Video/button issue

Hello,
I have a very simple DVD with one 8-minute video track and all I need is one button - a standard 'PLAY' button.
I have set one up as part of the background (so has no shape etc.) which is itself a looping video, I cannot work out how to make the button text change colour when it is selected.
When I simulate I am able to navigate to the correct track fine and as there are no other buttons to choose from there is no need for a 'selected' state, all I want is for the button to change colour before navigating to the video track.
Help much appreciated.

Just so I'm clear, you want the button on the menu to change color before going to the assigned track so the viewer can see that they selected play. Correct?
If so this should help.
Highlight the button so that you see it active in the Inspector window. Click on the COLOR tab. My settings are as follows:
Overlap Colors: Advanced
Mapping Type: Grayscale
Selection State: Activated
Set: 1
Just below you see KEY and a color drop down menu. Choose the color you would like to change to after selecting the play button. Now notice that the opacity slider to the right is set to "0" Increase the number all the way to 15 and you'll see the color change in the viewer window.
Test it in the simulator and you should have what you want.

am using a Dell XPS GEN 5 PC with Windows Vista Premium Edition as the current OS installed. I have latested up date for Itunes and QuickTime (7.1.6) Installed. I have recently bought and downloaded 3 of the Original Star Trek Tv Shows from Itunes. When I try and play one of them, they don't work. The Screen comes up, the show starts, then stops. Sometimes the sound keeps on playing, and then stops. Sometimes it just dosent even come on. I'm guessing (as a highly advanced Windows PC User) That this ia a "video/playback issue, related to a Apple/Vista Compatibility problem. I would like help solving this problem.

my computer has a right proper meltdown, switching itself off and restarting to a "Windows has recovered from a serious error" sort of message.
good lord. are you getting any sort of blue screen? if so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it? (ie 0x[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)

if you're not seeing a blue screen (or just a flash of one), we can use this technique to make hidden blue screens appear for us:
1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.

Video playback issues in Air for Android

Hello everybody
I am developing an advertisement application which plays multiple videos. I have faced a very strange problem: nor the simple Video nor the StageVideo are not visible when I run the app on target android device. I can hear the audio but the only way to get the video is to press back button and then get back to app but in this case the video goes over the UI. This happens only on a target device which is a chinese sibo android tablet. It has android 4.1 on board. I have seen a lot of people had the similar issues:

but the solution mentioned there - adding <containsVideo>true</containsVideo> to the manifest xml doesnt help
I am using adobe air 4.0 sdk and the air 4.0 runtime on the device. I have tried to change renderMode to CPU/Direct/Auto but it doesn change anything.
The other three android devices I have - toshiba thrive tablet(4.0.4)/ eken tablet(4.2.2)/ htc desire c(4.0.3) play all the video content without any problem.
Any advice will be highly appreciated,

Video Message Issue

Hello, guys! I have a bit of an issue with the new video message feature of Skype. That is, the option to send a video message is grayed out on every contact I have on Skype, but my friends can send me video messages and I can view them without any problems.
Skype version: 6.21.59.104 (searching for updates yields me that I have the latest version of Skype)
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (100% legal)
Camera: Turbo-X 1080P Full HD with built-in microphone (functions perfectly during video calls)
Internet Speed: Average of 100Mbps if I remember correctly. Fairly fast and functional 100% of the time (I don't know if it is relevant)
Note: I have no Facebook or Live contacts on my contact list. I do not log in as Invisible. Some of my friends do, but the option is grayed out for everyone, not just those that are Invisible. The only personal modification I have done for Skype is to block the advertisments by blocking access to apps.skype.com through my Control Panel.

Most likely you are on the new Skype version with a different design of user interface.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit option).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

ALL-PHOTOS-VIDEOS buttons don't work in iOS app

Hi there!
I just downloaded the Revel iOS app which I found amazing! The best memories cloud storage solution I've found so far!
I found an issue with the app, when watching all the photos in a library, the ALL PHOTOS VIDEOS buttons don't work at all. They overlap the search bar. I'm using the app in an iPhone 6 plus.
Will you support the iPhone 6 and 6 plus resolutions? I see the latest iOS version is from July 31st 2014. I wouldn't want to use an app that is not updated!

Adobe isn't responding to requests for information about the future of the iOS app, or even the future of the service itself. Ipad 3rd generation, iOS 8, home button issue, with fix

I have seen a lot of iOS 8 home button issues on phones but not much on the iPad. But I started having problems right away. Clicking would not get be back to the home screen. Clicking did not get me out of program. It was all intermittent too.
I found a good you tube video about ipad home button issues. First I tried recalibrating the home button. You hold the power switch down till you get the slider to turn off the iPad. then let go and hold down the home button till the screen changes. that seemed to fix most of the problems for a couple hours. But then it came back.
Next tried putting a drop of isopropyl Alcohol on my finger tip and pushed down and up on the outside edge of the home button, all around the circumference. Then did the cal again. That seems to have worked permanently.
iOS 8 is still slow but I guess everyone has that on anything older than a year.

Oh and Meg offered the right answer. Put your Apps in Folders, which will create extra space for the apps which have disappeared.

Youtube Post comment & Load more videos buttons will not work, just shows vista loading ring and does nothing

I have been having this problem since last November.
When attempting to post a comment on a video in youtube when I click on the post button the button turns grey and then I simply see the Vista loading ring. I can wait hours or even leave my computer over night however it never successfully posts the comment.
I am logged in to my youtube account and was able to post comments prior to November.
I am currently using Firefox 20.0.1, I have attempted disabling all of my add on's with no effect.
I have an additional issue which I believe is related due to the similarities.
When browsing youtube videos from any channel the "Load more videos" button does the same thing.
for example the following page http://www.youtube.com/user/BdoubleO100/videos?view=0
if I scroll to the bottom and hit load more nothing will happen, as such I cannot browse to older videos.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Ad mediator casuing lock button issues?

Hi everyone, i have developed a universal app for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1. I have used the ad mediator in the Phone package. Today after my app was certified i discovered an issue, running the app then quitting it will cause the lock button to
not lock the screen again but you can still shut down the phone, also if the screen is locked the you cant unlock it wilth the button or by double tapping, the only way to solve this is by soft-reset. I was able to reproduce it on a Lumia 925 and 520 however
i after a couple of times i failed to reproduce it again. This issue is very similar to the official chive app issue:

My app doesnt display any videos or GIF files, so it is not using any function to keep the screen on like the chive app did.
Both apps (the chive and my app) are universal and both are supported by ads, however i am not sure about what ad control they used.
So my question is: Is this a general bug/issue in XAML universal apps? Is it a bug in the ad mediator? or is it the combination or universal apps and ads that is causing this issue?
Also did you encounter such issue? if so how did you solve it?

Video Buttons Don't Work

I am having video button (play, pause, fast forward, audio, etc.) issues for videos within Safari 5.1.3
It does not matter what website I am on, if I double tap my mouse to increase the size of the screen, hence video, I lose control over the buttons/features that go with that video. It use to work fine until I upgraded Safari about 2 months ago. Double tapping my mouse makes the video buttons completely useless and I have to go back to original size if I want to pause or fastward then double tap mouse again to get the bigger screen that I want.
The buttons within videos only work in original size or full screen now. Very irritating.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try deleting the cache associated with Safari ...
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash. Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
And since you are viewing video in Safari, the video may require the Flash plugin. Try uninstallling your current copy of Flash then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Make sure and uninstall the old plugin first. Quit then relaunch Safari. From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache.
Try a video.

My wife's new iphone4 (a replacement for a 5 month-old iphone 4 with home button issues) is not recognized by itunes. Every other ios device in the house using that computer and Apple ID is. Any suggestions?

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

Did Apple fix the video quality issue in iMovie '09?

I am a casual video editor and iMovie 08 had the perfect user experience / functionality for what I want to do.
However, the known video quality issue (throwing away interlaced scan lines) made the result unacceptable since I archive our family video on DVDs. I have been forced to use iMovie HD for that reason. I have tried tricks such as converting the original DV files to AIF and deinterlace prior to import into iMovie08 but that did not seem to work either.
So does anyone know if Apple fixed the video quality issue in iMovie '09.
MESSAGE TO APPLE IF YOU ARE LISTENING:
Please fix the video quality in iMovie09 if not already. Yes, the quality is ok for YouTube or Internet video but for those of us who want simple editing to archive our family video we cannot accept poor video quality. Dropping an interlace field effectively halves the vertical resolution. Thank you.

Please explain this in more detail when you say Adaptive Deinterlacer. Are you talking about another program? If so, what program and what are the specific steps.
Also, sounds like you are recommending imovie09. By saying to do the above, are you saying imovie09 still causes you too loose significant quality like imovie08? Are you saying you can use imovie08 or imovie09 with these steps to get high quality video or just imovie09? I guess I just need more specifics on how you do what you are describing and how imovie09 fits into this versus imovie08. I joined this whole discussion trying to figure out if upgrading imovie09 made a difference regarding the whole quality issue. I know it has more features, but I am more concerned about he quality of the video right now. Thanks.

Video Pixelation Issue - New HP Pavilion 15-P008TX Notebook - Windows 8.1

Ahoy,
I've seen topics regarding this issue - i.e. first day running a new HP Pavilion 15-P008TX, using Windows 8.1...
However the video quality on videos being played from the DVD Drive, HDD, and streamed videos (e.g YouTube) are extremely low quality.
Unfortunately I can't screenshot the issue - the best way to describe it would be to say that the videos look like YouTube videos being viewed on 144p
DVDs, and even 1080p videos are low quality and pixelated...
So far I've tried the following to no avail:
- Uninstalling and Reinstalling intergrated video drivers (Intel HD 4400) and Nvidia 3D drivers (Geforce 830M)
- Switching scaled views in the display section
- Installing VLC (with the latest codecs) to test if it was a codec issue
- Running a windows update
- Changing Graphic settings that may intefere with issues in quality (both Intel HD settings app and Nvidia 3D settings)
Windows Apps and programs aren't affected, only video playback.
First day of using my new HP Notebook, and i'm hoping to resolve this issue promptly.

In terms of the video pixel issue, it seems like there might be a hardware failure. You have also done the majority of the troubleshooting. The only other steps I can suggest are here: Display Quality Issues

Video playback issue in Presenter 9

Hi
I have Office 2013 and Presenter 9. Everything works as outlined in the various tutorials etc but there is no video when I run the presentation.
I get audio only.
Is it a video format issue? What is best?

Are you inserting the video through the Presenter Insert Video function or through the PPT Insert Media function?
Presenter will convert all supported video formats into FLV, except MP4, which it leaves as MP4. If you can have your video in either FLV or MP4 before inserting into Presenter, then it leaves Presenter's video conversion tool out of the list of possible problems, and you retain more control over video quality settings.

Video Adapter Issues?

I just went through a download of recommended Lenovo updates and now have problems starting up the computer. I get consistent blue screen telling me that I may have memory or video adapter issues. Is this a video adapter or is there another cause? I wasn't getting this prior to the update at the end of July...

What ThinkPad exactly are we discussing here?
