Want to load OSX.4 from iBook into my G4 Powerbook

I purchased an iBook with OSX.4. I took the install disks and went to install OSX.4 onto my powerbook and an ALERT came up saying I cannot USE THE DISKS....
WHY?????
Is ther a way to OVERRIDE THE ALERT
or is OSX.4 ibook install disks only for iBook? and not usable on the Powerbook

Hi Gordon,
or is OSX.4 ibook install disks only for iBook? and not usable on the Powerbook
That is correct-- the disks shipped with machines are machine-specific.
Anyway, the software license you agreed to says it's illegal to install the OS on more than one machine. You'll have to buy a retail version of Tiger if you want to put it on your PB.

    Hi friends,
    how to load the data from informatica into bw & how to report the data
    using cognos.(i.e how to access the data in sap bw using cognos 8 BI suite).
    Thanks,

    Inorder to report BW data into Cognos you can extract data from using Open Hub to the DB table from which Cognos reads.

  • TT Issue "9994 Loading data store from disk into RAM in progress"

    Getting this strange issue. Sometimes (2-3 times a day) TT just becomes unavailable and when trying to connect to it getting "9994 Loading data store from disk into RAM in progress".
    Any advise on what the root cause for this behavior might be?

    In all likelihood this is exactly what it sounds like - your datastore is being reloaded from disk into memory. Connections can't be completed until the datastore has gone through recovery and is fully in-memory. You need to look back through your ttmesg.log files and find out why the datastore was taken out of memory in the first place. Possibly there's been a crash and it has been invalidated, meaning it needs to be recovered from the checkpoint files and transaction logs. Or maybe there were no user connections and it was taken out of memory and checkpointed to disk in a normal, controlled fashion. The ttmesg.log files will tell you what happened.

  • Can I load different songs from CD into Ipod Nano?

    Paying 99 cents for a song . . in an ipod that can hold 1000 tunes. You'll have a 1000 dollar walkman before you know it SO, I was wondering could I load the existing CDs that I already own in the Ipod Nano library?
    New mac user, former windows user,
    Adam

    Sure, just rip the tunes from your CDs into iTunes in whatever supported format you want (mp3, AAC, etc). Then just sync the Nano to iTunes and it will automatically download the song files to the Nano. Note that you have to convert your audio CD songs to a file first, then transfer it to the Nano, using iTunes. You can't just stick a CD in the drive and download directly to the Nano without using some sort of ripping and transfer software.

  • Lookout 6.2 loading buffered data from PLC into Citadel database?

    We are testing a Lookout small process application <200 I/O that is designed for continuous application. This is not a critical process, therefore we don't want to commit to duplicate Lookout Systems. However, we would like to buffer 24 words(16bit) in the PLC for 5-10 minutes so we would not loose that data when the computer running Lookout does a restart for example.
    Our problem is how do we get this data into LookOut Citadel database in the proper time frame.
    If loading this data into Citadel is not possible with the original trace, can we load into another database file and view this data separately?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    First, you need to be able to get the data as well as the timestamp from the PLC.
    With all the data and timestamp, you can use the Logger object to log data to Citadel. Take a look at this example. The Logger_discrete object.
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3816
    But the problem is that the data is not logged to the original trace. It is logged to the logger object trace.

  • I have updated my computer to iTunes 10.5 and my iPhone 3Gs to OS 5 and it has wiped my music, photos and video etc.  I want to load my data from my wifes computer and it refuses because that computer does not have OS 5..Help

    I wanted to upgtade my iPhone software to Ver5 but it said I had to upgrade iTunes to Ver10.5.  Once the updates were complete I saw that all my music,photo' and video etc had been erased from both my iTunes AND my iPhone!!!!
    I tried connecting to my wifes computer and her iTunes in order to back up my music etc and it will not allow it and states that my iPhone needs iTumes Ver10.5!!
    This is very inconvenient and I am scared that if I update my wifes computer to Ver 10.5 we will lose that data also and as her phone is an older 2G iPhone, Ver10.5 may not work there!!
    How can I get her music etc onto my iPhone 3Gs Ver5 as ALL of my data is now lost?

    i had the same problem but i just got a new video converter and made it convert videos to ipod/iphone format and then put them into itunes. i would suggest GOM encoder as the encoder can convert them and then once they're finished converting, put them automatically into your itunes for you. from there you can just sync them to your ipod.

  • I have a xD-PictureCard that I want to load pictures onto, from my iPhotos.  The reader is a FinePix can I get it to work on the Mac.  when I try it wont install the software.  Is there any way i can load pics onto the SD card.

    I have a xD-PictureCard (SD Card) that works in a picture frame.  I have used it in the past on a Windows computer, now having an apple I want to change the pics and cannot.  When I reload the discs for Mac they won't install.  Is there anything I can do to put the pics on the SD card, I don't want to throw away the picture frame it cost a lot of money.

    This should be perfectly possible and without loading any software at all.
    Get a Card Reader for the XD card, and plug it into the Mac. It will then appear on the desktop. Drg the files to the Card. Make sure you keep the folder structure used on the Card - don't change that.

  • Want to load an xml document directly into an Oracle table

    From the Oracle XML Applications book pg: 106/107
    there is an example where it inserts into a Oracle table from the xml_documents table. What I would like to do is insert directly from the xml document and was able to but not able to get rid of the inserting into xml_documents section.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE insertXmlFile( dir VARCHAR2,
    file VARCHAR2,
    myTable varchar2,
    name VARCHAR2 := NULL) IS
    theBFile BFILE;
    theCLob CLOB;
    theDocName VARCHAR2(200) := NVL(name,file);
    BEGIN
    -- (1) Insert a new row into xml_documents with an empty CLOB, and
    -- (2) Retrieve the empty CLOB into a variable with RETURNING..INTO
    INSERT INTO xml_documents(XML_DOCUMENT_NM,XML_DOCUMENT_TX)
    VALUES('DELETE ME',empty_clob())
    RETURNING XML_DOCUMENT_TX INTO theCLob;
    -- (3) Get a BFile handle to the external file
    theBFile := BFileName(dir,file);
    -- (4) Open the file
    dbms_lob.fileOpen(theBFile);
    -- (5) Copy the contents of the BFile into the empty CLOB
    dbms_lob.loadFromFile(dest_lob => theCLob,
    src_lob => theBFile,
    amount => dbms_lob.getLength(theBFile));
    -- (5a) Insert the rows into the proper table
    insProc(theClob, myTable);
    -- (6) Close the file and commit
    dbms_lob.fileClose(theBFile);
    delete from xml_documents
    where xml_document_nm = 'DELETE ME';
    COMMIT;
    END;
    execute insertXmlFile ('XMLFILES','emp.xml','emp')

    Yes I would like to insert directly from an emp.xml file and load it directly into an emp table and not have to load the document in the xml_documents table and then insert into the emp table like I am doing in this procedure.

  • Loading of data from XML into Portal

    Hi,
    I have a XML schema generated from a Word document, containing chapters and appendices in diffrent levels.
    Is it possible to load this document into Portal text items, keeping the chapter/appendix structure?
    Regards,
    Nathalie

    Several third-party tools support converting a DTD into a "first-cut" XML Schema. It likely will need a lot of subsequent work to get it into a useable format -- since for example, all of the datatypes would need to be string.
    The tools I've personally used to accomplish this (and surely there are others) are:
    [list]
    [*]XML Authority from Extensibility
    [*]XML Spy 3.0 from Icon Software
    [list]
    The canonical format for XSU insert is precisely the default output format you would get by using XSU to generate XML for a select * from tablename statement.

  • Loading ntext data from MSSQL into Oracle - field locations vary

    Good afternoon/evening everyone
    I'm looking for a practical solution to a data migration issue I am running into. Here's the detail.
    1. Source database is Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
    2. Destination database is Oracle 11g R2.
    3. Migration strategy: Use MSSQL Management Studio Export Wizard to export all tables into flat files and then use SQL*Loader to load into Oracle.
    Sounds easy...Here's the problem I'm running into:
    1. Several tables have ntext data.
    2. The location of ntext attribute within the table varies by table.
    3. The number of ntext attributes in the source table varies by table.
    4. I'm using a field delimiter to split the data.
    What I am running into:
    1. There is nothing within the data for the ntext field that is common that would allow me to use a CONTINUEIF to cause the multiple physical records to be concatenated into a logical record.
    2. The number of physical records very for creating the logical record.
    3. Other data exists after each ntext attribute that is either ntext or non-ntext data.
    What I'm looking for:
    1. Would like to use SQL*Loader, if possible; otherwise I'll write a PL/SQL procedure to read the data, row for row, and load it into the appropriate fields.
    2. Looking for ideas from the Forum experts to provide some Control File syntax that would accomplish what I'm trying to do. I'm out of ideas.
    I would appreciate some assistance and some ideas if you have any.
    Thanks in advance

    is this what you are looking for?
        select replace('this a text with\X0D\X0Ain it', '\X0D\X0A', chr(13) || chr(10)) from dualyou can do the replace directly when loading by putting "replace(:fieldname, '\X0D\X0A', chr(13) || chr(10))"
    next to the field in the controll file you use with sql*loader (including the " signs). Or you can use it in an update statement.

  • I want to load Sprite Frames from single File in J2ME

    I am working on a game for Nokia 7650. I have series of images which represent animation sequence for my game charecters. For saving jar file space, I want to add all images (frames) on same PNG file instead of seprating it into small files.
    It saved me about 15K for each charecter which is very huge.
    Can anyone give me efficiant method to extract perticuler frame from large Image (png) file and display it to canvas. efficiant code is highly desirable due to nature of application.
    Thanks in advace for your help.

    There are 2 quite a serious problem that sun managed
    to overlook when choosing png as the file format for
    J2ME.
    Jar and png use the same compression algorithm, so
    putting png files inside a jar is absolutely
    pointless. (infact, a png in a zip uses more space
    than it does outside the zip :|)True, I a PNG image shouldn't compress any more with ZIP, if it did, then that would indicate less-than-optimal compression of the PNG image to start with.
    However, this is different than taking the raw image data and zipping that. PNG, as I understand it, does 2-dimensional compression, with knowledge of the image shape. This is more efficient than GIF's one-dimensional compression.
    Here is an example (a 477x412 24bpp RGB PNG image). I took the PNG, converted it to raw TGA (also did uncompressed TIFF with the same results), and zipped the uncompressed image.
    image.png - 250K
    image.tga - 576K
    image.zip - 329K (zipped image.tga, maximum compression)
    image.gz - 329K (gzipped image.tga, maximum compression)
    image.bz2 - 231K (wow! this suprised me. bzip2 of image.tga with maximum compression)
    So I was going to prove PNG as the best, but bzip2 beat it. Interesting. If we could get PNG to use the bzip2 algorithm, that would really be cool.
    mobile phones have small screens.
    A small screen size will generally mean your images
    will be small as well.
    The png format is not efficient for small images.
    abu,Yes, there is a bit of overhead with PNG images, although it's the same with almost every usual image format out there. Too bad.

  • Load flat files from S3 into SQL Server 2008 R2

    Hi, We have a few customers dropping files in Amazon S3. Could you please let me know how to load this data into SQL Server 2008 R2 database using SSIS? We are 2008 R2 BIDS environment.
    Thanks in advance..............
    Ione

    Hi ione721,
    You can install the PostgreSQL ODBC driver so that you can use the .Net Providers\Odbc Data Provider for ADO.NET Source component to connect to the Amazon cloud storage. After that, you can use a OLE DB Destination to load the data to SQL Server database.
