Wacom PTK-540WL Cursor Won't Move to 2nd Monitor in PS CS5

I just installed a Wacom PTK-540WL on my Win/Vista machine. I have dual monitors. In PS CS5 the pen moves the cursor around fine on the primary monitor. However, I can't get the cursor to move to the second monitor. I can move the cursor to the second monitor fine in any other application. Any ideas on why PS CS5 would react this way? Thanks!

Open the Wacom Applet in the control panel and look at how the tablet is mapped.

  • I can't get my mouse to work! Changed the batteries and the monitor says it is connected, but the cursor won't move.

My mouse is supposedly connected, but the cursor won't move.  I changed the batteries.  What should I do?

Anyone that is trying to help you right now is guessing, you haven't provided any clues such as which mouse you use and which version of OS X you have installed. Without those barest of facts we're giving your WAGs.

  • IPhoto window suddenly moves to 2nd monitor

This only happens when iPhoto is open on my primary monitor which is the built in screen on my 27" iMac.  When I click on a photo the application will often partially minimize and then jump to the external monitor.
Seperate issue - after exiting full screen the application keeps running but is not on either monitor.  I looked and it is also not running on a different virtual desktop (can't recall what apple calls this).  The only way to get it back is to close iPhoto and reopen.
iPhoto does not act up with the 2nd monitor disconnected.  Other applications do not behave this way.
    Thanks!  Taylor

    hmmm...
i can move the mouse freely between the 2 monitors, going above the menubar to the ext. monitor.
just sometimes, a window won't move up (safari happens mostly; stuck at menubar...)
    any other thoughts, anyone?

  • Watch fullscreen movie on 2nd monitor & work on my MBP @ the same time?

I hooked up a 2nd monitor to my MBP (mini to VGA) and figured out how to have an extended desktop. It's a little tricky adjusting where the pointer will be (I don't totally understand it, but with trial and error and lots of persistence, I finally got it to ALMOST be set up the way I'd like).
I have a movie (.avi file) playing on the 2nd monitor and I'm able to work on my MBP, but I can't figure out how to view the movie fullscreen because when I get the 2nd monitor fullscreen, my MBP screen goes fullscreen as well (and of course the dock and any form of control disappear as my MBP screen is just dark and blank).
Does anyone know the trick to getting the setup that I want? FULLSCREEN 2nd monitor to watch .avi files while working on my MBP???
I could really use some help on this one! THANK YOU, oh knowledgeable one(s) who reply!!!

You won't be able to do it with the included QuickTime media player. But it can be done with other media players like MPlayer or VLC I am pretty sure. Haven't had this exact need myself but have seen other similar threads and recall the above being recommended. Good luck.

  • HT3904 magic mouse cursor won't move, scrolling and clicking still works.......

does anyone have a fix for this? I would jsut return the mouse, but I was given the mouse as a gift from my dad, and i don't think he still has the receipt........Any help?
The mouse will click left and right, and will scroll, the green light is also on, but the little optical lights arent......I did a PRAM reset and have also tried
using the mouse to awake the computer from sleep mode with no success (these are both fixes recommended by users on other sites)...
    thanks for your time,
    Dan

Try resetting your system's PMU. If you have a desktop this can be accomplished by unplugging the computer for at least 15 seconds, then plugging back in and waiting 5 seconds before turning on again. On MacBooks (newer ones anyway) this can be done by holding down control-shift-option and power, then releasing all at the same time.

  • Desktop icons won't move to second monitor

Happens peridocally. I keep my application bar on my second monitor, to the right of my main one. I also keep a lot of desktop folders and files on that desktop. Once and a while, I wake the machine up from sleep, with both monitors active and working, only to find that all the icons on the second monitor have disappeared from it and realigned themselve to the right edge of my main monitor.  The application bar remains on the second. The icons will not move back.
Any idea why this is happening? I think the only way to fix it is a restart unless someone knows a better way.

Did you check your Displays preferences, Arrangement?  That is where you define the relationship of the two screens and the main monitor (defined by which monitor you dragged the litte white menu bar to).
At the moment it is not clear to me why sleep would make your system forget the arraignment setting.  One way it can happen though is if a monitor disconnects (or the system thinks it disconnects).  You can reproduce te effect yourself by unplugging one of the monitor's video connections while both are on.
You said one of the monitors had disappeared so a disconnect may be indeed what is happening.  Perhaps that monitor is slowly failing (power supply, whatever).  Try running with just the problem one for a while to see what happens.

  • Mercury transmit issue - 2nd monitor won't play on 2nd monitor (!)

    Hi there
Having an issue with mercury transmit. Am attempting to get playback on my second monitor out of after effects, however all it will do once Transmit is activated is display the feed overlaid on the same screen (i.e. my 'home' screen) rather than on the second monitor.
Have tried every setting I can find, varied preferences, monitor locations, screen sizes etc but nothing seems to work. It works absolutely fine out of Premiere so it is purely an After Effects issue. It is outputting via HDMI to a Panasonic Viera monitor and am working on a new Mac Pro 3Ghz 8-Core Xeon E5 with dual AMD FirePro D700 cards.
    Any suggestions gratefully accepted!

    Thanks for the screenshot, Zen.
Given all the troubleshooting you have done, and the fact that I can not reproduce the problem, I'm at a loss for an explanation. What appears to be happening is that After Effects is using incorrect coordinates for the second monitor. Whether it is receiving incorrect coordinates from Mac OS or it is incorrectly adjusting the coordinates itself, I can't tell.
That's not to say I'm out of ideas yet.
One question is what do you have plugged into the Thunderbolt ports on the Mac Pro? I assume your primary monitor is connect to one, but what else is connected and which ports are they plugged into?
There are 6 Thunderbolt ports on the Mac Pro, but they only serve 3 Thunderbolt busses, and the HDMI shares one of the busses (ports 1 & 3 are bus 1; ports 2 & 4 are bus 2; ports 5, 6, & HDMI are bus 0). It's recommended you do not have more than one display device connected to a single bus.
So, if you have more than one display device connected to a single Thunderbolt bus, or if your primary display is on bus 0, try changing the ports the displays are plugged into.
Here's a number of other ideas and questions off the top of my head:
    - In the Preview panel, is the Full Screen option enabled?
    - In System Preferences > Display, for that monitor, what happens if you set the Resolution to Scaled and set the resolution to 1280x720, or any other value?
    - Try creating a new user account, and test After Effects under that account. Sometimes there are non-obvious preferences or settings, this is the easiest way to isolate to that.
    - Try resetting the SMC and/or NVRAM (PRAM):

  • Frozen systemr won't move, cannot shut down, what can I do?

Cursor won't move, system not responsive to keyboard commands, cannot shut down the system.

I have been getting the gray screen and lock-up on my Air. I bought the machine in November. I took it in and got it replaced for a new one - now the new one is doing the same thing. The whole situation is obviously a bit annoying. Sure, I could go and have this one replaced as well, but to what end? Just to wind up having another Air that does the same thing. Eventually my warranty will expire and I will be stuck with a machine that freezes up on us. Not to mention the glitchy way it wakes up from sleeps then goes black for a few seconds before RE-waking up occasionally.

  • Bottom of trackpad won't move the cursor

I restarted my macbook pro (purchased in Jan, 2011 brand new) after the cursor started jumping around uncontrollably. After startup the bottom of the trackpad won't move the cursor anymore but still functions as a button...any idea how i can restore movement?

Are you talking about maybe 1/8" to 1/4" on the very edge closest to you? I think that is normal.

  • I disconnected my iPad unconsciously while it was updating ios 7.0.4 and it just stuck on that screen showing apple logo and a loading bar that just won't move on what to do now ????

It's not uncommon for it to not work the first time and sometimes, you have to try it a few times. Turn off your antivirus software and your firewall while you are trying to restore the iPad. Enable them again after you restore.
If that still won't work, post back with detailed information as to what exactly does happen as you go through the process.

Do a search for it with EasyFind  (try different settings in "Operator")

  • Duplicate mouse cursor appears (but doesn't move) on second monitor

I have a Mac Pro with the ATI XT1900 video card and 2 Dell 2407WFP LCD monitors attached via DVI.
When I'm using an application, such as a web browser, and the cursor changes state (like the black arrow with spinning wheel in corner) a duplicate of this cursor state appears on my second monitor, on the left-hand side of the screen.
This cursor DOES NOT MOVE, but does animate, and will not disappear unless I move my "live" cursor over to the second monitor, which I imagine causes OS X to "refresh" the position of the cursor. It realizes the duplicate shouldn't be there and it vanishes. The second cursor seems to appear only when the primary live cursor changes state, as in the black arrow becoming a black arrow with spinning wheel in the corner, etc.
This is not a duplicate cursor due to having Displays set up to mirror one another. The second cursor doesn't move.
This has happened in more than one software application, so it appears to be some sort of display driver error at the system level.
Anyone else experience this or have a way to fix it? There have been several Apple Updates to OS X since this problem first started happening (on day 1 with the Mac Pro) and it has not been resolved.
