Variant Problem

Hi All,
I have upgaded my system from 4.6 to ECC 6.0,
I have changed some paramters of selection screen in our created 'Z.. programs. but now the issue is our variant which was saved earlier are not working, is there any sap standard report which adjusts all variants so that our variant saved earlier works.

Variant problem - URL command

Hello,
I´m facing a problem when I use a BI 7.0 URL command with a variant.
I created a query with a hierarchy node variable for Cost Center characteristic.
Then I executed the query and saved 2 hierarchies nodes values for the variable in a variant.
When I execute the URL bellow, to call the web template with the saved variant, the input screen
shows me just one value for the hierarchy node.

We are in BW 3.5 SP12 and i think this note is not relevant for this version.
I´m in doubt if i need to set the color values again in URL and also the number of classes.
These parameters were filled in the template definition and i need to rebuild the template with newer breaks values.
Do you have idea if something is missing in the URL or any example ?

ABAP Query display variant problem

Hi,
We have three different SAP clients development DV1, Staging ST1 and production PC1. I have created an abap query for which I m trying to create a global display variant (not user specific). I m able to do so easily in DV1 and PC1 systems. But when I try to create a display variant on ST1 by first running the report and then going to menu Settings->Layout->Save . I find that by default the User-Specific checkbox is selected and disabled. Because of this I can create only user specific display variants for my queries.
Where can I change the settings so that when I go to the above menu the User-specific checkbox is enabled and I m able to create global display variants ?

I am confuse after reading your question , any way we can adding "default" variant in SQ01. You can also assign the same variant in SE93 , when you create T-code for the specific query !!.
Well if it doesnt solve your problem ..please explain your question with the help of tr. codes and what youre trying to do !!

ALV Grid Dialog Program Variant Problem

Hi Gurus-
Please help!!! I got the following problem-
The ALV dialog screen will have fields with display options as well as a number of fields as input options (editable). Based on user inputs in the input fields and other displayed fields, the user selects "Process"/F8 and it calls the BAPI_MATERIAL_EDIT functions to update material.
The problem is, I want to use variants in the input fields (Maybe REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4) when I select a variant it loops through the selected rows and fills out the input fields with the values stored in the variant. I want to use sample ALV grid program such as BCALV*.
The question is, can I use variants in ALV grid dialog program and if yes, how do I define variants to loop through and fill out the values in the input/editable fields on the ALV grid?
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Rep points for sure!

Another SAPGUI Java (7.20) Variant Problem 'Choose a valid entry'.

Hi,
One of our client was running on OpenSuse Linux 11.2, and currently using the latest sapgui 7.10 and 7.20 (patch 5).
The problem was came out when we tried execute the report, we are unable to get the variant, as when we double click the variant, it will pop 'Choose a valid entry'.

that version has been tested on many OSes including the one you are using. I am actually running that version also on a MBP with 10.6.2. So you see me quite puzzled reading about your issues.

What we need in addition to your textual description above is:
A) for the first issue
1) Which theme you are using? In case it is "Signature Design", do you have the checkbox "Enable Signature Design window decoration" on? (Please refer to Preferences -> Theme)
2) Before doing the first connect, please go to the File->Trace menu. There enter a file name and turn on the main switch and press "Apply".
Then try to connect to a system. Go back to the trace window, press the "Component Tree" button. In the new window should be a hierarchy of objects. Select the item "GuiMainWindow" and press the button "Dump Component Tree".
Then press button "AWT Tree". In the new window, click the first item (SAPFrame) and press the button "Dump Tree".
B) for the second issue:
0) keep tracing enabled, do not delete the trace file from A)
1) select a connection and press the "Edit" button
2) make a screen-shot of the error message
3) Attach following files from your <home>/Library/Preferences/SAP folder:
- connections
- settings
In case your are referencing a configuration file, we also need this one and those which are eventually referenced by the configuration file
For A) and B) please attach the resulting trace-file to the support message.
Then we should have enough information to track down the two issues.

G5b varied problems hard to trouble shoot

I have a dual 1.8 GHz Power PC G5 made in 2003. I have always had various problems with it. About a year ago the power supply went, and the computer sat dead until last week when I had a new one put in (I live in Tokyo and this cost me ¥50,000 or about $500.00. Since then the fans rev up (I think it's fans and not the HD) which they have done since I bought this machine, and system log shows "Oct 1 01:20:41 cavalier-duanes-Computer kernel[0]: Fan failure!" over and over again (every second, and this is a new one), but the fans are working. In addition, twice (since I got it back) it has just suddenly shut down. Will not restart until I unplug it for about 10 seconds. One of the times it restarted in "unix mode" for some reason. These are the latest problems.
I use a lot of different macs and operating systems as I have a small business and use everything from old blueberry imacs running 10.2 to new macboo ks running 10.5 (and many machines in between). I know a some about trouble shooting macs,but I am stumped.
Over the years this G5 has froze many times, froze and showed a semi-transparent black screen in several languages telling me some major error has occured, froze and fans go wild, volume goes to silent and slider control won't respond and I've lost all data twice and had to completely reinstall OS. These are the things I can remember. There have been more. The problems are so varied I have no idea what to do. Any ideas on what may be the underlying cause.
By the way it has passed hardware tests in the past (haven't done one recently, but the problems are not new). I've zapped and zapped the pram, done fsck many a time, and run disk utility up the whazoo. Would be thankful for any help.

A "[0]: Fan failure!" appears to be a power supply fan failure, only. Is the repair still under warranty?
A hard drive crash will cause data loss/corruption. This is due to damaged sectors on the disk, caused by a sudden loss of power, unconditioned power or just age. When this occurs, the drive is on its way out and it is best to replace the HD before a total failure.
Install a new disk along with the defective one, install the OS and immediately migrate all of your data, including User Accounts, using Migration Assistant. You should be up and running in no-time.

Variant Problem in Web Template Precalculation IMP

I am having a peculiar issue with Reporting Agent in Precalculation of Web Template.
I created a web template for my query, had all relevant options set in Reporting Agent and scheduled the package. I also created a variant(ZVARIANT_1) for the main query(no control query used/needed).
When the job is scheduled, it takes close to 2 hours to precalculate. When I fire up this URL:
http://app_server:1080/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=TEMPLATE_NAME&VARIANT=ZVARIANT_1&DATA_MODE=STORED
I get, No Precalculated data found for DP.
But instead if I insert the variables individual values in the URL by using the code given by clicking the "Add URL parameter" Green button, it gives an editor screen with variables initialized and assigned, I get the static report I want.
1) Why cant I use a variant, or am I missing something?
2) Why do I get filter & drill down options and variable screen only in stored mode but not in hybrid mode?

I am trying to Execute a query through Program
I had copied standard querys (ME80FN) Program RM06EAAW to my custom program
In that program , it is caaling a query and assigning one variant
Any idea from when that variant was assigned or How to create variants for ABAP Queries??

Variant problem for 2 ALVs

hi
i have 2 alv's in 1 screen.
if i save a layout variant in one of the ALVs, the same shud be applied to 2nd alv also and the screen shud refresh & display with the new variant.
how can i do this?

Information broadcasting :Variant problem

I have been trying to broadcast a query in BEX BROADCASTER but when i try to fill in the variant in the general precalculation tab i am getting the global variable i created in analyzer but when i select this nothing happens it gets me back to the same page without saving the settings.
I am really clueless about the same

Hi Sarang,
Try to create a new setting for the query and under "General Precalculation",select the "Determine from Variants" radio button and then select the global variant from the dropdown.Click "Save" once you done with.Again reopen the setting and check whether the selected variant is available or not.

Varied problems with wifi

Forgive me if this is the wrong community!
I've just moved in with my partner, taking my iMac (mountain lion) with me. At my previous abode, I had no problems at all with wifi access to internet. Now, I have several. My partner has none on her MBP.
The issues are these (in no particular order).
the iMac frequently can't 'see' our wireless network and so I am repeatedly clicking the Wifi symbol at the top of the screen. For example, at this very moment, the MBP is using the wifi but the iMac denies the existence of the network. It can see about 10 other ones, but not ours.
Sometimes I get a message telling me I cannot join the network because 'a connection timeout occurred' for reasons I can't understand.
when i am connected, the system frequently runs VERY slowly, or even acts as if I've not pressed 'enter' (when googling) or not clicked on a link - it just sits as if it has not been asked to do anything. this is even though there are 3 or 4 bars on the Wifi icon.
sometimes, the system works beautifully!
None of these problems occurs on my partner's MBP. I haven't changed anything else about the iMac other than move it to my new address.
Contextual details:
Connecting to Virginmedia Netgear CG3101D
iMac is running Mountain Lion;
MBP is running Snowleopard (10.6.8).
I'd be most grateful for some well-informed guidance.

Sorry I don't have a solution - but I have exactly the same problem!! I have UVERSE, it all started the day (one hour) after I had ATT come out to replace a modem box (the main box that runs the whole system) because my land line went out. An hour after he left - it started dropping and coming back whenever it wants to - don't need to log back in to the network, add the password, any of that. It will just pop up on its own. ATT says it is just a coincidence but I don't believe it! Never had this problem before! See if you can find my entry - this is my first time on this (or any) forum like this. I think I put it under MacBook. and UVerse is in the title. Maybe we will get different responses and can share. I did see one guy suggest that if you hold down the Option key while clicking on the wireless tornado, it will show the details of the signal that it is recognizing . In mine, i may have narrowed it down to a nearby Cisco router that is pushing out my signal.

Varied problems after upgrading to 10.4

Went from 10.3.9 to 10.4.11 - repaired permissions before and after upgrade. I wonder if these issues are related.
1. Blank DVD's now mount with the "fpbf" extension.
2. Cannot connect to to other computers on the network - but can connect from them to this mac. Can connect to the internet through router.
3. Folders copied to this mac show the date when copied, NOT modification date.
4. Icons in these folders are generic - when burned to disc and taken to another computer, file associations are lost.

Starting with Tiger, Finder now uses Burn Folders (extension fpbf) when burning CDs and DVDs. It is a lot faster than the old method that used a hidden disk image file. See the Finder's Help on burning. There is one thing that can get you into trouble. In Panther, after you dragged a folder to a blank disc, you could open could open it and delete some files to make it fit, since it was a copy of the original. With Tiger, it will be an alias, but if you open it and delete files, you will be deleting the original files, not copies or aliases.

Get the values from Variants

I am missing the values from variants..does have anybody have an idea how to retrieve the values of variants..?
Is it stored some where in SAP..?in any table..?
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you having variant problems after an upgrade? If so, you can run:
RSVARDOC Rescue obsolete variants
or
RSVARDOC_610 Rescue obsolete variants
Depending on your version.
