Visual Composer 7.0 Applications Issue in Portal.

Hi All,
I am developing and Deploying VC Applications in the Production Server directly,
But after 10 or 15 days the VC and WAD applications are not working properly, the BI Queries which
We are attaching are working properly.
Now we are getting these types of Errors.
1) u201CConnecting to backend system failedu201D
2) 500 Internal Server Error
3) System connection failed
When we restart our Portal server then these VC and WAD applications are working fine.
I want to know why this is happening like this, is there any problem to deploy the applications
Directly in the Production Server, if any one of know regarding this problem then please let me know.

Hi Sriram,
Please check and test the system object and JCO Destination for BI system connection when you received the error message.
Check the default trace log file from server location/Netweaver administration /NWA for further investigation about your issue. OR login to http://<myhost>:<port>/irj/portal and change teh URL to http://<myhost>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.runtime.admin.logviewer.default and then search with the exact message.

Hello,
in our visual composer 7.2 application users should be able to use function modules to read and write DSOs.
Can anyone tell me, which authorizations we need to do this. Is the authorization object for calling RFC enough or need the persons also be authorized on the corresponding dso`s-names and RFC`s-names.

This is a feature of Webdynpro Flex runtime. You can adjust column widths at Flex runtime in 720 SP3 also.
This is not supported by Webdynpro HTML runtime.

WebDynpro ABAP application issue from Portal after ECC 6 upgrade to SP14

Hi,
We have recently upgraded the Kernel, ABAP and Java stack of ECC 6.0 system to SP14. After the upgrade most of the WebDynpro ABAP applications doesn't load and just flickers when run from Portal as a WebDynpro iView, but they run perfectly fine when accessed directly using URL. These were running fine prior to the upgrade. Can someone suggest what can be going wrong.

Hi Mukesh,
As Gajendra said, restarting the service in SICF sometimes works for us, but not always. We have also had to deactivate the entire Webdynpro node, and then reactivate it and all of the services below it.
Obviously something changed in the SP, given that we now have to do this every time we create a new WDA application.

How can I integrate Visual Composer applications with enterprise portal

Hello All,
I have a requirement to show BI reports built from webapplicaoins and Visual Composer to present on the Enterprise Portal 7.0
Can anybody suggest me the procedure to do the same.

When you create and deploy a VC application, the deployed iView/s are automatically created in the portal under the folder that you have specified (in VC Tools> Compiler options>portal deployment), or by default under Content Administration>Portal Content>Visual Composer folder.
Check this for your BI, VC and Portal requirement:

Hi experts,
I downloaded Visual Composer from SAP Servise but I have not been able to install it on my laptop due to the following issues:
It is looking for a SQL client, and an IIS server.
Can you tell me what I might be doing incorrectly?

Visual Composer is internally using IIS Server as Webserver.So IIS Server is mandatory...
Meta Data informations regarding our applications which are developed using Visual Composer are stored in the DataBase. Thats why its is asking for SQL Clien.

No access to Enterprise Services via Visual Composer

Hi,
I've configured the new landscape of EsWorkplace (HU2/800) in the Visual Administrator.
After I start the Visual Composer and log in I get the list of Enterprise services normally, but when I click on the Enteprise Service to get the Data service to model in the story board, nothing happens and I can't get the Data service.
Can anybody help in this issue?

I had used fine the EsWorkplace environment until the update of the landscape, when the system id was FU2. I used the Enterprises Services directly in Visual Composer and used in the NetWeaver Developer Studio by CAF Services too.
When SAP changed the landscape (system id HU2) I received another password for my userid.
I changed my WebService Security in the Visual Administrator and when I started the test, I see that I don't get to use the Enterprise Services directly in the Visual Composer.
The applications that I created in the Developer Studio still work fine, but When I select the button "Find Data", select the HU2 system , and select the search button the result is showed at the screen , but when I click on the Enterprise Service nothing happens, and I can't get the Service for model at the Story board.

Navigation in Visual composer

Hi,
I am very new to visual composer. i have two issues.
1. I have an RFC to execute in Visual composer, the Input form of RFC to be shown as a first view, once he click on submit, i need to navigate to another view which will show the result as an table.
I am able to execute the RFC , by showing the input form and table in the same page.but i need to navigate to the table view after submit.
I dont want to use the navigations like wizard,accordian or tab.....
2. My RFC Out put is a table and an export parameter of type Flag ('x' or ' ') , based on this export parameter i need to hide/display some of the table columns.

Hi,
1. For the first requirement you need to have two layers in your model.
In the first layer put your input form and in the second layer put your table view. Now connect these two layer, to connect click on the fist layer you will get a small green circle on the top of that layer click on the green circle and drag till there is a connection between two layers.
Once you have connected the layers you need to select the event for that connection, this event should be the submit. i.e. when ever you press submit in input form there will be a navigation to second layer.
2. For this you need to select the cofiguration for table view, in the table view select those field you need to hide based on the flag and set a condition in the display properties to hide that particular column.
before this you need to store the value of the flag in a form which is hidden.

looks like there is no course which focus on Visual Composer. Though there are some portal training courses that include the Visual Composer (e.g. <a href="ttps://service.education.sap.com/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMSZkPW1pbg==)/bc/bsp/sap/hcm_learning/trainingtype.htm?sap-params=b3R5cGU9RCZvYmppZD03MDAwNzU5MQ%3d%3d">EP120</a>) which are offered in Denmark .
But Marcel is right you will probably find a lot more material on SDN, SAP Library, Service Marketplace, and the VC Wiki. Have a look into Judy's blog <a href="/people/judy.kestecher/blog/2006/07/11/visual-composer-finding-the-documentation Composer: Finding the Documentation</a>. This will help you to get an overview of the material available.

Visual Composer is running through SAP Enterprise Portal SP8 and higher.If your user has VC role then you reach VC from http://<servername>:50100/VC.Port number may be different depending on the configuration.Check the wiki for details.

Visual Composer application not deployed in Portal

Hi Expert,
I am using NW 7.0 .I develops a application in visual composer based on function module to fetch the data from backend and publish in portal. But when i am trying to deploy the application, i am not getting the message successfully deployed or any error message. At the mean time i am not getting the application in portal also.
Can someone help me? Itu2019s very urgent.

Hi,
this seems to be a permission issue. One guess: the test-user needs execute-permissions for the BI-System object. Check if this is the case.
If not have a look in your default-trace if there is a permission-related exception.

Flex Table Add Row Issue with Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer

Your help would be kindly appreciated in resolving an 'Add Row'-issue within a Flex Table that uses Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer. The issue here is as follows :
When I use a [Local Dynamic Entry List |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=O5hrG2aMxWZ84Mu1211193041]to populate a row field, the initial row and all next rows are emptied upon 'insert row', they loose their selected values and also the entry list values ('pull-down menus') are lost. Hi,
you should be able to assign a dynamic value with global entry lists as well. If you say @myParam as dynamic value. VC will indicate in red letters, that the field @myParam is unknown. However, it will work, as long as @myParam is known in the form or table where you use the entry list.
I have never heard of the problem that entry lists are emptied after "insert"-event.

Problem during deploying bw iview from visual composer module on Portal.

Issue in populating dropdowns in Visual Composer

Hello Experts,
I am currently trying to push application development using Visual Composer 7.0. Came across certain issues which we were unable to resolve:
1) We have an RFC which gives 10 return tables. We need to fill the data from these tables into respective drop down fields in a form. Now im unable to bind the table to a drop down directly, so is there a way to do it using some operator etc. because if we try to populate each drop down field seperately as many number of RFC calls are made which slows down my application drastically.
2) Other issue is pertaining to concentric drop downs. I need to create drop down fields in my application which interdependent, for example if i select a country lets say India then in my City drop down only indian cities should appear. The RFC is providing the foriegn key relationship in the output.
Please help as these issues are causing bottleneck in application development.

Security issue in Visual composer

Dear all,
I created several queries using BEx query designer and I use those queries in a dashboard which is created by using visual composer. it is working fine until I added authorization using authorization analysis in those queries. I use Transaction code: RSECADMIN to test each query using a test account and I don't get any error from the log and the data display correctly.
However, when I run the visual composer using the test account, I am getting a popup message: Application error: "An error returned form the back-end system: Nested Exception. Failure to execute native function. Nested Exception. NO_AUTHORITY"
However, If I click on the error message OK button, the message go away and the data can still display correctly from the screen from each query so I should not have authorization issue and should not get the message since I can display all the data. How can I find out what authorization issue the dashboard (visual composer) is talking about? Thanks.

Default Value in Numeric Input Field in Visual Composer Application

Hi All,
I have developed a visual composer application which has a numeric input field for Hours.
It is mapped to a backend module.
We are using portal 7.31
The problem is that the deafult value of this input field is "0", but the rquirement is to display as "0.0"
The functionality has been tested with input values in decimals and works fine. The problem is when the screen first populates, that field should show "0.0" .

I don't know of an agreeable way around it. You could have a textual input, but then it doesn't have the numeric control behavior, plus you need to handle incorrect typing (alphanumeric notes).
