Video function is gone with latest ios 6.1.3 update
I updated to 6.1.3 today and the camera/video button was no longer on my phone, as well as albums in the photo gallery. It had reverted to camera only like the old 3gs. I restored with my latest backup which was fortunately not too long age and the camera/video button and albums returned. Nice update...
I'm having a similar issue.. Email headers show up in my inbox but the content doesn't load when selected. Happens intermittently, very inconvenient!

Can anyone help? I updated my iPhone 4 with latest iOS 7 and now wi fi is greyed out, Bluetooth won't work and tbh am so angry! Phone now out of warranty so apple won't help without it costing me. I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version. I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again. I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again. My blue tooth doesn't work either. I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this. When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue. My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!! I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue. Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it. Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple. -

Try Googling "sync without iTunes".
There are free alternatives and there are not so free alternatives.
Btw, to check if AVG is causing the problem, you should uninstall AVG and not just "turn it off".
Also, can you describe how you go about uninstalling a program? For example, how did you "delete" iTunes? -

Thanks for the question. If you haven't already done so, you may want to update iTunes to v11.1 (released on Sept 18th). After updating iTunes, you can then update your iPhone 5 to iOS 7.

It depends on how much you want the new apps. iOS 7 did slow down the iPhone 4 a little bit. Not a lot, but you will notice a bit of lag for awhile. You should get used to it and you will then be able to download the newer apps you are interested in.
iOS 7 does look very different from iOS 6. They did away with all the faux leather, stitching, glossy reflections and other skeuomorphic touches that had been the iPhones trademark look since the beginning. Google iOS 7 images and you will see what I mean. I personally like the "flat" look that they went with in 7 and the other features that come with it make up for it.
Some people do have a problem with battery life on their phones, but I think a lot of that comes from using the phone a lot in the beginning to see all the new stuff. But if you set it up the way you like and turn off the real battery drainers like push email and the screen animations (I got tired of those really fast anyway, I just want an app to open, I don't need to see it spring out of the icon) and your battery life should not be worse than what you are used to.
You will see a huge jump in performance between an iPhone 4 and a 5S. -
Problems with latest ios update today 7.0.6
I tried to update latest ios 7.0.6 today and ph is now frozen...when I turn off it comes back on showing to plug into itunes...when I do that, itunes says it detected ph in recovery mode & ph must be restored before it can be used with itunes....when I click on restore button it goes through a 15 -20 minute process and then basically says the same thing again.
I can't turn the ph off nor can I use it in current state keeps showing to plug into itunes...

Why has the texting "dictation" (microphone symbol) feature gone with the iOS 7 update?
I have noticed that the dication feature (microphone symbol) is no longer avaiable with the iOS update on iphone 4S? does anybody know why?
It is most definitely still available. Have you checked to make sure that Siri is still turned on? Settings>General>Siri? Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

Syncing problems with new iOS 6.1.2 update!
My itunes won't sync new downloaded music to my ipod touch after iOS 6.1.2 update. It even took 400+ songs out of my itunes library, but those songs original 800+ songs are still on my ipod, and stay there no matter how many times i sync to my library. they just won't sync together. please help me! i've already restored my ipod and i don't know what else to do. oh and i'm on an imac.
I actually figured this out! I changed my settings for syncing, I had to manually select what I wanted synced. This update threw my whole music life out of whack hahaha.
BUT.
I am still missing over half of my 800 songs in my itunes library. and after manually selecting from what i had in my itunes library, i lost over 400 songs. gone. they aren't in my library OR my ipod anymore. ):

I can send and receive calls.
I get "messaging stopped" when doing a lot of texts.
Texts come up "ghosted" meaning they have the text on the bottom and a transparent one overlaid on top. they then become one. But I get the ghosting most of the time when I go into a message from a contact to send a text.
When I go to call logs or text logs, the numbers come up first, and then then the names pop up randomly, meaning not in order down the page, until they are all shown. lots of lag time.
It runs slow.
I have 5 apps on here. I should be able to have a lot of apps on here, and play music, and have files, and...and....and.
I can get online but doing a Google search, when the page with the choices comes up, it is blurred and I have to tap on the screen for it to become clear and readable.
When online and scrolling, it hitches sometimes/lags/gets stuck then unstuck
I get VZWAVS has stopped. (not sure if those are the right letters)
The status bar that is supposed to be gray with the new update, goes back and forth between green--the old os--to gray. And I have found no continuity with when I get green or when I get gray.
I get a black screen on occasion.
sometimes the proximity sensor doesn't work.
sometimes when I have my bluetooth on and have "hands free mode" on, I get the a text message read through the headset and also through the handset.

A have a problem with the videos app and iTunes home sharing on multiple iOS devices.
This is my setup. On my iMac 2006 with Snow Leopard I have:
- 100+ dvd's ripped in my iTunes movie section
- 600+ episodes ripped in iTunes TV-section in 35 TV-shows
- 1 apple tv, 1 iPad 2, 1 iPad mini
On an average evening my family is watching different tv-shows simultaneously on the apple tv, the ipad, an iphone, and an ipad mini.
This is done through home sharing on the one iTunes library.
All updated apps, software etc..
What happens on the ipads, after viewing for more than 10 minutes, the user interface doesn't show up when tapping the screen. The touchscreen doesn't respond, only the home button works. Clicking the home button closes the app, but the sound of the video keeps on playing. Opening up the videos app again gives a black screen with sound still playing and still no button or UI.
The only workaround which currently works is killing the videos app. Power off the ipad and power on again, reconnect to the shared library, wait until it has found all the content (1+ minutes) and startup the tv show again.
All in all, a nasty way to pause your viewing or switching to another movie of tv episode, or even wanting to finish viewing.
The problem has haunted me for a year now, patiently waiting and hoping software-updates would fix it. They didn't.
A fix would obviously hugely improve my user experience, getting it on par with Apples usual quality of service.
Anyone familiar with this problem? Apple: is it possible to fix it in an update?Same here for over a year now.

If you can't track it through iCloud, then there is nothing else you can do.
The phone needs to be powered on and have an Internet connection to show up on iCloud.
If the phone was using iOS 7, it won't be able to be restored without your AppleID and password. -
Cisco 891 not getting IP address with DHCP with latest IOS

I have a few Cisco 891 routers that are configured as DHCP clients on the WAN interface.
For some reason when I boot the router with a late IOS, the router is not receiving an address.
It works just as expected with the older IOSes.
Any ideas of what changed?
This is how the interface is configured:

Doing a "show ip interface brief" shows that FastEthernet8 is unassigned with the affected IOS.
With the older IOSes there is an IP address.
I had to downgrade two routers due to this issue, and did not have plenty of time to troubleshoot.
Both of the routers are connected to DSL from the same ISP...
Anyone seen anything like this before?Add another one to the list.
I have a MacBookPro3,1 that connects to WIFI no problem. It used to connect to ethernet when I originally bought it, however I've been using WIFI exclusively for the past 2 years.
Recently I had a need to connect via ethernet and it wouldn't work at home (apple airport router). I next tried connecting via ethernet at a friends house using a linksys WRT54G, no dice either. I have the computer in the lab today (University Network) and I get the same error. 3 different locations, 3 different routers, all same problem. It used to connect to home and university networks ethernet right away.
IP address assigned is 169.xxx.xxx.xxx - subnet - 255.255.0.0
no other info. It's showing up as connecting to the network, but unable to communicate with DHCP. It does work if I enter all of the information in manually.
At first I thought I had messed something up in networking preferences as I tend to play around with things alot. However I did a complete system format, and fresh install of OSX Lion and I still have the same problem, without any of my meddling around to confuse things.
What gives?
