Viewing Keywords in Browser in Aperture

How can I change the Aperture settings so I can see my keywords under the photos in the browser view? I have figured out how to do that in the Viewer and Split View, but I can't figure out how to do it in the browser view. I can get the photo number under the photos in the browser, but not the keywords. Thanks.

Goto 'View->Metadata Display->Customize...' you'll get the 'Browser & Viewer Metadata' window.
In the top pulldown labeled 'View:' select either 'Basic View' or 'Expaneded View' under 'Grid View' depending on which view you want to add the keywords to.
In the 'Metadata Fields' open 'IPTC', under 'IPTC" open 'Content'. Check 'keywords'

Filmstrip View in the Browser

I understand that there are three views in the Browser: Grid, List, and Filmstrip. The filmstrip view is only available when the Browser is set to "Split View". I know how to cycle through the views (press V) and they all work fine. My question is, where is the "Filmstrip view" icon that is shown in the Aperture 3 User's Manual on p 187 in Chapter 5? The manual says that this icon is only available in when the main view is set to split view layout. If I do this, all of those icons disappear. Am I missing something here?

I finally figured this out. In order to see the view grid, filmstrip and list buttons while in the "Split View" view, one needs to go to View>Browser>Show Sort & Filter Controls or use Shift-Command-F to toggle these buttons. I knew it was something simple, but it did take me awhile to find the right command. Just thought I'd post this in the hopes of helping someone else.

How can I remove the thin black border of Flash movie when viewed in a browser?

There is a thin border at the top and left margins of my Flash movie when the .html is viewed in a browser. How can it be removed?
Here's the movie.
One solution suggests replacing some code, but the code they suggest replacing doesn't even exist in my html file.
I have found questions similar to mine being asked all over different forums, but their solutions either don't work, or like the above, don't really apply. For such a common problem, finding the solution is getting a little frustrating.
I'm using Flash CS3 on a Windows PC rrunning XP professional.

Okay, I found the answer. It turns out that when I made the buttons in Flash (so the movie would have clickable links), the default stroke color was set to black. Change it to white and the outline is gone.
As for appearing only on the top and left of the movie - for some reason the bottom and right is being cropped a bit when it's placed in to the html page. But that's a topic for a different discussion.

Problem with LTKRN11N.dll after enabling "View PDF in Browser" option

Good afternoon,
I'm trying to install an internal business application on one of our office PC's but keep getting errors during the install. The two errors I receive are:
The ordinal 267 could not be located in the dynamic link library LTKRN11n.dll
The ordinal 173 could not be located in the dynamic link library LTDIS11n.dll
I've narrowed the problem down and can repeat it...it seems to be the result of enabling the option "View PDF in Browser" in the preferences of Adobe Reader 9.3. Simply unchecking the option does not fix the problem and neither does uninstalling Adobe or the other application. So far, the only answer has been to re-image the machine without the option, install the other application and then enable the option (if needed) however, once the option has been enabled, any further attempts to install the application, will fail, reuquiring a re-image.
Any help with how Adobe uses these dlls or what might remedy the problem would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the 2 DLLs you mentioned, are getting corrupted or modified due to some operation that might have been performed on them. Can you please try the below mentioned instructions and see if that gets your application to install without any errors:
1. Try installing your business app.
2. When you see the error message as stated, try running the below mentioned commands: (Start | Run | Type cmd and hit Enter)
    regsvr32 LTKRN11n.dll /i /s
    regsvr32 LTKRN11n.dll /s
    regsvr32 LTDIS11n.dll /i /s
    regsvr32 LTDIS11n.dll /s
3. The above commands should fix the issues in the mentioned DLLs and allow normal installation of your business app.
Hope this gets your app to work and install properly.

Problem: unable to view recordset in browser.

I have an ASP page and when testing the recordset, a record is returned. (except for one record within the row which is a text value/format).
But when viewing in the browser only table headings are shown and no records are displayed.
process; user logs in and is directed to results page.
(current recordset is a simplified version of what i want for testing purposes)
Gratuity Status and Remarks are not included at the moment in the recordset i have testing.

Have you deleted the browser history and cookies?
Are you checking this on a testing server? If so, make sure the connection to the database is established properly.

Updating to 7.10 disabled viewing pdf in browser

updating to 7.10 disabled viewing pdf in web browser which is working normally in 7.09 no matter settings in preference, internet, are all marked to view pdf in browser and allow fast web view etc, every pdf links are opened in a new acrobat window which is something I DON'T WANT.

Generating slideshows that can be viewed using any browser

I'm about to reach my wit's end with respect to using iPhoto to generate a slide show that can
1) easily be viewed in all of the major browsers, and
2) not be such a large file.
At present, I am using iPhoto to generate a slide show. This is straight forward and simple BUT if you have several pictures, the output file gets very large very quickly. I was able to easily produce 5 separate slide shows with a minimum of muss and fuss.
However, the various output files were quite large and attracted the attention of the persons responsible for managing our storage space. I was asked to take the iPhoto produced slide show and convert this to a Flash presentation. A conversion application (Any Video Converter) was recommended and I used this to generate a Flash presentation (the file extension is sfw).
It should be noted that these presentations were generated on a MacBook Pro, copied to a flash drive, and converted to a sfw format on a Windows machine. The files were then returned to the original MacBook Pro using the same flash drive.
At this point, using iWeb, I embedded the presentations on a web page using the appropriate snippet.
Browsing the generated web pages using any Mac, I can see all of the Flash presentations.
Browsing the generated web pages using any Windows based machine, I CANNOT see any of the Flash presentations.
All of that leads to the following question:
I'd like to generate slideshows using the photos I have gathered in iPhoto. However, given the problems I have experienced to date, it would seem that I should consider using something other than iPhoto to generate the slide shows. It is an absolute requirement that whatever I generate be viewable using any browser.
Can someone recommend a product (or process) that uses (interacts) with iPhoto to generate a variety of presentations that can be viewed using any browser?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do you have a MobileMe account? If so create a MMe gallery in iPhoto with the movies and publish. Then any browser will be able to view the slideshow movies. This gallery is an example: Movie Gallery
HOWEVER, be sure that your movies do not have a blank first frame so it doesn't look like mine does. I'm in the process of removing those blank frames. But you can see the concept.

View in external browser keeps opening new tabs

Recently, in a failed effort to address the new version's inability to close successfully, I reset Firefox. I seem to have lost another valuable setting, and I can't remember how to recreate it.
I use a peculiar, old html editor. When I ask it to "View in External Browser," naturally it opens Firefox. (I forget whether I created that setting or if it inherited it for me from my default in Windows.) In the past, if I asked to do so more than once, following further edits, it would open in the same tab, or rather in whatever tab was on top. Now, since my reset, it opens a new tab, and I can get a distressing number of them.
What setting have I forgotten to change, presumably in Firefox itself or Tab Mix Plus? Thanks,

As I say, I'm reluctant to change that about:config setting until I have to, since (1) it's not clear to me what it does and (2) I'm dead sure it's not an about:config setting I've ever had to touch before, so it couldn't possibly recreate my former behavior.
Now: I went into Tools, Options, Tabs and made sure that Open Links That Open in a New Window read Current Tab. Still, it was getting weird: even Googling for a site and then clicking on the search find opened a new tab, as if I really want to keep the Google listing. I'm sure I'd never seen that before on multiple computers over the years. Have others? Truly weird what v29 with Reset has done.
Next, I opened Tab Mix Plus Options and found I had the same option, weirdly enough, still set to New Tab, so I changed it. This stopped anything at all from opening in a new tab.
Now, it's progress, but I'm sure my old browser behavior was more intuitive than that. Some things really did open a new tab, such as external links in Facebook posts. I know I can get that from right-clicking, but I didn't have to. Now I'm still confused as to how much Firefox has changed on me in the last three weeks and how much time it has taken to try to adjust it. I've never been clueless at the computer before.

You need to use other methods like a router or firewall with a password protected logging feature if you want to see the history of visited website in a reliable way.
There are a lot of ways to clear the history and other private data in Firefox.

Font display in design view is wrong / browser displays it correctly

The links I place on my webstie pages display with the wrong (too large) font in design view but when the page is viewed in a browser, the links are displayed correctly. I have CSS entries in place that control link behavior and display and they work just fine in a browser but in design view, the link displays as a larger font than it should. I make all of the links bold. If I put a "class= " specification inside the <a> tag, then the size is right but if I then make the text bold, the size is once again displayed too large. If the text is not inside the <a> tag and it it's part of text1

Tthe size of text2 is always too large in display mode but is correctly displayed in a browser.
Any ideas?

Good point ... I inherited the code and CSS and changed a couple of 10pt to 12px so changing the CSS for links to 12px instead of 10pt will probably fix it. Still, I would have thought that design view would match what's seen in the browser regardless.

Private browsing basically prevents any data from being stored in your Profile folder. [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Private%20Browsing This] article provides more details.
Please note that cookies '''are '''created during a private browsing session. However, they are deleted once the session is ended or when you exit Firefox application.
Also note that other applications on your computer might be tracking which sites you visit (firewall, antivirus etc). They will still be able to collect your browsing related data even if you have activated private browsing in Firefox.

Ordinary webspace won't do - what you get is a text file: this is the problem - MobileMe took the file published by iCal and formatted it as a calendar. Presumably if you were running your own server as indicated in the help page it would do the same; but unless 1&1 can speficially provide you with a CalDAV server it's not going to work.
Do your colleagues have Macs? For those who do, they can subscribed to a shared calendar in iCal and it couldn't be simpler. Presumably Windows owners could do the same thing in a suitable calendar program; and this is a lot simpler solution.

box.net can do this for you. I seem to remember that this arose a while back, but I have a feeling that the poster then couldn't get it to work. I can't advise on that, but you might want to investigate it as an option.

I am trying out aperture, and I am trying to open my iphoto browser in aperture. When I click on "show Iphoto browser" it opens up the browser and shows the list of events, albums, etc. that is contained in iphoto, but then in the space where I would expect to see pictures, it says "no items to show," even when I know there are hundreds of photos in the album. Does anyone know why?

make sure you have the Library or a Project selected in Aperture prior to selecting File>Show iPhoto Browser
also, verify that the iPhoto Library is in it's default location in the Pictures Folder

Strange (arabic) font in Media browser for Aperture

Since a couple of days the media browser (available from iWork applications) shows strange (arabic) description of some of the standard folders of aperture.
I'm not aware of having changed anything or installed font managing software.
Any ideas for help?

Is it the same in all iWorks apps, or only one of them?
I checked, the corrupted text should read: Projects, Photos, Faces, Places.
And if you get the same corruption for all languages (german, english), then probably not the localization strings are wrong, but the framework that tries to access the strings. But I am not sure about where this framework resides, whether it is included in the System Library, the Media Browser, or inside Aperture.
It would be good to know, if other iApps that use the Media Browser have the same problem. Do you have Garageband or iWeb and could try to access Aperture from those ? And could you take some pictures with Photo Booth to see, if you can access these from Keynote or Pages?
And to exclude any wrong preference setting in your user library, try to use the Media Browser with Aperture from a different account.
And to exclude problems from a corrupted Aperture Library create a new Aperture Library with a few simple images and see ift the problem persists.
If the wrong strings occur only with Aperture I would reinstall Aperture.
If the problem occurs independent of all this I would recommend to reinstall the system.

Dreamweaver CC, View in external browser issue

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone know of this issue or if I might just have gotten somthing wrong?!
I'm quite new to web design, but following some courses so I know that I have solid code to test from...
I use Dreamweaver CC on OSX Maverick, and MAMP to set up my local testsing server. (all that works fine, and all ways have)
The issue that I find is when I click "view in external browser" my updates are not reflected. Sometimes after closing the browser and trying again? Sometimes nothing happens. If I close down Dreamweaver open it back up then with out fail the changes are there the first time arround.
As I said I'm quite new to coding and have started to play with sessions and cookies, but I'm aware that there might be instances there where, requesting and getting info might be the issue, But this is happening even on pages that have nothing like that on it?
Any ideas please, it's very ofputting as I'm learning I need to trust that what I see is my mistake, to locate my wrong code and learn from it. not and applications fault!

thanks I had try that, more than once...
After more "googleing" I have found out that it have something to do with the update of Dreamweaver, there are other people out there that have had similar problems. There are no answer though, I hope that a future update will fix this issue.
As for now, I took a day away from the screen and have just acsepted that I cannot trust live view and to pay extra atention to the preiview in browser is working (i have a simple title change that can tell me what version i'm viewing). it's come what anoying. but I have gotten on with work...
