Versamail Suddenly Stopped Working

suddenly monday at 3:30PM my centro stopped pulling emails from the server -although i am getting them on my desktop, i can get on the web (on the centro), i can SEND (!?) from the versamail account and I can get my AOL through both Versamail (although not all of them seem to come in timely) and the AOL for Palm icon.  
So, everything seems to be working internet wise, except that i think the ATT server is not talking with the Roadrunner server to pull in new emails.
no one can figure out what is not right - it seems to be aserver to server issue, but does anyone have any insight? my device is set up correctly and again,that it suddenly stopped pulling in the emails, but everything else is perfectmakes no sense.  I've been using palm for work for the past 4 years - before this was a treo.
i have deleted and reset the versamail about a dozen times, i have soft booted the device at least that many times and when i run through a check to see if the set up is correct and i get a success! message saying that all is fine. then i try to get my emails and according to the device, i don't have any - although my desktop has them all just fine. i've been through ATT (store and online tech support 3 times in last 24 hours, not their problem) and Roadrunner - who says it is not their problem either. The last ATT support conversation resulted in a hard boot of the device, wiping out EVERYTHING, not of which synced when i reinstalled. so i am tired and cranky having to reinstall my phone book my memos my calendar, etc. for the past 7 hours.
i am EXTREMELY upset and pissed... it's impacting business greatly since i am out of the office at meetings for most of my day and i cannot respond to clients.

Sending has been no problem, which is what's perplexing everyone. well, that and that i can get on the web, get my AOL, etc. Been on the phone with EVERYONE... Just got off (again) with the Palm support dude, who, besides sounding like he would rather be playing frisbee, suggested that i do a hard reset of the phone (DO NOT DO THIS! THEY ALSO HAD ME DO THIS THE OTHER NIGHT AND DON'T TELL YOU THAT IN ORDER TO SYNC YOUR PHONE TO YOUR BACKUPS, YOU HAVE TO DELETE ALL VERSAMAIL FILES IN THE BACKUPS OTHERWISE YOU ARE RECOGNIZED AS A NEW USER COMPLETELY AND YOU HAVE REINSERT EVERYTHING IN YOUR PALM!!!! THAT WAS 12- 6 AM).
So, when i told him that was a no-go, he suggested I try Snapperfish and so far it seems to work, but i really don't like the application. besides, i would have to buy snapperfish after my 30 day demo is done.
His sage estimation as to what is the problem with Versamail was "dunno, probably some bug"
Anyway, snapperfish it is until i get a new phone

    It seems when i do something simple as typing text, it'll stop working and give me a "Adobe Photoshop suddenly stop working". My CS4 32bit version seems to working fine with whatever i'm working on. I'm running a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit Ultimate on a new computer Intel quad core with 4gig of ram if that helps. Sorry if this have been asked before but i couldn't find anything on these forums. Thanks in advance.

    Either the physical drive or the enclosure electronics has failed. The light you are seeing is powered by the USB connection, the power, electricity, all USB ports put out. That doesn't mean the actual physical hard drive or the USB to SATA bus electronics are working properly. If it doesn't show in Disk Utility then it is DEAD.
    Most of the time it is the enclosures electronics that fail. Removing the physical drive from the enclosure and put it in another enclosure or using a SATA to USB adapter, one that has it's own AC power supply, might allow you to get the files off the drive.

  • Satellite L300 suddenly stopped working - new motherboard needed

    My Sat L300 suddenly stopped working the other day.
    It kept freezing to start with, then nothing at all. So, I kill-disked the HDD and tried to re-install Windows (XP).
    During the install it threw up a message that some internal components had been incorrectly installed and needed to be reinstalled.
    I was told to remove the memory cards and re-seat them.
    That did not work. I thought that perhaps the HDD was damaged, so I fitted a new one, and started to reinstall Windows.
    Once again, same message. One of my colleagues at work suggested that the Motherboard was probably U/S.
    So I have been trawling the .net to find a replacement. Laptop out of warranty! I am told that some other serial numbered motherboards will work with this laptop. Don't really want to get a motherboard only to find its never going to work! My unit has an SPS number of: V000138330.
    I am being offered one with an SPS of: V000138390.
    Any ideas? Will this one work?
    And if it does, will it give me the functionality that I used to enjoy?!
    Sorry for the long sob story.
    Any advice gratefully accepted.

    Sorry but can you tell us more about your notebook? which model do you have exactly (L300-xxx)?
    Do you have European model?
    Has your notebook valid warranty?
    Maybe I have misunderstood something but why you want to exchange mainboard if the warranty is probably still valid?

    The cause:  It is now clear what caused this problem.  For years I had several “all-day” events in my Outlook calendar (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.).  In May 2012 I decided to make some of them one hour  events so I could add alerts to remind me of the event.  I did this by dragging them in Outlook to the time I wanted and expanding them to the time slot desired and then adding the alarm.
    The symptom:  Syncing stopped working for the calendar but continued working for contacts and notes.  I didn’t realize sync was failing until months later when I missed two very important phone calls, so when I noticed it the cause was not obvious. 
    The failed attempts:  I’m head of a software firm and my calendar sync is a crucial to my business life so I took this on with a vengeance.  From a quick look at events in Outlook and the iPhone I could see that the problem started in May 2012.  Events before May were in both Outlook and the iPhone but events after May were only one or the other.  Unfortunately I had changed several other things at the same time relating to other events so again the cause was not obvious.  MANY calls with AppleCare proved them incompetent so my internal IT guys assisted trying many things.  We tried a huge number of calendar changes and several versions of iTunes, iPhone OS and Office as well as both iPhone 4 and 5, all without success.
    The fix:  After 18 months of frustration, MANY  hundreds of $ expense and MANY hours of wasted time I saw a blog that had a calendar sync  problem and it indicated all day events were related.  I changed the display of the Outlook calendar to the list view, added columns so I could see “all day” event check marks as well as times of events,  sorted on the “all day” event column to move them to the top, and for all events that were “all day” events AND had a start and end time, I removed recurrence and then added the annual recurrence back…
    After I fixed all events that had BOTH “all day” set and had a start/end time, I tried another sync.  It synced for the first time in 18 months! 
    Problem occurred May 2012 – fixed Nov 2013

    Hi, to remove dummy '_ModGrp' entries, rather than crashing the 'Suppr' key on your keyboard, you can use this basic VBA macro (launched for instance from Excel).
    It will recursively remove all '_ModGrp...' folders

    Let your ipod die. Then when it is dead charge it adn turn it back on. After that it should be fine.

    Hi there,
    I have an HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC (QG411PA) running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit for more than a couple of years already. During those times up until now, whenever my laptop is on standby for an hour or so, its keyboard and touchpad suddenly stops working, regardless if its running on battery or on AC power.
    I always ensure that I have an external mouse in order for me to navigate properly and pull up the on-screen keyboard in order to type once that issue arises.
    All appears to be updated in terms of Windows Updates and I even reformatted it, but issue still persists.
    Is this particular issue that I am experiencing a harware issue? Perhaps a software issue? Or maybe a defective model itself?

    Steps to drain the Static charge and loading default BIOS settings to resolve the issue
    Step 01. Turn OFF the Notebook
    Step 02. Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the Battery too
    Step 03. Press and Hold the Power Button of the Notebook for a full minute
    Step 04. Now let's re-insert the battery back in and plug back the Power/AC Adapter
    Step 05. Start the Notebook and keep tapping F10 Key during the startup to access the BIOS

  • Outputs Suddenly Stopped Working.

    I have a 5th gen Ipod that I've taken very good care of. Until yesterday I've had no problems with it at all. I was using the Ipod in my car w/ my Itrip and the Audio suddenly stopped working. I assumed it was the Itrip not working correctly, so I plugged it into a set of speakers (via the bottom output) but that wasn't working either. Then I plugged headphones in and there is no audio feeding through the headphone output either. I can see on the screen that the songs are playing on the ipod, but apparently the outputs are not functioning correctly. I tried all of the "Rs" recommended in troubleshooting but those did not help. Any suggestions?

    i have the exact same problem. Although i am able to here the clicks throught the headphones which makes me wonder that this is something with software. although i have restored and reinstalled and all that, nothing.
    Anyone have a solution?

  • Ethernet suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason

    My late 2011 MBP is usually functioning as a desktop with external display and keyboard/trackpad, so I have it connected via ethernet when it's on the desk.  However, my connection suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason.......... BUT clearly not a router problem as there's no problem with the wifi connection.  System Preferences > Network > Ethernet is telling me:
    Status: Connected.  Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the internet.
    Dunno how this happened, as to my knowledge I didn't actually do anything to cause this problem, just randomly stopped working.  Any solutions much appreciated, thanks :-)

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 with a built in 2.0 USB camera and a windows 7 operating system, the camera suddenly stopped working since about 2-3 weeks ago with unknown reason!
    I already tried system restore, un-installing and re-installing the camera driver, preformed a full scan by kaspersky internet antivirus 2012 (up to date), and I also ran a complete system and drivers troubleshooting ... and the problem still exists ...
    When I use the windows live movie maker it gives me an error saying: cant record audio or video from the selected device. Make sure that the device you're trying to use is installed properly and not currently in use by another program.
    The microphone works well on skype but the camera doesn't open!
    Please tell me how to fix it, what am I missing?

    Usually if the webcam software has been installed, you should be able to start this software going to:
    All Programs -> Toshiba
    There you should find the webcam software check if you can use and control the webcam after this software has been started normally the webcam control bar should pop up if you would move the mouse cursor above the upper display area PS: the bar can be moved to other area too; left right or bottom

    If the technician at the shop is competent, he has given you a diagnosis that should have identified the problem.  You could run the Apple Hardware Test to verify the findings:

    Note the Apple Hardware Test is not definitive.
    Go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com web sites.  They have parts and installation instructions.  To install an Airport card is fairly easy.

    What error message are you getting? If none then in Lightroom Preferences> General> check "reset all warning dialogs"
    Try again and see what message pops up.
