I want to create a slide show with sliding effect just like a
film strip, i have got an fla in which the swf picks an xml file
and made its slide show but i want this slide show in a flm strip,
i am new in flash scripting so please tell me in detail how can we
do this, i will be very thankfull if u create a demo fla for me. i

Hi, I made a slide show with music from 81 photos I downloaded to iphoto from my camera. I would like to burn the slide show to DVD, but can't make this happen. How do I go about doing this?

If the DVD is to play on a DVD Player, then Share -> Send to iDVD as iDVD is the only app that creates the correct file structure and format for this purpose.
If the DVD is just to hold the file, then Export to the desktop and burn with the Finder.

Try this basic troubleshooting technique: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - reboot
4 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

I have tried much of the same - still no joy.
I also reported it as a bug to Apple although the response page said "we can't reply to messages"
For now I have had to turn off auto syncing and keep plugging and unplugging until the device is recognised correctly - about 1 in 10.
In my email to apple I also listed the contents of the xml file that keeps track of the devices that iTunes has seen:

You will see from the Use Count that these are adjacent connections, ie plugged in as ipad then as iphone. Apart from the device class, everything else is the same.

Export to the desktop as a QuickTime movie and then right click on the QT movie file and burn to disk - teh person you give the gift to will have to have QT player on their computer to play the slideshow

I made a slide show using imovie. When I play it back on my imac, the slideshow looks perfect. However when I burned in via iDVD and play the disc, the resolution drops off. The video appears fuzzy and not sharp. Any ideas why?

When I played the dvd the resolution is very poor. Fuzzy and shakey images. I tried various solutions, Apple tec told me to go to preferences on iDVD and select "professional" to get higher resolution. Tried that but results still the same. Any ideas?

When you play on your Mac, you can have resolution up to 1920x1080.
When you burn to iDVD you convert to 640x480.

All the music plays. Literally took it off of my old hard drive I used to sync from and put it on my new computer. It all works. I don't know why it wouldn't work or why it would sync all f'ed up.

You will have to export it out of iPhoto as a QT movie file and then add that file to the iWeb page.

Made a slide show and cannot get my music to play on it?

I made a new slide show on my Macbook Pro iphoto (running iphoto '11-- 9.4.2) and I clicked down at the bottom to add my music to the slide show.. I can see how to direct it to my itunes library. I chose an album. Clicked "choose." But then when I play the slide show I hear soem stupid default music that has nothing to do with anything..?
Also I could settle with one album off of my itunes, but I saw that I could customize the playlist on that pop up thing and then I put basically two albums in there.. But it did not seem to remember the custom playlist.. Even though I hit "choose" which I think would make it select and remember what I had entered..??
What to do? Specifics are very helpful on what I click and where it is, if possible..

I want manual duration for slide show - Remove music?

I have a slide show of six drop zones from iPhoto albums. I would like to have manual duration, but that choice is grayed out and not selectable. iDVD added the default music uninvited. I was able to set the volumes to minimum on both the title and slide shows but I think I need to get rid of the music completely to get the manual duration. But I can't seem to make that happen. Please help.

From the Help Menu in iDVD6:
Setting slideshows to advance manually
Slideshows in iDVD advance to the next slide automatically, with each picture remaining on the screen for 3 seconds. If your slideshow doesn't have a soundtrack, you can set it to advance manually. Viewers can then click the Next or Forward button on the DVD remote control to advance to the next slide at their own pace.
To set a slideshow to advance manually:
1. Double-click the button for your slideshow in the DVD menu to open the slideshow editor.
2. Choose Manual from the Slide Duration pop-up menu.
3. Click Settings and select "Display navigation arrows" if you want to display right and left arrows on the screen as a visual reminder to the viewer to click the Next button on the remote control to advance to the next slide.
4. When you are finished, click the Return button to exit the slideshow editor.

Works exactly the same way with photos shared from your iPhoto library (with the exception it reads "Library" as opposed to "Slideshow" when added to iDVD's entry Menu page).

As far as I know, Apple have never released these as Keynote presentations. They are available as Quicktime video from the Apple Events website

I made a slide show with music and random transitions in iPhoto. I can't burn it to a DVD. The burn button in iPhoto is not highlighted, and when I exported the slide show to iDVD, it lost the random transistions, and the disk won't play in DVD player.

Two problems: 1. My iphoto slide show loses its random transitions when I export it to iDVD.
2. When I then burn it to a disk, the disk will not play in a DVD player, but only on my MAC.
Any ideas?

The random transitions can only be random when played in iPhoto.
If you are in the slideshow mode and use the Share ➙ iDVD menu option a quictime movie will be created of the slideshow with the first random set of transitions and imported into iDVD. The transitions, however, will be fixed permanently and will not be changed again.
There is no way to get any sort of random behavior in an iDVD. When it's burned to disk it's locked permanently.
