Want to uninstall, get error 1316.A

PSE 10 keeps freezing when I try to do anything with it.  I get a white screen and notice that it has stopped working.  I want to uninstall it!!!  I can't.  I get the "error 1316.A network error occurred while attempting to read from C\windows\installer\adobe photoshop elements 10.msi" I also get a flash message of "high disk usage ty Elements Organizer".   I love the editing but the organizer is terrible.  Thanks for any help!  I have deactivated it.

Run the MS FixIt utiltiy, then see if you can use the Control Panel to uninstall:
http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/
If that doesn't work, here are the Adobe instructions for manually removing PSE9, you'll have to adjust for PSE10:

  • How do I uninstall Elements 11?  I get Error 1316 and file it is looking for doesn't exist.

Nothing happens when I click on the Organizer button on the bottom of the screen in a new installation except it says Loading the Elements Organizer Workspace and then the message goes away. So I was going to uninstall and reinstall and got the error 1316 message "Network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\windows\installer\adobe photoshop elements 11.msi.  This file does not exist.  I have no network.  Can' find an answer that deals specifically with version 11.  Tried the Microsoft Fixit and that aborted with code 80072F8F.  Any solutions?

  • Unable to start bonjour. when uninstalling get error message 32 bit needs 64

I had trouble loading apple control panel.  kept getting error message at installation that the install is a 32 bit, requires a 64 bit version
I went to bonjour as instructed but could find 64 bit version.
I then uninstalled bonljour printer but the install for control panel was the same
I uninstalled bonjour printer, and found another bonjour that apparently was installed in 2011.  When I tried to unistall that program, I got the same this installer is a 32 bit, requires a 64 bit.  I am unable to unistall bonjour and still cannot install control panel  this is on a dell inspiron tower.

When deploying, the webservice .lvws file is stored in a the following location:
    32-bit webservices on 64-bit win 7/win vista:

If you do not want your web service to be loaded after subsequent reboots, you can clean up the .lvws files from these locations.
If you want your web service to be loaded only once after you deploy, you can uncheck the "Deploy as standalone Web Service" checkbox in the "Service Settings" tab of the web services properties dialog. You will need to rebuild your web service after making this change. This will make sure that the web service is NOT built as a standalone service, meaning that it will cease to exist once the instance of the process that deploys the web service exits (LabVIEW). Please make sure that you clean up your existing standalone web service completely before trying to deploy a web service with the name that is not standalone.

  • Error 1316 and 1402 FAIL

Am posting this to help save others from the Adobe and Microsoft near-disaster I just went through this morning. Unfortunately, I do not have a solution to these two error messages and, like many of you, am wondering why after years of trouble-free Adobe Reader installations, the latest version of 9.3 simply will not install.
If you are going to experiment with some of the changes suggested elsewhere in this forum, take heed.  BEFORE you make any changes to your computer, make sure Windows System Restore is set up and working properly (you can search for "system restore" in "Help and Support" in Windows to find it).  System Restore basically saved my a** today.
The backstory is that I, like many others, cannot install Adobe Reader 9.3.  There are a number of suggested solutions on the Adobe Reader forum for error 1316.  They may get you further along in the Adobe Reader 9.3 installation process, but then you may hit "error 1402".
Here is what I did and here is what happened (running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit on a PC with capacity and memory to spare):
    1. Saved the Adobe Reader 9.3 installation file to my desktop so that I could run it locally.
    2. Uninstalled the prior version of Adobe Reader using the Control Panel.
    3. Rebooted.
    4. Deactivated my antivirus software.
    5. Closed all Windows apps.
    6. Ran the Adobe Reader 9.3 installation setup and got Error 1316: "A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file ...AppData\Local\Adobe\Reader9.3\SetupFiles\AdbeRdr930_en_us.msi."
    7. Based on advice found on this forum I used the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility - WARNING - DO NOT USE THIS WITH Office 2007 installed on your PC (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301). The advice on this forum didn't mention Microsoft's warning on this and I didn't know.  So even though I only checked the box for Adobe Reader, it totally messed up Office 2007.  When I tried to open Outlook 2007, it wanted to reinstall Office 2007, and then it said I didn't have correct permissions to do the reinstall (but I had administrative privileges enabled...wtf?)
    8. Ironically, using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility got me further along in the Adobe 9.3 installation process, but then I hit Error 1402: "Could not open key \Unknown\Components\C37BC61A283[continues for many more characters]. Verify that you have sufficient resources to access that key." Cannot get past this error.
    9. Uninstalled the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and rolled the OS back four days to a point where Outlook would launch without problems.
    10. Reactivated the antivirus software.
This whole mess has wasted hours of time and I still can't install the newest version of Adobe 9.3.  There are lots of postings about these two error codes so it appears to be a common issue - does Adobe read these forums? Instead of asking their customers to fix the problem, how about they fix it? (Yes, Adobe Reader is free, but I purchased Photoshop Elements so would consider myself an Adobe customer).
    Sorry for the rant.

I am so pleased to have found this posting. Have just spent 90 minutes trying to download 9.3.2 so my daughter can, supposedly, get full value from her school's Moodle site. Keep getting Error 1316 even after trying all the suggestions on the Adobe site, eg "save software first and then run". And in the middle of all this I got an autogenerated request to participate in an Adobe end user satisfaction survey! If someone out there has solved this without the need to upgrade to W7 please let us know. Meantime, I'm going to do some gardening.

  • Windows 8.1 error 1316 with Link 123_b022

Running Windows 8.1 now with Kaspersky AV & Firewall.  Previously with ESET NOD32 aV.
I had installed vers 122_b010 Link with ESET NOD32 and it was working fine.  I thought I would put on the latest 123_b022 and everything fell apart.
It tries to install Visual C++ SP1 W8 which is acaually already installed. But going on the install proceeds until I was getting Blue Screen with NDIS_SYS  IRQL_Not <=
So I uniinstalled, deleted all folders and files etc.  Clean registry with PC Tools.  Restarted.
Now (with AV off) I get Error 1316 with both the new and older Link versions.
    What is going on?
Additional info.  I reinstalled the Intel Ethernet drivers as that can cause the NDIS_Sys problem.  No change.
I am running ASUS Sabertooth Z87 MOBO with Intel i7-K4770 CPU and Samsung SSD with

    Check here:   http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/ProductViewerWithDefaultFilters?Te...
You do not say which version of Kaspersky you have and if it is not compatible you must uninstall it as disabling will not do.  ESET NOD32 is compatible so you can use that or Windows Defender which is just as good as the others but you need to turn it on and Update.
BlackBerry error 1316 is caused by leftover files from previous versions, I read you said you removed everything, Use the Search utility, find and delete all     blackberry     files found.
So most likely AV or BB files causing your issue, could also now be Registry Cleaner, you may know what you are doing but I can tell you registry cleaners actually cause more problems than they fix.

before i try to install there will be an option to repair and remove but i havent got any version of adobe reader so i click on repair, after that i get an error message 1316.
after that i try clicking on remove but it says to close application like acrobat and adobe reader.

It would help if you quoted the full error message you are getting.
Are you sure you don't have Adobe Reader installed at all?
Can you check with Microsoft Fixit Center if you don't have any broken environment variables?

  • How do I Uninstall Adobe PSE9?  All I get is an error message, "Error 1316.  The specified account already exists".  Then the Unistaller rolls back and the program just sits there, partially uninstalled and unusable.

I have upgraded to PSE13 and want to unistall PSE9.  When I try to do this all I get is an error message, "Error 1316.  The specified account already exists".  Then the uninstaller rolls back and I am left with a partially uninstalled version that is unusable.  I tried to reinstall the software from the original PSE9 disk but all it tries to do is uninstall the version already on my computer, and this then does the same thing as noted above. How do I completely uninstall PSE9?

  • Trying to uninstall Acrobat 10, I get an Error 1316. The specified account already exists

I am a new Creative Cloud Subscriber.  I tried to install Acrobat XI Pro and received an error during the installation.  I contacted support, and they had me uninstall the partial installation of Acrobat XI, and then reboot the machine.
After the reboot I attempted to install Acrobat 11 from a full version that I downloaded from the Adobe website, based on the information provided to me by support.
That did not work and while the software was trying to uninstall Acrobat X I received an Error 1316, and it quit.
Now when I try to remove Acrobat 10, I get the Error 1316 The specified account already exists.
What do I need to do to uninstall Acrobat 10 and Install Acrobat 11.
    EJ

You will need to repair AA X before you can uninstall it. AA XI typically breaks part of prior versions in that removal of AA XI, removes those parts of XI the overwrote parts of X and thus X is broken.

  • I have an error 130:9 in Photoshop Elements associated with AMT Subsystem failure. I have tried Licencerecovery109. Did not work. I cannot uninstall Photoshop Elements. I get an error 1316 and the program is reinstalled. Please advise.

I have screen dumps of the errors but cannot paste them

    Hi Hans
    Just to summarise:
If I run Photoshop Elements I get a window headed "AMT Subsystem failure".  It states "This product has a problem which requires that you restart your computer before it can be launched. If you continue to see this message etc. contact Adobe Technical Support etc. Error 130:9. http etc".
I have tried to run LicenceRecovery 109. This did not work. I have tried other suggestions on the internet. Nothing worked. This included resetting FLexnet.
I then tried to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop Elements. There is no repair facility. The uninstall gets about 95% through and then stops and replaces all the files. I get a window headed "Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Setup".  It states "Error 1316. A network error while trying to read from the file C:\windows\installer\adobe photoshop elements 8.0.msi."
That is the details of the two screen dumps which I have.
    Please advise.

  • When trying to uninstall a program, I am getting a 1316 error

I have been trying to remove the Ask toolbar and Ask.com from my system. I have been using the control panel. I keep getting a 1316 error. What is that error and how can I accomplish my task?

hello plottc, you could try if this microsoft fixit tool helps you uninstalling the ask toolbar: http://support2.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall
...or you could try a third-party tool like [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] in order to remove unwanted adware.

  • Elements 1 Uninstall, error 1316

I installed Elements 12 and had assumed it would unintall the Elements 10 already on my pc.  It didn't, and now when I try to run Windows' uninstall function (from Windows or from the disk) to remove Elements 10, I get an "error 1316" statement referencing an .msi file.  I see some other answers in the forum refering to clean up tools that reference cloud services, or a MS Fixit utility that MS no longer offers.  I am running Windows 8.1.   Any thoughts?

From your description, it sounds like you are working with Photoshop Elements 9 (photo editor) and not Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 (video editor).
If that is correct, you have posted in the wrote forum. You want the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum.

You can repost there or wait for a moderator here to see your thread and move it from here to there.
