  • MSI GTX 970 Golden edition gone for good?

Can't find this card anymore.  Only found it at newegg, but it's out of stock and has been for a bit, and one other company at a higher price that I've never heard of and don't trust.
Are they making any more of these?

    Hi,
We've no information about this to be honest. Best if you ask NewEgg or MSI:

  • REQUEST: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G original bios

My S/N is 602-V316-03SB1409075224 I would like to request the original vBIOS that my card came with.
My card had problems with the fans randomly spinning and so I updated to the appropriate bios which was NV316MH.182 and that fixed the problem. However I have noticed since updating that the noise from the card has increased when playing games and today whenever starting any game I get an instant crash and my whole system resets, this happens now even when I'm not playing a game and my computer has been randomly restarting and I know it's a problem with the GPU.
I am worried that it is most likely that the GPU is failing but I would like to try flashing the card to its original stock vBIOS and seeing if that fixes anything. Even if you don't believe the vBIOS is the problem, I would still very much like to have the stock vBIOS for my card. Thanks!
    I'm on windows 8.1 64 bit.

  • REQUEST: Latest BIOS update for MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G card

Hi, I'd like the latest BIOS version for my MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G card. I don't know what the serial number is, I don't have the box anymore. I've attached my BIOS file I saved through GPU-z. Thanks in advance!

    Hi
Check graphics card itself, should have a sticker with S/N. Else it might be hard (or impossible) to provide correct vBIOS.

  • MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G Issues & BIOS Update

     bios.zip (136.34 kB - downloaded 37 times.)
    Hello,
ever since I bought my GTX 970 I've had about 5 BSOD's while playing CS:GO and GTA:V. I am not sure whether it's a GPU issue or not, but I never had that issue before (at least with CS:GO).
    Tech specs:
    MB: z87-pro
    CPU: i7-4770K
GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
    OS: Win7 x64 SP1
    latest OS updates
    latest nVidia drivers
I've been wondering if there's a BIOS update for my GPU? I also tried just today to download MSI Live Update 6 but after executing the installer it displays "This application does not support this platform."
    I've attached my GPU Bios.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
With LiveUpdate, don't worry. Many users got issue with it, I believe MSI is aware of this already.
Is your motherboard running latest BIOS?
Is it known to work fine with other graphics card??
Do you have any OC on your CPU/RAM? (RAM OC=more than 1600MHz). Remove and try again.
What did the BSOD say? Error code?
    Heya, thanks for the reply.
That's good to know for Live Update, just wanted to let you know. Before my GTX970 I was using an Asus GTS 450 (I know, lame) and used integrated graphics a couple of times but never had BSOD's during games with either of those. I didn't take a note of the BSOD error code, can I find a log somewhere on my system to upload it?
OC-wise everything is running on stock clock, BIOS is also latest version (2103, according to Asus).

  • PC freezes at BIOS with new MSI GTX 970 gaming

Went from a Windforce 670 to a MSI GTX 970 gaming, and the PC locks at the startup bios screen. I get 1 beep every 10-15 secs or so.
I've tried reseating the card, memory sticks, checking connections and nothing. If I put the windforce 670 back in, the pc is perfectly fine.
    Specs
    Windows 7 64 Bit
    Intel i7 2600 @ 3.4 GHz
    BIOS AMI 7.14
    DDR3 ram 8gb @ 677mhz
    Corsair GS600 PSU
    Pegasus Corporation 2AC2 mobo

    Hi,
Yes you will need to reinstall Operating System, type the activation key in, install fresh drivers etc. You can save documents, backup anything like installing packages for favourite software (e.g. CCleaner) but all other has to be reinstalled.
I would suggest Z97 PC Mate with i5 4690K, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cooler. Personal budget choice but still with decent performane (quad CPU and OC availability). RAM+PSU+Case you currently have should work fine.

  • Msi gtx 970 Fans Randomly Turning On When Idling???

So basically I have had my msi gtx 970 for a couple weeks and the fans seem to behave as normal? Now once when I was idling I noticed the fans spin up and immediately spin down straight away. So basically now every 30 seconds the fans will spin up and spin straight back down which is weird. The temps are fine and I have checked this using MSi Afterburner. The fans I'm pretty sure are meant to stay off under 65 which it is so why are the fans spinning up. I don't seem to notice it noise wise but I don't know what it is happening. When I check the Fan % in Msi After Burner it doesn't log the fan ramping up but the 'fan tachometer, RPM' section shows it going up and back down, I will link a picture of this. I will link you the youtube video which I highly reccomend watching for a better idea of what's happening. I show you it spin up once and back down then a waiting period and then it doing it again.

I may have found a problem with MSI's fan settings on these cards.
Is this the problem? I don't know. But it does not seem to be set correctly IMO.
As you can see below the fans with the OEM bios are never actually set to 0 rpm. When they are off they are actually being told to spin at 1% power at 23 rpm.
    I have changed mine.
The fans no longer randomly spin with the new drivers. And I have not had any more problems with one fan not spinning up ( although its too early to declare victory on that problem ).
My fans now start up at 50c and even when overclocked to 1503MHZ I have not gone over 65c at 68% fan speed.
Went ahead and copied your settings and everything seems to be working as it should  now. Thanks
    **EDIT**
Just tested it by getting gpu up to 50c and it seems to work. After it drops below 50 it takes a bit for the red fan to spin back down (stayed around 44% for a good 3-5 mins). After the red fan dropped to 0% the black fan slowly dropped down to 29% and that's where it is sitting right now. I think this is per design though since I remember my gpu doing this even on .16. The cooldown process or something I guess.
And at the end of this post black fan is back down to 0%. Good call on the problem looks like it's fixed .

  • B2 Error with new MSI GTX 970 :(

    Hi there team!
Just registered to try and get help. I spent around 6 hours researching + trying all the suggestions throughout many different forums, but the B2 error still persists. I am currently running the following spec:
Mobo - MSI Z68A-G43 (G3), with version 4.30 ( I flashed bios last night and still no help)
    CPU - Intel® Core™ i5-2500K Processor, 3.5GHz etc.etc.
    RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb at 1333MHz
    GPU - MSI GTX 970 GAMING Twin Frozr V 4GB GDDR5
PSU - Cooler Master Silent Pro 700W
    I have tried:
-Taking out the card and using the on-board graphics to flash the bios to later version, No help. (during this process, the B2 error does NOT show up)
-Upgraded the card to latest nVidia drivers, even uninstalled and re-installed them. No help.
-Upgraded all the drivers from MSI, i.e. chipset etc. through Live Update 6. No help.
When the card is in, I cannot even access bios, it just gets stuck at B2 screen for like a minute, and then carries on with the boot process. I am able to play games etc. after the booting, but this error for sure should not be there when the PC boots up. I didn't have any issues with my old GTX 560 TI. I've read different forums saying that it might have something to do with the mobo thinking that something has to be connected to the on-board graphics; or that flashing BIOS helped a lot of users, but not me :(.
I don't have a second PC to test the card on.
Literally, I would try anything, please someone just help :(( This card is a beast and I wanna be able to properly use it and not having to worry about this error.
Thank you very much guys, hope someone can help!

Man thank you so much! It is finally working!!! Thank you!!!! ))) It is showing correct version in BIOS, does not show B2 error whatsoever, all done! )
Thanks for your time! You can close thread, but it's very useful for anyone that has this issue!
Wich version of BIOS do you have installed? Can you OC your processor with new BIOS?

  • MSI GTX 970 not being detected on first PCI-E 3.0 slot of MSI Gaming 5 motherboa

    Hi guys.
So I recently got myself a new build and some of the components include a MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G GPU and a MSI Gaming 5 mobo. When installing the GPU to the motherboard I found that for some reason nothing was being displayed on the screen. The screen wouldn't display a no signal message but it would stay black when I booted the PC up. However, when I plugged the GPU into the 2nd PCI-E 3.0 slot it would work and display on the screen. I read on a Tom's Hardware thread of someone with a similar problem and it was recommended to him to check his CPU for bent pins and he later confirmed that was the problem. I have tried the same, but as far as I can tell all of the pins were in their natural state and couldn't find any bent ones.
But I also discovered something else which really started to confuse me... When I plug in my old GPU (a Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti) into the first PCI-E 3.0 slot, it would work normally?! Why would it work fine with my GTX 560 but not my GTX 970?? I have tried everything. Even stripping the pc down to the most basic parts on a wooden surface and tested everything but it's still the same problem. I have also made sure that the display setting in the BIOS is set to PEG, but it would still not display anything when the GTX 970 is in the first slot, but if I plug the HDMI cable directly into my motherboard, even with the GTX 970 installed on the first slot, it would display normally. Also, in my BIOS it doesn't even detect anything being in the first PCI-E 3.0 slot in the Board Explorer menu. But when I installed it in the 2nd PCI-E 3.0 slot the Board Explorer menu would recognize it, but would say it's running at x8 and not x16. Should I be worried about this?
    My full setup:
    MSI Gaming 5 Motherboard
    Intel i7 4790K
    MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
    Kingston HyperX 1333Mhz 8Gb (2x4Gb)
    Corsair RM 750 PSU
    Corsair H80i CPU cooler
Any advice from you guys on what to do or what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated!

remove power cord from the PSU and do >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
also reseat the card into PCI-E slot 1 and make sure its fill very well into the slot

This topic has been moved to Graphics Cards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=251843.0

    Hey there,
Noticed that my BIOS drivers were outdated so i updated them (Z68A-GD65 G3, version: 25.8), after all the reboots i logged on my computer, started teamspeak, and while searching for the teamspeak room the driver problem happened again.
Anyway, my power supply is NOX Hummer 80 600W, model: HUM80600.
The problems started on September of this year i think? I've had this computer for almost 3 years now. I have the latest Nvidia drivers, and this still happens, i've tried downgrading, fresh installing, and nothing worked.
    Graphics card: MSI GTX 670 Power Edition 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E 3.0 DirectX11, S/N: 602-V284-02SB1207063830.
I'll try it tommorow if possible.
    Thank you for the attention.

  • MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G + RAIJINTEK Morpheus

    Greetings everyone.
So as I'm aware off, there are no "default" PCB for the 970. Manufacturers were told to create their own PCB or base it off some older PCBs.
With that said, how would you know if an aftermarket GPU cooler would fit on lets say MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G, since there should be no such things as "reference mounting holes"?
I have the RAIJINTEK Morpheus GPU cooler laying around alright. But is there no way at all, to know if it'll fit the mention videocard?

    Okay..
    This is my suggestion:
    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/webnote.php
    Presales Enquiry:
Tell them that you want to buy SPECIFIC graphics card (e.g. MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition 4096MB ) and you also want to buy Rajintek Morpheus for it. And ask if it will fit. You don't have to buy it from them though (don't worry if you live outside the UK, they just provide damn good support on presales questions)
