We're running Solaris 10 on a T3-2. The T3 is configured purely as a physical server; there are LDOM's created. We're running Oracle 11.2 databases on this server, and it's been running fine since May ( date of last reboot ). However, two days ago it 'hung'. There was no system panic, and from looking at Oracle AWR database reports, the load on the server went very high. At the same time as the load figure increased, the following messages started to appear in /var/adm/messages ...

RobI've seen this a few times when a cmt goes under extremely high load under solaris 10. Its possible the scheduler does not cope well with the high load. Being up to date on firmware / patches is a good start. Be aware if an old parallel garbage collection kicks in on a jvm this or worse can happen. prstat -mL might be an indicator if it happens again .... and if the SA decides to reboot tr to collect dump when he does so.

I have a <af:inputFile> component which will upload only image file and render the corresponding image...
It work with normal application deployed on weblogic server however when i use same taskflow as a part of human task in SOA BPM worklist...

And in BPM whenever i upload PNG file it throws this error.
Please help.

CTI Warning: The call has failed because of network interruption

Hi, one of agents received incoming call and his call dropped within few seconds and error on CTIOS agent desktop was "CTI Warning: call has failed because of network interruption". I investigated and got info from icm database schema that this error is 26-U-Abort and caused due to network congestion. Network team shown the logs and no error regarding network found. What else could be the reason?

Disc Utility - warning if RAID HD fails ?

I would like to set up an external RAID1 in a Sonnet JBOD ( Fusion D400P ).
I just learnt, that if I set up this RAID1 with Apples Disc Utility, there will be no automatic warning if one of the drives is failing...
Is that true ?
Do I need to set up the RAID with SoftRaid to be on the safe side ?

What make and model drives? Not all work, or work well, and Samsung F1s have specifically been sited as not working with Apple Pro RAID.

Deleted disk image generates warning that disk image failed to mount

When I got a new MacBook a month ago, I created a disk image to share an iPhoto library on the same computer. Now I am using an external hard drive to share the library. I deleted the disk image in Disk Utility, but when I start up I get the warning that the disk image failed to mount.
Any ideas?

Deleting the disk image from the trash seems to have fixed the problem.

Warning -- Release Preview + T60p = Fail

General warning to those thinking about trying Windows 8, release preview, on a T60p. Not sure what they did with release preview, but it's simply awful. It doesn't recognize nearly any of the drivers for T60p hardware -- most notably the display adapter for the ATi FireGL V5250. Not only is the display resolution atrocious, but it's very, very slow: the mouse skips across the screen as if moving the mouse is a difficult task.
It should be noted that I installed the release preview onto my installation of Windows 8 "consumer preview" which I had previously installed months before. The earlier Windows 8 consumer preview actually worked quite well on the T60p, recognized the Windows 7 drivers I had for my hardware, and even permitted me to use all of my old programs that I was using in Windows 7.
After installing release preview onto my consumer preview, I simply could no longer use my system. After about a day of trying to troubleshoot all the driver problems, I decided to install Ubuntu 12.04, which began working flawlessly (driver-wise). However, because of some compatibility issues at work, my T60p is now back to running Windows XP.

It seems that some people are getting the Vista driver to work with the Windows 8 preview.
Lenovo won't provide support for Windows 8 until it's official release.

It started after I've added a third DNS Server and did not reboot the whole appliance, but just all services....

I did a reboot and the problem was solved. I got the message when I tried to stop ISE while all services were just about to get up.

When I attempt to download Firefox 3.5.10 I get a warning stating "disk image failed to mount - corrupt image", what can I do?

I am attempting to download "Firefox 3.5.10", each attempt the results state "The disk image failed to mount due to corrupt image". I really need this browser for my on-line learning. Please help! By the way 2.0 downloaded fine, but is not compatible with the University web site.

Ran into this problem this afternoon. Had to download after the latest version failed to start after progressively becoming a bit tweeky. Got the failed to mount message also broken pipe, even though I am running 10.4.
I went into Mac OS Updates and downloaded the latest version of Java Script. After restart I was able to mount the new Firefox and it seems to be working now.

GNOME Fails to start - Polkit? Main.js? - Receive 'Oops' message.

Been using Arch for years but this is my first problem surprisingly so posting it in this Newbies section.
I have MATE, KDE, and FLUXBOX working fine as desktop environments for years. Thought I would give GNOME a try and no matter what I've tried I cannot get it working. All I get is a sad face with an 'OOPS' message on screen. Although I am prompted to enter my WiFi password presumably from NetworkManager. None of the errors listed below turn up much on Google so I thought I'd turn to the community. Any help getting GNOME working correctly would be very much appreciated.

it seems you're missing dependencies, or they're not started for some reason. Try running GNOME via GDM, installing latter should pull in the full kitchen sink. If you want more hints, google for "gjs polkit not found".

"Installation Failed" when trying to install CS6 on a machine that has

I am trying to install CS6 and keep getting "Installation Failed" error. I have restarted. Quit all applications. Uninstalled old versions of CS (Except CS5).

Windows failed to apply the Internet Explorer Zonemapping settings - the data was invald (event ID: 1085)

Hi All,
I have a large domain and a long list of websites that are trusted using the following group policy setting:
Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer> Internet Control Panel > Security Page >
Site to Zone Assignment List
On all (XP/vista/win7) workstations across the domain I'm getting the following error:

There's nothing either side of this error in the log that shines any more light on the issue.
I know which group policy object its applying these settings but cant find which of the entries in the site to zone assignment list is causing this issue. I looked in the
Group Policy/Operational log but all I see is the following entry which says "completed" but is logged as an error:
After some research I'm guessing that the issue is an incorrect wild-card. This is what my trusted sites list looks like (with names removed of course):

Does anyone know where I could find an article that clearly outlines the acceptable wildcard syntax for the
"Security page\ site to zone assignment list" group policy? Ive read every forum post, website and blog I could find on the internet but nothing is clear and I wasn't able to find an MS document that steps it out. I've also changed the
existing list a number of times based on blog posts etc but had no luck.
**Please Note**
I dont want to change to a different method or have an intellectual debate re why I would have these sites/wildacrd/policy set. I'm really looking to see what entry is invalid and where the documentation is for this policy setting so i can make sure they are
always correct in the future.

UPDATE:
I disabled the original policy and created a new one with only one trusted site address in it. Then I logged into a clean test machine did some testing.What I found after a few hours of testing was; regardless of the site that I have listed in group policy
The HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Current version\Internet Settings\Zone Map Key registry entry is
always updated with that entry on the workstation. So the workstation's registry always updates the key with
*.sitename.com per the site that I have set in GP
If I run GPUPDATE /FORCE over and over again, on the same machine, under the same user account, using the same DC I get:
Failure, Failure, Failure, Success, Success, Success, Failure etc
I wasn't able to determine any pattern to the failures, I tried stopping some of the processes on that machine but didn't find anything that would make it fail/succeed reliably.
There is no AV or firewalls installed on my test machine
Anyone have any more ideas? I think I might install filemon and try to capture some more data unless there's a better tool?

Yes, and that's straight from my Microsoft TAM. As long as you include an asterisk inside those site-to-zone mappings, you'll continue to see them. The key is whether or not they're working. In my environment, I've seen complete success using the
http://*.domain.com, or
https://*.domain.com, no matter if the site is http://www.domain.com or
http://milk.does.a.body.good.domain.com. Despite the success, we continue to see the errors. It's much the same as Group Policy Preferences where you can apply a setting once, or repeatedly. If you apply
something repeatedly and it's already set, lookout for some complaints in the application log. It really is annoying. There's potential to play with the logging levels, but I'll admit that my experience ranks as "novice" in this specific section of group policy.

I see you've already read a number of articles including "a test case for troubleshooting those event IDs"... I sympathize with your efforts. I despise warnings and errors that I can't solve or don't want to see, but I've researched a number of them to death
and found that many are simply "normal". Uggg... I hope this helps, but please take my advice, as with anyone else's out here, with caution. I've seen some crazy recommendations. I saw a recommendation to install SQL on a DHCP server to get failover clustering
up and running. I hope the guy asking for help didn't listen to that one! : ) - josh

Installation Failed Error

When trying to install in Acrobat Pro 11 in Mac with 10.8 I get an error message that installtion has failed. However, Acrobat Pro 11 does appear in my applications folder and appears to work but some of the feautres are not fully loaded and others crash. I have researched the issue and have attempted to reinstall after removing it, and reinstalling after running disk permerssions and repiar without sucess. Also tried to install as another administrator without luck, any ideas?

Besides the obvious error that the instlal failed, a number of the plug-in's are not loaded and when trying to convert a webpage to PDF my computer crashes. On that note, when I open up preferences and select Convert to PDF, I am not able to edit the settings for any of the different file formats that are listed. The warning that the install failed occured at the end of the install and did not provide any error code or reference, all it said was the install failed and to contact the software maker. I will be happy to post any relevant error codes if you can tell me how to get to them.

While Installation of 11g database creation time error ORA-28056: Writing audit records to Windows Event Log failed Error

OS = Windows XP 3
Database = Oracle 11g R2 32 bit
Processor= intel p4 2.86 Ghz
Ram = 2 gb
Virtual memory = 4gb
I was able to install the oracle 11g successfully, but during installation at the time of database creation I got the following error many times and I ignored it many times... but at 55% finally My installation was hanged nothing was happening after it.....
ORA-28056: Writing audit records to Windows Event Log failed Error and at 55% my Installation got hung,,,, I end the installation and tried to create the database afterward by DBCA but same thing happened....
Please some one help me out, as i need to install on the same machine .....

But when I checked the listener was up.....
Now what was the problem, I am able to connect and work through sqlplus,
But I didnt got the link of EM and when try to create a new connection in sql developer it is giving error ( Status : failure - Test Failed the Network Adapter could not establish the connection )

Creation of the dbcontrol requires a connection via the listener. When configuring the dbcontrol as part of database creation, it appears that the dbcontrol creation step runs before the dynamic registration of the databsase with the listener is complete. Now that the database itself is completed and enough time (really, just a minute or two) has passed to allow the instance to register, use dbca or emca to create the dbcontrol.
Are you able to get a sqlplus connection via the listener (sqlplus scott/tiger@orcl)? That needs to be the first order of business.
