View jasper report in jsp page

i have developed a java code that could connect to the databse n compile xml code into jasper report. report is generated when it is executed in dos prompt. however i wan the report to appear after a button "print" in a jsp page is pressed. how do i do dat? how do i ask my jsp page to execute my curret java code to generate a report?

Cannot view Crystal Report in JSP page ( error loading ? )

Hi,
 Can someone please help or pass on any suggestions,
 I am trying to view my crystal report (test.rpt) in my JSP page but get the following error and im having trouble sorting it out. I am using Crystal 10 with weblogic. My report is just a simple report ( no data connection needed) with just some hard coded text. I simply want to view it through a JSP page. Can anyone shed any light on the error. The error message is shown below. In my browser i get the message

Not able to compile an xml file using jasper reports through jsp page

hi,
i have compiled an xml file and got html,pdf etc using jasperreports but that was from an java application and now i want to convert this application to an jsp page so i have copied these jar files "commons-beanutils-1.5.jar","commons-collections-2.1.jar","commons-digester-1.3.jar","itext-1.01.jar","jasperreports-0.5.2.jar" to the folder "C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\lib" and have set classpath to these jar files.
my application(java class invoked by a servlet) is in C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes.
i m using this API "JasperCompileManager.compileReportToFile(fileName);"

ya i have "commons-logging-1.0.2.jar" file but when i tried to put it with other jar files and set the class path and run the application thru tomcat then it automatically stops the tomact.and when i removed this perticular logging jar file then tomcat works normally but gives the error which i mentioned before.
i have also tried the second option u suggested, by putting the LogFactory class files in "C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes\org\apache\commons\logging" but that was not working.shud i set some classpath for them? or shud i have to import these packages........ but when i copied this folder "org" to C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0\webapps\examples\WEB-INF\classes and in program wrote import org.* then copilation error occured "no such package found.

You can use rwservlet - nothing really to do with JDeveloper. Once you have report server up and running (hint: read http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/bi.1012/b14048/toc.htm), you can call a report like this:

Generate Jasper report in JSP

Hi all,
im currently doing some research on jasper. Im totally new to this and wish if somebody can give some tips on how to start off..Below are some of my questions..
1. After compile and create the report design using iReport, does it means when we've got our XML response from server ,we just feed in the fields accordingly to the .jasper file we've created earlier on OR we have to concurrently design,and compile report and send XML request to server...
2. Can provide me with some ideas of how to generate jasper report in JSP where the whole process is inclusive of passing XML request to server..retrieving data..formatting..passing result set to XML response ...may i know when is the process of generating jasper start off in between of this?
Please advise, im really blurred at the moment...

How to get the view tree from a jsp page

I would like to get the view tree of a jsp page. The idea is to dynamically include the content of one or more jsf pages into a UIPanel during a "value changed" event.
So, i could get from an arbitrary page like ...

The view tree can be retrieved by this way during the page is parsed, for example with scriptlets <%%>, or once the page has been parsed (the view has been builded and attached to the FacesContext).
My problem is to get the view tree of a page from another Context.
The idea is to build a dynamic layout of some pages that represents "views". I can imagine this like the concept of perspectives and views of Eclipse IDE.
Because of the difficulty to build it with pure JSP (cannot use dynamic ID nor JSTL ForEach), I try to build it into my backing bean and to bind it with a <h:panelGrid/>. By this way, I'm not able to use the <jsp:include/> tag as I usually did to include some content into the view tree.

More than one business component (views) in the same JSP page

Hi, I am trying to have more than one business component (views) in the same JSP page as Input Form.
For example:
There are two BC4J:
Person:
Code.
Name.
Address:
     Person_code
     Street.
     City.
There is a master detail relationship between them and there is a link between both views in the application module.
I want to create a JSP page with an Input form for both views. When the user decides to create a Person, I need to insert in both tables.
Insert code and name into Person table.
Insert Person_code, Street and City into Address table.
It is possible to do in Forms but I am not sure if I can be able to do this in JDeveloper 10G.

Launching a Discoverer report from jsp page

Hi
I have a discoverer workbook created using BI Discoverer (for relational). I want to accept some parameters for this workbook from a jsp page, which will also have a "View report" button. This button when pressed should open up the Discoverer workbook and all the parameters from the jsp should be passed to the workbook.
Is it possible? If yes, any details on it?
We do the same thing successfully to launch Oracle Reports from jsps, we simply build the url in the jsp, and from jsp we submit it to a new window, and it opens up the report. Similar functionality we are looking to launch Discoverer reports.
Any help will be appreciated.

You can open the workbook with URL parameters with Discoverer Viewer much like you would Oracle Reports. Setting anything form the username, password, workbook name, worksheet, and parameters. All the information can be found in the following document:

In my web application i am using jasperreport 3.0. to generate reports in excel format
My Application is configured in apache-tomcat-5.5.26 in Mac Server.
I have placed the following jar files in webapps/xxxx/WEB-INF/lib.

The reports are generated automatically and stored inside the webappss/xxxx/Reports/ folder. And i have given link to the generated excel file dynamically in JSP page.

yes the class mentioned in the stack trace is found in the jar file placed in web-inf/lib folder. can you tel what else can be the reason for this.
