Voice memo playlist not on iphone

my iPhone 6 plus has voice memos that i recorded on it. they are also in iTunes under the voice memo playlist.
however, there is no voice memo playlist on my iPhone. i selected it in the syncing section in iTunes, but nothing. the voice memos are in the playlist, but nothing i do moves the playlist to my iPhone. which means i can only listen to the voice memos from the voice memos app- and that means that if i want to listen to them i cannot leave the vice memo app. if the voice memo playlist worked, then i could then i could listen to them in the music app and do other things on my iPhone.
any help?
i have osx 10.10.2 and ios 8.1.2

i cannot add the voice memos to my iPad air either. when i click on iPad in iTunes and go to the voice memos bit at the bottom in 'on my device' they are greyed out and not syncing onto my iPad air. this used to work with my older iPhones and iPads.

  • Voice Memos Playlist Not Syncing

I've tried all sorts of things, but I can't seem to get my voice memos playlist to sync to itunes.
My workaround has been to make a new smart playlist, and have it add all files that contain "iPhone" but I would rather have it work as it used to.
    Anyone else having this problem?

I found the answer, at least it worked for me.
    Here ya go:
    1) open the Voice Memos app on your iPhone
    2) on any memo: click the little blue arrow on the right
    3) Click the next arrow in the top most box this will put you in the "Label" screen
    4) From the "Label" screen: click the arrow next to "Custom"
    5) In the Custom screen: give the memo a name (click Done)
    6) Click the left arrow (top left) to go back to your memos.
You'll see that you memo as a name. I changed mine from "4:25 PM" to "Fishcakes".
    7) Sync your iPhone and you are good to go.
NOTE: If for some reason this doesn't work, go back into the same "naming" list on your Iphone voice memos app, and try one of the standard labels instead of a custom one. With one that wouldn't sync, I changed it to "Memo" and then synced it again, and then it worked.

iphone voice memos does not stay open

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • Help! I've deleted my voice memos playlist on iTunes. How do I transfer my voice memos on my iPhone to iTunes for a second time?

Help! I've deleted my voice memos playlist on iTunes. How do I transfer my voice memos on my iPhone to iTunes for a second time?

You need to have the latest version of iTunes on the computer, version 11.1.3 to be able to handle syncing a newer phone with iOS 7. The iTunes on the iPhone has nothing to do with syncing and is installed by the iOS.
Go to iTunes on the computer, click on Help, Check for updates to update iTunes on the computer, or go to to www.apple.com/itunes/download and download and install the latest version of iTunes to correct your problem.

  • Some Voice Memos do not sync from iPhone to Mac?

I recorded a number of meetings to my iPhone using the Voice Memo app. When I sync with my Mac, most of these transfer to iTunes, but a handful don't, for no reason I can see. I did not record them any differently from the ones that made it across. I tried emailing the missing memos to myself from within Voice Memo, but the email silently failed, perhaps because the files are too large (almost an hour).
I've seen other similar threads on the web - the suggestion to uncheck and re-check the "Include Voice Memos" box did not help.
    Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
(My suggestion for Apple is that iTunes and Voice Memo need a big usability upgrade.)

In the music part of your iphone in itunes, uncheck the box for syncing voice memos. Then apply changes. Check that it is all gone on your iphone. Go back to itunes and check the box for voice memos and sync. Itunes would copy the voice memos back to your iphone in the process.
that worked for me. +Don't forget to update to ios 6 latest, as apple fixed (at least improved) the bug causing wrongly sync music/voice memos not appearing.

  • Some Voice Memos do not sync, Voice Memos tab under iPhone blank

I have all my iPhone music and videos manually managed, but somehow the voice memos got synced to my iTunes automatically each time I click Sync iPhone under the album "Voice Memos" and artist name "&MyPhoneName" which is fine by me. Is that normal? How to turn it on or off?
Then I notice that some of the voice memos do not sync, and the Voice Memo tab under iPhone is blank. All the voice memos are still in my iPhone. How does that happen?

In the music part of your iphone in itunes, uncheck the box for syncing voice memos. Then apply changes. Check that it is all gone on your iphone. Go back to itunes and check the box for voice memos and sync. Itunes would copy the voice memos back to your iphone in the process.

  • Voice memos not showing up in voice memos playlist on itunes after sync

I have synced my iPod Touch many times to iTunes, and usually find the Voice Memos right in the Voice Memos playlist where they should be. I have recently had to replace my hard drive on my MacBook Pro, and reinstall using Time Machine, which means many apps have to be re-introduced to the system. But I don't see how this could affect a sync between Touch and itunes. I still have many many voice memos to upload, but do not see evidence of them anywhere. Any ideas?

I have tried every solution listed in this topic - unfortunately none of them worked I have a 46 minute voice memo of an interview which I needed to transfer to my computer. In the end, I found this software, PhoneView, which offers a free 7-day trial (no credit card needed or anything) and lets you transfer up to 10 voice memos. There doesn't seem to be a size limit because my 46min voice memo (20MB in size) transferred instantly. http://downloads.ecamm.com/PhoneView.zip
Not really a long term solution, but if, like me, you are desperate to get one big file to your Mac quickly, then this is perfect.

  • Voice memos do not delete (1 hr of recordings)!

Where I find these "undeleted" voice memos.  When I connect iPhone, itunes opens and on the top right I click iPhone. There are 10 tabs in total (Summary - Info - Apps - Tones - Music - Movies - TV Shows - Books - Photos - On This iPhone). I click On This iPhone.  On the far left side, it lists from top to bottom Music - Movies - Tones - All of my playlists.  The last one lists Voice Memo.  I click on Voice Memo.  I find 10 messages from June and July 2012, which I have deleted off of my iphone AND itunes.  I want to delete these 10 voice memos.  They are NOT on iPhone or iTunes.  I tried searching through computer, but nothing is found.
So why not delete them now? I physically can't.  I right click on the voice memo and there is no option to Copy, Paste, DELETE file.  It only gives the option of playing the music.  It is easier to see what I am saying so I am attaching a snapshot.  Notice that the voice memos are on my iphone, but not in itunes.  I looked all over itunes and there is not one voice memo.  Also, under the Music tab, include voice memos is not checked.

    try this one.

  • How can I get my voice memos off of my iPhone?

I have a new iPhone and took some pictures and recorded a few voice memos.  I would like to save these before I restore my iPhone to the back up I have on my computer.  I was able to import the photos into iPhoto, but I am not sure how to import the voice memos.  Normally, I would see them in iTunes under the Voice Memos playlist, but they are not there.  When I click on the iPhone in iTunes it gives me a choice of restoring from back up or setting up as a new iPhone.  I am worried that either of choices would get rid of the two voice memos I have on my iPhone.  Any advice?

    Hey mahongue!
I have some information here that may help you import your voice memos into iTunes. This information is written for the iPod, but the steps for saving your voice memos should be the same with your iPhone:
    Synchronize
If iPod is set to update songs automatically and you record voice memos, the voice memos are automatically downloaded to a playlist in iTunes when you connect iPod. Once downloaded, the voice memos are removed from the Voice Memos folder on your iPod. To play the voice memos that have been synchronized to your computer in iTunes, select the Voice Memos playlist on the left side of the iTunes window. To play the synchronized voice memos on the iPod, select the Voice Memos playlist in the Music menu, not the Voice Memos menu in the Extras menu.

  • Voice Memo will not export into iTunes

I am currently using an iPhone 3GS and I have a 2008 MacBook running Lion with the latest version of iTunes 10.4.1. For some reason, I cannot get voice memos to import into iTunes. I don't know if length of memos has anything to do with this or not, but it hasn't been an issue in the past. In iTunes, I choose to manually import my digital media since the storage capacity of my current iPhone is relatively small.
I work as a vocational high school counselor. I like to record meetings with students so that the have an audio record of the things that we cover for college prep. The meetings can run fairly long, which is standard, I'm hoping that the length isn't an issue. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you see a Voice Memos playlist in iTunes?
Check out page 162 of the iPhone User Guide.
iTunes syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos app until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
You can sync the iTunes Voice Memos playlist to the iPod app on iPhone using the Music pane in iTunes.
Sync the Voice Memos playlist to iPhone:
    Connect iPhone to your computer.
In iTunes, select iPhone in the Devices list.
Select Music at the top of the screen.
Select the “Include voice memos” checkbox and click Apply.

  • Voice Memo Playlist disappeared

Hi guys, I wonder if anyone could help me out. I have tried syncing my voice memos held on my iPhone 3GS to iTunes on my iMac. For some reason for Voice Memo Playlist doesn't appear in the panel on the left hand side. I don't recall deleting it.
I've tried checking and unchecking the 'Include Voice Memos' option on the iPhone syncing tab, but I'm just not seeing the voice memos coming across.
    Any thoughts?!
    Cheers!

Voice memos sync automatically. The "include voice memos" checkbox controls whether or not they are synced back to your phone from iTunes. The voice memos playlist shows in the list with your other playlists. The voice memos will also be shown in your music library. Try to reset your iPhone (Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.) Then try to sync again.

  • Problem syncing voice memos to ITunes from IPhone 4?

Recorded Voice Memos will not sync to Voice Memos in ITunes. After connecting the IPhone, I tried Transferring Purchases, then Backup, but they do not appear in the ITunes library. Have been having this issue since latest update on 25/4/2014. I tried unticking and reticking reference to Voice Memos under Music.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated

    Hi mallee fowl,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand you are trying to transfer Voice Memos to your iTunes Library. On the Summary pane in the sync settings make sure your Manually manage music and videos in not check marked and when you sync your iPhone a playlist should be created called Voice Memos in iTunes. Please use the following article for reference.

  • How can I get my voice memos back to the voice memo app on my iphone

Yeah, i just synced my iphone with my iTunes library and almost everything went smooth..  my pictures, apps, contacts, calendar, etc.  But I can not find the most important thing, the voice memos..  I had transferred them to my iTunes library the last time i synced, so i thought logically they should sync back into my voice memo app. Its important because they were lectures (im in college)!  And I planned to keep in order until the end of the semester until i had to restore it and back it up (because i went to get a new iphone)..
But now, i open the voice memo app, and its blank, there's not one memo..  And i don't know how to get them back in there..  I think i could put them in my Music library, but i dont want to do that.   I like to keep them in the voice memo app, so when i have exams i can just go back and listen to them in order (without them being all over the place.)
So all I'm asking is, is there a way to get my voice memos back to the voice memo app?  I have the latest version of iTunes (11.0.1.12) and an iPhone 4 with the latest iOs (6.0.1) and note i have a PC (Windows 7)..    I hate how iTunes totally changed their layout, it makes it harder.  That's why i couldn't follow older discussions on here, because the update made the layout so different..  Anyway, if you know what i should do, i would be very grateful.  Thanks.
