Value Transfer through Characteristics in COPA Assessment

Dear All,
Here I am getting one issue regarding Revenue doubled in COPA Reports, not matching between FI & COPA reports because of SD condition types problems some of billing documents posted double revenue in COPA reports.
Now I want re-post extra revenues from Product/Customer Characteristics to Dummy Characteristics, how to solve this issue.
I tried in COPA Assessment, but not possible because senders only Cost Elements or Cost Centers.
My requirement is at month end we have to run TDD (Top Down Distributions) with reference of Actual Revenue. If I run TDD entire COPA report will show wrongly.
How to solve above issue please help me.
KBR

Hi Reddy Anna
How can double amount get posted in COPA alone and not in FI? Please check that
May be you are seeing double because you are displaying both currency types in COPA report (Op Conc and Comp Code)
However, if its truly genuine double amount, reverse the document and repost after making corrections in SD Pricing procedure.. Use KE4S

  • Objects value transfer through class

    Hi,
    Subject sounds strange? well, I dont know how to put it. Here is my problem. I have a class ReadURL which reads a url and creates a buffer. He is the code.
    public class ReadURL {
         public BufferedReader UrlReader(String url2) throws Exception {
            String url1 = "http://www.google.com";
             // Storing second part of the url in a String "url3"

             URLConnection webConnection = web.openConnection();
             BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(

             webConnection.getInputStream()));
            in.close();
              return in;
         }          Now I have another class Readbuffer which should read from this buffer and iterate for further process.... Here is the code
    public class ReadGB extends UrlReader{
             public static void main(String[] args) {
             BufferedReader in = null;
             try {
                 //prepare a BufferedReader for file io
                 BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(args[0]));
                 int fileType = Integer.parseInt(args[4]);
                 SequenceIterator iter =
                     (SequenceIterator)SeqIOTools.fileToBiojava(fileType, br);
             catch (FileNotFoundException ex) {
               //can't find the file specified by args[0]
               ex.printStackTrace();
               System.exit(-1);
         Can you please show me, How do I feed the buffer information from the first class to the second class for iteration? I am novice, so please dont go to technical about it.

  • COPA Assessment - settlement to different Company codes char. values

    Hi,
    I have some doubts about the COPA assessment possibilities.
    I have such a case - where there is one common Controlling area for 3 company codes.
    The company code is a characteristic used in my Operating Concern.
    I would like to have such a possibility to run the assessment of Administration Cost center in Company code 1 - that would settle its costs to Characteristic values - a group of product indexes and to all company codes (not only to products sold in company code 1, but also in 2 and 3). Is it possible to do it in COPA assessment - or will the system give a warning or error message when trying to settle cost from CC in one comany code to characteristic values in different company codes.
    The key I would use for settlement would be the COGS value field.
    Best wishes,
    Karol

    The characteristics Company code, Business area and Profit center are <b>handled differently depending on whether they are specified explicitly</b> in the segment.
    <b>If you do not specify them as receiver characteristics,</b> they <b>are copied automatically from the sender to the receiver profitability segments.</b> If you use the receiver rule "Variable portions", the tracing factors are aggregated over all company codes, business areas and profit centers.
    <b>If you explicitly specify the characteristics as receivers,</b> distribution occurs using the receiver rule. <b>In particular, cross-company-code,</b> cross-business-area or cross-profit-center <b>postings can be created if the characteristics specified for the sender differ from those entered explicitly for the receiver</b>. In this case, the tracing factors used for the receiver rule "Variable portions" are selected for that particular company code, business area or profit center.

  • Values for Characteristics in COPA

    Hello Gurus,
    If we have maintained the possible values for a characteristic in COPA, is it possible to have other values.  For example, in our scenario, Brand is a characteristic and we are deriving it from the classification view in Material Master. In that case, is it necessary to maintain Values for this Characteristic in COPA. Is there any necessity to maintain the possible values in separate Table.
    Please Advise.
    Thanks
    PM

    Hi Praveen
    when you create a WW char in COPA, you have 2 options (2 radio buttons) i.e. With own value Maintenance and w/o Own value Maintenance....
    If you choose with own value maintenance, then you need to maintain permitted char values (brand values) in KES1... If you choose "w/o own...", then you need not

  • COPA Assessment issue

    Hi
    I have set up a COPA Assessment (KEU1) using "variable portions" as the tracing factor. However, when I go to execute the assessment (KEU5) I get an error message GA733 "The segment contains no receivers". However, I have set up my receiving characteristics and value field correctly and do no see where there could be a problem.
    I have checked OSS Notes 61370 and 180993 but neither seems to resolve this.
    Has anyone had this problem before, or know of a resolution?
    Many Thanks

    There are two more notes 97087 and 128538. You may want to check them as well, provided they apply to your release.

    Hi,
    COPA assessment cycle is used to bring the overhead values, cost center values to copa through copa assessment cycle. for that you have to create a COPA assessment cycle in KEU1 with senders, receivers value fields. After that you have to execute  KEU5 t code.

  • CO period locked - can we unlock period and do COPA assessment?

    Hi Friends,
    CO period has been locked for last month, but some of the cost center assessment to COPA has not been carried out last month, resulting in amount lying in cost center itself.
    Could you please let me know whether we can unlock last month in CO through OKP1 and perform CC assessment to COPA now through KEU5? What impact or issue it would create if we unlock and perform COPA assessment now.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Dwarak.

    Hi,
    That's purely dependent on your business requirements. If the client wants to keep the period closed as he already published the financial figures, he might not be happy of having some updates afterwards. So, every opening of the period should be authorized by him. There are no technical aspects in this issue.

    Hi,
    continues from here,
    Inbound file:     edi_in
    Function module:     See text below.
    Status file parameters
    Directory:     /home/edi/<portname>/
    Outbound file:     status.idoc
    Function module:     Leave blank if using above
    u2022     Both the portname and the exchange directory should be created according to the same naming convention. However, the portname should be in upper case whereas the corresponding directory name should be in lower case (see examples below).
         Portname (upper case):
                             <portname>
         Exchange directory name (lower case):
                             /home/edi/<portname>
         where <portname> consists of:
         EDI<system name><client number><id char>
         <system name> is the name of  system on which port exists eg.      F01, PG1 etc.;
         <client number> is name of client on system which will use this      port; and
         <id char> is a single alphabetical character such as u2018au2019,u2019bu2019 etc.      typically,      u2018au2019 will denote dynamic outbound file naming (used      for testing) whereas      u2018bu2019 will denote static outbound file naming.      All ports will use static       inbound filenames.
    For example, the name of a port using dynamic file naming on system F01, client 610 would be named EDIF01610A.  The exchange directory would be named edif01610a. Similarly, the name of port using static file naming on system PG1, client 600 would be EDIPG1600B. The exchange directory name would be edipg1600b.
    Note that the function u201CEDI_PATH_CREATE_USERNAME_DT_TMu201D  can be used in the u201CFunction moduleu201D field  of the Outbound file parameters if IDocs are to be written to multiple files. In this case, the corresponding outbound filename field should be left blank. The standard IDoc exchange interface between the SAP EDI component and the EDI subsystem uses a single file for each transfer direction. However, should the exchange interface change, or for testing purposes, the function modules for dynamic naming can be used.

  • How to add a new partner function as a characteristics in COPA

    Hi There,
    Can you help please.
    I am trying to add an existing SD partner function called End Customer as a characteristic in CO-PA. End Customer is not defined in the CO-PA PAPARTNER structure.
    1 Sold To Party can have more than 1 End Customers. In such cases, during sales order creation, users will be prompted to select the End Customers. I need to extract the End Customer information into CO-PA as what is being specified on the sales order.
    Appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this..
    Many thanks in advance...
    Cheers
    HW.

    Hi Warwick,
    I've had a look at the SAP.Help Library - i am ok with the steps of adding the characteristics into COPA, no problems on this step.
    My question was around adding a partner function into a PA structure - PAPARTNER. The End Customer is not defined in the PAPARTNER structure - hence, I cant easily create a new characteristic using the transfer from SAP table or derivation rules.
    I need to find a way to extract the End Customers from the sales document, add that into the PAPARTNER structure and then create a new characteristics referencing that table.
    I've been looking at OSS 32878, 36557 and 12682 - and am slightly confused.
    Has anyone tried this before?
    The system is ECC 6.0.
    Thanks
    Cheers

  • Transfer of COGS to COPA

    Hi,
    This is a third party sale scenario, Vendor (K) is selling to the Customer (D) & invoicing thru our client (X).
    Now in this case, ideally vendor incoice value whould be the COGS for this sale. And it is happening rightly, at the time of GR for Vendor's PO debit to the COGS, trading goods account & credit to the GRIR account.
    But if you look at the COGS from COPA, report KE24 the COGS value is from the material master at the billing invoice quantitty.
    Can somebody help me in finding out where we do the configuration for the price update in COPA. And also kindly let me know how to change the COGS value in COPA.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raghava

    Hi
    Do you produce the Product "ih-house" too and you use Product cost estimation?. If so, check whether you have valuation stategy assigned to that product or to any combination of characteristics in COPA Valuation

  • How to analyse the Receiver Tracing Factor in COPA Assessment cycle -KEU5

    Hi
    While executing the COPA Assessment cycle,we will get receiver tracing factor.My client wants to know how we got that.How can i analyse that Receiver tracing factor?Kindly advice me...
    How can I recalculate the tracing factor for assesstment?
    For example, Actual Assessment Cycle RS_A01 under Segment ITCMFG2AD uses Variable Portions Rule for Receiver tracing Factor with Value Field of 62 Sales.
    The intent of this assessment was to be allocated based upon sales dollar values however when I review the test calculation, it appears the tracing factor is in billions of dollars when our monthly sales are in the million of dollars range.
    Supriya

    Hi,
    If Receier Tracing Factor Rule is Variable Portion, then please also check the Receiver Weighting factor (the last tab in the assessment cycle, it normally is 100 for the receivers.
    Secondly also check if there is different currency setting in CO Area & the Operating Concern which translates into different figures.
    Hope this works.

  • COPA-Assessment cycle KEU5

    We have run cost center -assessment cycle for a cost center group and all the cost of the profit centers are distributed to respective costcenters.And now we goto COPA-Assessment cycle KEU5 and run the cycle for the cycle with same cost center group as sender.
    System posts a difference amount of positive amount in the credit side of each costcenter of that group.Which reduces the credit value and shows in over/under absorption.
    Please suggest where from the system is finding the difference when all the costcenters are with zero value as cost is distributed thru CCA assessment cycle.What differences will a cycle run in co-pa determine.Please suggest.

    Hi,
    Actually, the Sales overhead and Corporate expenses which are captured in the Cost Center shall be allocated to the COPA. All other expenses captured in other Cost Centers shall be allocated to the Production and shall be absorped into the products manufactured. Hence, the same Cost Center shall not be used as sender in both the cycles. If we use like what you described, it will definitely result in over absorption that is more credits. Hence, please describe why need to add the same Cost Center group in both the CC cycle and Copa CC cycle.
    Trust this helps much!
    Cheers!

  • COPA Assessment Cycles

    Hi Guru,
    I really need some help with setting up COPA assessment cycles in 6.0.  I have used the best practice guides but unfortunately they were to lazy to be thorough.  I am using transaction code KEU7 to create the cycle.  I have attached a few segments to the cycle and added the sender/receiver (cost centers, companycode) details aswell. I checked it before saving the cycle and i got no error messages.  Now when i execute the cycle through tcode KEUB i get errorr/warning messages saying that "no valid sender entries found" and "this segment does not contain any senders".  I am not sure what i am missing and what i may be doing incorrectly.  Can someone please help me understand how to rectify this issue.  I am extremely generous with rewarding points!!!
    Thanks in advance,
    Shaun

    Hi Smith,
    Basically we created copa cycles in KEU1 and execute through KEU5.Find that recivers are product hi-erarachies, In our orgainisation  Corporate oh are be charge to products through copa cycles.
    Coming to your problem,When ever you define new copa cyle you find the error in differet ways.
    1) NO VALID SENDER FOUND  for segment means, Go to the segment there is an button ie consistancy chek box.Click on the check box System returns relavant segment.Observe that segment contains valid senders and revicers are produtc hierarachies or not.
    2) Other wise go to the segment and clik on find button, give the cost center, cost elements.Observe secondary cost elements and rules.
    3) other wise you can directly execute the co-pa cycle and click on segments.Here you can easily find that sender contains valid recivers or not.Basically these kind of error message will appears still now there is no Transaction passed to that products..
    I hope you understood.

  • COPA Assessment-Creation of set

    Hi,
    I want to apportion the Administration ,S &D etc expenses over the Material  which has been sold. In COPA report corresponding value fields have also been created.
    Now when I Go to Assessment Cycle sender/receiver tab, i want to select product as receiver. But want to select only FERT items. I just cannot give the existing range of items which is whole material master I want to create the Group of Fert items. I tried to create a set (T code GS01) using table S039 and field name as MTART and defined value as FERT. But in assessment, I am not able to select the set I have created.
    What is the correct way to create the set? Or is there any other way to create the Group of FERT items which I can use in assessment?
    Requesting to guide me
    regards,
    makrand

    Hi,
    Instead of going for creation of Sets, U better to go for "Material Group". Whatever the materials you want to consider, maintain some value in the "Material Group" field in the concerned Material Master Records. and then select that material group as receiver in the Assessment Cycle.
    Hope this will work...
