Video Resolution Help (also GET FLASH + ALL ONLINE VIDS ON IPOD!!!) READ!!!

Hey people, I have come across a whole bunch of conversion programs for the ipod, and I wanted to know if any have this cool feature.
Basicly, I want to convert any resolution (shape) movie to the ipod. Some Flash movies (yes, you can have flash movies on your ipod -just google flash to ipod) come in wierd resolutions (ie 530 x 432 or somat wierd like that) and I want to get them on my 'pod without distorting or cropping them. Well geovid flash to ipod just letterboxes it instead! (puts black space around movie)
Ok, so I want to be able to do this to other movies,or at least encode them at a resolution that doesnt distort the movie. I found out that you can also get online streams of video (basicly everything that isnt a flash movie) on your ipod!! (Google "Stream Capture)This means all FunnyJunk videos, YouTube shows, and StupidVideos can play on your ipod!! The only problem is distortion. These videos are usally more standardised (less strange resolutions) then flash videos, but some get distorted when put on ipod. We need a program like Geovid flash to ipod that puts a black space around the movie intead of distorting it. Or, if I stupidly dont know of some other method of doing this, let me know. Do you know any programs that do this? Or can i just encode at a diferent resolution? Help!!

As I mentioned on my original post. I have done a soft reset, hard reset, removed the screen protector, cleaned under the edge, wiped off the screen with a soft clean dry cloth, recalibrated the touch screen, the screws are tight. I have always stored it in the hard case it came in. I use it mostly for contacts, the calendar and writing memos if I am shopping. I am very frustrated with the entire situation. I know how to pull up the keyboard by using edit so I can still use the palm when out. To say I am very unhappy would be a minor understatement. I had an old Palm100, years ago and it lasted me for a very long time. This has lasted 4 months (well closing in on 5 now) and already I am having trouble with it. When I sent Palm a letter, they took 2 weeks to respond and the best they could do is tell me to return it and for the price of $149.00 they will fix it. I have a feeling there is no solution to my problem unless I want to pay to have it fixed, which I won't do. I also think Palm should be addressing the problem considering how many times I have seen this problem posted.
My response to Palm is this: I tell everyone I know how unhappy I am with your product, including online stores where they want you to rate the product. I will never get anything from you again and that includes your fancy phones with palm software. To warrenty something for 90 days considering the price I paid for it, especially when you know this problem exists, is unfair to consumers. I purchased the product directly from Palm, stupid me.
Sorry to go off. I am sure Palm will not read this message nor care it is written. Thanks for letting me vent.

"Mode not supported" freezes AppleTV Gen3 on Samsung 61in DLP. AppleTV is ok when moved to another TV... Help me get it back online with the Samsung?

I just hooked up the AppleTV Gen3, and it worked great on my 61in Samsung DLP TV that should do 1080i. When I looked at the resolution settings in the AppleTV menu, it said 720i. I tried to change the resolution in the settings menu, and it came back with a message "mode not supported..." I was able to initially get back to the menu and choose what I thought was a supported resolution (1080i), and it again displayed the same message, this time freezing the AppleTV. I could no longer communicate with the AppleTV device although the remote was working fine.
I tried most solutions that I read on the support forums. So far nothing has worked ie changing HDMI inputs, removing power, etc. I moved the AppleTV to another Samsung TV, and it worked fine - and I was able to adjust the resolution. When I returned to the orignal Samsung it again displayed the "mode not supported" menu and it remains frozen. Any solution? Will a reset back to factory settings help - or am I stuck? Frustrated. Help?

Help - Cannot get flash to open, keeps terminating after fatal exception

Says "FlashPro encountered a fatal exception. FlashPro will now terminate" Makes a log and says to enter a bug. Of course there doesn't seem to be anywhere to actually contact support or enter a bug.
There is another discussion with a similar issue and there are about 11 replies of people asking what thaey can do with no answers. Figure I might start afresh.
The main bug report form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform literally has almost every program EXCEPT Flash. bugbase.adobe.com only covers about 6 products, flash not one and them and the file attachment doesn't support the dump files flash created (.mdmp) so that can't possibly be of help.
I own a couple of creative suite licenses and just installed a trial of CS6 to check it out. I used it once to save down some files and then it just stopped working for me. I've re-booted, uninstalled and reinstalled Flash etc to no avail..

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted. 
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
You can try to switch on Private Browsing ot see if that works with a new set of cookies.

Please help me get my songs off of my iPod ASAP!

I have an iPod touch and a long time ago I did this thing with my nano to get all of the songs off, but it doesn't work with my touch. What you do is basically open the preferences window in iTunes so that it can't read the iPod and then you open my computer and find the iPod and the music folder and basically in the end you put the folder in iTunes. Well for some reason the iPod doesn't appear in my computer. I only need to do this so that I can transfer the songs to a MAC I just bought so hat I will be able to sync without losing all of my songs. Can anyone tell me why the computer doesn't read my iPod? It is a piece of crap with like only a couple hundred MBs left but I am pretty sure it should still read the ipod. Is it just because it is a touch? Thank you very much for any help!

I think that the easyest way without downloading freeware is to use the command line.
ssh root@Your ipod's ip
Password: alpine
use 'cd' to go between folders and 'ls' to see what is in the folders.
when you find the folder you can use scp -r 'folder name' (be sure to use \ before spaces Ex. iPod\ Music) 'username on computer'@'computer's ip/:'folder location'
should look like
scp -r iPod\ Music [email protected]:desktop
There may be bugs in this code, look up the right code if there are.
Also there may not be a specific location you can see that has the songs in it.
If ur on mac use Terminal, Windows... Download Putty, it'll come in handy later on in life.

I need help on getting iOS 3 on an old iPod Touch.

I am not real familiar with the iPod Touch, just my iPhone. This is an older iPod Touch that my teens had and now I would like to use it for my 3 y/o but most apps I try to download require OS 3.0 or later.

Okay, solved. Simple really, just moved the media folder location and there was no duplication. Phew!

When downloading video to Facebook I get message "Firefox is preventing you from reloading this page" and allow button doesn't do any good.

when I try to download a personal video to Facebook I get the message " Firefox prevented this page from automatically reloading". I click the allow button which lets it start downloading but it only stays on 3-5 seconds then gives me the message all over again. At this rate it would take an hour to download a one minute video. I also get this message in other programs and I don't have a clue how to stop it. Help me please!!!

Website servers can redirect more than once, so you may not see anything happen and may need to click Allow more than once.

Hopefully it isn't too late for this but: before performing an update it is really best if you close all apps (double click the home button, click and hold on one of the apps that appears at the bottom of the phone until the red minus sign appears and then tap the minus sign until all apps are closed) and then turn the phone off by holding the standby button until the slider saying "slide to power off" appears and slide it to turn the phone off. Then turn the phone back on and hook it up to your computer to sync and perform the upgrade. This also helps if you do this before performing syncs too. I had problems with an iPod previously where it would fail to backup before sync most times, but have never had a problem with updates or syncs since I started performing this procedure. Unfortunately, your pre-update backup may have failed and the data in your apps might be gone, but you could try to restore your phone. If I remember correctly how to do this, you connect it to your computer and check for updates. It should say you're up to date, but have an option to restore the phone. If it does, I'd try that. It may also have a "restore from backup" option you could try.

Please help me get my iPad safari bookmarks back, thanks.

Hi, I quitted Safari and press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously unti the Ipad turn off and on with the logo Apple appears but it has hanged on and fixed to the point. I do it again hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously and the Ipad turn off and on again with the Apple logo but it still is hanged on the same point. I have do it a few more time, it still hanged to the same point for few hours with no change (like picture):
I think my Ipad is fault now. I guess I must connect it to the computer with itune, or something. So my case is this: at the moment everytime I hold the Home and Sleep buttons the Ipad always off and reappear with the Apple logo and be hanged on (like the pic), and I need restoring my Ipad Safari bookmarks... so I guess I need using Itune or something to get back the Ipad then using Icloud or blah. Please guide me for the step, Im not sure if connect to PC, if any that my Ipad data would lost, or is there anyway that I also can get back Ipad Safari Bookmarks after connecting to PC, also the how using Icloud. There is no Apple store or service store in my country so I think I must do it my self. Feel free to share your guide, thanks.

Friend gave me used iphone3-we used it for 6 mos -now when we synced it to PC, our used iphone now has the contents of our existing iPod - lost everything that was on our used iphone!! How to get it all back (we only care about home videos/photos). Help

A friend gave us her used iphone. We used it to take home videos and photos, and now that we synced it to our PC it has lost everything on it, and it has been replaced with the contents of our already existing iPod. In other words, all our music, photos and apps that were on our existing itunes account (used with our IPOD) etc, have been put into this used iPhone. Is there any way to get back all that stuff (mainly just want our home videos and photos back!!) Where on earth are they? Are they stored somewhere on my PC? I feel so dumb for syncing it now, and very sad for having lost my precious videos of my kids.

If you open the recovery drive (partition) it should only have a single folder (Recovery).
To make sure that your not saving restore points to that drive.
See:
Start, Control Panel, System, System Protection tab. Make sure the D drive partition is set to OFF so that it does not save there.
