Viewing RAW images in Bridge CS3

After downloading a EOS Canon picture (*.CR2) the Bridge shows the picture correct in thumbnail mode (1).
Switching to Viewing screen mode (2)  the RAW picture starts somewhat blurry but within a few seconds it switches to a clear picture.
Recently this feature does not work anymore. The picture remain blurry
What have I done wrong or unintentional changed?

In the viewing screen and slide show mode problems frequently point to the video card driver.  Make sure you have the latest update.  In some cases the latest update can BE the problem.  If so try rolling back to the previous version that worked.
Another option you can try is to go to advanced preferences and select "use software rendering".

  • How to view the Nikon D4 RAW images in Bridge CS3

I am in the process of buying the lattest Nikon camera the D4. However, I am still using CS3. I am wondering if I am still going to be able to view and process the RAW images in Bridge? Will I need a plug in? If so, where can I download?

I am wondering if I am still going to be able to view and process the RAW images in Bridge?
    No, according to this overview:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
the earliest support for Nikon D4 is ACR 6.7, the latest and last update of the Camera raw plug in that came with PSCS5
Will I need a plug in? If so, where can I download?
You can use the DNG route, meaning downloading the free DNG converter from Adobe and those DNG files will be viewable in CS3 and you can work with them.
    Windows: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows
    Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?platform=Macintosh&product=106
While it is none of my business I just wonder why you buy a 5K $ state of the art top dSLR from 2012 and still use an 'old' piece of software released in 2007 to try and get the most out of it.
And sadly enough CS3 Bridge is known to be the worst version ever, you sure will benefit from at least CS5 but CS6 offers the new 2012 Process in ACR.

  • Full Screen viewing of images in Bridge CS3

I have Bridge CS3 on my macbook pro that I generally use when I'm on the road.  Up until last week, I would use the space bar to view images in full screen mode.  Now, mysteriously, pressing the space bar does nothing and I can't for the life of me figure out how to view images at full screen (without resorting to starting a slideshow playback).
Has anyone else experienced this before?  Can you offer any help?
    Thanks!

    Can you offer any help?
First thing to try when sudden odd behavior starts is resetting the preferences. Hold down option (alt) key while restarting Bridge, from the pop up window choose reset preferences and try again.
Be aware that Bridge CS3 was the version with the most problems, maybe you have already a newer version? if so you may install and use this on two machines. Otherwise consider an upgrade, you will surely benefit from that

  • Viewing images via Bridge CS3

I usually adjust images in Aperture but have just begun to use the Raw converter within CS3 for a few files. I can export master files onto my desktop and dbl click to open the NEF file, however, this seems very clumsy. I know you can access the RAW images via Bridge CS3 but when I try to access all I get is the aperture library white icon (looks like a fridge?!) but when I ask to display contents it seems to be locked - my aperture library is situated in Pictures - but this still does not allow access - anyone know - thanks to anyone who does !

thank you - yes, I agree I would prefer to not bother with Bridge, but when I "Open With" which I had defaulted to PSCS3, this opens fine, but the master file opens in tif or psd depending on what I need, and then of course the ACR dosn't open- I think I may be thrown a bit here by your comment on "referenced" master files - but however, at least I do follow you clearly on the tif/jpeg import concerning reflection of changes - really appreciate your time!

  • Viewing Cannon Raw images in Bridge

I normally shoot with my Nikon D3, But I recently borrowed a Canon. When viewing my Nikon Raw images in Bridge, I am able to see the Images. But when I try to view the Canon Raw Images, all I see are Icons. Is there a setting that allows me to see the Cannon Raw Images?
    I am using Windows 2000.

You did not include enough info to comment.
What version of Bridge, and what model of Cannon camera?

  • Viewing raw images

I have photoshop elements nine and have had no problem viewing raw images when i use my compact flash, but i recently purchased a camera that uses sd cards and when i load them i can't see the images only a white sheet with a turned down corner. I need to figure out how to view these images in bridge as well.

I don't think card is doing anything here. Which camera is this? Every version supports a limited number of raw files and new cameras are supported by latest Adobe Camera Raw. Check out following to know more - http://bit.ly/IUMGIc
Latest ACR version available for PSE9 is 6.5

  • Opening RAW files with Bridge CS3

When I try to open a RAW file from Bridge CS3 it defaults to Mac Preview and does not open Photoshop Elements 6 RAW converter.  If I open a RAW file outside of Bridge it work fine.  What did I do wrong??   Using a iBook G4 with OS 10.5.8 and Photoshop Elements 6 and new Camera RAW plugin for my Panasonic LX3 camera.  hjz62

Bridge requires the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw to be installed.  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4581 Adobe states that this is the latest version of camera raw compatible with PSE-6 Mac. Others may have additional information.
As to the issue of defaulting to Apple software, this issue is usually a configuration problem wherein certain file extensions are granted permissin to be summarily opened by a given program. ((Right clicking any given file, then choosing "open with", and selecting a given program  is a work around, but to avoid this step, you need to reconfigure your program settings.)) This is the Windows file path/solution, I am not familiar with Mac. I am confident that the issus is the same

  • Help with viewing raw images in iPhoto 6

    Hi:
When viewing raw images from my camera (a Canon 20D) in a large or full screen format, after about 5 seconds I see at least a dozen tiny white dots on the image. These occur 100% of the time.
If I "retouch" the image and save it, they go away.
Also, they never appear if I shoot and import JPEGS from the same camera?
Is this a bug in iPhoto 6 and, if not, can someone explain or help me with this?
    Thank you!

I have the same camera so i checked out the raw images--sorry no spots show up.

  • Unable to rotate raw images in bridge, rotate buttons grayed out?

Unable to rotate raw images in bridge, rotate buttons grayed out?
    Bridge 5.0.2.4.

There is an ignore EXIF setting Preferences. I can't remember if that is Bridge or Photoshop, but IIRC it is for DNG files.
Right.  Check Photosho > Preferences > File handling and make sure 'Ignore EXIF tag, is not checked.  I think that might do it, so long as it refers to sidecare files, because only RAW files would have one.

  • MacBook Pro Retina "Gets Hot when viewing RAW images"

MacBook Pro Retina Gets really Hot when viewing RAW images - somebody has this issue? Solutions?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
First, download Temperature Monitor and tell us the temperatures of the MacBook > http://www.bresink.de/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html
The MacBook Pro with Retina display is made of aluminum, so it's normal that it gets hot. However, if the temperature inside is very high, fans will turn on automatically. If this doesn't happen, it may have a hardware problem

  • Display of .CRW (Raw) images in Bridge CS6

I have recently upgraded from PS CS3 direct to PS CS6. I have an issue with the display of raw images taken by my Canon PowerShot S70 camera (.CRW format). Many of the portrait-style images are displayed as landscape. This appears to be random as not all portrait images are affected. I did not have this problem with CS3. I have discussed the matter with the Adobe helpdesk which suggested various remedies (purging cache, resetting preferences) to no avail. They came to the conclusion that PS CS6 does not fully support the file structure generated by this camera in that it cannot detect from the file data that it should be displayed as a portrait image rather than as a landscape image. I have two issues with this. Firstly, if true, it means that PS CS6 has taken a slightly backward step as far as I'm concerned and secondly, it does not answer the random nature of the incorrect display.
Obviously I want these images to be displayed correctly. I can rotate them in Bridge/PS manually, but I have a lot of them scattered over many folders and it is a task I would rather be automated.
This issue also occurs in Windows 7 Home Premium, but as I was using Win 7 HP with CS3 without this display issue, it appears to be an Adobe problem as it only occurred after the upgrade to CS6.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so how have you solved it? Is there a fix for it?
    Many thanks
    Richard
    Richard Malpas

I have just checked my .CRW files and realise that the display problem is not random, all .CRW images shot in portrait mode are displayed as landscape. This appears to be an Adobe issue and means that the helpdesk was right - PS CS6 does not fully support this type of Raw file.

  • RAw images in Bridge not showing up.

Hey All, I am a little confused.  I am on an old IMAC 10.6.8  I downloaded PS CS3  and put the Camera Raw plugin in.  I can finally view raw files in photoshop but it is not working in Bridge. Can someone help me?

This is a copy of the answer I send in via mail, it seems the new forum format is again a disaster and not able to put mail content in the forum but only a reply window without text...
This is very little info to go for. You have an 'old' (sorry but CS3 is from 2007…) set up and it should use Bridge version 2. Also Bridge that came with CS3 is sadly enough known for being the worst and most problematic version for Bridge. You can look up what the maximum version of ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) is that you can install with CS3:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
and also check what raw files can be processed with this older versions. Cameras from 2008 and later are not likely to be supported in your version, for this you can use the free Adobe DNG converter.

  • No Camera Raw Support in Bridge CS3

    Hi Folks,
my special Situation is that i first bougth CS3 Web Standard and now months later i installed the additional update for photoshop c3. My old cs2 standard is still installed.
but now, when i use the bridge, i miss all menu entries - supporting camera raw. e.g. for opening JPGs in camera raw. my raw-files will work with camera raw, cause i checked that box in photoshop preferences. there is another checkbox for jpgs, but i didn't want to open JPGs always in Camera RAW.
    What to do?

This is a user-to-user forum. If you would like to notify Adobe of the problem you are having, use the information on the following page to contact them:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/
Most of the key factors about this issue have been noted, but I will summarize and add as I am able.
    - I am assuming that everyone here is talking about CS3 Bridge, and so the following information has been tailored to the current version.
    - In my experience, to have Camera Raw features in Bridge, you must have installed Photoshop, a Creative Suite, or After Effects; installing Bridge with any other program will not include this feature.
    - The Camera Raw plug-in (Camera Raw.8bi) should be installed to the common files directory (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats), and all other instances of the plug-in should be removed. Also note that having any other files in this common files directory, including an .EXE file or a .DLL, can prevent the plug-in from loading.
    - Verify that Bridge is up-to-date with version 2.1.1.9. In addition to this update, Bridge requires that you have installed the Version Cue 3.1.0 Client update and the Asset Services 3.1.0 update for it to run correctly. All of these updates can be obtained through Adobe Updater (Help->Updates in Photoshop) or on the following page:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/updates
    - Check that you are running the latest version of Camera Raw. At the time of this writing, it was 4.4.1.
    - If you can access it, and you are having problems opening TIFF or JPEG images in Camera Raw, open the Camera Raw preferences (under the Edit menu). Make sure the two options on the bottom are checked ("Always open JPEGs..." and "Always open TIFFs...").
    - Try enabling the following options in the Bridge preferences and then restart the application before trying again:
    Click Edit--Preferences...
Under the General section, check the "Double-Click Edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge" option.
Under the Thumbnails section, check the "Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for JPEG and TIFF Files" option.
    - Try resetting the Bridge preferences and cache to see if that resolves the issue. To do this, hold down CTRL when you launch Bridge, check all three options in the Reset Settings dialog, then click OK.
    - Try Steps 3, 4, and 11 in the following document:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=317912
    - Create a new user account on the computer, log out of your current one, log into the new one, and then see if the Camera Raw items in Bridge function correctly there. If you are in an office environment, create a local account that does not log onto the network domain. (You may have to contact your IT department to have rights to create local accounts.)
If you current user account in Windows is a "standard" or "limited" then compare to how it works in an administrator account. If it does not function in an existing admin account, create a new admin account and try it.
I hope this was of some assistance.
