Videos within captivate project grow to full screen on click?

Hello,
I will be importing several videos into my Captivate project -- each will take up about 1/3 of the screen.  I would like to add a button that the user to click to grow the video to full-screen size and take up the entire frame of the Captivate project.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  I know some javascript, but I am not even sure where to start in javascript (if that is necessary.)
Thanks for any help!
Ryan

Hello,
Welcome to Adobe Forums.
You may another way to achieve it.
Add your videos twice (1st one in small size and another full screen size)
On the button click call an Advanced Action (Standard Action) -> "Hide" : 1st one and "Show" : Full Screen
Note : You need to "uncheck" Visible for the full screen video, once you add the full screen size (To hide the video)
Thanks,
Vikram

  • AE CC - Timeline expands to project length after full screen preview

This seems to have only started happening recently, and it's a pain. After you preview an effect in full screen, the time navigator brackets are pulled to the very start and end of the video. You return from a fullscreen video preview to see your timeline extended over the whole duration of the project.
Is there some way to turn this off? I frequently work on small sections of a project, regularly watching full-screen previews to check how various changes look, and after the tenth or so time what starts as a minor irritation becomes completely infuriating. It seems like something easily fixed, but I've had no luck finding out how.
    Thanks in advance.

Ah, okay, this is a more interesting problem than I thought. Sorry I didn't put that info in before; my assumption was this was a poorly-considered feature which could be easily turned off and I was just too dumb to figure out how.
I'm on Windows 7 x64, running AE version 12.2.1.5 (as far as I'm aware this is the latest version). I haven't done anything dramatic with my PC lately or with AE settings. If it helps, I'm running with: an Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz, 16GB RAM, using an Nvidia GeForce GT530.

    Hi, e8god.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The option to take apps full screen is still available.  Here are the steps on this feature in Yosemite.
    Take apps full screen
In many apps, you can expand the window to fill your entire screen. While in full-screen view, swipe to see another app’s full-screen window, to see your desktop, or to see a space you created.
Expand to full-screen view: Click the green full-screen button in the top-left corner of an app window, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.
Move between windows in full-screen view: Swipe left or right on a trackpad or Magic Mouse. For more information, see Learn trackpad and mouse gestures.
Return to standard view: Move the pointer to the top-left corner of the screen, then click the green full-screen button again, or press Control-Command (⌘)-F.
    Take apps full screen

  • Issue with Loading Multiple Videos within a Project

I am assembling a Captivate project that needs to include several videos that a quite large. When the entire project is written as a Windows executable projector file, the player does not open because the operating system cannot allocate enough memory to open the file.
I was adding these videos to the project through the "Event Video" option and browsing to the FLV located on my computer. When the Windows projector is created, it loads the entire video into the executable file.
Is there a way to load a SWF animation that has reference points to the video (located within the same directory as the SWF) so that when the Windows Projector file is written, it does not need to embedd the entire video into the executable file?
I am currently using Captivate 6.0.1.240.

    Just regarding point 2.
You will probably find that working in manageable sections (story logical and file size) will be best practice for all post subsequent to edit.
Ughhh, that is my concern! I'm hoping by having it broken down and organized in self-contained sequences, and by story arc--Prologue, Act One, Act Two...that this will work as good manageble sections as well as easier for story layout.
I hope by only bringing in each edited rough cut sequence into the Dolly Master Project File it will keep the Master file mean and clean. Also, the reason I started with Prelude was in hopes that I would have a more organized structure for editing, but I am not sure if by bringing in the Prelude rough cuts and supporting footage files if that helps or undermines the too large file issue. However, I really do not have a clue as to what things will really make my files too large or too complicated.
A lot of hope there I know!
I try to make it a habit of hitting ctrl-s everytime I complete an action. I have auto-save set to every 15 minutes. I save the project file on two internal hard drives and one external hard drive. At the end of the work day or more often if I have accomplished a lot I email myself a dated/timed copy of the project files. I'm thinking it might be better if I get another dropbox account to have another offsite back-up.
Well, last night I took a Leap of Faith in Adobe Prelude. I established my project files and sent all of my rough cuts to the appropriate project files. I have to say it was pretty painless. In Prelude right-click rough cut > left-click send to Premiere Pro > wait a few seconds.
The only drawback is that I could not select a bin in Premiere in which to send the footage and rough cuts. So I had to drag the footage/rough cut files to the appropriate bin. This would be a nice feature to add.
Here is a link to a pic of my desktop.

So now the story layout begins! Thanks again and again!

  • Track completion of embedded swf within captivate project

I have a swf created within captivate 4 which is a traiining simulation.  Now I want to embed this simulation on a screen within a new host captivate project and enable the next progress button only when the embedded training simulation is done. What is a good way to do this?
While trying different options, a problem I am running into is the embedded training simulation does not close when all the interactivity is done even if the swf publish options are set to close upon completion.  It wants to run for a set time. Any ideas are much appreciated.

    Hi Gaspar,
Are you using a preloader for the project? If so, the default
one in Captivate waits for 60% of the project to load before
playing. Perhaps try to add the preloader if you aren't using one,
or remove it if you are to see if that makes a difference. In
Captivate 3, you can change this option in Preferences -->
Project --> Start and End --> Loading Screen.
    Good luck,
    David
Edit: I just tried this too and got the same results when
publishing with all versions of Flash - I was a little surprised to
see it even with Flash 7 exports, because Captivate has let me
embed .swf animations into a single .swf project file using Flash
    7. I'm guessing that whatever Flash "engine" Captivate uses to
create its own FMV .swfs must be Flash 8 or 9. That would be
something that would be nice to adjust - especially because of the
lack of the ability to merge .swf files into one file. I guess I'll
    send a feature request again...

  • How do I make multiple videos on one slide play in full screen when selected?

I want to put four short videos per slide and have each play in full screen when I click on them. How can I do this? Thanks

I've figured out to hyperlink to the video in a different presentation, which works. BUT how do I end back on my original slide?

  • Playing video in web page instead of full screen

There is no "web authoring for iPad" forum. So I apologize for posting in the inappropriate section.
I have a web page with multiple video feeds, each with its own playlist, all playing at the same time. This works well with computer browsers. But the iPad/iPod/iPhones keep opening one video full screen. Is there a way to get the videos to play in their place on the web page instead?

Only the iPad is capable of playing videos in place. iPhone and iPod Touch will always open videos in a separate Quicktime window. I don't believe you have to do anything special for the video to play in place on iPad. Just embed the video as normal.

  • Youtube videos wont go to an actual full screen.

i have no clue what happened, just the other day when i clicked on full screen on youtube videos, it actually went to full screen. now when i click on full screen it just fills up my firefox with the video besides the top address bar. i took a screen shot of a random video if that helps. i would like it to go back to the way it used to be, and the way other videos play still.

  • Project iOS iMovie full screen to projector

How do I project an iOS iMovie full screen to projector from my iPad

When you say iMovie shuts down when you try to play your project in full screen, does iMovie crash? Or does iMovie stay open. I have no solution as my iMovie will crash if I try to play full screen. The only work around is to export to Quicktime and play that in full screen. But all that is labor intensive.Good luck.

  • Adding video to captivate projects

I understand how to add a video to a slide project in Captivate when the video is either over the slide or part of it.  What I want to do is add video next to the slide the same way Adobe did in their marketing presentation for Captivate 5 which used to be on their Captivate page in adobe.com.  This video has now been replaced by the ad for Captivate 5.5 so you can't see the one I am referring to here.  There was a man standing next to the slide talking about it and demonstrating something that Captivate could do.  I cannot find any tutorials or instructions to assist me in figuring this out.  Can anyone assist?

    Hello,
Pooja pointed to a blog where insertion of slide video on different slides or in the TOC is explained. But I'm not totally sure that this is what you are looking for. So, please do correct me if I do not give the right interpretation to your question.
I think you want on the same slide capturing of a software app and a video. Is this a greenscreen video or a normal video? In Allen's example in the blog post it is a greenscreen video, the pixels behind the speaker are transparant, so it is possible to put him on top of slides if that is acceptable for you.
But putting a slide video next to captured screens, will need some rescaling. Before I try to explain, waiting for your answers, I could point to a blog post that I created a while ago about rescaling to create a Knockout Master slide. The real estate you created in this way can be used to insert your slide video and eventually other objects next to the captured slide. This post will show better what I mean by rescaling:

i had a video all ready and running and what-not and i wanted to add another video into the corner of it to show a different angle. how can i do this with premiere cs6?

In the effects control pannel it doesn't show an option for 'motion/position' there are only:

    - channel
    - colour correction
    - distort
    - generate
    - image control
    - keying
    - noise & grain
    - perspective
    - stylize
    - time
    - transform
    - transition
    - utility
    - video

  • When I am viewing a video clip online and switch to full screen it does not play right. It becomes a sloppy streamed video. It used to play perfectly. How do I fix it back?

Recently I opened Microsoft IE after a long period on not using it. I installed bingbar but have uninstalled it. When installing it said to disable realplayer download switch which I assume it did. Not sure it the problem started with that or not.

Does it help if you make the Find bar (Ctrl+F) or the Add-ons bar (Ctrl+/) (Firefox > Options or View > Toolbars) visible?

  • When viewing video, I want to go to full screen. When I do, the screen goes blank. I press esc. to go back to video. Any sugestions?

Latest version of adobe flash play is installed.

    Hello, ArantxaR.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here is an article that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
Your computer cannot wake from sleep
Make sure your computer isn't powered off by pressing the power key for one second.
If you're using an external display, make sure your display is not powered off or unplugged.
If you are using a Mac notebook:
Make sure the computer's battery is charged. Try connecting the power adapter to the computer, then press the power button for one second to see if the computer powers on.
Make sure the AC power cord is connected securely to the power outlet, and that the outlet it is working correctly. Confirm the power adapter or cable is attached firmly.
If your computer is plugged into a power strip, make sure the power strip is not turned off. Check to make sure other items connected to the power strip are receiving power.
Confirm the right power adapter is connected on Mac notebook computers. If a lower wattage power adapter is used than the one that came with your Mac, it may not provide enough power to charge the battery while the computer is powered on. Make sure there is no debris in the MagSafe port that might prevent charging. When your MagSafe cable is connected properly, you should see a green or orange light on the connector.
If you are using a Mac desktop:
Make sure the AC power cord is connected securely to the computer and outlet.
Make sure the AC power outlet it is connected to is working properly.
If your computer is plugged into a power strip, make sure the power strip is not turned off. Check to make sure other items connected to the power strip are receiving power.
Your computer is slow to wake from sleep
If you see a progress bar when you wake your computer from sleep, this is normal. The computer is waking from safe sleep.
