Visa open and close with "for loops"
Hello everyone
In my program I used two "for loops" which include visa write and read for a RS32 port. it is not possible to close a devise with visa close as the out put is changed to 2D array!!! would you please help me with this error

Right-click on the output tunnel and uncheck "Use Default if Unwired". You will now be forced to wire the VISA Resource through each case.

Visa Open and Close on every iteration of loop
I have noticed that when you open the front panel of the Instrument I/O Assistant, the diagram starts with a visa session open, sets timeout property, writes, reads, parses data and ends with a visa session closed. If I were to place this into a while loop the visa session would open and close on each iteration of the loop.
Is it common practice to open and close the visa session on each iteration?No you would not want to open and close that often. If you want to use the Instrument I/O assistant what I would do is configure it the way you want and then save it under another name so you can open the block diagram. Pull the VISA open and close outside of your loop.

Trackpad playing up and windows open and close with out me doing any thing
Hey since updating to OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5
my Mac has been playing up. I can't really control the mouse anymore
it basically goes where it wants to go. Also my Mac started to open and close Windows on its one,
switching back and forth between sides, as well as opening mission control and other things.
It is impossible for me to use my Mac at the moment :

I am assuming that you are asking about the factory calendars which are assigned while difing the plant.
Factory calendars are created through transaction "SCAL".
Opening and closing of MM periods can be done through transaction MMPV.This is based on the company code.Before using MMPV ,you can look the last opened period in the transaction MMRV.

How do I control a servo-valve to open and close with Dasylab?
I am currently using a servo-valve to run an endurance test and would like to control it to open a close at a set frequency rate and set pressure rate (6000psi). Is there a controller that I can use to do that? I am using Dasylab with a NI Daq board and I get the pressure and flow readings from the analog to digital signals correctly but to actually control a servo which is powered with and external power supply to provide 25VDC.
It would be unwise to use DASYLAb to close a loop on a servovalve.
The best way to do that would be to buy a analog PID controller board, MOOG and Parker sells those, and use an anaqlog output from the NI card to controll it.
We did many tests using this way.
There are also other option like servo-controllers that could perform many tasks, like FG, conditioning, limits, and profiles and then use DASYLAb for Data acquisition.
The price for this solution would be of course higher.

Finder repeatedly opens and closes in my PowerBook G4
I have been wrestling with this problem for some time. Finder repeatedly opens and closes in my PowerBook G4. When I log in to my Administrator Account, the Finder will repeatedly open and close with a rainbow spinner till the whole system freezes. I have reinstalled the OS and the problem returned. Now, I need to get my files on that account backed up and start over again. The trouble is that I can't access the files because the Finder isn't accessible. I've created a 2nd account, and am in the process of trying to copy the files I need to the new profile, but so far those files are barred. My main concern is why is this happening, and will it happen again if I reinstall? What's the best way to reinstall and start over?
If the second account is an admin one and since the issue is specific to your original user account, you can proceed in two ways. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account, move everything on that other account's list from the original account's Preferences folder into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue. -

I think that it is better if I open communication with my instrument out of while loop so I many operation: if I put Open VISA in While loop I open VISA session every loop, instead I think it is not intelligent. Can I open VISA SESSION out of the while loop or it is an error for EXCELLENT LABVIEW VI and I must open and close VISA SESSION every times I must talk (and set) with instrument? What is the better way?

I do have to say, i don't know what is happening in the false case of yours, but if nothing happens with the 100 that is wired to the shift register, once you enter the true case, the value in the shift register will always be great than "i". You might as well do what I have done then. However, if something does happen with that number in your false case, then keep it the way you have it.
That being said, why is the condition there to see if it has looped 100 times before doing the visa write??

Do you have a lot of apps? Did you use a lot of apps recently? If so, many of them may still be resident in memory even if you aren't currently using them. Double-tap the home key and you should see the app tray with a list of most recently used programs. Press and hold the icons in the tray and remove the ones you don't use often to remove them from memory. Powering off and then back on might also help.
My wife's iPod does that sometimes, and it's usually because we run out of memory due to apps remaining in memory even when not used. The suggestion above is how we normally fix the problems. -
How do I open and close VIs from within a VI?
Ladies and gentlemen,
I would like to use a VI to open and close other VIs based on user input. Example: The first VI will have text that reads: "Does the car have heated mirrors?" There will be two buttons: one for "YES" and the other for "NO."
If the user hits the "NO" button, the current VI will close and a similar VI will open that asks the user the next question, "Are the mirrors lighted?" "YES" or "NO..."
If the user hits the "YES" button, the current VI will close and another will open that will tell the user to "Activate the heated mirrors" and press a button that will say "NEXT." At that point, that VI will close, and in two minutes another VI will open and ask the user "Is the driver's side mirror hot?" with another set of "Yes" or "No" buttons. If the user presses "YES" we will have verified that the heated driver's side mirror is working properly and store that information somewhere . If the user presses "NO", the VI will close and another VI will open with some kind of repair instruction and a button that says "RETEST" that will rerun the heated mirror test when repairs are completed.
During the two minutes we are waiting for the mirrors to heat up the program should move on to the next question: "Are the mirrors lighted?" "YES" or "NO..."
Does anyone know how to manipulate VIs in this way? Please help!
DrewInstead of opening and closing vi's, just create one main vi with a state machine architecture. Search for examples on state machines to get a basic understanding of them. This is pretty complex so I have written an example of how this could be accomplished. The trick part was the 2 minute timer (my vi is set for 5 seconds for quick testing). Each state produces a question, and depending on the answer, the next state is inserted into a queue. You can add more states for more questions and answers. Notice that the boolean buttons can be hidden if you just want to show one button (like Next) instead of two buttons (Yes and No). Study the vi and let me know if you have questions.
