Videos inserted into Adobe Captivate 7

Will a video inserted in Captivate 7 from my personal computer (event or synchronized) play in a published project on others' computers or do I need to find an online host for my videos?

You need to host your videos from a web server.

  • How do I caption flash video that I have inserted into adobe captivate 4, or is it even possible?

    I have been creating online tutorials for my University's student organization and events department and accesibility issues require that all posted video or tutorials be captioned.  This requirement was the main reason that my office purchased Captivate, so I am very hopeful that there is a means to caption video that I insert into a Captivate project.  Please let me know.

    I sort of asked the same question a while back and I'm wondering if you have done the same as me...I kind of answered my own question:

    Hope that helps, although I never got an answer to my additional question on that thread

  • Importing  a Video Transcript into a Captivate Project /Adobe Captivate 7

    I have a video imported into my Captivate Project, and I have a script for the video, is there any way to import the script without me having to type it in Captivate?

    If you want the the transcript (known as Closed Captions in Captivate) to be in sync with the video, then that is going to be a tedious task. I would suggest you do that in some video editor tool outside Captivate, emded the transcript into video and then import the video into Captivate.

  • Video inserted into slide containing audio playing at different volumes

    I have inserted a video into a Captivate 5 project that has audio on most slides. When I publish and play the project, the video plays at a much lower volume than the rest of the project.  Is there a way to even out the volume between inserted videos and the rest of the project?

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
    Are you working on a MAC or Windows computer ?
    What type of video you are inserting in your project ?
    Is that a slide video ?
    What is the exact version of Adobe Captivate you have ? (Help -> About Adobe Captivate)
    What are you publishing ? (SWF or a different output) ?
    If SWF, did you try different browsers ?
    Thanks,

    I don't understand this. I am not a code expert by any means, but I was told that by purchasing the Deamweaver software I would not need to be a web developer to make a site?? The remainder of the site looks great, but I need to insert some video clips on this one page and it won't do it. Please help me!!

    Go to Sites > Manage Sites > Edit your site definition settings.  If you haven't defined a site yet, Hit NEW and set-up your Local Info first.
    Then, select Remote Info (it's in the Advanced panel).
    Fill in the fields with the log-in details your host sent you.   This is how DW will connect you to the remote server.
    NOTE: my screenshot looks different but you get the general idea.
    Hit OK.
    Select your test page in the Files Panel and hit the UP arrow to upload your page & dependant files to the remote server.   As Hans said earlier, you need all four files to support Flash Video.
    Come back and post the URL to your page.

  • Trouble Importing PowerPoint 2003 file into Adobe Captivate 3

    I am using Adobe Captivate 3 and am having difficulty importing a owerPoint 2003 file.  The file has 26 slides but Captivate only recognizes 17 of them.  The powerpoint file has no transitions or animations set that would cause any issues.  Any ideas as to what could be causing this?
    By the way when I open up Powerpoint and import the slides from my original file and do not keep the source formatting, the end file will be come into captivate fine(all 26 slides) but an animation that was not there originally now exists.

    Hi there
    You could try just running the PowerPoint and recording it from Captivate as it plays.
    You would also want to report the issue as a bug.
    Cheers... Rick

  • I would like to embed a video like this one created using Zaption into Adobe Captivate 6

    http://zapt.io/tt8r6fep
    I was told that I needed an LTI plug-in. What does this mean?

    You already posted this question in another thread.  Please do not double-post. It's quite annoying to those of us that spend our time for free answering questions here.

  • Linking video files with Adobe Captivate

    Hi good people
    I am preparing a video for Youtube and I have two components. The first is a video of me talking to the camera in MOD format (which can be changed to a WMV file by changing the extension - this does not seem to affect the playing of the video).
    The second is a screen capture made with the trial version of Captivate 5 which demonstrates how to use certain functions on my website.
    What I need to do is to join the two files together in a format that I can then upload to Youtube in a single movie, but I cannot find any way of converting one of the files to the other format or importing both into a separate program altogether so the end result can be exported in a format that Youtube will understand.
    I am using Windows XP.
    Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.
    Thanks
    Will

  • I am having major issues importing Animated gif's into Adobe Captivate

    Hi everyone
    Captivate 7 (64 bit) keeps crashing when i import animate gifs into flash.
    It's a serious workflow issue for us as the project requires animated gifs.
    I don't have any files to supply for this query as i can't even import gif's into a blank doc.
    Has any one found a solution for this issue ?
    Adobe ??  Have you got a fix for this bug ?
    Thanks in advance
    Nick

    How were the GIF's created? Which version of 7 do you use, you can see the complete version number under Help, About Captivate.
    I have been using animated GIF's in 7, they were created with Photoshop. And I know that each frame in the animation has to have a duration that is not 0secs.

  • Importing video files into Adobe Premiere Pro CS3

    I own a Sony Handycam DCR-SX63.  When I import the movies I have taken onto my PC (Vista) they are .MPG files.  When I import these files into Premiere Pro CS3 the video portion imports but the audio of that file does not.  I have read all I can find and nothing seems to answer my question directly.  I tried an encoder to see if maybe Premiere doesn't accept .MPG files.  I converted it to .AVI file and tried to import and that gave me audio with no video.  I tried opening the new project with a dozen different settings offered up by Premiere but every one I tried gave me the same outcome when I tried to import my video file.
    Please. please. please help.  I am pulling my hair out.
    I appreciate any help given.
    Thanks

    First... To work with AC3 sound files in Premiere CS3, copy the ad2ac3dec.dll file from the Encore CS3 directory into the Premiere directory

  • Video Quality using Adobe Captivate

    Hello All,
    I was wondering what the highest quality video that Captivate can capture is?
    In researching it, it references Standard, Optimized, JPEG and High Quality.  I was just wondering if someone knew what the dimensions actually are and if it can capture in HD quality?
    I am in the process of choosing a screen capture software.  There are a lot out there, and by far Captivate is the most expensive.  However having purchased the Master Collection from Adobe and liking all the software content within I thought this software could be useful for my screen capture needs.
    However if the level of video capture is not better than say Camtasia I don't see the point in purchasing it as opposed to Camtasia.
    Thank You!

    You can create high quality capture content in Captivate at almost any screen resolution you want.  Full HD is around 1900x1080 pixels and if your screen resolution is big enough, Captivate can capture at that size, though your resulting file size will be fairly huge.  For YouTube Widescreen HD you can capture at 1280x720.
    At this precise moment in time, Camtasia does indeed have the edge over Captivate in terms of full motion video capture.  If FMV is all that you want to use for training content or presentation, and interactivity is not required, nor do you need powerful assessment functionality, AND you have to make a decision about buying a tool right now, then Camtasia might be a good choice.  However, if you do need to create interactive content, with SCORM assessable content for LMS delivery, then Captivate is still the best choice.
    Even as far as FMV, if you can hang off a little while until Captivate 6...

  • Control where to start and stop an SWF file inserted into a Captivate 6 slide.

    I am working on a project in which I need to insert SWFs on to slides in Captivate 6 and I've reached a hick-up. Some of the SWFs only need to start play at a specific frame (which is not necessarily the beginning of the SWF) and stop play at a specific frame (which is not necessarily the end of the SWF).
    Is there a way, by use of "Execute Advanced Actions" or "JavaScript", to control the play of a SWF, inserted on a slide, so that it starts and stops at desired frames?

    I think it is almost there now. Thanks for putting me int he right direction. You may be able to offer observations on my coding:
    this.onLoad = function() {
        stop();
    this.onMouseMove=function()
        // Test current mouse position is within the dimensions of the image
        if(_root._xmouse >= 0 && _root._xmouse <= 130 &&
           _root._ymouse >= 0 && _root._ymouse <= 420)
            // It is safe to play the animation as the mouse is within the
            // stage area
            play();
        else
            // We must stop animating and revert back to the first frame
            gotoAndStop(1);
    this.onRollOut = function() {
        stop();

  • Video inserted into AP Element - Audio keeps playing on rollout

    Hi,
    I have created an AP Element that on rollover a thumbnail video plays of the full video.
    This works fine.
    However on rollout, the video does disappear, but the Video Audio keeps playing.
    How do I stop the Audio playing when the user rolls out of the link?

    It keep playing because your rollout action doesn't specifically turn off the audio (it only makes the video invisible). It probably doesn't stop the downloading of the video either. So while the video isn't displaying, it continues to download the entire file..... not a good idea!
    Depending on how you are playing the video, you'll have to devise a means of controlling the video (NOT just making it invisible).
    For example:
    If the player is a Flash player using NetStream, a simple ns.close(); button would work.
    If a JWPlayer, you can use javascript to stop the player, something like this:
    <a onclick="jwplayer().stop();"...........
    I know that's an onclick event, but you should get the idea.
    You'll have to adapt the principle to match your specific vid player.
    To eliminate this very common video player issue, you MUST stop the video (and audio) as the very first action, BEFORE you make the video player disappear.
    Best wishes,
