Video Not Viewable from Jabber Client To SX20

Good morning,
We are testing out the jabber for Windows client and the only way that we can get it to connect is by forcing the H323 protocol (ie:H323:[email protected]) and initiating from the SX20.  When we do this, we can only see and hear what is going on at the SX20 and the SX20 shows no audio / video from the Jabber client.
We we try to connect directly to the SX20, it says that the device is offline.
Is the jabber client able to support audio and video over H323 ?

Hi Jesse,
In order for this to happen you would  either need to register your SX20 to a SIP provided service like Cisco Webex Telepresence or obtain  and configure your own VCSe and register your SX20 against that.  The  VCSe would then require to have a SIP SRV DNS record setup. You may also  need a valid cert installed on the VCSe from here:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-23938.  However, this may not be required if you are not going to use TLS.

  • No video stream when calling 3rd party endpoint from Jabber client

    I use my own H323 client based on the H323Plus open source. It works very well with VCS and all endpoints we tried (a dozen or so from every vendor). We have a problem with Jabber Video though, across all versions from MOVI to 4.4.3. When my own client calls Jabber everything works as it should. However, when Jabber calls my client then (1) it takes up to a minute for Jabber to display incoming video and (2) Jabber does not create outgoing video stream. This behavior is 100%  reproducible across all PCs we tried. Jabber is registered with either VCS Starter Pack or VCS Control, sofwtare version 6.1 in both cases. We do not use provisioning at this time.
    In Jabber logs there is a unclear hint about insufficient resources (bandwidth?) for the video stream. VCS configuration is fine (it works with all other clients like e20) and I do not see anything useful in VCS logs.
    To narrow the discussion, this is NOT a firewall, client camera or driver, OS misconfiguration or any other external issue. It is Jabber video having problem negotiating capabilities and/or resources but only it initiates the call. Where should I look for a solution?

    I was afraid this will end this way. I hoped you might have had such a case solved already :-).
    Audio works fine, no problem at all. The video packets are not sent from my client to Jabber while in the 1 minute wait; the stream from Jabber  is not even started. I still think I need Wireshark to decode H225 traffic. Good idea with the interworking log - I was too lazy to go the OS layer. As you surely know, only 2 of the VCS logs are available from the Web interface.

  • Video not viewable when published

    I have tried posting a video to the web. I have used the podcast pages and the movie page. Neither one works. I called apple, and the guy that I talked to said that it might be a size issue. So, I tried posting a very small version of the video, and it still was not viewable once published.
    What appears when I click on the page is a transparent quicktime "Q" with a question mark over it. When I tried publishing the video as a podcast the rss that iweb assigned was the address. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

    What format is the video? I have uploaded a 50MB (just to test I could do it) video to iweb pages exported from imovie '06 and also used Quicktime to compress for web. Visual Hub is also good for compressing videos for the web.

  • Set up LAMP server, but not viewable from outside.

    I set up a LAMP server, followed the guide http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LAMP there.  I can view it from localhost or the IP address or the web address http://plaufcan.homeunix.org.  But it is not viewable outside of my local network.  What else do I have to do?

    If your router is showing an external IP address of 192.x.x.x, I am guessing that you are on a DSL line, and that you more than likely used the windows setup software to configure your internet connection.
    Basically, when you run the software, many of the modems go into a very dumb router configuration.  Your router is picking up a natted ip address from the modem, and using that to update dyndns.

    I'll bet you dollars to donuts that you can open your browser and go to http://192.168.2.1 (or alternatively http://192.168.2.254) and you'll get access to the modem.  You'll have to find the page that allows it to be set to a bridge.   After that, you'll have to set the router up to do any authentication that your ISP requires.   
    One of the large ISP's in Canada use modems like this for their DSL,  and it causes no end of problem when SOHO users add another router.  NATted NAT connections do not always play nice.

    I don't understand why some videos will not copy from my iphone 4s to my pc (win xp) when I connect iphone usb to pc using "scanner and camera wizard"? Just some of them. It doesn't matter if its 2min or 2 sec long. Just randomly says it can't copy to my pc...

    Also can I avoid all this if I have icloud set up on both devices?
    I haven't tried because it seems that everywhere I have read and researched - icloud only pushes photos/photostream/camera roll (as well as documents, contacts, etc) But I am focused on home videos I have recorded on my iphone camera trying to get it off iphone and onto pc.
    Immediate response would be SOO appreciated!

    Yeah I considered that but I had so many photos & videos I attempted it this way. And I am getting some videos to copy to pc - juist not all...grrr thanks for the icloud info though,

  • Jobserver not available from specific client installation (from Designer)

    Hi,
    I have installed Designer on a PC and everything seems to work fine, except I can not run jobs using the associated jobserver.
    When I open up designer, I get a message that the jobserver is not available. When I go to the admin console (on the same PC) I can run jobs.
    Also, when I use another computer and log on to the same repository, I can use the jobserver from the designer.
    What can possibly be wrong at PC level which prevents me from using the jobserver from Designer?
    I have re-installed designer but it did not have any effect.
    Any help greatly appreciated - I have no idea how to troubleshoot this is also welcome.

    Hello,
    1.  Make sure that you can ping the Job Server from the client machine - Use the fully qulaified domain name (not ip address)
    2.  make sure that you can ing the client machine from the Job server - Use the fully qualified domain name (not ip address)
    if steps 1 or 2 fail then you need to contact you network admin to resolve the connectivity issues. If you are able to connect using the ip address and not the fully qualified name, you can add an entry to you local host file.
    3.  make sure that you do not have a firewall blocking the Job Server port preventing inbound connections to the job server
    4.  make sure that you do not have a firewall blocking ports from the job server to the client machine.
    The default port for the job server is 3500 make sure that this port is open for connections from the client
    you must also make sure that there is no firewall blocking any ports for connectivity FROM the Job Server TO the client.
    if so ask the network admin to unblock these or provide a port range for you to use.
    if they provide a port range for connectivity from the job server to the client you must go to Tools --> options -->   Designer -->Environment and set the port range in the Designer communication ports section

  • Supporting details are not accessible from SmartView client

    For one of our users Supporting detail functionality is not available using SmartView client. While clicking on Supporting detail option in excel, the bar is showing hour glass but never displaying the supporting detail window. We reinstalled the client but with no success. We are not sure what is causing this issue. Kindly share your thoughts around the possible causes.
    P.S - We asked the user to go to planning web for the time being.

    What versions of software are you on? Smartview / Excel etc
    If other users are fine and share common software versions, then this would point to something on the client machine....have a try of disabling all add-ins except Smart View to see if anything is conflicting?
    I assume the behaviour is the same whether trying to interact with already existing supporting details or creating own?

  • Video not playing from website

    I searched for anyone else having this issue and I did not find anyone with the same issue. I am trying to watch a video from a website and all I get is the sand timer and it never loads. I have installed Flash Player 10.2. My coworker has a Droid-X and he could play the website's videos no problem. I compared my settings with his and all appears to be the same. What I could I be doing wrong? I have already had issues with constant rebooting and HTC Sense force closing. I have performed 2 factory resets and so far so good there but now the video issue...

    Thank you.  I had it on always so I tried and switched it to On Demand and it just gave me a green download arrow.  Switched it back to "always"  it went back to the sand timer.  On the co-workers DX it goes to screen like the native youtube app where it goes to a blackscreen with a circling arrow and then plays.  Mine just stays on the web page with the sand timer over a blank spot where the video should be.

    Log in as domain admisnitrator/ local administrator (depending on your user account setup) on that PC and try to run XL Reporter see if its ok?
    If its ok, then try to to login as another "normal" domain user/ local user (other than the user with problem starting XL) and try to run XL Reporter again see if its ok.
    If its ok, it means that the user that had problem running XL Reporter has some profile differences or priveledge difference (Which could be difficult to find out which specific). For easy resolution, I advice to create a new profile for this user, and move all his/ her files to the new profile and use SAP on the new profile.
    If other user account login is not ok to run XL Reporter now, I believe its installation of XL Reporter was not done properly. Please try to reintall XL Reporter (reinstall Client App) as administrator account, instead of user account.

    No, that is the way that Blackberry mail used to work. The Apple mail connects directly to the mail server. The use of multiple mail clients with POP accounts is a pain, and is not how that type of mail was designed to be used. Not sure exactly why he wants to delete the mail from the individual clients, but IMAP works so much better as it keeps everything in sync, and will reflect when mail is read on one client and will show it as read on others, if he finds it necessary to check mail on multiple clients.

    you are not using DI server to connect, your using DI API.  Check if your client machine has the DI API installed.  If not you can get from the installation cd or the lastest patch installed under packages/DI API folder.

  • Web Gallery Widget not viewable from iPhone

    I have created web photo galleries in iPhoto 08. Then I have opened iWeb08 and created a page an added a web gallery widget for each of the galleries on this page, everything works fine. Now I fire up the iPhone and go to my iWeb page where the widgets are located.
    The problem is the web gallery widget appears on the iPhone screen as a blue cube with a question mark on two sides and some round grey circles on top. I can not access the galleries from iPhone. Are these cubes a representation for some program that the iPhone can't open? Any help is appreciated.

    Don't know if this helps, but there is special formatting for Web Galley pages on your iPhone. When you open the link to your gallery in Safari you will get a screen of clickable thumbnails. Clicking the My Gallery button will take you to your other galleries. Clicking a thumbnail will bring up the image and the Play button.

    Is your HDMI cable snuggle plugged in TV and Apple TV or ate you using optical?
    Did you turn Dolby Digital On? If so set it to auto and see what happens.
