  • Upgrading from Trial version to Developer Edition

We installed SQL server 2014 trial edition in 2014 and the trial period just expired. No longer access SQL server 2014. Also in 2014 I purchased the SQL server 2014 Developer Edition.
I go in the maintenance section of SQL server 2014 and try to upgrade by entering my product key and get an error message that my product key is not valid. I called Microsoft and two different employees confirmed my product key is good.
Should I be able to upgrade from Trial version to Developer Edition by simply entering my product key?
    Thank you

    Hi cguay01,
As other post, you should be able to upgrade from Trial Edition to Developer Edition by entering product key from SQL Server setup wizard, you can follow the steps in this similar
blog. You can also use the following command lines to upgrade SQL Server 2014 Trial to a full version.
    Setup.exe /q /ACTION=editionupgrade /INSTANCENAME=<MSSQLSERVER or instancename> /PID=<PID key for new edition>" /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS
According to your description, the issue that “product key is not valid” might be caused by several reasons such as corrupted installation file, antivirus scanning and so on. There are some proposals for you troubleshooting this issue.
    1. Please ensure that your SQL Server installation file is not corrupted. If you are using ISO download, please copy the content of the ISO image to the local disk on your computer and upgrade SQL Server from there.
    2. Make sure you use corresponding license key matched the edition and version of SQL Server.
    3. Make sure that you don’t exceed the limit of allowed activations of the product key.
    4. Turn off any Anti-virus software when upgrading SQL Server.

  • SAP Server  demo version for development?????

    Hi,
Is there any version of SAP R/3 server for application development?
I develop my external application in Java in Eclipse environment (I use basically Material Management module), but I am using server from my university which is currently unavailable. I need access to server asap and therefore I wonder whether there is any version for development.
Any helpful answer will be properly rewarded.
    BR,
    Rafal

    Hi,
Firstly, thanks for an answer. Points will be rewarded later on.
I understand all these legal issues. Please explain me what means "technology basis release"? I mean, what does it include? Basically I use only a few BAPIs and function modules related to MM module and that's all what I really need. I list them below:
    CALO_INIT_API
    CSAP_MAT_BOM_CREATE
    BAPI_MATERIAL_BOM_GROUP_CREATE
    CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ
    BAPI_MATERIAL_EXISTENCECHECK
    BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST
    BAPI_MATERIAL_GET_DATAIL
    BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA
Do you know whether they are available within so called "technology basis release"? Perhaps it is stupid question, but I'm still new in SAP.
I've got to mention that I sent an email describing my problem to SAP. They've answered that I'm supposed to visit http://sdn.sap.com and there I can get a demo version. I still can't find it (perhaps I'm blind , or more probably names in download section are not so self-evident).
    Looking forward any response.

  • Version of Developer with 8i

Which version of Developer can be used with Oracle 8i on Windows NT?

If you are thinking of Forms and Reports, you can use either Forms 4.5 and Rreport 2.5 or Forms 6i and Reports 6i. Both would work

  • Older versions of Developer Tools?

I am a Mac newbie. I'm also a newbie at Java (just getting ready to start teaching myself). I have a G3 Blue Clamshell laptop with 192 megs of RAM and I'm running 10.3.12. I can't run the latest version of OS X because it requires at least 256 RAM. I've tried installing Java142Update1Tools.dmg but it says it can't install because I don't have the Developer Tools installed. But I can't find the version of Developer Tools that will work on my computer. I haven't been able to find any links to the older versions of the Developer Tools and/or XCode.
Does anyone know where I can find these? Thanks in advance for any and all information you can give.

I'm fairly sure you want Xcode 1.5. It may be on your 10.3 disks already, or you can download it from here:
    http://connect.apple.com
Log in (get a free online membership if you don't have one) and go to Downloads, then Developer tools. Search for "v1.5" (no quotes) and you'll be in the right place. Warning, it is pretty huge (372 MB).

  • Failed to install the trial version of Developer-Dev. Server Rel. 6/6i

About two months ago I bought Robert J. Muller's "ORACLE DEVELOPER Starter Kit" (Oracle Press 1999) with an included CD containing the trial version of Developer-Developer Server Rel 6.0 and Oracle 8i. I must have registered immedialtely in those days. TODAY than I tried to install the software but failed. I probably ran out of the 30 days period (which starts on the day of registration ?). So I'd like to download this software in order to be able to use the book. Where can I find the software?
    Thank you and best regards,

    Hi Andrew,
just for the record, i'm the last one (despite others) running around here and hunting for (virtual) points (for an example you may have a look at this 24 points for a single answer). For me it simply looked like you missed this. Since my crystal ball is out of order at the moment (and my answer has been posted 4 minutes after the corresponding question, which makes it technically impossible to try it out by yourself in this short amount of time), this was meant as a hint, nothing else (therefore the at the end).
Anyway, the only important thing is, that you figured it out (with or without help) finally.
    Kind regards
    Stefan
PS: Nevertheless a thank you to Benny.

  • Two versions of Developer, same machine

I need to use a single machine to access two different applications, one using Developer 2000 v4x and one using Developer v6. What is Oracle's support stance for a machine that has two different versions of Developer loaded on it? Can it work efficiently and/or effectively? How? Thanks for any help.

You can install different versions of Developer on a same machine. Some of the Developer versions supports multiple ORACLE_HOME installations also.
eg: Forms/Reports 6i can be installed in a separate ORACLE_HOME.
The Release notes lists all the Developer versions which are supported on same ORACLE_HOME.
Following are the versions of Developer which can be installed on the same ORACLE_HOME as Developer 6.0,
    1. Developer 1.6.1
    2. Developer 2.1

    Hi Rai,
Sorry about my previous message. Anyways As I was saying I'm trying to Install Developer 2.1 and Developer 6.0 in the Same machine. By default both installations are install in the same Oracle Home Directory C:\ORANT and the same registry Key ORACLE. For Develop 2.1 I have to make some changes to the Registry under the ORACLE key. How can I make this two version coexist in the same machine? What version I have to install first to have a succesfull installation?
Is there any instrucion I can reference to in the Web?
your reply will be greatly appreciated..

  • Is there a way to make Firefox version 20 developer toolbar behave in the same fashion as version 19.

Version 20 places all of developer toolbar components together which is kinda of a killer. Before you could just have the style viewer open on the side with only having a small toolbar at the bottom. Or work with HTML by pressing a single button.
Is there a way to make it behave like it use to without me going back a version. Or a way to just open the style viewer on the side without anything else.
    thank you

The new version is hopeless - which is a pity because this feature is just about the only reason I stick with FireFox as a developer. Previously I could hit Ctrl-shift-I to bring up the nice site panel, which often with wide-screen monitors is dead-space. The HTML panel wasn't shown by default and I seldomly needed it. I could hit ESC to get rid of it.
NOW - the ESC key does nothing so I have to move my hand back to my mouse and click on the 'x' button to get rid of the panel. I can't get rid of the HTML part and the pane takes up the whole of the lower part of my screen which is NOT dead space.
In the truncated CSS panel at the bottom of the page I can only see the first couple of styles - often I want to see further down the list so I just about always have to scroll.
NO: opening in a separate window is NOT a solution!
If you're going to change the layout without first doing some research on how people use a tool then please make sure you have the option in the first few releases to go back to the old layout - just in case, on the off chance, what you're doing is really really silly!

  • Diff in IAS 9i Form Service Version  and Developer 6i Rel 2. Version

    Dear all,
I have noticed that Form Server version which comes with the Oracle 9i Application Server (Forms Service Module) is higher than then Oracle Developer 6i Tool Rel. 2 Form Complier version.
It Creates a problem, Form which is complied in Developer 6i Rel 2. gives blazzing result when it deployed it on Oracle 9i Form Server because of the version diff.
Oracle 9i Form Server Version is always higher than Forms Compiler comes with the latest Developer 6i Rel. 2.
Because of this reason we cannot install Developer 6i Rel. 2 and
Oracle 9i Application Server with Form Service on the same machine.
    How to solve this.
    Best Regards,
    Darshan Desai

If you look in metalink, you can get patches for Forms 6i to patch it up to higher levels than rel 2. Any patch from 4 through to 9 will be newer. Choose which patch you want to bring yourself in line with 9iAS. The patch documentation tells you what version it will bring the forms up to.
Each patch superceeds the last so just pick one and apply it.

  • Version & Upgrade Development Issues

    Hello,
We are currently developing forms and reports using
    Developer/2000 ver 1.3. It's more than a little out-dated so we
are discussing the procedures for an upgrade. We are currently
    facing the version/upgrade dilemma.
The company uses Oracle Applications ver 10.7 smartclient on a
    Oracle 7.3 server.
Should we upgrade to Developer/2000 1.6 or 2.0?
Or should we upgrade directly to Oracle Developer 6.0?
Also does anyone know if an application(forms, reports) designed
in Developer/2000 1.6, 2.0 or Oracle Developer 6.0 will work
properly in Oracle Applications ver 10.7 smartclient?
    Has anyone tried this yet?
How successfull was your applicaiton working?
Sorry about all the version numbers.
    Thank You for any assistance,

  • The required version for developing framework based pages

    hi,
we are using Apps 11.5.9 and upgraded our AOL/J
version to the latest roll-up. we also applied
    FWK.H.
now we want to develop, using jdeveloper, some
custom pages, and we are not sure which version
of jdeveloper is needed for the task.
i understand this should be a special edition
that contains some extra stuff about Apps and Framework.
i'll appreciate any answers about the required version
    and links to related stuff.
    regards,
    Moshe

For Developing OA framework Applications using JDEV, you need to download patch:4045639 from metalink and follow the install instructions.
    Hope this helps.

  • Implementation of multiple versions of Developer/2000

I have not been able to locate any information that discusses
the supported manner that multiple applications are implemented
when multiple applications are using various versions of Oracle
Developer. The only bulletin discusses implementing a single
    version from a network drive.
Our 32-bit Enterprise or corporate environment consists of many
client/server applications most of which only make use of the
SQLNET to attach to Oracle ver 7 & 8 databases.
Currently there is only one application (DMIS) that is running
    Forms 4.5.7.15.3 and Reports 2.5.5.19.0 from Developer 2000 v
1.3.2 in the enterprise but other Oracle Developer appls are
    positioning themselves for rollout.
The current operating environment looks like this:
Application Server - contains the application's runtimes on a
    network drive (L:)
    L:\DMIS\RUNTIMES (.fmx, .rdf, .mmx, .pll...)
Middleware Server - contains the current Oracle home dir
V:\APPS\ORANT (v1.3.2) that this application uses
    NT 4.0 client -
    > The Icon properties are:
    >
    > Path: V:\APPS\ORANT\BIN\F45RUN32.EXE
    > MODULE=L:\DMIS\RUNTIMES\DMISMAIN
    > Working dir: L:\DMIS\RUNTIMES
    >
    > Oracle Registry: Points to Oracle runtimes on V:
Now there are two other applications that are scheduled to
rollout into production from two different organizations. One is
developed using Developer 5.x and the other Developer 6.x Forms
    and Reports.
    >
My main question revolves around how do I approach this:
    1) Do I create 2 other directories on the Middleware Server
/orant5x and /orant6x and perform the Oracle Developer 5.x
and 6.x installs from the same NT workstation?
    2) If so, will there be key conflicts created as a result of
having 3 separate Oracle Home references? What would my Oracle
    registry look like?
    3) What about the System Environment Path for ORANTxx\BIN?
    4) What about the System Support Files that are copied into
    C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32?
Will there be any conflicts on the NT client with the different
.DLLs that need to be installed in \WINNT|SYSTEM32?
    Also:
    5) What about Forms and Reports backward compatibility between
    these versions?
Would I be able to run a 4.5 Form and 2.5 Report with 5.x or 6.x
    Form and Report runtimes?
    Please help!!!

Aren't you supposed to study for your stats testtonight? Hm? ;-)
No, mom, I've been studying all week and have
prepared to the level I feel is necessary to perform
satisfactorily on the test (despite the ill-wishes of
certain unnamed troll-kin lurking about in the
shadows). I have budgeted an appropriate amount of
time to participate in the flinging of silly
particles (an activity in which you seem particularly
engaged in today, I might add). ;o)How many times have I told you: never mind that troll-kin, it's not even properly
potty trained; no go clean up your room; chop-chop on the double and don't
you dare criticising your old Mom like that. I'm telling your Father about you
when he comes home from the pub tonight.
Now, what was I fixin' again? Ah, yes, rats au bain marie.
    kind regards,
Jos (with a high squeaky voice ;-)

Supported Java Development Kit (JDK) are from SAP AG or Oracle. Note that the JDK you use must be the 32-bit version. You can either use:
JDK provided with the SAP JVM 6 "Windows Server on IA32 32-bit".
You can start the installation process from here.
    JDK from Oracle.
You need JDK version 1.6.0_7 or higher, 32-bit. You can download a JDK from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads.
