Using XSLT mapping to avoid File content conversion

Hi all,
Can we avoid FCC by using XSLT mapping? I have a scenario in which I have to avoid FCC in the adapter and save the file in a excel/csv format. I have been through the different blogs and forums in SDN.
I have been through Michal Krawczyk's Blog https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2803. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
Got a bit confused whether that blog serves my purpose. Expecting your valid inputs.
Thanks and regards,
Harikumar. S

Hi,
There are multiple ways in which you can avoid Content Conversion in the Sender / Receiver File adapters.
I think there was a heated discussion already regarding this in one of your earlier threads,
Read/Write csv files without file converter
Basically, if you want to avoid content conversion on the sender file adapter,
1. Write an Adapter Module. or,
2. Use a Java Mapping.
If you want to avoid content conversion on the receiver File adapter,
1,. Use a Adapter Modules or,
2. Use Java Or XSLTmapping ( XSLT can be used if the input to the mapping is XML and output needs to be say a Excel File etc).

    Dear All,
I am configuring one file-xi-rfc scenario in which the structure of the input file is as follows:

    E1EDL20                       020                              <b>0083710164</b>

    E1EDL18                       020                              GWT
I want to pick only VBELN from the segment E1EDL20 and post ot to the RFC. In the input file, the above structure is getting repeated for different VBELN.
Please help in configuring the sender DT, MM and in doing File Content Conversion.
    Waiting for your reply.

  • Problem in file content conversion, file 2 xml scenario

    Hi,
Could some one help me in finding out the error in my file to xml scenario, please do consider the following things what I did for this scenario.
1.My sender file structure is flat file with , seperated 4 fields. On receiver end expecting xml file.
2.Did file content conversion at sender file adapter and given parameters as follows.
         Document name             : MT_FileInput
         DocumentnameSpace     : http://file/praveenworkshop
         Recordset Name             : DT_Record
         Recordset Structure        : DT_Row,*
         KeyfieldType                   : String( default)
        DT_Row.fieldnames          : FirstName,LastName,City,PostCode
        DT_Row.fieldSeparator      : ,
        DT_Row.processConfiguration: FromConfiguration
        Dt_Row.endSeparator       : 'nl'
    3. I did check in Adapter Monitor that Both Sender and receiver adapter are showing green and It was showing  'Adapter is up and running: But no messages processed'
    4. I did check the SXMB_MONI which was showing " Scheduled for Outbound processing"
    5. In SXMB_MONI outbound processing payload was picking up the file and also inbound processing showing the same.
    6. my source folder and destination folder are very simple c:/praveenfiles/input and c:/praveenfiles/output
files are source file praveen.txt and destination file praveenOP.xml
Please help me in finding out the error to see the output file in my output folder.

  • Module processor enhancement with file content conversion

    Hi All,
I have a bean (module processor) that converts the a PDF doc to text. I need to use the same bean with file content conversion. Module processor processing sequence is as follows:
    1) My Bean: localejbs/myBean
    2) Default: localejbs/CallSapAdapter (Bean for file content conversion).
When I tried the same (myBean + File adapter with file content conversion) , it was not working as expected. But the same bean works fine with normal file adapter (myBean + File adapter without file content conversion).
Couldn't figure out the reason. Please help.
    Regards,
    Ajay.

As the content conversion of the file adapter is done before calling the customer module, it is not possible to use both.
As workaround you can do the file content conversion with help of the MessageTransformBean. In the module chain you put the MessageTransformBean after your module.
Note that the configuration of the MessageTransformBean has to be done like the J2SE sender file adapter:

  • How to skip first TWO Lines of   .txt  file    using XSLT Mapping

    Hi Friends  ,
I have an .txt file in has the format as
                               <TEST>
                                4564564545
                                56456444566
                                56465
How can i skip the first two Lines when i am writing the XSLT Mapping ?
That <TEST> and empty line shouldn't go the rfc  .
How can i skip and sent to rfc  using XSLT Mapping ?
    Best Regards .,
    V.Rangarajan

you can avoid the empty lines in your File Content Conversion by defining offset.
<i>Under Document Offset, specify the number of lines that are to be ignored at the beginning of the document.
This enables you to skip comment lines or column names during processing. If you do not make an entry, the default value is zero lines.</i>
    ref: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2c/181077dd7d6b4ea6a8029b20bf7e55/content.htm
then the generated XML after FCC will not have the empty lines.

    Hi,
Try to handle this with the context in the mapping.
I think your mapped xml will look like this-
    <i>100ABCDEF 043000096 0603201321
    200000000
    40010016020059332 0 00000000 010424400
    40010016010059347 0 00000000 000008250
    40010016010059347 0 00000000 000008260
    50000000640672060320ABCDEF 043000096
    600100100220887000311003510300958527437215 BAMBERGER POLYMERS
    700100206430530603200010022088700
    80010030643053060320000100220887009
    9000010</i>
SO this is because of context problem. All similar nodes are grouped in the Message Mapping.
    1) For this you can try with Context Handling - i.e using RemoveContext,SPlity value functions etc in the message mapping.
    2) Another way use XSLT mapping here. In this case it will be easier, because you just need to read the input xml as it is and produce the same.
    3) One more thing, your input xml looks as if is the output xml. Is it required to have mapping here? If there is no transformation required, then you can do without any mapping, and you will get the required output as it is ..

    Hi Experts,
    Hi All,
As we all know file content conversion cannot parse more than three level even if we use FCC paramenters or MessageTransform Bean /StrictXmlToPlain Bean.
Currently i am facing an scenario where i can expect an content coversion with four or five levels.

Shall i do java mapping ? if yes then any code example relevant to this type of scenario
Shall i do adapter module development ?if yes then any code example relevant to this type of scenario

    Hi All,
I am able to convert to Text format using file content conversion, But the requirement is to convert the same for the structure with additional subnodes  as in the example (also complex nested structures)

    Hi,
Like correctly pointed by JaiShankar, the Sender File Adapter currently does not supoort such stracutures.
the strcuture supported is described in this link,

  • Get the file name using XSLT mapping

    Hi
How to get the file Name at receiver side using XSLT mapping.
Could any one please help me
    Regards
    sowmya

    Sowmya
If you will use Grpahical Mesage Mapping then this can be achieved using Adapter-Specific Attribute u201CFileNameu201D
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/43/03612cdecc6e76e10000000a422035/content.htm
    Code Snippet -->
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container
    .getTransformationParameters()
    .get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create(
    u201Chttp://sap.com/xi/XI/System/Fileu201D,
    u201CFileNameu201D);
But in case you have to ONLY use XSLT mapping then I would suggest to use the same jave code & call it from your XSLT mapping. I never tried such thing you might use couple of jar files too.

  • Dynamic File Name on Receiver Side using XSLT mapping

    Hi,
My scenario is a Proxy to File scenario. The File on the receiving side is a TEXT file generated due to XSLT mapping. The file name has to be dynamic like- TEST<DDMMYYHHMMSS>File.DAT.
If somebody knows how to do the same please help.
    Regards
    Ritu

    Hi Ritu,
I agree to Krishna. With your XSLT mapping create a XML output which can be converted to a text file with content conversion.
And for the dynamic file name, i guess its the date that matters which needs to be in DDMMYYHHMMSS format. the same can be accomplished by a Java function and calling it in your XSLT .
Do refer this weblog it will help you accomplish the same.

  • Query regarding file content conversion using file adapter

    Hi All
I have a question regarding file content conversion in file adapter.
I have a file coming in the following format.
    AA,111,222,333
    BB,444,555,666
    CC,777,888,999
My incoming message structure has a hierarchy. The CC record is a structure part of BB record. BB record is a structure part of AA record. It is like this:
    AA,111,222,333
    <<BB,444,555,666>>
    <<<<CC,777,888,999>>>>
After file content conversion, in the resulted xml, i am getting a flat hierarchy instead of nested hierarchy.
Is it possible to get a nested hierarchy as a result of file content conversion?
    Please let me know
    Thanks
    Chandra

    Hi Udo
According to your suggestion, I am trying to use mapping.
I am getting a flat file and i am reading it.
    This is my source structure:
    AA,11,22,33
    BB,44,55,66
    CC,77,88,99
This is my required targer structure:
    AA,11,22,33
    <<BB,44,55,66>>
    <<<<CC,77,88,99>>>>
To explain this, BB record can have multiple records of CC records.
AA records can have multiple records of BB record.
I am using removecontext node function.
CC (Source)  (removecontext)-> CC (target structure)
But here, when i rightclick on source CC field in the mapping editor, i cannot see any other context except root node. So, how can i proceed here??
    Many Thanks
    Chandra

  • ERR: EXCEPTION_DURING_EXECUTE while using FILE CONTENT CONVERSION

    Hi,
I'm trying a file to file scenario with File Content Conversion for Sender communication channel. But am getting the following error in SXMB_MONI

I tried the same message mapping for normal file to file scenario without using File Content Conversion. It went through fine.
    <b>Our file structure follows</b>
        <Header>
          <Sysnum>01</Sysnum>
       </Header>
       <Body>

       </Body>
<b>The Sender Communication Channel Parameters follows:
    </b>
      Recordset Str:  Header,1,Body,1
      Header.fieldFixedLengths : 2
      Header.fieldNames : Sysnum
      Body.fieldFixedLengths : 5,2,3
      Body.fieldNames : Name,Age,Stream
      ignoreRecordsetName : true
      Looking for a solution
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

    Hi Ajay,
    your message mapping failed.
Copy the XML message from monitoring and exectute the mapping in Integration Builder with maximal trace to get the reason.

  • Error in Receiver File adapter using File content Conversion

    Hi,
I am getting the following error in the receiver file adapter.
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'statement.fieldFixedLengths' or 'statement.fieldSeparator' is missing
I am using the below parameters for FCC:
    Recordset Structure - statement
    statement.endSeparator - 'nl'
    statement.fieldSeparator - '0X09'
    statement.fieldNames -xblnr,wrbtr,newbs,kostl,newko,prctr,xref1,rke_wwfud,rke_wwst3,blart,bukrs,bldate,budat,gjahr,monat,ctype,waers,bktxt,posnr,wbs_element,mwxkz,businessplace,businessplace,c_waers,c_wrbtr,g_ctype,g_waers,g_wrbtr,h_ctype,h_waers,h_wrbtr,trade_id,lob,sgtxt,zuonr,reason_rev,ldgrp,tcode,lifnr
    ignoreRecordsetName - true
Please let me know where i am going wrong.
    Thanks,
    Aparna

    Hi Aparna,
I feel the problem in your content conversion parameters is with
    statement.fieldNames and ignoreRecordsetName
When you are confirguring receiver file adapter for file content conversion the above one is not required. Please refer below link for details on configuring content conversion in file adapter

    Hello,
The XSD you are using is from Data Type and you are using it for mapping.
Instead export XSD for Message Type and also pass the XML schema for source that will solve the issue and your XSLT will be generated.

  • File Content Conversion ( avoid fields in conversion)

    Hi all
An IDoc to File scenario , I am doing file content conversion in receiver File adapter.
my message type for file  2 HEADER each having its own substructure
    Like    1header
                       fieldA
              2header
                       fieldC
                       fieldD
I want the "<b>1header and its 1 subelement not be converted in file content conversion"  </b>
because  its used for dynamic file name configuration, so i do'nt want it to be written on file.
    Regards
    Ashutosh.r

    Rawat,
Yes I know you will get that error. That is the reason why I have told you to add another parameter fixedLengthTooShortHandling as Cut. So add one more parameter in your file receiver communicaion channel: Also I hope ASFD0101 is your strcuture not the field in the strcuture.
    ASFD0101.fixedLengthTooShortHandling :  Cut
Then I think it should work like a boom.
