Vista compatible driv

I know I am going to sound really ungrateful and come across as being petty, but there is one thing which really gets my back up with manufacturers and developers. Why it is always seem to take so long when it comes to developing drivers for a new OS... I mean Windows Vista is in the final stages and due for release in the next 8 days or so and we have only just been given yet another set of BETA drivers from Creative Labs, when Vista has been available for the best part of a couple of months now to developers, Beta Testers, MSDN Subscribers... and we have only just been given yet again new BETA drivers and no other software has been released for applications which come with the Sound Blaster cards.
I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, 24-bit Advanced HD, and although the drivers work ok with the sound card, I only just noticed, which my fault is entirely, these drivers are not compatible with the Sound Blaster Li've 24-bit Audigy. So are we going to see drivers available for this card before Vista is launched, or are you going to force people into buying new sound cards? Although this card would be considered old now, even though I only purchased it two and a half years ago, and at the time it cost me brand new ?79.00. The money side of this I am not worried about because I can go out and buy a new one, the point I am making and this would be for all customers of hardware, why are manufactures of hardware and developers of software, always seem to sit on their hands and wait until the last minute to release compatible new drivers for their customers.

The 2. drivers released Oct 0th work in 64bit on RC2.

  • Says no compatible driver when trying to burn, device mgr. lists one

Trying to burn a CD/DVD using a couple different programs I have; after dragging file to the appropriate place, then pressing burn, I get message - no compatible driver.  When I checked the device manager, it shows the  HP DVD RW AD7561S ATA device.  I tried both DVD RW and CD-R discs. I've tried to burn off and on for the last several years (not a heavy user) with the same result..  Could it be something wrong with the disc tray or the driver itself?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  My notebook is the HPG71  /  G71-3406S.

    Hi,
First, try the automated fixit from Microsoft on the link below.
    Windows 7
    Vista
Check if the drive is now working.
If it still doesn't work, click the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
Next, click the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager.  Next click to open DVD/CD-ROM Drives.  Right click the drive and select uninstall.  Do not delete drivers if asked.  When the device has uninstalled click on the 'Scan for Hardware Changes' icon ( usually just below Help on the toolbar ).  Let windows reinstall the drive and see if it now works.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Notebook - Will this be Vista compatible?

Hi all, just popping in to ask a quick question. This is not a flame, nor is it meant to be anything other then a sincere question. Will the Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Notebook PCMCIA sound card be Vista compatible at some point? No need to tell me the date it's due or anything like that. Just wondering if, when Creative Labs releases their final Vista drivers, the ZS notebook sound card will be included in the list of supported cards.
    Thanks.

It isn't a driver problem, but your system/configuration! Make sure you have enabled the "CMSS" option in the CMSS-3D tab, if you have 7.1 speakers. Also make sure, you select 7.1 speakers in both AudioConsole and the Windows Sound/Multimedia properties. Microsoft does not allow for these changes to be made by an external program (like in Windows XP). You can also use Windows' built-in mixer to check the individual volumes of each speaker, like you did with Surround Mixer in XP.

  • How do I get Vista to go back to the Windows' Vista generic driver after an Extigy upgrade fiasco

Hello all. First, I'm glad to have the opportunity to be a part of this group. I didn't know it even existed, but here I am...so, let me know what you think.
I am a new Windows Vista Ultimate OS owner, and thus far, I'm absolutely thrilled with the advances in video render and compression speeds. However, one of the auto-update features tried to update my Extigy driver, the one that apparently loaded with the original install of Windows Vista, and the update didn't work...go figure. So, now there is no way to use the system restore as it doesn't recognize that there was a change, and I can't get the Extigy to make a peep.
How do I go bakc to the Windows Vista generic driver so I can listem to my voice overs agan? Thanks so much folks... Michael

  • Labview 6 compatible driver for HP89410A Vector Analyzer

Does anyone know where I can get a labview 6 compatible driver for an HP89410A Vectory Analyzer?
I have found labview 7 and labview 8 drivers for the hp894xx family of devices, however I cannot use them as I only have labview 6.
Barring a prewritten driver, how hard would it be to convert a labview 7 driver to make it compatible with labview 6?

The conversion is easy since there is a VI Tree VI in the driver. Since the driver was originally written in 1999 and has been up-converted to 7.0 and 8.0, saving it back down to 6.0 shouldn't be an issue.

    Using Windows 7 x64 on a Thinkpad T500.

Hi M(ike) and welcome to the RH community. You may want to
    check out
    this
link posted by John Daigle after he attended the sneek peep at
the next version of RH earlier this year. It will support vista.
What no one on these forums can answer is when the next version
will be available. I guess even within Adobe this is a closely
guarded secret for commercial reasons. I think you'll just have to
keep your ear close to the ground.

  • For a Compaq IJ300 printer I need a 64-bit, Windows-8.1-compatible driver.

Hello. I think I may have adapted my Compaq IJ300 printer for potential use with my new, presently 64-bit, Windows-8.1-operating-system-loaded notebook computer, which has four Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports, but no parallel ports, by purchasing a parallel-to-USB cable to connect between that printer and my new notebook computer.
My short question: How may I obtain just a 64-bit, Windows-8.1-compatible driver for the Compaq IJ300 printer? (not a computer program to scan for needed driver updates, a procedure which has unfortunately failed to lead me to the driver I want in so far at least two instances)

Thanks, Ban Hien, for kindly taking some time to post some information here. I verified that via http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&products=217385 no drivers for the Compaq IJ300 printer newer than for Windows 98 were supplied there. Nevertheless I used that printer in Windows XP Home Edition in an older notebook computer in probably the year 2013 before I no longer could “power up” that computer! Looking at my notes from July 19, 2010, after connecting that printer to my old notebook computer Windows XP reported “Found New Hardware Lexmark Inkjet 4100,” probably for finding the Lexmark 12A1980 color cartridge in the Compaq IJ300 printer at that time, and “Found New Hardware Compaq Inkjet IJ300” for I suppose locating a driver from within Windows XP Home Edition for the Compaq IJ300 printer.
The Web page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293360 indeed shows that the Compaq IJ300 printer is supported by Windows XP. I read that it is on a Windows XP operating system Compact Disc or else can be obtained from http://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=133838&si=bb941f1db37cb35ad6ad9b8e7da36bd8. The resource http://www.driverguide.com/ appears to be a place on the Internet through which one may be able to obtain individual drivers for pieces of hardware. Within that Web site I read that one user found that a Lexmark Z11 driver could used with a Compaq IJ300 printer in probably Windows 2000 with Windows 2000 identifying that Compaq IJ300 printer as a Lexmark Z11 printer. Unfortunately I could not find a 64-bit, Windows-8.1-compatible driver for either the Compaq IJ300 or Lexmark Z11 printers within http://www.driverguide.com/ or http://www.lexmark.com/; the newest Lexmark Z11 probably driver available via the latter Web site was for only Windows 2000 and 32-bit Windows XP. The Web page http://www.hardwaredata.org/index.php?driver=109025 reports a Windows-8 driver for the Compaq IJ300 printer. But using that Web site's computer program DriverDetective.exe to scan my present notebook computer's hardware with the Compaq IJ300 printer connected to the parallel-to-USB cable, which in turn was connected to a USB port of my computer, the Compaq IJ300 printer was not “noticed” by that hardware-scanning program. A pure speculation of mine, not something I know to be a fact, is that because 64-bit, Windows 8.1 did not “notice” the Compaq IJ300 printer, that particular hardware-scanning program might have followed Windows 8.1's lead and also did not “notice” the connected, Compaq IJ300 printer. So if the information at http://www.hardwaredata.org/index.php?driver=109025 is correct, there might actually be a Windows-8 driver for the Compaq IJ300 printer that that scanning program never recommended because it did not “see” the Compaq IJ300 printer.
It seems logical that if one has the source code for a driver in use by one Windows operating system, knows the intimate details of that and a newer version of Windows, and knows how to write computer code in the computer language of the driver, then he might be able to take the source code for the driver that works in Windows XP and modify it to work for 64-bit, Windows 8.1. Then after that I suppose he might have to compile and link that source code to make the driver usable by a Windows-8.1 operating system. In a Linux operating system I have been told that the driver source code for a device can be compiled with I think the kernel source code to make a new version of the Linux kernel which includes the function of that new driver. On this adventurous subject I have here at least sometimes been writing well beyond my experience and/or knowledge. But at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff554644(v=vs.85).aspx there are instructions on how to use the Windows Driver Kit to “build” (probably to compile and link) a new driver using I think a starting version of a driver. More speculation on my part is that because Hewlett Packard has not been supplying a Windows XP driver for the Compaq IJ300 printer, perhaps someone may have used something like the Windows Driver Kit in the making of a driver usable for this printer in Windows XP.

  • Vista Compatible PC Suite for 3650 - When?

Hi, I would like to know if a Vista compatible version of the PC Suite for 3650 is in the works? And that would include ability to support the Vista native BT stack.
And one big question: Why can't we (3650 users) use the full featured PC Suite 6.82? We are stuck with a lame version of PC Suite. I hope there is still a better version coming, because v3.0 really sucks.

With the 3650 you are stuck with whatever is the latest PC Suite version for it. I don't believe there'll ever be any updates for it to support Vista.
The new PC Suite 6.* generation depends on a very different mechanism to connect to the phone than what's available on the 3650. So, the 3650 would have to change to get the necessary bits that the newer PC Suite versions expect it to have. That's not going to happen, either.
Nokia could, of course, have made the newer PC Suite also compatible with older phones, but probably decided it wasn't worth the effort, or something (like not enough money budgeted for the development for such nice-to-have things).

  • Video controller (vga compatible) driver needed

Hi there!! i've compaq presario v6106au, Windows XP, n im looking for the video controller (vga compatible) driver. plz hlp!! send d exact link plz!

    Hello,
I recently uninstalled my disk drive because I unwisely followed some online advice. My computer has had problems the last few weeks and would freeze for a few seconds, then the screen resolution and colors would change. The colors would be really garish with greys, pinks, and yellows and a window would pop up saying my "igxprd32 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality." After I restarted my computer, everything would be fine again. However, I was getting really annoyed after this happened several times in the span of a few weeks and wanted to find a solution. So I typed in that exact phrase from the window and found a forum here:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/R-and-L-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/The-igxprd32-display-driver-has-stopped-...
The third post down, someone said to uninstall my display driver, restart my computer, and then update my driver. Apparently this person said installing an older driver would get rid of the problem. Since the original asker reported success, I gave this a go. When I did so, the resolution became even worse and all the icons were all too big. The colors were normal, but I hated how everything looked. My dad told me to right click the desktop, go to properties, settings, and set the resolution higher, which i did to 1024 by 768 pixels. The screen was somewhat normal, but things looked elongated. I was okay with this, but then I found out my stand by mode no longer works. I only have two options: Restart or Turn Off.
After googling again, I found this forum:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-performance/hybernate-and-standby-not-wo...
where they said to go to my device manager and see if anything had a yellow exclamation sign. The only thing that did have the sign was my Video Controller (VGA compatible) which was under Other Devices.
I googled again, and a forum advised to go to the HP website and go to the Support & Drivers to download my driver. I typed in my product # and a huge list came up. Are these all the drivers available for download? None of them say Video Controller. Please help, I don't know what to do and the Stand by option is incredibly important for me. Here is some info about my computer
