_exec_template.sql? (found in the folder /owb/rpt/sql)

In order to use OWF without OEM, you can start the script owb/rtp/sql/oem_exec_template.sql in a sql session.
(Do the same as needed in OEM):
The mandatory parameters for the script are as follows:
- Runtime Repository Owner
- Target location
- Target Type: either one of the PL/SQL, SQL_LOADER, or PROCESS.
- Task name (name of the mapping/or process flow)
- System parameters (comma separated, enclosed by double quotes; comma and \ can be escaped by \)
- Custom parameters (see system parameters)
Example :
@oem_exec_template.sql MY_RUNTIME MY_WORKFLOW PROCESS MY_PROCESS "," ","

Update SharePoint metadata without update version using workflow

Hello ,
I have scenario, where I want to update a column in the document library using a workflow without effecting the version. I do not have CA access. I am trying to design the workflow in share point designer and have no permission to include custom code.

There is no out of the box way to do this. What you need to do is a SPListItem.SystemUpdate() vs doing an SPListItem.Update(). SystemUpdate is a way to update an item without firing off events, changing the modified by or modified time, etc...
However, this can only be reached through some sort of custom code.

|Running processflows without using Workflow??

Hello,
Is it possible to run prcoessflows without using workflow, i don't want to depend on workflow to run it on schedules, we will use another schedular technology to run processflows.
But, is this possible and is there any package created in OWF_MGR database by workflow for each processflow to use it in running ???

if you are going to use another scheduler then why not create a workflow within the scheduler for eg, if you using control M scheduler, then
all you go to do is prepare a workflow on ctrol M using the mappings from OWB and run it on control M. Either you create everything in owb and run in owb or just create the mapping in owb and run everything out of OWB why create a workflow in owb and run it on other scheduler. If you create a workflow in some other scheduler then you got better control over the processes running otherwise if will be difficult to handle errors and exceptions.
If you know what is process flow should look like then its much easier to create it on a scheduler if the software you are using is capable of doing it. I know for sure Control M and autosys are capable of doing it.

OWB, Oracle WorkFlow, and OEM

I am a DBA who has been charged with the task of integrating Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Workflow and OEM. Our source database is 9i but our Intelligence Team would like to use 10G. Does anyone know how I might install this? Should I install 10G, then create a database for OWB and Oracle Workflow? Any direction would be helpful.

Have you found an answer? If not read on.
We are also having the same combination.
1. Identify a target server (datawarehouse server).
2. Install 10G database on it (create a seed database with DWH option).
3. Install OWB
4. Install workflow server.
Then , make OWB setups :
1. Install a design repository, through which the team can carry out ETL in the OWB client.
2. Install a runtime repository which creates 2 users - a runtime repository owner and a runtime access user('connect as') user when deploying the ETL mappings.
3. Install a target schema using the runtime where the target objects - tables, dimensions and cubes will be created.
Then, in OWB, the team have to configure the source modules as 9i and the target modules as 10g.

Check if SWB_COND has been configured correctly to trigger the BID workflow without approval.
Test this workflow using SWUD and also, test the event triggering using SWU0.
If this is correct, workflow should be triggered.

depend on the document program more then anything else really
when ever I open a doc with word it make a history for undo and redo action file in the same dir
with bootcamp you only have read not write access to the osx partition so it would fail to be able to create that file
but if you can get word or whatever program you use to open the file not to place a temp file in the same dir
or use a program which did not make any type of temp file or used a program where the temp file would be located elsewhere where you decide it would work file

To send mail for cancelled jobs in SM37 to basis team using workflow.

I have a requirement to implement a workflow that will trigger a mail to basis team if there are any jobs with status Cancelled.
I found a business object type 'BPJOB' which has an event Cancelled. I tried to test if the workflow is triggered when a job is cancelled using transaction SWELS. But it doesnt trigger any workflow.
I tried finding a BADI/EXIT but there are no enhancements present for the transaction.
We already have a report which will trigger an email to the concerned basis person when the job is cancelled but the client wants it using a workflow.
I need to know whether there are any other ways to fulfill this reqt using workflow?

try using BPJOB_SMAN, which is an object for Schedule Manager.
check if it throws any event of BPJOB_SMAN.
If yes, then use a WF which would send/notify mail to BASIS.

How have you managed to get apps on your phone that are tied to a different and unknown AppleID?
If these apps were not purchased by you, having them is effectively software piracy and you should purchase them using your own AppleID if you want to keep hem.

Is there any way to use iPhoto without it moving my files?

I tried to use iPhoto ONCE last yer when I bought my Mac Mini, and it moved all my photo files around as it pleased, is there any way to stop it fro moving my files? I like the folder/file structure I have given my pictures and I do not need to have that managed.
At the moment I am using Picasa but I would like to know if it is possible to use iPhoto without it deciding what to do with my files.

It is a SQL database and it must control its database - like any database program
as long as you think of managing files rather than managing photos it is not the program for you - once you think of managing your photos then having the poser of a database for that will be obvious - if that is not what you want then do not use it
BTW - iPhoto does not ever "move" your files - it makes a copy of each photo in its database and manages it there - your files are never touched

How to get web application to use Tuscany without conflicting with SAP SDO

We are attempting to run a web application on SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 SP1 which uses Tuscany SDO. As it now stands We must use Tuscany because the web application will not run with the SAP SDO implementation provided by Netweaver. To ensure that Tuscany is loaded with priority, we have packaged the Tuscany JAR files and their dependencies as a heavy resource, as described here:

The final check showed that Tuscany was correctly deployed as a heavy resource and included the following JAR files:

We also verified that the web application using Tuscany has a hard reference to the Tuscany heavy resource.
However, when we try to run the web application, the following error is logged: java.lang.LinkageError: Class commonj/sdo/DataGraph violates loader constraints
The issue is definitely due to some kind of classloading conflict with the SAP SDO library, as the application runs normally when SAP SDO is manually removed from the classpath. Doing this on a production system is unfortunately not an option, though.
So the question is: how to get web application to use Tuscany without conflicting with SAP SDO?

I took a look at the "printerReady" example. Looks like I may be able to use the InetPing (...) function to ping through a range of IP addresses looking for a response.
Any ideas on how to find the MAC address associated with the IP addresses that respond?
We may have multiple units responding and the MAC address will allow the operator to determing which unit to connect to.
I'll try the InetPing to see how it works,

How to configure oracle alerts to use Workflow mailer?

Hello Guys:
We were trying to setup oracle alerts using workflow mailer. I have created a dedicated mailer for handling oracle alerts related mail.
Here is what I need to clarify:
1. Having setup a new mailer for Oracle alert do I have to still configure the Options in Oracle Alerts. This is where you choose which type of mail u want to use ( like Unix mail,Windows NT mail )
2.How do I tell oracle alert to use the new mailer that I created exclusively for this? While creating the mailer at some point I remember putting ALR in configuration form.
I am on 11.5.10 CU2. I am on 11i.ATG_PF.H

Based on the note I realised that my oracle alerts will user unix sendmail. But then If u go to " Oracle Alert Options "
-- > Mail systems -- I check Unix send mail
-- > Mail server options ( Do I have to fill this section? )
My guess is that the send mail will post the email to a IMAP account ( I created oraclealert account ) and IMAP account will push the alert email to Recipient

There are two types - POP and IMAP
You would need to logon to your webmail account using a browser and select the option to use IMAP forwarding - assuming that option is available.
Pop mail accounts can only access the server Inbox.
Emails are downloaded to your computer and stored in your Thunderbird Profile folder. So this type may not suit your requirements.
IMAP mail accounts offer a remote view of folders and emails stored on the server.
You subscribe to see those folders. Then Headers are downloaded and when you select to view an email, the email is downloaded to a temp cache.
Subscribed folders that are synchronised, download a copy of the folder and store it in your Thunderbird Profile. But these folders are constantly updated to reflect what is stored on the server.
So your best option would be to create IMAP mail account, subscribe to see folders on the server, but do not select to synchronise those subscribed folders.
Emails stored in your Thunderbird Profile on your computer load faster than those that have to be retrieved from the server each time.
Info on synchronising, so you can see how to enable/disable.

Creation of Delivery Using IDOC without reference to order

Pls suggest is there is any way to create delivery using idoc without reference to order. This is very urgent.

Design the inbound idoc in such a way that it carries all the essential data needed to create a delivery document namely the material number, no of units to be deilvery, delivering plant, storage location, shipping point, warehouse number(if applicable) etc.
Pass all these details to the function module RV_DELIVERY_CREATE while creating delivery in VL01N and pass the document type as LO which is delivery document without reference to order.
But it is advised to have atleast a pseudo order with which we have to create the delivery document.
Pls reward points.
