Verizon Galaxy Stratosphere II

Phone goes blank off and on at beginning of a phone call or call to voice mail. I can hear the other party's voice however but is unable to terminate conversation or press the pass code as the screen stays blank. Something wrong with my setting or should I return the phone? thanks.

Hey there atz. Congrats on the new Galaxy Stratosphere II. It is a great phone and I hope that you are enjoying it so far. My favorite part of the phone is the keyboard. It makes texting and e-mails that much easier.
I'm sorry to hear about the issues that you are having with the screen. The way the phone works, is the screen should go black when you put the phone up to your ear. The screen should then light up when you remove it from your ear. If you remove it from your ear and the screen is still blank you can push the power button and the screen should come back on so you can end that call. You should not have to do this everytime though.
Could you please turn the phone off and remove the battery for about 30 seconds? After 30 seconds go ahead and put the battery back in and test the screen and let me know if the issues continue.

  • Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE and the iPad

I had Unlimited Data on my VZW account and I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus (which uses a microSIM)
Would I be able to pop my Nexus sim into the iPad and start using the data from my VZW account on my iPad?
I've swapped SIM's with other 4G phones (Thunderbolt SIM with a MiFi). I get service disruption ocassionaly but a quick reboot fixes it.
I assume that the disruption is caused by software issues on the MiFi or Verizon's LTE service.

Certainly not going to renew with Verizon and I'm in the same boat about jumping ship early.  Depending on the prices, specs, and manufactures of the next crop of Nexus devices will determine if and when I jump ship early.  Never again will I be on a cellular contract or use a locked phone.  Verizon may claim to have the best network, but the other networks are not nearly as bad as Verizon's handling of the Nexus.  The ** about the delays be caused by "extensive" testing sure did a lot of good for the Nexus. Shortly after launch day OTA for bug fixes and then 4.0.4 delayed for 5 months just to get a somewhat more usable radio set.  At least if a straight from Google Nexus has an issue you can expect it to be fixed in days or weeks, not months.

  • Bluetooth broken on Verizon Galaxy Tab?

Is there a fix on the way for the Bluetooth functionality on the Galaxy Tablet?  It seems that with all other versions,(from other providers) it is possible to use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.  The Verizon Galaxy will not work with a Keyboard and Mouse at all.  This has been confirmed on many forums.
Is this just a mistake that will be corrected soon with an over the air update or should I consider a return to get a device from another company?  I can't imagine a good reason this would have been removed by Verizon.  All other vendors have it available so what is the story?

Hi, it doesn't seem as you say.  There is a discussion among a few users on Android forums and xda with a youtube video of  a Japanese tab was shown with a bluetooth mouse.  It was pathetically slow--you should wach it--and hilarious too.  It is a touchscreen device, lol.  I don't know if it is related to foreign or GSM versions but some reported eventual success with a Tmob version and there was one report of AT&T.  None for Sprint, I think.
I had a similar issue with Bluetooth voice acttivated dialing on Android--none!.  That was essential to me, but I got the Droid anyway. The feature wasn't added until Froyo.  Anyway what function do these accomplish better than touch or that you need?  To each his own.  Seems to defeat the purpose of a tab.  But if that is essential to you, you should shop around--It's interesting to note that that feature is not touted on any of the carrier's websites--there is no differentiation at all.  They all say 3.0 and none say HID.  But on Samsung's site, they vary.  TMob says 3.0, the other say "yes".

  • Galaxy stratosphere

I am not able to send email on my galaxy stratosphere. I keep getting a temporary service error. I can receive email but not send. Any suggestions/  Thanks

        Hi Latem321,
Email is very important and I want you to be able to send email from your phone in a reliable manner. What's your email server/provider? Have you confirmed your SMTP settings with your email server/provider? Does your email provider have a mobile application to manage and or send/receive your email? For example, I know that Yahoo accounts work better with their http://bit.ly/UXvYa8 mobile email application. Try deleting your email account from your phone, power off/on and add email again. Test & keep us posted.

  • Verizon Galaxy S5 Lollipop Update Does not work with Ford My Ford Touch

Updated my Verizon Galaxy S5 to Android Lollipop this week. We have a Ford Edge with My Ford Touch. All Blue Tooth features for Galaxy S5 paired and worked with Ford MFT except for text under Android Kit Kat 4.4. Since Update, I cannot: 1. use voice commands to dial via blue tooth and telephone directory from car; 2. Verizon Telephone Contact entries do NOT show in Contact List; 3. Contact List in phone is different alpha sort order from telephone directory that one can see with pairing of phone and car via Bluetooth. I have unpaired and paired phone/car multiple times. All suggestions welcome. How does one go back to Android 4.4 Kit Kat that seemed to work fine!

  • Using CRM_UI on Verizon Galaxy Tablet

    All,
We are currently working on a pilot to deploy Verizon's Galaxy S tablet to our outside sales force.  As part of this deployment, we wanted to be able to log on to CRM_UI using the tablet.  We have found that 80% of the functionality works, but we have found screen rendering issues and drop down list issues.
I wanted to know if 1) does any one know of a CRM_UI compatible browser that can be used on tablet type devices?  and 2) if the solution as described above will work without deploying the complete CRM Mobile solution?
    Regards,
    Jose

Personally I have not tried CRM via the browser on the iPad.  In terms of browser compatibility your best bet is probably EHP1 for SAP CRM where I think SAP finally updated CRM for better IE8 and firefox support.
In terms of browser support, until SAP provides better support for firefox and perhaps even adds chrome to the browser list for CRM, I dont' think we are going to have much support on tablets for CRM when not using the mobile solutions delivered via native applications.
It might be worth looking at the OSS NOte 1430376 for more information on EHP1 support.
I'm going to SAPPHIRE next week and this will be a good question for me to ask about general browser support for SAP CRM in the longterm.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Verizon galaxy nexus-music skips and static when screen is off..

What i do is download videos using youtube
downloader and convert them into mp3. Then i connect my phone to the laptop with
the usb cable. I open my computer-galaxy nexus-music, and i drag the saved mp3
from my laptop to my phone. When i disconnect the phone,I open the music app and
I listen to my music and it sounds fine when the screen is on. When the screen
is Off the music starts to skip a little and i hear static with or without
headphones. Now i used the same procedure when i load music from my laptop with
other mp3 devices and ipods and the music sounds good when the screen is on or
off with those devices. I downloaded a song from the android market and amazon,
stored it and downloaded to my phone for offline play and both songs stutter or
    static when screen is off.

From the beginning, I wasn’t too impressed by the Galaxy Nexus. Why? It’s a Samsung. Would I purchase a Samsung for a basic phone? Sure, but when it comes to “top of the line” smart phones, Samsung wouldn’t be my first, second or even third choice. Now, don’t get me wrong, I contemplating parting with 299.99 to purchase the Nexus. The ics appeal outweigh some of my skepticism.. but before I buy a phone, I sit on review boards, cnet reviews, youtube reviews, etc. etc. In addition, it’s hard to trust a new phone of its kind. All the kinks (clearly) haven’t been ironed out. I, like Rushfan2112 went with the Rezound. And I LOVE it.
But do I think the Nexus is a “poor” phone? Na. Not by a long shot. Does VZW hinder the devices full potential? Of course – but we as Verizon customers should already know this – they proved so with the Iphones. Moreover, I’m a bit confused by the lack of update to the OS as well. This phone was specifically designed and released. It’s not as if we’re waiting for a complete OS change like HTC Rezound, Rhyme, & Motorola Bionic, 4 and Razr customers are. I understand that takes time because the OS has to be modified for each device. But the Nexus started with ICS, the ambiguity in the software updates is ridiculous….

  • Verizon Galaxy Nexus - Defective Charging Port

Bought my Galaxy Nexus in April of 2012, along with insurance on the phone. Love the phone and the pure Android experience. However, back in February, I woke up one morning and noticed that even though my phone was plugged in, the battery was not charging. I tried using different cords and my spare battery, neither fixed the issue, which meant that the charging port on the phone was defective. I brought it to a VZW store, and since the issue occurred within a year of purchasing the phone, they sent me a certified pre-owned galaxy nexus as a replacement (They had to send me three replacement phones total because the first two would not boot properly, but that's a different story.)
So here I am, 5 months later, and I woke up one morning and discover the same issue. Phone is plugged in (using the original charger that come with the original phone by the way), but it is not charging. Won't charge with a different cord, won't charge with a different battery, which means that the port is defective. I take the phone to the Verizon store, and am informed that A) my year-long warranty has run out, so if I want to replace the phone I will have to pay full retail price for it, and B) The default insurance plan on these phones only covers cracked screens or lost devices. The VZW support rep actually suggested that I damage the screen on the phone before sending it to the insurance company, because otherwise they would send it back and refuse to replace it.
So to recap, Verizon sold me a defective device, replaced it with another defective device, and now in order to fulfill the remaining nine months of my contract with them, I will have to purchase another device at full retail value. That's $600-$700 I'm expected to pay just to continue adhering to the terms of my contract. For now, I went on amazon and bought an external battery charger which I now have to carry with me at all times, which is an unacceptable solution for the next nine months. Surely there has to be a better option?

This is the same problem I had in the past and Samsung fixed the phone
under warranty. Since a warranty is only 1 year and not the length of the
contract it doesn't help anymore.  I do not have insurance and the phone
has never been wet.  I have to wiggle the port or reset something on the
connect to have it charge properly.  Verizon was unwilling to help me the
last time I had this issue since I purchased the phone new from Amazon.  I
would appreciate it if you could help.

  • Apps disabled on the Verizon Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S6: Verizon, AT&T remove Microsoft apps | BGR
I was curious about which features would be removed from the galaxy s6/ s6 edge on Verizon; Verizon has been known to remove features! (Which might have influenced a consumer's decision to buy it in the first place). Anyway, I saw the article above today, and thought it might be helpful for anyone that hasnt bought an S6 yet. I feel that if Verizon removes apps and/or features it should also be a standard of practice to share what has they've disabled or removed.
Verizon S6 & S6 Edges do not come with:
    Smart Manager
One drive (& 100 GB free storage)
Skype, One Note, & Office Mobile preloaded

Please be advised--- Apparently Verizon has also disabled Samsung's stock browser. Subsequently this has also removed the feature for fingerprint sign-in...

  • Kies available for Verizon Galaxy S4?

I recently discovered Kies and loaded it to my PC.  It works just fine via USB, but during my education process, I discovered there is something called Kies Air that I thought was supposed to be on the phone already (Galaxy S4).  I cannot, however, find it anywhere.  I followed the Samsung Galaxy S4 manual, but it's not there.  I am on Verizon and my Android version is 4.3.  I have searched the forum and found at least one post that said they no longer had Kies Air after upgrading to 4.3.  I've also looked on the Samsung site and cannot find anywhere to download it.
    Any suggestions/comments?

Thank you for the info, but the "Download App" link directs me to Google Play,
and the app is not there.

  • Former Sprint (now verizon) Galaxy Note 2

I was an ATT customer for 15+ years and left them because they put too much focus on the Apple phones.  I switched to Sprint years ago when the HTC EVO 4g first came out.   I liked the EVO, but hated sprints data coverage.  Their 3g was a snails pace, and their 4g was very spotty.   After suffering through for 2 years, I decided to move to Verizon and I have to say I'm pleased though not overly..     I'm very happy with my Note 2 phone.
    The only cons are:
4g LTE speed is very sporadic, ranging in download speeds from 11608, 6617, 3297, 3185, 12843, 787, 9883.   I expect some variance, but this is crazy...   I know folks getting 20000 range pretty consistently.
I miss my "missed calls" screen from Sprint.   So much easier to handle and manuver than Verizons.     Cmon Verizon and change that ..
If Verizon can get these lte speeds to be a little better and more consistent, I will be a long time Verizon fan...

Isn't there an app for that??

  • Want to use Galaxy Stratosphere overseas for a week

I find Verizon's information confusing. The 'Value Plan' costs nothing? But if I add it to my phone, will it affect today's USA usage?
I thought I had to have a SIM card? Or has that changed?

You can sync as many ipods as you like to your account/computer/library.
Just restore the ipod before using it.

  • WHERE IS THE VERIZON GALAXY NOTE EDGE!?

passed through FCC a WEEK ago. Verizon knew weeks ago they could not honor a nov. 14th release and chose to leave customers in the dark (again). Besides verizon bloatware no one uses anyway whats the hold up this time??...

I'm wondering the same thing,  been waiting to upgrade my 3 lines to the edge, but I guess if I want this device, I'll have to take my contract somewhere else.  It's a shame.  A little more info than "coming soon"  would be nice,  too.

  • How can I use Messages app on non-Verizon phone?

Hi. I have two phones: A VZW personal phone and a T-Mobile phone from my employer. I wish to carry only one device when I'm at work (my T-Mobile work phone) but I wish to be able to get texts from my personal VZW number on that phone. I know I can't forward texts, so I installed the Verizon Messages Android app on my work phone, but I can't set it up with my VZW number (I figured it should work because I was able set it up on my tablet at home and it works fine there).
After I install the app on the non-Verizon phone, I open it and I get a screen asking me if I want to use the app for my default messaging app. If I click no, the app closes without giving me a chance to set it up with my personal account like it did when I installed it on my tablet.
I also noticed after I installed it, it's called Messages+ instead of Messages. Are they the same thing?

Hi, has this been resolved? I am in a very similar situation and need the app to work on my new Sprint LG G3 exactly the way it operated on my Sprint iPhone 5S. Here is how it worked on my Sprint iPhone: downloaded the VZ Messages app, followed the prompts to tie it into my work Verizon Galaxy S5 number, and started to receive texts sent to my S5 on my iPhone but in the separate VZ Messages app and not in the native iPhone messages app.
But when I install the VZ Messages app on my Sprint LG G3, it only asks if I want to "Change default message app? Use Message+ instead of Messaging as your default message application?" That is not what I want so I tap "Cancel" and the app closes. I am not prompted with the opportunity to tie it to my Verizon S5 number like I was on the iPhone. The ability to have the VZ Messages app on my Sprint LG G3 along side the native G3 messaging app, the exact same way it worked on my Sprint iPhone, is very important and the whole reason I switched from AT&T to Verizon for my work phone.
