Very low audio on my new Satellite L755-M1KS

Hi,
First of all, I couldn't find my model here on this website or on any of Toshiba's websites for that matter which is very weird.
My problem is, the Audio is very very low since day one when I bought it.
The laptop is still under warranty and I don't know if it is a software problem or a hardware one.
I'm located in Abu Dhabi, I don't know where is the toshiba support center here and I don't know why this particular model can't be found anywhere!!
Please help!
Thank You
Toshiba Satelite L755 - M1KS

Unfortunately I cannot find your notebook on Toshiba page too.
Anyway, if you are using original Toshiba recovery image (original preinstalled OS) and you are not happy with it contact nearest authorized Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
You can find ASP on http://gulf.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/en/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/
Check it out.

    IDT High Definition Audio CODEC v. 6.10.6395.0.  5/21/ 2012
Upon installation I have very low audio output!   Screen Shot    Screen Shot 2
        I have tried:
    un-installing and reinstalling the drivers.
Installed the original drivers via HP's website sp53222 for my particular model.  HP  Pavilion HPE  h8-1070t
Any suggestions? would be greatly appreciated.  It would appear IDT who I also emailed and they never responded is responsible for a codec pack that is not fully functional with this motherboard.

Did you access the Catalyst Control Center in programs and look at the latest updates for your graphics card and make sure you didn't download the audio drivers they self install and are checked automatically each time you attempt an update for the card.
Did you right click on the speaker in the system tray and go into recodring devices make sure everything is setup propper there sometimes they too can change.
I'm familiar with cakewalk but never used it on Win7 its been many years since I played around with that. If you are using the onboard audio card and it has worked before and not now if I were in your situtation I would attempt to reisntall the dirvers via device manager they do sometimes become corrupt especially if you picked up any malware that was removed by your antivirus software due to the drivers and malware both reside inwindows\system32.
After the reisntall of the drivers if the issue is not resolved I would upgrade the audio card with a  PCIe x1 component such as:
Creative Labs SB1040 PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card
     http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-SB1040-Express-Blaster/dp/B000W7PNZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357...
After I paid for a real soundcard with Recording: 24-bit/96kHz and Sound Output Mode - 7.1 and bypassed my onboard audiocard I never had any issues again. My onbaord worked too in the begining for certain things than stopped mysteryously and the reinstallation became ineffective after a while so I decided the money for the tower was invested mainly in the CPU i7 the RAM and HDD.
*** Note if you did install the audio drivers for the graphics card you will have to change the onboard audio in the BIOS from automattic to enabled. Otherwise you will have no sound at all. So never take the audio drivers for the graphics card unless you need them for DVR recording or something. The PCIe audio cards are never effected by this however only the onboard audio. Another reason onboard is a cheap way to go and HP bundles it as cheap as it can my friend.
    Good Luck again!

  • Very low audio sound

Its a hp pavilon dv6 notebook - serial # 5ch1311yvr - windows7 64 bit -I have tried all sound options I could find, one day the sound was working good and the next day very low volume, no new programs were installed ad no changes that I am aware of, and there are no error messages and all the test say that the sound card is working. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi
You have a couple of options as I see it.
Go to device manager and uninstall the Sound driver and restart and unit will install the driver automatically.
Try doing System restore to the date when the unit was working fine.
Try to update the driver from hp.com website for Audio & Bios.
Let us know how it goes!

  • Very low audio quality after amber update

After installing amber update audio quality and volume has dropped significantly! Volume through speakers is alot lower, and when plugged into headphones audio lacks quality and depth. There is barely any bass and volume is very low, sounds like listening to a clock radio very disappointing, as audio quality on my 920 was very very good the best of any phone so far before amber update!

i haven't noticed that with my 920. have you tried performing a soft reset and also check that you are up to date with all the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store?

  • L430 - very low Audio output

we have bought many L430 notebooks and with Windows 7 the audio output is very low... we have tried with both realtek and windows HD drivers but the result is poor out put...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Deinstall Dolby Advanced Audio and then Realtek Audio. Then try installing Realtek Audio drivers from your SWTOOLS folder, but DO NOT install Dolby Advanced Audio. See if there are any changes regarding your output level(s). If not, download Realtek Audio drivers from Lenovo Driver Matrix website (note: for me those drivers, 5/6/2013, are refusing to install - says "bad driver something something"), but DO NOT install Dolby Advanced Audio. See if there are any changes regarding your output level(s). In any case, be sure to (properly) deinstall Dolby Advanced Audio. I recently had problems with Dolby Advanced Audio after upgrading Realtek Audio drivers, and the only way to get sound working again was to install Realtek Audio drivers from SWTOOLS folder. I skipped Dolby AA altogether and everything is working fine. Also, worth mentioning, restart your computer after installing Realtek drivers. After restart, make sure your mic/volume mute buttons are working properly.

  • Line in recorde mostly noise and very low audio (please help)

i think i may be giving my client a lot of money back...
about 20 minutes into a video gig i realized that the line in audio i was getting on my camera was not working properly so i pulled the plug and jsut picked up from the camra mic, but i am left with about... 18 minutes of very very poor audio. are there any brave and generouse soundtrack pros who can tell me waht setting to apply to make this "listenable"
you can download a 30 second snipit here: http://www.video-guy.com/forums/ami_out_ofluck.zip
i have soundtrack, but rarely use it, so like i said. if anyone would be kind enough to hold my hand and tell me what buttons to push i would be very much in your debt.
heck, i'll even do some free photoshop, or final cut work for you.
    thanks.

First off, yes you're pretty much out of luck. I listened to your sample, and there's probably nothing you could do to make this sound good. With enough filtering, you could make it so the voice is marginally intelligible, but it's never going to sound like a good recording.
Second, while this web forum is good for discussion about Soundtrack Pro's features and how to use them, I've found that Usenet has much more meaningful discussions on audio editing techniques in general. A couple newsgroups I read religiously are rec.arts.movies.production.sound and rec.audio.pro.

  • Audio fluctuating on new Satellite P505D

Can someone tell me how to fix my speakers in my new laptop I have tried redownloading the drivers and it hasnt worked also the dolby control center was missing and I downloaded that file but it hasnt helped the speakers from sounding like the volume is going up and down all the time.

    P505-S8945             (Current BIOS)
Win Vista 64 SP2    (All Current Updates)
    You aren't alone.
I actually returned my first P505-S8945 to Newegg because of this issue.  I was up and down all the drivers, settings, etc, and could not get the sound to be acceptable. The fluctuatuation is mainly noticable, bady, with music.  Likewise, I tried re-installing drivers as well.  I went through the gauntlet of "tech support" with Toshiba and they basically just re-went through some of the very minor things that I had already done.  We concluded that it was a hardware issue with the speakers.  However, my replacement P505-S8945 has the same problem, although not as bad as the first one did.  I had to accept that this is a driver issue and not a hardware issue.
I have five OS's on my laptop and can offer you this:  there are no problems with the audio in Win XP and Linux.  Under Linux, you only get PCM, but it is acceptable.  Also, under Linux, when you plug your headphones into the headphone jack, the headphones work but you continue to get sound out of the speakers.  The speakers don't mute when headphones are plugged in.  Its a kernel issue that can be fixed my compiling a custom kernel.  There are references to this specific issue on the web.  Another thing on the "to do" list, wish I had discovered it earlier though and would have fixed it at the same time that I fixed the firewire isochronous "out of synch" issue.

  • Very Low Audio after Updating iPod wVideo 60 GB

After updating to latest software for iPod with video 60 GB, the audio on all of my songs is extremely low. I have to turn the volume nearly to max to hear at a modest level. I also get Zero bass now.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

Thanks dude for the help, that's a very useful tip for many reasons.
It didn't resolve my problem and then I recalled that I have another set of headpones from my old iRiver. I plug those headphones (which were used excessively for 2 years) and my sound is instantly back.
Basically, iPod headphones (that I have had since November 2005) are totally shot. They are absolute crapola. Geeze, they might as well sell the **** things without headphones, just go straight to after-market set.

  • Need help. VERY low audio with Tivo series 2 and Fios

I just had Fios installed and want to use my Tivo Series 2 DVR.  However, the audio can barely be heard.  Any advice?
    Here is my setup
    1.  Motorola set top digital box with HDMI output to Television.  Everything is Excellent
    2.  Motorola set top box S video output to Tivo.  Red and white AV to Tivo audio input.
In this setup, my standard def channels have excellent picture, but the volume is just way to low.
I have run the Tivo setup procedures.
When I try running Coax from the set top box to Tivo, I get NOTHING.  No audio or video.
Is the motorola incapable of putting out enough audio via AV when HDMI is also connected?
    Help
    (please)

    Keyboards:
The motorola is connected simultaneously to TV via the HDMI output, and to my TIVO, via S Video and AV outputs.
When the TV source is set to HDMI, all is perfect (in fact, stunning).  Great sound.
When I change the TV to receive S Video from the Tivo, I receive an excellent standard def picture, but audio that I have to crank up to full scale.
I have not tried Motorola to Tivo alone, with no HDMI connection to the TV.
I do think your idea to use a second box (a simple SD digital converter) to hook up to the Tivo makes great sense.  If I split the feed, sending one to the HD settop box, and another to Tivo, then I get the best of both worlds.   I will get HD from the motorola, and can separately record on the Tivo.
I am still a bit concerned about audio volume, although the Tivo boards seem to say that Tivo works well with Fios.

  • Very Low Audio in DVD Studio

FCP project with 20 short timelines -- all single video tracks, stereo audio tracks, two filters: EQ (to pump highs and lows), Compression (to make it pop just below zero DB), and sometimes a little gain.
All rendered, of course. The 20 timelines go two directions in Compressor: to H.264 via a Matrox Mini, and to the standard Best DVD compressor which makes the M2V video and the AC3 audio files. The H.264 file is the same audio level as the FCP timelines -- pretty hot at just below zero DB. BUT, the DVD audio files are way low -- maybe a third of the original audio. Why? Is Compressor or DVD Studio Pro "interpreting" the audio somehow? Almost feels its adding a limiter to the AC3 file.

Totally agree Steve - the BBC have said the same to me in the past
Dialogue Normalization is a funny old setting - it actually refers to the amount of attenuation applied to the audio source with -31db meaning no attenuation, which should mean that the volume of the audio is preserved throughout the compression process.
There's a lot more to this, of course, have a look here for some plain explanations:

  • Very Low Audio on T115

I just bought a T115S1100 and the volume is extremely low.  I have read complaints about this on this model before.  Someone said to delete the sound driver and on reboot a generic one would be created with much higher volume.  If this is correct could someone tell me specifically how to do this?
    Thanks in advance... Bob

Toshiba system downloads are here, and they're free:

  • 3gs has very low audio sample rate

Every time I listen to Pandora on my 3gs the sample rate is so low that i can barely tell what song is playing. The same thing happens on sirius and even on locally stored apps played on the ipod app. In Pandora there's a setting to increase sample rate, but that didn't work. Anyone else have this problem?

Try another camera, it could be a quirk of your Sony.
    happy cutting.

  • HT1435 very low battery warning..new battery..still reads same.have left plugged in for hours,nothing .?

Older 5th gen 30 gb. worked fine when i bought it used.was set up for mac before I received it. battery warning light came on..but wouldnt recharge. so I replaced the battery and still reads same messgae after repeatedly trying to charge it. ??

No, it does not matter if it was previously used with a Mac.  That's just a matter of the hard drive disk format being used.  It just gets reformatted during a Restore.
It sounds like the problem is more than just the battery not charging.  At the very least, you need it to complete a Restore.  Try putting into Disk Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1363
Optionally, shut down your computer and disconnect all of your USB devices.  Start up with only standard keyboard and mouse connected.
Run iTunes and connect iPod to a direct USB on computer.  If the iPod's battery is too low to put into Disk Mode while disconnected, connect it first, then try to put it into Disk Mode.  If iTunes sees the iPod in Disk Mode, it may say something about "recovery" and prompt you to do a Restore.

  • Missing audio in some applications and very low audio in others

    Hi,
I am using Gnome 3 with Arch Linux and I started to notice that there is no sound with certain applications... but for the majority of the system the sound still works. For example, normally, when I click on the volume icon and move the slider up and down it usually has a "pop" sound with varying degrees of loudness based on where it is on the slider... that is completely silent now. When I am using other applications (such as cmus, pianobar, ..etc) the volume is really low even when I put the volume for that application up to 100%.
Additionally, I was trying to pinpoint exactly what could be causing this problem and I remember that it happened when I was using pidgin and I went to the volume settings and moved the sliders all the way up and back down to the middle again.. after that it hasn't been the same.

Nouveau has a bug currently. Other drivers have been fixed, nouveau not yet. The cause is the way cairo-1.12 does things, it required patches in X and all open drivers. Keep an eye on this: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29495
Also, unrelated to that, you don't have hardware opengl acceleration. You're probably missing nouveau-dri.
