I have no idea if it is harmful to my system. It seems to be constant each time i close firefox.

This can be caused by clearing the cookies via [[Clear Recent History]].<br />
* Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" > [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings
You can try to exclude the cookies to test that.<br />
You can let all cookies expire when you close Firefox to remove unwanted cookies and keep the ones with an allow exception.
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Keep until": "I close Firefox"
If you use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the cookies when you close Firefox then Firefox also tries to clear the cookies from plugins like Flash and starts a plugin-container process for each plugin and possibly for each cookie (?) and that can add extra time if there are a lot of cookies to remove and also can cause an unresponsive script error to appear.

D.p.middleton the Adobe Application Manager has been available for quite some time. It not only allows Creative Cloud users to install their applications but also downloads and applies applicable updates. In addition it is also responsible for the licensing and managing your agreement to the terms and conditions of the EULA.
2. this could be due to you selecting a trial subscription to the Creative Cloud? If you go to one of the Adobe Creative products and select Help>Updates it will launch the update portion of the Adobe Application Manager which I believe is the portion you are looking for?
#3 I believe this was already mostly covered in the answer to #2.
#4 the Adobe Application Manager also receives periodic updates which affects both perpetual and Creative Cloud subscription users.

Confused about word processing on macs - do i need to buy extra software?

Hi, am about to buy a new macbook (first mac- am switching over) but am very confused about the word processing facilities which come with. do i need to buy microsoft office for mac to use word etc or can i use something similar which comes with OS X (is it text edit?)? is this compatible with a word environment at work? thanks!

I've personally always hated Microsoft Word, but have it because that's the "standard," and at the time I bought my MacBook, the Intel Mac version of NeoOffice (which is free) wasn't out yet. NeoOffice is now out for Intel-based Macs, and it seems to be every bit as powerful as Microsoft Office (and quite compatible).
However, for most things I do, I've found I actually like Pages the best. It's very easy to use, though if you do any special things in word processing it might not meet all your needs. It will open Word documents, and if you have to send something as a Word document, you can export it in Word format.
I would recommend that you try out the Pages trial that came with your Mac, and download NeoOffice for free. Try them both - go with what you like and what works best for you. I use Pages the most, NeoOffice for things Pages won't do, and Word if I'm forced to. (And I always have my old WordPerfect that I've used for years that I can run in Windows.)

You are not speaking to Apple here. So none of us can "fix it."
TRy try quitting the Photos app followed by a reset of the ipad. To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app. Then Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

It is normal speed when we didn't use network service name to connect to the database, such as:
sqlplus username/password
But when we use the network service name to connect to database, it became very very slowly, about 25 seconds. the command is as following:
sqlplus username/passwd@*name*
And "tnsping name" is normal, with in 10 mses.

Very brief lag spikes - please help!

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me with a small problem I'm having.
I've began to notice that I'm getting very brief spikes of lag during internet browsing/gaming/skyping and teamspeak sessions.
It mainly occurs when I use TeamSpeak or Skype. For the most part, everything is fine; however every 10 minutes or so I won't be able to hear anyone else (other users can't hear me either) for a few seconds. It may not sound like a big deal but when it repeatedly happens and I'm trying to have a conversation with someone it can be very annoying indeed. I thought it may have just been a problem with TeamSpeak but I have noticed the exact same problem happens with Skype as well. I also have lag spikes during my gaming sessions.
Does anyone know what could be causing this problem or what I could do to fix it?
I'd greatly appreciate any help.

Specially about the battery, it lasts very little of I expected. (About 4-6 hours, ligh off, equalizer rock, moderate volume). I know that IF I turn OFF these settings the battery is extend, but these settings are basic! I can't live without them off...
The "life-use" of Li-ion batteries is to little too (about 500 cycle-charges)
Do you know or somebodys knows some way to extend battery charge?

Is it actually running out, or are you going by the meter? The vast majority of people who have this problem aren't actually running out of power. They only think they are. The meter is very inaccurate. After my iPod reaches zero, my iPod continues to work for five hours or more.
If you want the meter to be more accurate, let the iPod run down completely, but don't do this too often. Just once in a blue moon. This will calibrate the meter but has nothing to do with the battery itself.

If you don't like Li-ion, the bad new for you is that Li-ion batteries are now used in all products by all manufacturers. ALL rechargeable batteries, no matter what type they are have a limited number of charge cycles - your phone, your laptop, everything. The only difference with Apple is that they're telling you this up front.

No, but if you follow the advice above, hopefully this won't be an issue.

About multi process access BDB question

I am designing one system using BDB.I have some questions about multi process access BDB.
1.If there are two process, they are shared BDB cache or every one has self BDB cache? (My understanding is every process has cache by itself.)
2.If one process write BDB and at the same time one process read BDB,how to make read processs can read data which write by write process just now?
