Vista 64bit t and itunes 7.5

I just installed Itunes 7.5 on my windows vista 64bit machine. The software loaded fine but the cd burning function doesn't work. Anyone have a solution to this problem? I know that Itunes 7.5 is not a vista 64 bit piece of software. Notwithstanding this fact, it is working fine except for the cd burning function.

  • Windows Vista, Ipod Connectivity and Itunes 7.1

    Hi,
I was going to buy windows vista but my friend informed my that Windows vista and itures creates some connectivy problems with the ipod.
I was just wondering if this is/was true ?
If it is/was true, has then recently new I-tunes 7.1 update fixed that problem, or should i wait for the next update before buying vista ?
    many thanks

I have a new Dell with Vista pre-installed & the ONLY thing not working properly is my iPod. iTunes 7.1 works fine. My songs are there, I can play & download without issue. And I really like the iTunes gadget on the sidebar (although it's certainly a live-without item that's not needed). However, I am currently unable to sync my iPod. It hasn't been able to sync since I got the new system. I have run every diagnostic possible & it still won't sync. I am tempted to restore & see if that will help but frankly I am unwilling to lose the 5000 songs that're already on it without being sure that it will take them back. So... I'm at an impasse. However, the rest of my software all works faster, cleaner- a great improvement over my old system although I understand that I am the exception not the rule. I happen to like my Vista a lot, other than that ONE bug which I'm sure will be fixed soon.

  • Windows Vista Movie Maker and Itunes Music

I am asking for help and apologize if I am in the wrong area - we just purchased a computer and I need some help - we have an HP that came w/ Windows Vista. I am trying to make a movie on Windows Movie Maker and tried to import a song from Itunes that I purchased and it keeps coming up w/ an error about my system not having the codec. I have no idea what this means and need to know if I am doing something wrong. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated-I am trying to make a movie w/ my all my daughters pictures-she will be 1 this month-I know TMI, sorry. Thank you again

Well, there are two problems probably:
    1. I'm not sure if Windows Movie Maker can use AAC format files, and all of the files you download through iTunes are in AAC format.
    2. Even if Windows Movie Maker can use AAC format files (which I doubt it can), the AAC files through iTunes are DRM-encoded, which means they have copywrite protection which prevents their use outside of a specific set of iPods/iTunes.
If you want to use that particular song in your movie, it would be best to either find a source that is not copy-protected to download it from (notice I didn't suggest downloading it illegally ;>), or ... you can buy a CD with that song on it, and then rip it to MP3 to import into Windows Movie Maker.

  • Vista 64 bit and itunes problem

I have been using itunes for a long time but since i installed it in my new vaio laptop with 64 bit vista i am having problems like there are multiple iT.temp files. there was a time when i had about 1800 such files which consumes a lot of space so i have to manually delete them except the last 3 or 4 files. same is the case with temp files. then again some times when i close itunes the itunes library file goes missing which leaves my itunes library washed out when i open itunes next time, so every time i close itunes i have to save a copy of the library file and before opening itunes i have to copy it to the itunes folder.

    Welcome to AD!
It's some Sony bloatware doing it. Kind of a root-kit attack on iTunes, if you will.

  • HT1364 I followed this tutorial and iTunes moved my music to the specified directory on another drive, but now it doesn't show up in library. Files are all there.

I'm using Vista 32 bit and itunes 9. Don't want to upgrade to latest version.
I made the transfer with the help of itunes, but now the music while in the new directory itunes doesn't recognise it.
    Any guesses?
    Thanks

    Solved my own problem.
Actually, I just selected all and dragged into Itunes. Didn't work at first, butsince then has worked great. I have transferred approx 58Gb. of music. I also searched through 5 other HDD's and have just put all of my music on all itunes.
I then purchased the software "tuneup media". It is currently de-dupe'ing and fixing all the mis-labeled songs.
This is the problem with newsgroups. People name stuff whatever they want. Hope this helped you.

  • ITunes 1.6 and Windows Vista 64bit Help

I have not been able to use iTunes properly since I got a new computer with Vista 64bit. I can play music, browse iTunes Store and watch Video, but the problem comes when I try to attach my iPod Touch or try burning a CD. With the last version, it seemed that 64bit windows Vista was not supported so I just decided to wait for an upgrade. I download iTunes 1.6 from Apple.com and try to install and it says I need the 64bit iTunes Installer. Did I miss the download for it?
This is the error message I get...
This iTunes Installer is intended for 32-bit versions of Windows. It is Highly recommended that you download and install the 64-bit iTunes Installer instead.
All I need is a Link to the 64-bit Installer because I cant find it.

What's supposed to happen is that when you go to the download page, http://www.apple.com/itunes/download, it's supposed to recognize that you're running 64 bit Vista and then you get the 64 bit iTunes installer. But I've seen reports that FireFox users are only getting the 32 bit installer page.
Can you try that link with IE? And do you get a different installer then?

  • Vista 64bit and iTunes 8.2.0.23 - interface problems

I've had these strange iTunes interface issues ever since I moved to Vista 64bit a while ago.
I can't adjust the volume using the volume slider at the top of the iTunes window (to the right of the Play buttons) The volume slider won't respond to my mouse.
I can't scroll the library window using the scroll bar on the right side of the iTunes window. I have to either scroll with my mouse wheel or click the arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar.
I also can't resize the library columns. They are either very narrow, or if I double click the column edge they will auto resize, then I am stuck with them set at the widest item in the list.
I recently uninstalled iTunes, QuickTime, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Devices and the Apple Updater. I then searched my Hard Drive and Registry for anything left over from Apple or iTunes and deleted it.
I then downloaded and installed the latest iTunes, hoping that these issues would be resolved, but I am still having the same issues with the latest version.
    Any ideas would be welcome.
I just realized I have another issue. I can't import my playlists from Windows Media Player either. I've added my Music folder to the iTunes playlist (the same one that Windows Media Player users) and went to File -> Library -> Import Play list -> chose my WMP playlist (a .wpl file) -> clicked Open and nothing happens.
    Message was edited by: Apr2009

Ok, so I saved my Windows Media Player playlist as M3U files and imported them into iTunes. Wow! What a complete mess that made of my library.
All songs that were on the playlists (hundreds of songs) were duplicated in my iTunes library. iTunes would show two entries for each song. When I right clicked and choose 'Show in Windows Explorer' both entries point to the same song, it just shows up twice in iTunes.
I cleared my iTunes library file and am starting over. I'm thinking about just going back to Windows Media Player. I've been listening to music off my Blackberry and it's really been fine. Just seemed a shame that my iPod was sitting in a drawer because of all the issues I'm having with iTunes and Vista.
The original problem I had months ago was that iTunes crashed on Vista and lost all my Playlists. I was so upset I put all my music on my SD card on my Blackberry, because Windows Media Player makes it so easy to back up your playlists. They are saved as files and can be included in any automatic backups (I have scheduled backups to another hard drive)
I thought with this new version of iTunes I could at least export the playlists to files so they can be backed up, I just don't know if I can face re-creating the playlists in iTunes.

  • 64bit Vista and iTunes/iPhone

My new PC has Vista 64bit on it. I installed the 64bit iTunes and it seemed to install correctly but it doesn't recognize the iPhone. My iPod connects fine but the iPhone doesn't. I was on the phone with Apple tech support about an hour and finally they said it was a Microsoft issue and not theirs. Has anyone else had this problem? I really think it has something to do with the iTunes 64bit driver.

Just got my 3Gs in the mail and I am having the same problem.

  • Audible, iTunes and Vista 64bit

Hi everyone, I'm moving to a new computer tomorrow that has Vista 64bit on it. I know that iTunes is now compatible, but I have a lot of audiobooks from Audible and to listen to them I know I'll have to authorise my new computer. I've had a look through the help pages on audible's site and it says that there is a problem with iTunes that stops you from authorising your computer on a 64 bit vista machine: http://audible-uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/aid/3666/kw/vista%2064/rid/166
The thing is, some of the info on audible's website can be quite old so I'm not sure if this problem has been addressed yet or not. Has anyone managed to authorise a 64bit vista system for audible content? If not, can anyone think of any work arounds? (other than keeping the old computer around until the problem is fixed!)
    Cheers
    Nicola

I had Vista 64 and now Windows 7 64 and no issues--and there is a 64 bit version of iTunes too. All works well.

  • Windows Vista 64bit and Zen, Video Convertsion

We just updated out computer to one with Windows Vista 64bit.
Everything was fine until we tried to convert a .mov file to place it on the Zen. First it said we needed Quicktime ver 7 (which apparently the original video was created with). Tried to install that, to no avail. Turns out Quicktime 7 is not supported under Vista 64bit, according to Apple.
I then found on another message board of people having trouble running iTunes on Vista 64. Use the following link:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can then select the 64bit version of iTunes.
After the install the video conversion worked perfectly.
    Hope this helps others.
    Thanks

Can I run 64bit Vista in Bootcamp?
Yes. Both the computer and OS X are fully 64-bit compliant.
You can install a second video card that does not work with OS X but does work with Windows. Third-party video cards do not work with OS X because they do not have the EFI boot ROM required by OS X. They will, however, work when you boot into Windows. You do not need to convert the Mac Pro to a Windows-only machine which would seem a waste of perfectly good hardware and software.
You can install any SATA hard drive in the Mac Pro. There is no limitation with regard to size. Cache, however, is a feature of the drive and not the computer. Apple does not "qualify" drives for use with the computer.
These questions have been discussed in the Mac Prp fourms so I suggest you search the forums for other discussions of the topics.

  • I have the 64bit version of itunes. When I connect my iphone5 it says that I don't have the correct software and that I need to install itunes 64bit! And I can go no further! Help!

I have the 64bit version of itunes on windows 7. When I connect my iphone5 it says that I don't have the correct software and that I need to install itunes 64bit! And I can go no further! I've uninstalled and reinstalled but it makes no difference. I have no access to other computers so at the moment I don't have a backup for my iphone should anything go wrong.
    Please Help!

    Hello ekbowers,
It sounds like you have installed the 64 bit version of iTunes, but you continue to the get an error message that suggests to download the 64 bit version any time you connect your iPhone 5.  I understand that you have already uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, but sometimes you may need to uninstall additional components related to iTunes to completely remove it from your system.
I recommend following the steps in this article to completely uninstall iTunes:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Once you have completely uninstalled iTunes, you can download the 65 bit version of iTunes for Windows here:
    iTunes 11.0.4 for Windows 64
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1615
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • ITunes quit working on my vista 64bit based os

so i upgraded to vista and itunes worked for a short time then stopped working. i've uninstalled and re-installed it several times but can't seem to get it to work... i've even reformatted the computer and upgraded to a 64bit system but itunes only worked for a couple weeks. also, how do i get my previous library back including eveything i've previously purchasd from the itunes store?

    many thanks.
The text of the error message is, "iTunesSetup_exe(1) couldn't be downloaded".
Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
If you can't get a working installer via the standard download links, try the following download links instead:
    iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
    iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe

  • IPhone + iTunes + Vista 64bit

Is the iPhone/iTunes not compatable with Windows Vista 64bit edition? Everytime I connect my Phone to my PC I get this message:
The software required for iPhone is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install iTunes atleast 4 times.. Doesn't fix it.

My Desktop PC, My Laptop and my Wife's Laptop all run Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. So I don't have a 32bit computer.
Also on the box it doesn't say that 64 bit isn't supported. Also on the apple.com website I only found one place it says 64 bit wasn't supported and you have to dig for it..
Also when I bought my iPhones I bought them from a AT&T Store and at the store I bought at they got them from the back and immediately scanned it then put it in a bag and sealed the bag shut and told you you couldn't open it until your off their property.. So even if it was on the box which its not I couldn't have known until I got home from the store....
So I have 2 iPhones which I was able to get activated when I went to Washington State to visit my family I just hooked up to my Dad's computer and activated but at home in Virginia I can't sync contacts, emails, or upload my music, etc...

  • Ipod touch and itunes not working with vista?

I bought a 32gb ipod touch(2nd gen) today and so far it's been nothing but a massive headache for hours. I've had an ipod video(30gb) for three years now and it's always been perfect, hasn't give me an ounce of trouble.
I get home, checked that I had the current itunes version, and then plugged in my ipod touch. I immediately got an itunes error saying that the apple mobile support device was out of date, and I had to re-install itunes. I did that but it still didn't work, it wouldn't recognize my ipod touch. I deleted all my itunes and apple folders and restarted(and uninstalled). Now my ipod still won't recognize when i plug it in on my desktop, it gives me an intunes error saying something like " your ipod touch cannot work because you dont have the 64bit version blah blah ". Which is ridiculous because I'm on windows vista 64bit, and the version of itunes I got was the 64 bit, i checked it three times and even re-downloaded/installed it.
I tried my second desktop which is on windows XP and it wouldn't recognize my ipod touch either. Then finally I took out my laptop which is windows XP, and plugged in my ipod touch. My ipod touch works fine on my laptop, but not on my other two desktops.
I need for it to work on my main desktop(the one with vista) because it has all my music.
So any ideas as to why this is happening? and how to fix it.

    Hi,
What is the name of the iTunes installer file you used? Try downloading and installing the iTunes again from the iTunes64Setup.exe file located here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/iTunes8_1_1_for_Windows__64_bit
If the issue persists, verify the usbaapl64.sys driver is being used by following the steps under *Verify iPhone Driver/Service Installation* in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1495
If the issue is not resolved after installing iTunes from the iTunes64Setup.exe file and the correct driver is being used, reconfigure or disable the security software on the PC and reinstall iTunes.
