Watching iTunes Movies

I'm embarrassed to ask this, but...
I was browsing through the movies on iTunes and found one I wanted to buy. However, before I purchased it, I realized I don't know how I would actually watch the movie.
Can burn DVD's from iTunes movies? Or will I be limited to watching them on a computer or an iPod. Or, would I have to hook my computer up to my TV?
Sorry, if this is a dumb question, but I don't know where else to ask it.

I won't buy many movies on iTunes for that reason. You can only watch them on your iPod. I do like having some movies on my iPod. Another thing that the movies on iTunes don't have that the movies on a DVD have are the special features. So if I had my drothers I would like to get the package and the special features, but like I said it is neat to have a couple movies on your iPod.
I just purched the Cars movie. And am having problems with it. It appears that my iPod is trying to convert a Wide Screen Movie to Full Screen. So any writing is getting cut off and the movie is probably just being centered. I am unaware if I need to make this movie widescreen, I would prefer it full screen if I did not have these problems. I will contact iTunes support to figure this out...unless someone else has an answer.

Problem trying to watch iTunes movie with powerbook g4

My 867 g4 is doing the equivalent of a stutter when I try to watch the godfather (downloaded from iTunes) on it. The picture and sound keep momentarily stopping and starting again. I've got the original hard drive and 384 gb of ram.

Hi, Erik. I don't watch movies on my Powerbook or download them from the iTunes Store, so I'm certainly no expert on the possible causes of your problem. But here are some thoughts for whatever they may be worth:
You have pretty minimal RAM installed to support any demanding use of the Powerbook in Tiger, so adding RAM is my first thought.
Because watching a movie is a pretty demanding use, you may want to make sure no other applications or processes are running on the computer while you're doing it. In addition to quitting all other applications, try turning off BlueTooth and Airport (if you have them) and disconnecting any USB peripheral devices, some of which may occasionally exchange packets of information with the Mac even when they're not in use. Post back and let us know whether these steps make any difference.
I presume you've downloaded the movie to your internal hard drive and are playing it from there rather than from any other drive - is that correct?

My Mac Air shows a green screen when attempting to watch iTunes movie downloads....... All updates are completed. Mid 2012 Mac Air.....

When I attempt to watch any Itunes movies on my Mac Air IOX 10.9.2 all I get is a green screen. I can hear audio but nothing else. Please advise why this happens and how I can sort it out.

Apple TV - watch iTunes movie using gift card credits.

What process do I need to use to rent an iTunes movie, pay for with gift card credits and watch on Apple TV? Can I do it directly from the Apple TV? Windows iTunes and current model of Apple TV.

For me I just load up the credit in iTunes on a computer or iPhone/iPad. When I rent/buy on AppleTV the store credit is used before the linked credit card, you just don't see the store credit on AppleTV. Occasionally peopel have had the cc debited but if that happened I'd contact iTunes Store support and get them to sort it out.

Watching iTunes Movie on Apple TV while streaming sound to multiple AirPlay speakers

I bought a pair of Airplay speakers and Apple TV 3rd generation to watch my Movies in the iTunes library. Importantly, I want to listen to the movies sound on multiple Airplay speakers while watching. So far I couldn't activate the speakers, once I started the movie.
Has anyone an idea, how to do that?

I'm doing signal processing and work with videos professionally. The audio signal is technically always separated (and extractable) from the video frames. I don't see why the audio shouldn't be possible to be distributed to different airplay clients?
Do you mean that this option is just not supported by apple? In this case, do you know if it is at least possible to stream to multiple apple TV's at the same time?

Watching itune movies on a non-apple TV

When trying to watch an itunes tv episode or movie on my macbook (which is hooked up to my nice Sony monitor) I keep getting messages saying the video will not appear on both screens even though I have 'mirrored image' set. In fact, I couldn't get it to run on the TV screen at all - even when clicking on the tv and laptop icons at the top. The TV screen just goes black when the video starts and only the laptop shows the movie. Is there an update or something I can download to fix this? It says it will work on an Apple TV so why not any other??

Hmmm... May not be Digital Rights Management after all.
It has been a while since I used a multi-display hookup to show iTunes videos, but I think I did it by dragging the iTunes window from the laptop screen onto the external display (TV) before starting the video and zooming it to full screen. Then it's the laptop screen that goes black, I think.
By the way, deniseandjeff, an Apple TV is not actually a TV. It's just a small box that relays video and audio from various sources to a separate actual TV screen.

Watching iTunes movie on iPhone.

I have several movies (mp4) in my iTunes library on my iMac. Can I select and watch them on my iPhone5 over my home network?

The Automatic downloads service is for music, apps and iBooks. If you rent a movie in iTunes you'll have to sync it to your iPhone.
This is probably because each type of content has diffrent copyright restrictions. I don't think you can do what you expect with any online service.
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th generation), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

Yes you can play them on your phone, you will find them in the 'video' app.

Watching iTunes Movies in Quicktime....easily

Now that iTunes is such a massive powerhorse on my Mac Pro, I can't play movies within the iTunes environment without major spinning-beachball watching. 2Mb of RAM just ain't enough anymore, and I now have to wait an eternity just to watch anything, even small podcast movies.
So I'm now continually doing the "Right click on movie in library/Show in Finder. Then in Finder drag onto QT or RMB and OPEN in Finder" thing up to 100 times a day!!!!
Enough!!!!!! I need help..... Can anyone magic up a quick solution or Applescript code to do this.
The only online solution I have found is a software called iGetMovies which seems to have disappeared down the internet garbage chute.

Okay ... putting QuickTime into safe mode (on that system) might just degrade the video quality (making it jerky) even if it does help with the green/black screen.
Are your BIOS, chipset drivers and video drivers all up to date at the moment?

Unable to watch iTunes movie extras on Apple TV

I buy movies on iTunes but cannot watch the extras I paid for on the Apple TV (last year's model) from which I purchased the movies. Is there a trick to this?

Well, NBA @ Apple TV is available in my region, already checked that 28 times.
They just aren't able to release an update prior to the start of preseason and really fumble around till season start (which is in 2 days!)...poor performance.
Is is Apple that is blocking the update or neulion who is lazy as ****?

Watching iTunes Move creates intermittent black flicker on screen

Hi friends,
I have a problem with my PC connected to my HDTV.
I have a small ASROCK Vision PC running Windows 8 and the latest version of iTunes which is connected via the amplifier to the HDTV.
For some reason when I start watching anything in HD, I get a black screen flicker every minute or so, its extremely annoying.
Everything seems to carry on ok though until the next flicker.
If I stop the movie, the flicker keeps coming on the screen every 1 minute, except when I close down iTunes then it goes away. I have reinstalled iTunes multiple times but no success.
Anyone run in to this problem before?

You have somehow enabled VoiceOver!
Turn it off in System Preferences/Universal Access/Seeing, or try clicking F5.

Why can't watch iTunes movies off iPad to connected monitor.

Apple apparently doesn't let you watch movies from your iPad2 even though it works fine with tv shows. Is there any way around this? It seems pretty annoying given that these are movies purchased throu iTunes.

No, I'm not using "sharing." the movies are resident on the iPad, which is connected via HDMI to a digital TV. I just did a quick check with several movies and the following play perfectly:
Psycho
War of the Worlds (original 1953 version)
The Sting
When I get a chance (probably Monday), I'll set up "sharing" and run a test for you.

I just bought the movie "Drive" on iTunes on my ipad2. Itunes states when i next connect on my DESKTOP i will get the extras and i did but -- they won't sync or transfer to my ipad.

Well Apple wants to provide this, but Hollywood is VERY protective over there content and does not want the same thing happening to them as did the music industry.
The nano doesn't support video only the 5G iPod.
Apple announced a Prototype device code named iTV thats basicly like a set top box and streams your purchased content like video over to your TV wirelessly. THey PLAN on having it out the first part of 2007 unless they hit some glitch

I want to stream my itune movies to my TV via a UK Skybox - can this be done?

I have connected the Skybox to the Samsung HD LED TV via an ethernet cable (as discussed by the Samsung manual) and the tv M-Player now recognises my MB Pro and allows me to view photos (iphoto) on my MB and itunes mucic. WRT movies however, the M-Player tells me the codex is not supported. Any suggestions, the TV is only 12 months old?

Just in case you're not familiar with it, the Apple TV isn't actually a TV, but a small box which connects to your TV and your wireless (or ethernet) network and enables you to play media from your iTunes Library on the television, or stream movies etc which you rent from the iTunes Store.

It's possible to get an adaptor from your Mac's video output to an HDMI socket so that your TV can mirror the Mac's display - you can then watch iTunes movies full screen on the TV. It's a lot cheaper than the Apple TV but more of a fiddle if the computer is some way away from the TV because of the cable (which doesn't carry the sound, so you need an extra cable for that).
