Video playback getting stuck

I've just installed Premiere Pro CS5.5 on a MacBook Pro. I can import video files and see them in their entirety when scrubbing but during playback it will only play one second and then stop. The experts have tried a number of different formats and even exported a video file from Premiere Pro but the result has been the same. Interestingly enough the videos play fine in After Effects. I'm hoping it is something simple to do with the settings but I cant see anything obvious. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your help so far. There were a few MBPs in the building of
the same build that had the same problem. As well as trashing
preferences I found that the problem was due to there being two user
accounts. Even though Premiere was installed and launched in the admin
account, playback as a standard user would not work until the admin
account had imported and played video. That seems to have sorted out the
problem with most machines. Mine however is still not playing ball and I
am running out of ideas so any more help would be much appreciated.
Here are the details you asked for:
It is MBP6,1 and has a 2.53 Ghz Intel Core i5 processor. The memory is
4GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 and is running Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
I am importing from the G-Drive Mini (4 gen) 500GB and the file is a
QuickTime movie, Codecs DVC - PAL, Linear PCM
The sequence is a DV-PAL standard 48Khz and and when placed into the
timeline the clips have a red bar above them.
Hope this is useful info and I hope you can help
Many Thanks

  • Canvas playback gets stuck after few seconds

Hi Guys, I'm posting this as my last chance to find some help. Recently I read tons of threads about choppy playback in FCP canvas but couldn't find anything useful.
I'm using unibody MBP 2.6 GHz, 4GB RAM. Latest Mac OS X version, latest FCP 7 version.
I'm trying to edit a footage captured by Canon 5D Mark II Camera. Using Compressor I downscaled the footage from Full HD to 1280x720 using Apple ProRes Codec. After importing into the FCP timeline it plays smoothly but if I do any change to the clip (speed change), canvas plays only 2 or 3 seconds of the clip, gets stuck while playhead is still moving and then when playhead reaches the end canvas shows the last frame of the clip. So when I wanna play the clip, canvas plays first few seconds then gets stuck and then shows me final frame.
You would probably need some more information about my sequence...if you do so, just ask.
Please, help me as I really need to finish this clip for my client.
    Thanks

Yep, it is...I wanted to make my editing portable...I'm gonna move the clip to my FW800 HDD and let you know if that cause the problem.
    Thanks

  • Wierd problem with video playback getting corrupted

I have a "week 38" iPod Touch 16 that didn't exhibit any negative black issues or other problems.
But ever since I did the 1.1.1 update I sometimes get weird psychedelic colors in the dark areas of the video playback (iTunes purchases or YouTube). A reset (holding both buttons for 10 seconds) solves the problem, but it will sometimes come back a few days later.
    Anyone else seeing this?

Same thing has happened on my 38 wk model, once.
It happened first on You Tube, so I thought it was a problem with that but, when I checked some videos they were also, 'psychedelic'. Those I knew WERE fine as I had loaded them only that morning and they were beautifully crisp and clear.
I was actually, showing it to a bunch of people at the time and that was a real let down after their initial 'WOW' reactions at the device.
Fortunately, I shut down. And when I restarted, all was back to normal.
Hope it doesn't do it again!!!

  • Flash video FLV getting stuck in same spot

    hi there,
i'm not sure if anyone has posted about this exact same
question, but if so, i can't find the answer. but i used to have no
problems at all importing quicktime or other format video files
into flash and exporting them as flv files. but it seems like
lately it's playing as normal and then getting stuck about half way
through. it's happening to me now with a quicktime file but it's
happened before with mp4 files as well. but...not every time.
by the process of elimination i'm trying to figure out if
it's a flaw with the originating quicktime file, if it's a quirk
with CS3, how the program is handling other files of the same
format. at times i am able to import a quicktime file and it
exports as it is supposed to. but it seems more often than not, i'm
not able to. is it the codec i'm using? the publishing setting?
i know it's not the file size because it gets stuck even when
i play it on my harddrive. i'm going crazy, has anyone else worked
through this problem or is it something wrong with my system?
    helpp!!!!!!!

You'll need to create a crossdomain.xml file as evidenced by the following header:
    http://web.zone.ee/crossdomain.xml
    HTTP/1.x 404 Not Found
A cross-domain policy file is an XML document that grants a web client—such as Adobe Flash Player (though not necessarily limited to it)—permission to handle data across multiple domains.

  • Flash crash when i export my animation as a video and get stuck at 64%

When i export my animation for a video it makes a swf file but it renders till 64% and get stuck and flash freeze and close, how can i fix this?

When you select to use RAM or disk to render with, if you're using RAM try selecting to use DISK instead and make sure you have enough space available for the final file. If you're exporting anything near HD size with no compression then you should have potentially hundreds or thousands of GIGS available for your animation.

  • Urgent friends ,, video playback problem in adobe premiere pro cs4

i have installed pro cs4 , i converted a mov video file as wmv file and imported in the procs4,,,, the problem is when i play the video in the time line (ie.in  the editing pane ) to edit the video,,,, its getting stuck.... the video is abt 40 sec, but after 2o sec its getting stucked and play..... what is the problem friends pls help me....

Smooth playback can depend on many factors.
First, converting to WMV is not the best choice, as WMV's are heavily compressed, and require more "horsepower" to decode and work with. If your material is SD, say 720 x 480 for NTSC, the DV-AVI would be a better choice there.
Rendering the Timeline, if one has red lines above the Clip(s) in the Timeline, will get playback, as smooth, as is possible.
One's computer can have a big, big impact on how well one can playback the Timeline. Can you list the complete computer's specs.?
    Good luck,

  • 60 gig 5th Gen video playback issue

Before I start let me say I've reset my ipod several times and the problem still exists. I wish there was a solution that didn't involve me erasing my ipod.
I have a year old 60 Gig video iPod. Video on my iPod played well up until about two updates ago. Now the video will get stuck during playback.
The audio will continue uninterrupted but the image will freeze on the current frame. Anyone hear of this? Or anyway to fix it?
    Thanks

Take your earphones and ipod to an Apple Store. Let the staff listen to the screeching. Or call ipod tech support while you are still under warranty: U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273)

  • I just moved my itunes library from a win 7 computer to a win 8.1 computer. Getting an error message "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. Can't play CDs or get audio file from web!

Help! I just moved my itunes library from a Win 7 computer to a new Win 8.1 computer following the instructions on the itunes website. Everything is good except I'm getting an error message on the Win 8 computer if I try to play a CD or get an audio file off of the internet. I get an error message that says "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. I don't know where to look for or fix the audio configuration on the win 8 computer. As far as I can tell the iTunes configuration looks the same as on the other computers in the house. At this point I don't dare plug my ipod touch into the Win 8 computer for fear it will get messed up.

I have the same problem and I know that it is due to my PCI Audio driver not being compatible with WIndows 8.1.
iTunes isn't the only program that can't direct sound to the built-in speakers anymore. The obvious solution would be to update the drivers, but unfortunately Dell does not provide an updated driver for my model, so I am stuck with that.
However, saying that, only my laptop speakers are affected by this. I can use sound fine on applications where I can choose the output device and direct sound to the head phones, but for some reason iTunes does not let you choose the audio device manually.
To listen to music I imported the iTunes Library in Windows Media Player and changed the audio output using the following instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/c00d11ba
However, I would also like to rent movie's from iTunes,
Would be great if iTunes would let you choose the output device, too, like most other applications using sound  from Skype to Windows Media Player,...

When I use my IPhone 4S to view the Shaw Go Movie Central App when I am at home I only use WiFi which is automatic, I start watching a show and sometimes I will get a message like "you can not use your cellular for video playback" or something close to that. Then I received an email from Telus saying I had used my 3G instead of Wi-Fi  using 75% of my data. How can this happen when I'm on Wi-Fi at home? If it switched to 3G for some reason I should have been disconnected and not just transferred to 3G network using up my data. What is the fix for this??

It doesn't have to be that complicated, Verizon iPhones come unlocked, just tell VZ you're going on Holiday/Traveling and suspend the service, no need to pay for service if you're not going to be using it. Pick up local SIM cards in the countries of your choosing, pop them in, re-activate iMessage and you're set!
I recommend getting a SIM card from the Three network in England, they have great EU roaming rates and free like-home roaming in Italy.
Set your phone's region to match the country you're in, it'll save from some headaches when calling local/international numbers.
    To answer your questions,
    1. If you choose not to have a local SIM card, it is good to keep your phone in Airplane mode to save battery.
    2. Make sure the two iPhones have different names to reduce sync/restore issues.
    3. If husband has an iPhone also, you can chat with iMessage/Facetime, just give him heads up about the new number you'll have. Otherwise, use Whatsapp if he's got an Android. You can activate Whatsapp with your American number or the international number if you choose to get a SIM in Europe.
Also, Get the MagicJack app and/or Google Hangouts, both of those apps provide you with free calling to the USA and Canada using any internet connection. Google Voice is another good way to SMS across the seas.
Let me know if you need any more tips for iPhoning across the pond.

    hi friends
i have been using the video ipod since a month.i use videora to transcode videos..but today i dunno why but exactly after 30 sec. the movies get stuck for say 3-4 sec. and then i loose sound but the movies play from where they left..

      Windows XP

It won't. I'll make it much worse. Stick to the 1.0 updater that came with your iPod and don't upgrade to 1.1.

  • How to prevent video playback from getting paused when switching to another tab on Firefox for Android?

In Firefox for Android 27.0, if you play video in one tab and while it's playing you switch to another tab, the video gets paused. I want the video to continue to play while I'm viewing another tab (so I can at least hear its sound!).
    How can I do that?
How can I prevent Firefox for Android from pausing video playback when switching to another tab?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi hamid_ss,
Currently Firefox for Android does this by default with embedded players. Some sites go automatically to full screen too which may be what you are running into. Try it.

  • How do I get a picture in my iTunes video playback screen?

Current Firefox versions have a built-in feature to take a screenshot as part of the Web Developer Toolbar.
    *Web Developer > Developer Toolbar
A quick way to save a screenshot is to press the "s", then the F1 key will bring up a help pop-up where you can click the "screenshot" entry' or use cursor Up/Down and press the Enter key.<br />
The default file name is "Screen Shot yyyy-mm-dd at HH.MM.SS.png" in the download directory.

You will have to type options yourself because clicking an entry in the pop-up that appears after the first "-" doesn't work (to see available options, use: screenshot --).

  • FCPX gets stuck on 0% when trying to export video

    Hi.
Final Cut Pro will always get stuck at 0% when I try to export a video in the "Apple Devices" format. This just started happening recently. Is there any way I can get this to start working again?

Are you editing with H.264 natively?  FCPX will freeze on a "bad frame" in an h.264 cut (usually at the very beginning of the clip.) If you are editing H.264 natively, you can usually get FCPX to behave if you right click on your Event clips and Transcode > Optimized media. You should also trim off the bad frames (they are typically solid green) in the storyline.

Does the G5 get hot after 1-2 hours of video playback?
Should we be worried about putting skins or sleeves on them for protection?
Do they get hotter when sending output to TVs?

I noticed my 3g 20 Gb iPod ONLY gets hot when I reload all 20Gb of music on it. (i do this about once every year, to de-fragment all the files)
