Vendor Master Data F4 Search Restriction

Hello SAP users
In FK01. FK02 or FK03, when we press F4 to search vendor, I found there
is no criteria for vendor group. Also, is there any suggestion to
improve the performance of the F4 result searching process.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
Best Regards!
Gavin

  • Restrict access for Vendor Master Data

    Hi all.
Our company structure is like below:
    Single instance, just one mandant.
Company codes like 1001, 3001, 6002, 6006, etc... over the world.
At some companies just the central administration can create vendor for the companies using the transaction XK01.
Now we need to give access to users from one of our company from other country but we can´t give access to transaction XK01 because just the central administration can create the master data for the vendors.
I already read about the object F_LFA1_AEN that is possible to create some field groups and give access just for the rigth groups. I also read that this authorization groups don´t have effect on the vendor master data like address.
How can I restrict access for the vendor master data? I´m thinking to give access to transaction FK01 and MK01 and restrict access for create a new vendor, I only want that the users can create the data for a new company or new purchase organization.
    Thank you
    Darlei Friedel

among many other authorization objects, you find following three:
    F_LFA1_GEN general data
    F_LFA1_BUK company code data
    M_LFM1_EKO purchasing org data.
If the user does not have authorization for F_LFA1_GEN , then he cannot maintain general data.

  • Vendor master data-name 1 40 or 35 characters?

    Hi,
In vendor master data, field name1, the data element show it has 40 characters, but in LFA1, the field length is 35.
If I key in forty chaacters, and save, it is successful, go back to see it, it really display 40 characters, but check table:LFA1, I see only 35 characters, where other 5 character store? what is the logic of this?
    Thanks.

    Message no. AM228
    Diagnosis
The address data maintained in field NAME1 occupies 40 of 40 characters The last 5 characters of the field NAME1 can be used only with restrictions.
    System Response
In this form the data can be saved and used up to the complete length of 40 characters.
In some scenarios, the system only uses the first 35 characters of name fields, of the fields 'Street', 'City', 'District', as well as the first 10 characters of the field 'Search Term 1'.
    These cases are:
ALE: the address data can only be transferred with 35 characters (search term 1 only 10 characters) in the case of some ALE message types (IDOC types) for reasons of compatibility with other releases and components. The message types in question are:
    DEBMAS
    CREMAS
    DEBCOR
    CRECOR
The problems do not occur if the relevant address data in IDOC ADRMAS is sent in each case, together with these message types.
EDI: the address data can only be transferred with 35 characters (search term 1 only 10 characters) with the standard UN/EDIFACT for reasons of compatibility.
Print: addresses are formatted with only 35 characters in some print forms for standard envelope windows. If the address number is in the address output structures, you can output the address fields in full length in forms. (See OSS note 145753 for FI forms.)
    Procedure
If you do not want the address data to be truncated in these scenarios, only use the first 35 characters of the name fields, of the fields "Street", "City", "District" or the first 10 characters of the field "Search Term 1" during maintenance, or abbreviate the texts, if necessary.
    Effects on Customizing
You can define when this system message is to be issued in accordance with your requirements.
You do this in Customizing as follows: Cross-Application Components -> Bank Directory -> Change Message Control.
The application area and message number

  • Error importing vendor master data from ERP

    Hi experts,
currently we are trying to import vendor master data from ERP to SAP Sourcing 9.
We exported the data in an XML file by using the transaction BBP_ES_MAST_DOWNLOAD.
We already imported all the dependencies like vendor account group, purchase org, regions etc. successfully.
However, every time we are trying to import the vendor data we receive the same result:
    Data Import:
    Trace.txt:
Do you have any hints why this happens?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Johannes

    Hello Johannes,
This looks to come from a custom script in your system.
Go to Setup > Script Definition and check all scripts defined on class "Supplier" (starting with those on context: Import Lifecycle Event).
Search for a script that starts with "throw doc.createApplicationException(test..."

  • Obligatory fields "iban" and "swift" in vendor master data creation

    Hi,
I need a way to get obligatory iban and swift in vendor master data.
I need to check if iban and swift have been filled during creation or modification of a vendor (transactions XK01, MK01, FK01,XK02, MK02, FK02 ).
    In user-exit ZXF05U01(function EXIT_SAPMF02K_001) I can't check iban and swift fields.
Do you know another way to solve my issue?
    Thanks in advance. Stefano.

    Hi Stefano,
swift codes are data from financial institute (and not vendor data). So try exit (CMOD) SAPLBANK (but I dont no if it will work!).
As i remember (at time iban where introduced), there was an exit to check consistency (mean "rules") to propose/create iban from account no of vendor. But i cant remember the name of this exit, so you may search in sap notes for this exit.

  • Archiving of Vendor Master Data,

    Hi All,
I want to Archive Vendor Master data .
For this purpose , I used two Archiving Objects - FI_DOCUMNT and FI_ACCPAYB so that I can archive data from tables LFA1 and LFB1.
After archiving using FI_DOCUMNT , I tried archiving(write) using FI_ACCPAYB.The job did not pick up even a single record with an eror - transaction figures exist.
Hence to remove  transaction figure I used Archiving Object FI_MONTHLY. After Archiving using FI_MONTHLY,
when I again tried archiving FI_ACCPAYB,I faced another error - "cleared items still exist".
I found out 3 tables related to cleared Items.
    BSE_CLR
    BSAK
    BSAS
I got cleared Items cleared form BSE_CLR through FI_DOCUMNT,but those cleared items still exist in rest two tables. For all these three tables archiving object is same i.e. FI_DOCUMNT. I don't know why it did not delete data from rest two tables.
    Please clear my following doubts-
    1. what is the proper data dependency and archiving Object to archive Vendor master data.
    2. In DB15 -When we search tables for a particular   archiving Object, does it mean that that particular Archiving object will archive data from all tables listed for that OBJECT.

    Hi Deepti,
Archiving object FI_ACCPAYB is dependent on various other archiving objects such as FI_DOCUMNT, MM_EKKO and so on which means that before archiving FI_ACCPAYB, first we have to archive dependent AO if we want to keep track on all the transaction data for this Vendor.
You can directly archive VMR with FI_ACCPAYB with out considering dependent archiving object also, Prerequisites for this are:
    1. There should be no open items for this vendor
    2. It should be marked for archiving at company code level and Purchase organization level.
    3. Deletion indicator should be marked through Preprocessing program
If a VMR have all the above criteria then you can archive the vendor.
    2 Question:
When we archive then write program picks up the data from the table that is mentioned in the DB15 transaction under the particular archiving objects.
    Reward if it is benifits.
    -Thanks,
    Ajay

  • Payment method not defaulting from Vendor master data

    Hi All
I am running F110 payment run. In the Payment proposal SAP  is not pulling payment method from vendor master data for some invoice. we have like two payment methods , Sap is defaulting payment method for one type of payment method and not defaulting for the other...What could be the possible reasons?( for both the invoices We are not maintaining any payment method)

    Hi
In F110 if payment methods are different from vendor master data and payment methods mentioned in parameters tab it will take payment methods from parameters tab, so that you have to give both payment methods in parameters tab so that it will consider both.

  • How to create automatic creation of BP from customer and vendor master data

    Hi gurus,
can any one tell how to create automatic creation of BP from customer and vendor master data.
    Please give me the steps.
    Thanks
    Sasikanth.

    HI,
Goto SPRO\ Cross application components \ Master data synchronization \ Synchronization control.
Assign account groups of customer and vendors to respective BP grouping. This setting is enough to create BP in background while creating customer / vendor. But the fields groups are very much important, ensure mandatory fields should be sync.

  • Creation of Vendor Master Data

    Hi,
In my company they are currently using this process to create Vendor Master Data: The Vendor Master Data is created in the Production Server and refreshed to Development Server and to Quality Server, using ALE.
Is this the right process? If not can you let me know the steps to create Vendor Master Data.
    regards,
    raj

    Hi Raj,
ALE and IDoc is the best way to transfer master data between SAP system. They have excellent error handling and reprocessing capabilities (Recommended by SAP).
In order to automate the vendor master data transfer, you need to do the following steps.
    1. Create Logical System (if not available) for PROD, QA and DEV system.
    2. Create RFC Destination (SM59) from PROD to QA and DEV system.
    3. Create Distribution Model from PROD to QA/DEV (BD64) for message type CREMAS (Vendor Master).
    4. Create Partner Profile (WE20) for message type CREMAS in PROD, QA and DEV system.
    5. Execute transaction code BD14 (Send Vendor) from PROD to QA and DEV system.
    6. To monitor the IDoc, you can use transaction code WE02.
If you are not familiar with ALE/IDoc setup, please work with technical folk.
Hope this will help and give an idea.

    Ferry Lianto
