Video and audio sync when viewing clips online

When viewing clips, like on youtube, the graphics start playing, however there is no sound, only after a few seconds the graphics freeze and the sound that was missing starts playing and the graphics resume when they're in sync again.
Also when I pause a video and click play the clip will not resume and I have to click the "time bar" and then it will play.
My 13 MB Pro starts furiously blowing the cooling fan and consuming battery life when viewing clips on most video sites.
How can I fix these things?
This already happened before upgrading to Lion, btw.

Are you capturing this thru the LS? and what is the format you are digitizing? DV? or uncompressed? Would be best I'd think if you don't capture audio and video as separate files too. That leads to problems especially with DV captures.
How are you monitoring the audio and video? all from computer or? You could be in sync and not know it if you are using computer speakers for monitoring audio when watching video externally for example.
If you monitor both from the computer and it is in sync, but not when you record to video, I'd suggest that you export a self contained movie of this material and import that for the print to the beta... I'll wager that will keep your sync. If this doesn't help, might want to post this in the AJA KONA forum at http://www.creativecow.net Might be something to do with your LS, not sure but do have the latest drivers installed on it...

  • I have a clip with synchronized audio. When I trim a section of video it does not trim the audio. How do I trim both video and audio so that the clip remains in sync?

Why is FCPX not allow me to cut both video and audio tracks at the same time?
My separate synchronized audio does not trim when I trim the video. They are connected and synchronized.

Sounds like a different problem than your trim problem in the first post. If your problem is they drift out of sync, we'd need to knoow more about the project and clip properties – including how the audio file you're syncing to was created.

  • Internet streamed Video and Audio Lag when I roll over buttons/change tabs

Well just as the title suggests when I am watching videos online, aka youtube, hulu, etc, everything runs fine. But if I decide that I also want to check my facebook or something similar while watching these movies, the video and audio become choppy, even to the point where my audio will become distorted, and the video will just plain freeze. I'm wondering if this is a computer issue and if so how can I fix it?
I'm on a late 2007 13" white macbook, with a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2GB of RAM. I'm also using Google Chrome, but it also happens on Safari.

  • How to link video and audio channels of multiple clips

Importing iMovie08 sequence via XML ends up with unlinked video and audio channel (only one of the stereo channels; see other post).
It is possible to link each clips audio and video track individualy.
Is there a way to do it in batch mode for all the clips in de timeline??

    1. After selecting the in points on main audio and one of two video tracks, the "merge clips" is greyed. Yes,in case you're wondering, the audio is on the HD.
Your use of language is confusing me I'm afraid. You opened the AIFF file and set an IN then opened a QuickTime movie and set and IN and then with them both selected in the Browser (and the Browser the active window) that you cannot select Modify->Merge Clips... ?
I wasn't wondering anything about your audio, but now I'm wondering "What does 'the audio is on the HD' mean?"
    2. The other issue is that the starting point is silent, so the only I know how to find the actual beginning is by counting frames back from the first sound. Is that what I have to do? Is would seem to me that there must be a "marker" that's not and "in" or "out" that will allow me to merge the tracks. No?
If you set an IN point in two clips you can merge them using the Merge Clips... command with the in points option. The IN points you choose can be anywhere and for anything. They can be where the clapper hits and sounds, they can be where a drum stick hits a cymbal, they can be where someone is clapping, they can be where a body falls from a building onto the sidewalk... Anything that helps you sync the sound with picture.

  • Cutting and saving individual video and audio files from a clip

I have to cut 201 individual video and audio files for separate scenes from an 11-minute animated episode and save them as separate MP4 video and MP3 audio files. What is the most efficient way to do this?

Without knowing more about your project, it's hard to even guess at the most efficient workflow.
Like: Do these clips have audio or are you adding it? What format are these clips? What is the intended delivery for the 11 minute movie?
As a general matter, one creates an event, imports clips to it. Then organizes the clips according to the needs of job, using keyword collections and ratings. Then creates a project and starts a rough cut by marking ranges in the event browser and editing to the time line. Some people start with the music, making that the primary storyline mark where they want the edit to be and cut to that.
Upon finishing, one can choose one or more of the "destination" presets. It's possible to export Audio only or Video only or both. MP3 is one of the audio choices. Some of the presets are MP4. If you want possibly better quality and more control, export the files as master files and encode in Compressor.
    Good luck.

  • Video and audio sync is off

I have a video that was captured using the Hauppauge Win-TV 950Q and the Win TV software package. The file plays just fine in WinTV or using the Windows Media Player, but the timing of the audio and video seem to slip if I import it into Premiere Elements. I am using version 10, so I don't know if this is something that was fixed in a newer version. Over the course of an hour, the audio goes from off by about a second at the beginning to being something on the order of eight seconds behind at the end of an hour. Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks
    -Bob

thanks for looking! If I knew the answers to all your questions, I probably would know what's wrong and how to fix it. I am not looking to do anything exciting here, just trying to archive a program to a playable DVD. Well - I have it playable, it's just not watchable unless you can deal with badly synced audio.
Loaded up mediainfo and it says the frame rate is 29.97, but a variable bit rate for video and constant audio.
    I will look into handbrake.

  • Video and audio sync

I am currently having issues with the audio for shows and movies being out of sync while playing only through ITunes.  I have Windows 7 and am using the Asus P6T motherboard's Realtek audio.  I don't have any issues playing through windows video player, just iTunes and quicktime.  I've tried all of the FAQ recommendations to include turning off sound enhancements and updating software for motherboard audio.  Does anyone have any other ideas of how to get the audio and video to sync?  Thank.

  • Getting The Video and Audio Synced Up

I have a the weirdest feeling that the audio and video are not perfectly synced up. It may only be by a frame or two. In final cut pro, I can go frame by frame and hear where the audio should be and correct it. Can this be done in DVD studio pro? Is there any other way to check? It is nothing big, but I would really love some assurance that they are together. I have DVDSP 3.

DVD SP is not designed for that type of precise editing, just some general things, and you are better off doing all edits outside of DVD SP. Where are you seeing the synch problem?

  • Syncing video and audio

I have been syncing video and audio into a sequence and using those sequences in a new master sequence. Is that the right way to do it? Is there a way to have the video and audio in a useable clip? I could not find this information in the manual, but if I missed it can someone refer me to the chapter that covers this topic.
    Thank you

you can set in and out points for both the video and audio clips in either the viewer or in the browser, then select the two, right click - merge clips (or Modify/Merge Clips if you prefer the menu.)

  • Linking All Video and Audio Clips at Once

I'm running the most recent version of Premiere CC 2014 on OSX.
Somehow I accidentally unlinked every video and audio track on my timeline (I didn't make them offline - I unlinked them so that they select independently on my timeline when I want linked video and audio from the same clip to select simultaneously).
I don't want to have to go through my entire timeline and re-link every clip. Is there a way to easily select all media and link it? I've tried highlighting everything, right clicking and selecting "Link," but this hasn't worked.
    Any tips would be appreciated.

I have to start you from the beginning to make sure everything is set correctly.
Under the Edit menu, make sure "Linked Selection" is checkmarked (also Shift+L).
Once that is done, make sure the video clip is linked the it's corresponding audio in the timeline. Do this by selecting them all, and choosing "Link" under the Modify menu (or hitting command + L).
Try that and if it doesn't work we'll go from there.

  • Video and audio not in sync. Other answers here do not help.

My audio and video are not in sync in many streams but some are OK.
I do not have any extensions, add-ons and I am using the default theme. I have disabled hardware acceleration. I am now running in Safe Mode and the problem persists.
The video and audio sync for the first few minutes and then they work their way futhter and further apart, usually several seconds out of sync. I don't think this particular situation has been covered in the other posts.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • Delay in video and Audio

I use iChat to video chat with two friends in the UK. One is a o2 user and the other is a talktalk user. Wen chatting we experience an up to 7 seconds delay in voice and Video and audio. When we change to Skype there is no delay. Can you explain and solve this please. You do a great job Ralph. Thank you.

    Hi,
    Umm Bermuda.
    Ok Start with.
If anyone is on 10.5.x then go to System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming at set the drop down to 1.5Mbps and restart iChat (so it "Sees" the new speed)
On Snow Leopard and Leopard computers go to iChat > Preferences > Video Section and set the Bandwidth to 500kbps as a starting point.
If this in itself does nor sort the issue the slowest Buddy (Internet Connection) should drop their's to 200kbps - This is on the iChat Limit in a 3 or 4 way chat as the Specs say 384k
It is worth while having the Connection Doctor (Video Menu) open for this.
Also try changing who is Host.
Ideally it should be the one with the fastest Internet connection.
I have a vague feeling about Bermuda or one of the other small islands where the Local telephone company had become the default ISP - and in the day of iChat 3 where effectively blocking iChat by blocking the SIP Ports (Vonage and other VoIP adapters) that "lost" them Long Distance Telephone connection monies.
The thread about that was some time ago.
It maybe that they cannot support Video chats (Or lots of Off island Video Chats and On-line gaming) due to the ISP's own data rate to the "Main land".
Does it become apparent when you join the chat ?
Or does it not matter who hosts and who joins last ?

    Hi
    In iMovie'11 (version 9.0.x)
    on top menu row - Apple/iMovie/File/Edit/Cut (Can vary dep. on language - in Swedish Apple/iMovie/Arkiv/Redigera/Klipp . . . )
down Cut menu - Slow playback/Raspid Playback/Re-play in Slow Motion and onvards
Here one can select the Pre-Set speeds
Are you familiar with getting 'inspector' to run?
No - but I guess that Double Click on clip/sequense or ctrl-Click on it might open it.

  • Videos work fine, but when view in ITunes Video/Audio are not Synced up

    Hello,
Im not sure how to get around this but at the moment im converting my DVDs to mp4 format to view through itunes/appletv.
The MP4 files work fine when watched in Windows Media Player or VLC Media but when i watch it through ITunes the video/audio is not matching up.
    How can i fix this?

    Hello
When I try to play H264 format Movie files via iTunes (9.0.2.25) or Quicktime Player (7.6.5) the audio is half to a full second ahead of the video.
I have tried multiple H264 format videos and they all have the same problem.
If I try playing the same files in Windows Media Player then the video and audio is all in sync as it should be.
I have tried multiple machines, Windows 7, Vista and XP, all of which show the same issue.
Any help in resolving this issue would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Kevin
