Want to use an iPod photo configurated for Mac on a PC

I want to use my old iPod photo (configurated for Mac) on a PC (but do not need to keep my songs and photos). Is this possible? If so, what do I do?

If your iPod is formatted for Mac it won't run natively on a PC because the Windows OS does not support the HFS Plus file system and therefore will not see the drive. Macs can read Windows drives so you could restore and format the iPod on a PC, this would also mean any future software updates would have to be done on Windows. This will erase your drive so you need to have your songs and photos backed up. Alternatively there are third party programs that will allow you to use a Mac formatted iPod on Windows, this is one for instance gets good reviews and has the functionality to let you copy content from the iPod to the PC. Settings>Store (or iTunes & App Stores if you are running iOS6)>Apple ID. Tap your son's ID and sign out. Sign in with your ID and password.
You shouldn't lose the music, but if you try to update any apps that you bought with the family ID, you will have to use that password that is linked with that ID in order to update.
Avoid downloading past purchased content with the old ID if you can since you will associate the iPad with the old ID for 90 days and you will lock yourself out of your own, new ID for that period of time. Read more about associated devices in iTunes here.

Hey Evawantsin, turning off Wi-Fi as suggested by Illaass will do the trick, but how are you connecting to your stereo? If it uses Wi-Fi, then you need to turn the Wi-Fi on for music sessions. If through Bluetooth your fine, or do you use a physical connection like a dock, USB to lighting cable or do you just plug in through the headphone port with a patch cable? Also, you can down load the iPod Touch Users Guide for iOS 8 for free from iTunes. It will answer most questions, or at least point you in a direction. Hope this helps. Good luck, Cheers.

The movies do not download onto apple TV it shows them as purchased and you need to stream them down. If you want to show your purchased music on Apple TV you need to sign up for iTunes Match.
There seem to be a few glitches with iTunes Match so i just use the computer icon to listen to music on my computer through Apple TV. If you have your Movies and TV shows on your computer this is where you will find them.
The Movies and TV Shows buttons on the main page of Apple TV show you films and tv shows you have purcahsed or cen rent or purchase.
You can also sync your Photos over as well. Method is slightly different in that in iTunes on the computer
File > HomeSharing > Choose photos to share with Apple TV

under usage-i only have the camera roll, photo library and photostream-they don't show the individual albums withing my libraries-if i delete library-i would delete about 12 albums

On your phone, Go to "Settings", "iCloud", scroll to the bottom and "sign out." Assuming you have the the account password/security info of the current account, it will delete everything iCloud related upon your approval (don't worry, everything will remain in the cloud.) Once signed out, in the same settings location (under "Settings", "iCloud") sign in using your Apple ID and Password.

If you go to Apple, they will not replace your battery, but exchange your iPod for a refurbished iPod of the same model with a new battery. Therefore you will lose everything that is not backed up. If you change it yourself or have a third party change it, you will most likely not lose anything (but still best to make a backup as lllaass suggested).
