can any one help me , i am getting frm-41214 when i pass a paramter list containing record group as data parameter to run_report_object as parameter, calling report from forms 10g, but when i dont pass the parameter list the report runs displaying no data(as it should do), otherwise it dont run and display the frm-41214

Try using a lexical parameter(&parm_1) for a string of values or a bind parameter(:parm_1) for a single value

Can anyone help me in that problem?
I have a database item in the block as a list item with combo box style and I use this code in WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE at the form module level to populate that combo box list:

That code worked very well and without any problem, but when I change the list item from combo box style to poplist style then the forms give that error:
FRM-41337: Cannot populat the list from record group
And an additional null/blanke element appears in the poplist with original element that come from RECORDGROUP.
So can anyone help me to solve that problem please?

First, how I can assign a default or initial value DYNAMICALLY to my poplist.Set the default-value to a parameter like :PARAMETER.MYPARAMETER then you can assign the desired default-value to the parameter.
second, if I have popliste say X for example depend on another poplist say Y ,so when I put the code to populate popliste X on WHEN-LIST-CHANGED on popliste Y and make query then the >forms return FRM-40301 Query caused no records to be retrieved ,but when I have a copy for that code in WHEN-LIST-CHANGED and put it in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE at the form >module the form work and returns records, so is it any error or exception in what I did.Can't answer that, you should check :SYSTEM.LAST_QUERY to see why the query does not returnany records.
At the last, which better to put the code for popliste in PRE-FORM trigger at the form module or in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE at the form module.I would use the PRE-FORM-trigger

Urgent - How to pass value to Multiline container element in workflow

Hi,
I hav a requirement as below...
1) In a Bus. Object, there is a method with a parameter which is Multiline.
2) When I execute it directly from Bus. Object, I am able to populate any no. of lines to the multiline parameter & execute it. It is working correctly.
3) Now I have created a task for the same Method & used it in my workflow.
4) I want to pass multiline values to the parameter from workflow.
5) I dont have any internal table being filled in the previous steps. I directly want to assign variables or constants to it.
How can I do it????

I am also facing same type of problem. i am new to workflow. i am using using FM sap_wapi_write_container. to write into the container. but here my problem is i don know wat is the element name to refer to the value. if i give any element naem its taking as separate element & not as the same multiline container. i hope u will be able to assist me since u have worked on the same type of problem.

i am developed a master detail form.in the master level one column is EMP_GRADE.these values like(A1,B1,C1,D1).
In the detail form one more column is DETAIL.in this DETAIL coloumn i am adding LOV.In the LOV my query Like this
SELECT DESCRIPTION FROM FND_LOOKUP_VALUES WHERE LOOKUP_TYPE=EMP_GRADE.
Here IF emp_grade =A1 then LOV shows 10 values
next IF emp_grade =B1 then LOV shows 10 values,but MY requirmrnt is IF EMP_GRADE is B1 then LOV show the B1 values and A1 Values.total 20 values.
it is possible or not?
any one help me..please.

In 10G and above you could use the CASE-statement.
In Forms 6i you could use a UNION ALL, maybe like this.
SELECT DESCRIPTION FROM FND_LOKUP WHERE LOOKUP_TYPE='A1' and :EMPGRADE='A1'
UNION ALL
SELECT DESCRIPTION FROM FND_LOKUP WHERE LOOKUP_TYPE IN ('A1' , 'B1') AND :EMPGRADE='B1'

Please tell me how to pass data from list display to internal table. Some fields in the list display are input fields .These are added at run time and these added values should be stored in the internal table

Frm - 41337 - can not populate the list from record group

I have created a form with 4 combo boxes. And i am trying to populate the 4 combo boxes dynamically.
Here is my table structure.
BUS_FUNCTION VARCHAR2(500),
SEQ NUMBER,
STEP1 VARCHAR2(500),
STEP2 VARCHAR2(500),
STEP3 VARCHAR2(500),
STEP4 VARCHAR2(500),
KEYSTEP VARCHAR2(4000),
OBJ_NAME VARCHAR2(500),
SME VARCHAR2(50)
In the fist combo box i am retriving bus_function and second seq and third step1.
i wrote a trigger when_new_form_instance and i am calling a procedure from the trigger.
here is my procedure code.

Hi ,
1.)You must have to create a EO based on custom table and then VO based on this EO eventually to save the values in DB
2.) the row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED); is used to set the the status of row as inialized ,this is must required.
3.) When u will create the VO based on EO the viewattributes will be created in VO which will be assigned to the fields to take care the db handling .
You must go thtough the lab excercise shipped with you Jdeveloper ,there is a example of Create Employee page ,that will solve your number of doubts.

You can create a number range(SNRO) to get the continuous numbers.You can use the FM 'NUMBER_GET_NEXT' to get the next number from number range.

Default method - how to pass value to method container?

I am dealing with a hyperlink in 'Objects and Attachements' section of the workitem.When i click on the link, the default method of the business object gets called automatically.
My question is: How to pass values to the default method (i.e. method container) as i don't invoke the method in my workflow explicitly? The method gets called when we click on the hyperlink.

Hello Monica,
a default method doesn't require parameters (and cannot make use of them), as they are designed to be called from various situation, such as the view from a workflow container, the display button within a workitem or the attachment list. So this is part of the system design.
To make an object dependent of workitem values I usually follow two different design patterns:
1) Using a flowitem/workitem instance with a special default method
- Create a subobject from type WORKITEM (if I'm going to use values from the current workflow instance) or subobject from type WORKINGWI (if I'm going to use values from the current dialog workitem).
- Do not make a general substitution for this new object type
- If using a ZWORKITEM, create an instance of this object type before the dialog step and then pass this object to the dialog workitem
- If using ZWORKINGWI, assign the object instance during the data flow to the step.
- In the properties of the object choose (any one) default method
- Within the coding you have the reference to the workitem/flowitem as object-key-... and you can further use functions/methods to read the workitem/flowitem container and do whatever has to be done
2) Retrieving values from the current workitem on-the-fly
Within the coding of the default method call the function module SWO_QUERY_REQUESTER that returns the instance/id of the current workitem-in-work (with is also set when using the hyperlink from a workitem). If the list is empty, there's no active workitem, otherwise use functions/methods to read the workitem container.

How can I display a list of records from a JSP to my Midlet ??

I'm new in J2ME. I have been strugling with this problem for weeks now. All I find on the net is some theory and is not helping me much. Here the deal
I have created a Midlet that shoud display a certain list which is from the remote database. The list comes from a JSP file in the server. When I use the browser I can see the list.
The problem comes when I have to take the same list and output it in my midlet file. Then finding the selected index of the selecte item of the same list and using it somewhere else.
I would appreciate it if somone could help me !!
My head is speaning now !!! If you want me to post my code so one could identidy the proble, I don't mind !! Help please !!
