Visualizer wont stay full screen

A little help please.  My disabled son enjoys looking at the iTunes visualizer which has been fine for years.  Have just upgraded his 2006 Imac to 10.6 from 10.4.  now when i run visualizer it runs for about 10 mins then goes to screen saver.  when i click out of screen saver visualizer is then running in a window not full screen.  I am not sure what has changed.  any help very welcome.  Thanks Phil & Ben

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

  • Safari wont go full screen

Like some of the other applications on my power book my screen for safari wont go max and cover my whole screen, i have to squint to read. Clicking on the green + thing wont maximize to the fullest.

    L,
If your main problem is squinting to read, then you need to increase your font size in Safari and/or go up to the View menu and click on "make text bigger" a few times. You can als use the key combination of command and the plus sign to increase text size. This is a different issue than increasing the size of your browser window to full screen.
You can click and hold on the lower right hand corner of the browser window and drag it down and to the right as far as you want to fill the screen.
Hope this helps you avoid further eye strain.

  • Full screen videos/streams on second monitor won't stay full screen while using another window on other monitor

Whenever I open and then full screen a video or stream of any kind, I am unable to use another window of Firefox while the video/stream maintains full screen. When I click off the video/stream it reverts back to the smaller screen. Is there any way to change this?

Pretty much this feature doesn't work anymore. anytime the flash player loses focus (i click anywhere on the other monitor) the flash player exits full screen and goes back to the embeded player.

  • Bing video wont open full screen

I have a gateway computer. windows 8.1 . yesterday when I try to open my bing video full screen it try to open and does not. it also starts the video over from begining

I just want to add that I am having the exact same issue. This only happens while viewing vieos in the Bing search engine.
Here are the steps to recreate the issue:
Open IE or Chrome, it happens in either.
    Go to http://bing.com
Search Bing for the content I am looking for
    Click the videos heading
Click on a video I would like to watch
    Click the full screen button
    System:
Brand new installation of Windows 8.1. I noticed the issue on the same day of the installation so the chance of a virus, malware or any other malicious program causing the issue are next to none.
    Notes:
I only have the problem while watching videos on Bing.
Here is a video of the issue:

  • Facebook app not staying full screen after IOS 7.1 upgrade

Just started this morning... did the 7.1 upgrade last night. Not sure if I accessed FB last night after the upgrade.
What I'm seeing this morning is pretty weird... best way to describe it is: the FB app is not fully crashing... if I start it, it throws the FB screen for a milli-second, then it disappears. BUT... it still shows up as a running app, with recent posts shown in the preview window of the running apps section (FB window above FB icon). If I try to maximize it, it goes full screen for a milli-second then disappears but is still shown as a running app.
I checked the FB account info in the iPad's Settings and it was missing my FB acct info. I added the info back in but the problem continues.
I haven't checked every app on my iPad but the Chrome, Gmail, and ebay apps are all working fine. Just tried Maps, iTunes Store, and Garageband and they all start up as expected.

I've had no problems with the Facebook App. Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Hdtv as monitor wont show full screen

i just recently bought a 32" hp lcd HDTV im using an hdmi to dvi conector... the display works but when i put it into the resolution i have to use 1280x720 some of my desktop screen gets cut off, you cant resize the screen through the display preferences and ive tried everything i can think of to try and get it to fit properly. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Probably it can't be fixed. Many televisions force overscan over their inputs and only accept ATSC standard timings. Does the HP have a VGA input that it designates for making PC connections? You will be better off using that if it has such an input.

  • ITunes 10.2.2.12 crashes system with full screen visualizer

Can't seem to find a useful answer.  1 year old HP Pavillion running Win 7 (fully up to date), Core 2 Quad Q8200, 64-bit, 4Mb L2 cache, 6Gb DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce G210.  A few months back I noticed that whenever I had iTunes full screen visualizer running, after about 1/2 hour or so (time varies but seems to play for a while before crapping out) my system would freeze and become completely unresponsive, requiring a hard power-down (keyboard and mouse - dead, monitor displays "no input signal").
I do not have this issue when visualizer isn't running.  Also don't see this happening (yet) when visualizer isn't full screen.
My first round with this led me to believe there was a conflict with Windows going idle and iTunes not working with Windows to keep it active.  So I disabled my idle times completely and that seemed to resolve it.  Was able to listen to hours of playback without issue.  Now, this week, it started happening again.  Play iTunes, turn on full screen visualizer, after a short while sound will stop, screen will die, system will freeze.
Not interested in rolling back to earlier versions of iTunes.  I want iTunes to work properly.  I can't use it if it doesn't work.
Ideas on what I should be looking at/for?  Video card problem?  Temperature problem?  ???
I work in IT, but not with hardware, so this is a little outside my area.

update:  it's starting to happen much more quickly and frequently - basically all the time now.  last time was 43 secs into the first song.  I can no longer use the visualizer at all.  This is the first real problem I've had with this machine since purchasing it 1/2010.
To clarify a little:  my system doesn't go "dead" - if it means anything the indicator lights are blue whereas they're orange when inactive.  It's the UI that dies - no signal to the monitor, no sound, no mouse or keyboard input, and no way to move forward without pulling the plug and restarting. Everything seeeems to come back ok when I restart, although I did start having wireless issues yesterday (a 3yr old linksys N).  Separate issue or not, not sure.
I'm thinking it's gotta be hardware related, but i've been wrong once before.
Basic out of the box box:
    64 bit Quad-Core
    Intel G43
    NVIDIA GeForce G210
    512MB DDR2 dedicated to graphics
    PCI Express 2.0 x16
    Memory:
    6GB DDR3 1066, max 8GB

  • ITunes movie playlist full-screen on tv for only the first one

    Hi,
I am experimenting with getting what's on my MacBook Pro (15" 2ghz quad core, bought 5/11) displayed/played on my HD TV. I have tried all kinds of approaches (XBMC, Plex, Boxee (the software version), Front Row, Miro, Serviio, TV Mobli, Twonky, and who knows what else on the MBP as well as XBMC on an older Powerbook as well as using DirecTV's Media Share) but none are satisfactory. The current approach is to connect the MBP to the TV by a display port to HDMI cable.
The problem I am having is: when using iTunes to play movies on a playlist, I can get the TV to display the first movie as full-screen but when it comes to the next one, I lose full-screen. It reverts back to the original size of the video. When I play the same playlist on the MBP display, successive movies stay in full-screen. (Of the two movies i have tested, the first is an mp4; the next one is an m4v.)
Is there any way I can get movies played on an iTunes playlist to stay full-screen when displayed on the TV?
All of my movies are things I've recorded with EyeTV or otherwise captured or digitized and most are converted to QT.  Some are flash, some are Mpegs and I may have a few other formats. Nothing has DRM. I don't have any copyrighted "real" movies; they're all little things (music videos, segment from home movies, etc)  I have put together. (Features like "scraping" with Plex for example, are completely worthless/inappropriate for me and otherwise ruin what could be a good approach to dealing with all of my media.)
I would also be curious about anyone's ideas about the best way overall to display movies and pictures from the MBP onto the TV. For streaming video I will just drag a browser window over to the TV and then go full-screen. That works for me. It is important that I keep the MBP display free for the usual computer stuff. I don't want it blacked out or otherwise made useless so any suggestion has to bear that in mind. So far I can do almost all that I want but I haven't settled on the best way yet.
I am ok with having to switch the audio output on the preference pane to the TV when I do this.
I am having one other issue: Sometimes I will lose audio half-way into one of these short movies (3-4 minutes long) on my iTunes playlist. I have dragged the movie window back to the MBP display and it still has no audio. I will then restart that movie and it will play fine on the MBP. I don't know what is going on with that. I am worried that the cable may not be able to carry audio ALL the time but why would I still get no audio when I have dragged the movie window back to the MBP if the cable was at fault? Any ideas on what is going on here?
    Many thanks.

EDIT: Please disregard the previous post. I am swimming on vicodan after surgery this morning and did not realize how atrocious my sentence structure and spelling were. Yeesh.
Not sure what the problem is. Using my iPhone 3G and component cable I watched Iron Man in widescreen on my Mitsu 62" tv but when I tried to play Journey to the Center of the Earth it will only play full screen. When I play it on the iPhone it will play in widescreen. Does anyone have a clue here because I sure don't. Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • Full screen from macbook to tv - netflix

I have my macbook pro hooked up to my tv via HDMI cable. Everything works fine, except netflix wont go full screen on my tv. It will go full screen on my laptop. It will play on the tv. I just wont go full screen on the tv. Every other media type works. I even watched the Superbowl this way. Any ideas why netflix wont?

Its not the image size. The browser and search bar are still showing. It wont leave the browser and show full screen.

  • Intermittent full-screen iTunes problem

    Hi all
I've noticed that after running iTunes for a while in full screen, and opening/closing other full screen windows, switching between spaces etc, that after a while of use, it's not running in 'true' full screen.  As you can see from the picture below, after a while, switching back to the iTunes screen, you can see that there is a 'blank' space below the window, which is also the same height of my dock on the regular desktop.
Now I know that by exiting full-screen and returning to full-screen gets it back to normal, but my question is does anyone know what it is that is causing the issue in the first place?

The quality of the visualizer you get full screen is the best your going to get. The bigger your computer screen the worse the iTunes visualizer is going to look at full screen.

  • Flash player wont stay maximized while muted

Running the latest version in chrome however this happens in firefox and IE as well
When i maximised a flash video from a website like youtube/justintv and mute it, if i click onto another monitor the flash player will go back into the browser window instead of staying full screen.
This does not happen when the sound is not muted, for example i can play a video normally in full screen on monitor 1 while working on monitor 2, however not while the sound is muted
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for any help
