WBS Element Populated on Asset GL Account Line Ledger 90

Hello All,
For preliminay settlement of a WBS element to an AuC asset, how do you get the WBS element to populate on the account line for the asset gl account in ledger 90?
Currently, I'm working in R/3 4.7 and the WBS populates on both sides of the accounting document (on the asset line as well as the settlement line). We are upgrading to ECC6 and this does not work the same. The WBS element is blank on the asset line. I cannot remember how the R/3 4.7 system was configured in order for the asset line to mirror the WBS element on the settlement line. If I can understand how it works in R/3, then maybe I can get it to function the same in the upgrade.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi
When the WBS element is settled to the Asset, ideally the balance in the WBS element would have become Zero. Then there is no question of calculation of Interest on WBS element. You can change the status of the WBS element to TECO or CLSD if you dont want to use the same WBS element further.

  • Error when I execute CJ88 form WBS element to AUC asset.

    Hi,
We have one WBS element which was created to settle the values to AUC asset at the period end. Now we are in 2012 fiscal year 8th period. Asset accounting books were closed for company code of the 2011 fiscal year. This company code currency AUD and Controlling area currency is EUR.
User has booked some expenses to this WBS element in company code currency in 2012 fiscal year 1st period. When he tried to settle in 2012 fiscal year 1st period, he is getting error like "First clear the values in previous year". when we go and see the WBS element for the 12th period of 2011 fiscal year, still there is a difference "0.01".
When we go and see the CJI3 for this WBS element, fiscal year 2011 and period 12 still there is some 0.01 value. My doubt is why system is showing this difference in CJI3, even I have posted transactions in company code current. Client was able to close the Asset accounting books without any errors.
User has posted expenses debit and credit amount to this WBS element during the period in 2012 fiscal year, still system is showing 5.25 difference  for the same WBS element in CJI3 transaction code.
Could any body help me to know why this difference is showing even we post the amounts in company code currency. Why system has not given any error in 2011 fiscal year when user was closing books for asset accounting?
    Thanks and regards,
    Yelamanda Rao.

When closing the year, the system checks to see if Periodic Posting has been recently run, and throws error if it still needs running.  System performs other checks too, such as checks for incomplete asset records.
However, the system doesn't check for missed settlements.  We have to manually check for settlement errors, and for pending settlements, before closing out the AA year.
There could be an OSS Note on this topic, do not know.  You may need to reopen the fiscal year and AA year and complete your asset support transactions, settlement, periodic posting, AFAR, AFAB.
Since the year is already audited, stay in touch with accounting and your auditor before taking these steps.
It is possible to enter offsetting g/l entries to nullify and defer the impact of your settlement, etc., to FY12 if your requirement is to not alter the FY11 g/l balances audited.  But the AA sub-ledger will be slightly changed.

  • Creating a Validation for WBS Element in the Asset Master Record

I would like to know how to create a validation in the AMR for the WBS Element field. I would like to have a particular Business Area when used be required to only use a WBS element that starts with, let's say, AL. Can someone shed some light on how I would set up my check in OACV?

    Hello
You can validate or substitute data directly at the input stage. You make the settings for validation and substitution in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Controlling, under Controlling General ® Account Assignment Logic ® Define Validation or Define Substitution
Substitution and validation are only intended for actual postings
For a complete description of validation and substitution, see the SAP Library under Accounting - FI Financial Accounting ® Special ledger ® Tools ® Validation and Substitution Rules
Coordinate with ABAPer and make settings.

  • WBS element&Cost center required for Account 11111000000 Profit center 1234

    Hi,
While realeasing the billing document we are getting the subjectted error.
We do maintain the cost centre in the sales order, however no idea about the WBS elemnt.
    Pls help.
    Regards,

For information, if you want to post any data to WBS element, the Account Assignment indicator should have been ticked which you can do in OPSA or try in T.Code CJ20N where you can input manually.
For more information on WBS element, go through this thread

  • Asset - WBS element-PO

    Hi All,
I have created a wbs element. Assigned it in the Asset master.
Now, when I create an asset PO for the said asset, it is not populating the WBS element automatically.
Which other settings needs to be done other than giving the WBS element in the asset master.
Also, I need to assign a budget for the WBS element so that any PO created over and above this budget is not created.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Actually, it should work the following way:you post your documents on WBS and then settle the costs to the asset. You can put the budget on the WBS and the document posted on it would be controlled budget-wise.

  • Rectifying WBS Element from FI - Acquisition Entry in Asset

    Hi all,
I have a scenario where an asset has been capitalized with  WBS element 1. After several months we realized that it has to go to WBS element 2.
We update the Asset Master Data with a new WBS Element 2.
Depreciation from this date onwards is posted to WBS Element 2 (this is expected), but in FI the asset acquisition cost is still in WBS element 1.
Does anyone know how to rectify the FI document with correct WBS element i.e  WBS Element 2 via asset module.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
    Regards
    Pramod Saraswat

Aquasition postings and depreciation postings are 2 compleet different things in SAP.
You post an aquasition postings on a balance sheet account, as statistical information in the posting I think you give the WBS number.
When you change the WBS for the depreciation cost then from that date the depreciation costs is posted on WBS 2.   For SAP there is nor reason to change the WBS from the aquasition costs.
A WBS is not an organiasational unit in SAP like company code, profit center, BA.
For these objects you have to do a transfer,
ABUMN - Transfer within Company Code
    ABT1N - Intercompany Asset Transfer

  • Report: Statistical WBS elements with assets assigned to them - actual cost

    Hi all,
I would like to run a report that gave me this info:
    WBS Element (all statistical)
    Assets assigned to each WBS
    Actual costs
It would be perfect CJI3 but it doesn't show assets. In AM I haven't see either any report that shows WBS elements...
    any ideas???

    Hi
There is not a standard report which can cater to your requirements. You need to develop one.
You can take the refernece from CNS41 report for development. Some of the fields you need are PRPS-XSTAT for statistical WBS and will have to use tables ANLA and ANLC to fetch asset master data.

Thanks for your reply but this is not the question.
    The question is:
    Example:
I have 100 WBS Elements. Each of them has an average of 5 assets assigned. (what makes 500 assets)
I post lot of invoices in each asset.
I would like a report that tells me at once the total actual amount posted in each ASSET and group those costs by each WBS element.

  • WBS element on balance sheet accounts?

    Hello everybody
Is there anyway to assign the WBS element to a balance sheet account?
I don´t really need it to interact with the PS module, I just need to classify the accounts and receivable payables according to the WBS element.
I´ve already tried to modify the field status of the G/L accounts and the posting key, it didn´t work.
I´ll appreciate any ideas you can give me.
    Thanks!
    Rivendelian

I think you must assign account and /or cost centre in trx. ME21

  • FBL5N with WBS element

    Hi All
I would like to display line with WBS element number in FBL5N but wbs is not populating.
Eventhough the selection wbs option is available in layout but not populating since WBS asscociated with revenue account not customer.
WBS element is assigned to revenue account not to the customer.
Is that a way where i can view the report with customer and WBS element number
    Please advice
    Thanks
    Bali

    Dear,
It is difficult to populate WBS Element/Cost center in the Customer Line Item because of revenue determine no. of WBS elements to single Customer Line item.

  • Assiging wbs element as settlment receiver in service order settlement

    Hi PM CS Experts.
We are using scenarios of creation of service order from sales order. So whatever cost we incurred for service order settling to sales order via settlement rule - settlment receiver is Sales order i.e. SDI. We are using settlement profie XX which have default object type for settling SDI.   While releasing the service order the settlement rule created with settlement receiver is SDI.
Now for different business scenarios, we are settling service order cost to WBS. Now we want to create a settlemetn rule for WBS, settlement receiver will be WBS element,  while saving the service order.  What configuration, master data or processes we have to follow for this.
    please reply on this.
    regards
    abhay

Sales Order line item have account assignment WBS element. From this sales order line, a service order will be created.   So our idea is whatever cost booked to service order should be settled to wbs element instead of sales order.
also in location tab of service order, the wbs element from sales order is not inherrited in account assignment section.  Why this we are not knowing. Have you have any idea for this.
    regards

  • Vendor wise/Invoice wise consumption for each WBS element

Any standard report from SAP, which provide details of Vendor Purchase order / Contract, details of SES with WBS no. and details of Vendor invoice in columnar form.
SAP system can not generate standard reports giving vendor wise/Invoice wise consumption for each WBS element of particular asset.
Please help me to get this report.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi
Your starting point should be CJI3 report or any PS report... Here you get the FI Doc no
If this FI Doc No is generated from MM, check the Header segment of the document.. It would have MM Doc NO + Fisc Yr populated in the ref key... This gives you the link between FI & MM
From here on, you can take it forward... You can look up this doc no in MSEG Table and find the PO no... Then go to EKBE table for other PO details....

  • Can  WBS element be adopted as splitting characteristic for general GL

    Hello :
In our PS module implementation, the client requires that WBS element be picked up in the line item of account payable (vendor)  during logistic invoice verification.  Currently, we managed to post below document:
       Dr:    GR/IR   -  WBS1
                GR/IR  -   WBS2
                VAT
          Cr:  Account payable (vendor)
I am wondering whether WBS element can be selected as splitting characteristic for general GL? Therefore, WBS element can be posted for account payable.
As fas as I know, in IMG only three characteristics: Segment, profit center and business area are preferred as   splitting characteristic for general GL.  WBS element is regarded as splitting characteristic for Controlling.
Does anybody has experience on using  WBS element as  splitting characteristic for general GL?
    Cheers

    Hello,
You can add PS_PSP_PNR to the ledger scenarios with the transaction FAGL_GINS which intends to be used for updating the open item and sum tables of the New GL. after that PS_PSP_PNR can be defined as splitting criteria for controlling, but  can not be defined as splitting criteria  for general ledger.
The reason for this is that it cannot be guaranteed that such fields as PS_PSP_PNR are supplied with values on the account receivables/payables by the standard FI and integration processes. The settings as
zero balance or mandatory field can lead to errors in the system. Therefore we do not recommend the usage of such fields as split criteria for the general ledger.
While PS_PSP_PNR can be defined as split criteria for controlling, so the relevant lines are splitted on the Profit & Loss accounts which are relevant for the CO account assignments.
    With Best Regards,
    Gladys

  • Getting Billing Element in Purchase Order Using WBS element.

    Hi,
What is the process and logic to get the billing element and the corresponding Sales order details using the WBS element or network of the account assignment category in the Purchase order line item. Please suggest the tables to be used to fetch the Sales order details using this procedure.

Project PO can be generated in following methods.
1.When a Material attached to Activity in the Project, PR can be generated with A/C assignement Q. System wil copy the WBS element to which activity is assigned in the account assignment tab of PR. When PO is created with reference to PR, system wil automatically copy the  WBS from the PR in to PO account assignment tab.
    2. U can directly create PO with account assignment Q and assign WBS in account assignment tab.
