WCS - Laptops roaming and giving pop-up

All,
I have Aggressive Roam setup in our WCS network with 3 4402 controllers, and 1131 APs. When clients move from one AP to another windows gives them the little notification pop-up which kicks the person out of the program currently running. Is there anyway to work around this issue?

Hi, we have a similar setup here, but don't have this issue at all.
Are your controller in the same "mobility-group"?
That might be an issue.

    Yesterday, when I brought my laptop back from sleep, I tried to check my e-mail with the Mail app like I always do. But there was the lightning bolt sign next to the inbox, and the pop-up asked me to input my password, which didn't work. It says mail.mac.com has rejected my password. The password is correct (I'm able to check my e-mail through my browser at me.com), but for some reason Mail keeps on rejecting it. I usually don't have to input my password at all in Mail. Any clue how to fix this? I haven't changed anything at all on my laptop.

    I did change my apple ID password though...

  • Satellite P300 keeps crashing and giving me blue screens

    Hello,
    I got a Satellite P300, operating on Windows Vista home premium and its provided with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.
    My laptop keeps crashing and giving me blue screens and windows says its the cause ls my graphic driver and the eror message is Atikmdag.
    I tried everything (i think), i re-installes windows but this i had to do with making a recovery cd with the current settings because in some kinda way my F8 function doesn't work so i couldn't restore my Windows from my hard drive.
    I also got the latest Ati drivers, this doesn't help either, i also re-installed them and tried to run my laptop on the windows drivers, this doesn't help either.
    I really don't know what to do, can some one help me please?

    Are you sure that you are running video drivers downloaded from a Toshiba site? Unfortunately the drivers may not be the root of the problem so it is important to eliminate them as the cause. AMD's recommended driver removal procedure is at [http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx] and if you follow that with an installation of Toshiba drivers then your laptop should be in an as supplied state
    I'd recommend you look at this [How to troubleshoot Display driver stopped responding and has recovered, ATIKMDAG.sys type errors|http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-27116RadeonSeries-ATIKMDAGhasstoppedrespondingerrormessages.aspx]

  • Lagging, freezing and video pop ups

    I have recently notice a lot of lagging to my laptop, a lot of freezing where it says "not responding" then will finally load the page, and video pop ups that I am unable to find the location they are coming from. I have ran several virus programs and I am still having the issue.

    I experienced the same thing.
    (freezing website, not the video pop-up)
    Try an adblocker to get rid of those pop ups...
    In PaleMoon(a FF derivative) I didn't have stalled websites so far.

    I switched initially to get back the old, non Australis UI but it seems many websites are much more responsive than in FF.

  • PL/SQL and Google POP server

    Hi,
    With the help of Billy's code and a little editing of my own, I am able to retrieve the emails from the POP server with the attachments in correct format. Now I am trying to connect to the POP mail server located on one of our company's server.
    My code is as follows :
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION pop3 (
    username VARCHAR2,
    PASSWORD VARCHAR2,
    msgnum NUMBER
    RETURN tstrings PIPELINED
    IS
    pop3_server CONSTANT VARCHAR2 (100) := '192.168.0.3';
    pop3_port CONSTANT NUMBER := 995;
    pop3_ok CONSTANT VARCHAR2 (10) := '+OK';
    e_pop3_error EXCEPTION;
    socket UTL_TCP.connection;
    line VARCHAR2 (30000);
    BYTES INTEGER;
    -- send a POP3 command
    -- (we expect each command to respond with a +OK)
    FUNCTION writetopop (command VARCHAR2)
    RETURN VARCHAR2
    IS
    len INTEGER;
    resp VARCHAR2 (30000);
    BEGIN
    len := UTL_TCP.write_line (socket, command);
    UTL_TCP.FLUSH (socket);
    -- using a hack to check the popd response
    len := UTL_TCP.read_line (socket, resp);
    IF SUBSTR (resp, 1, 3) != pop3_ok
    THEN
    RAISE e_pop3_error;
    END IF;
    RETURN (resp);
    END;
    BEGIN
    PIPE ROW ('pop3:' || pop3_server || ' port:' || pop3_port);
    -- Just to make sure there are no previously opened connections
    UTL_TCP.close_all_connections;
    -- open a socket connection to the POP3 server
    socket :=
    UTL_TCP.open_connection (remote_host => pop3_server,
    remote_port => pop3_port,
    --tx_timeout => POP3_TIMEOUT,
    CHARSET => 'US7ASCII'
    -- read the server banner/response from the pop3 daemon

    -- authenticate with the POP3 server using the USER and PASS commands
    PIPE ROW ('USER ' || username);

    BYTES := UTL_TCP.available (socket);
    IF BYTES > 0
    THEN
    BYTES := UTL_TCP.read_line (socket, line);
    line := REPLACE (line, CHR (13) || CHR (10), '');
    -- WILL HAVE TO USE PLSQL FUNCTIONS (HAVE BOOKMARKED) TO GET THE MAIL
    -- IN THE PREFERRED FORMAT. CAN USE "REPLACE()"
              -- Checking end of email
    IF LENGTH (line) = 1 AND line = '.'
    THEN
    PIPE ROW ('*** END OF INTERNET MESSAGE BODY ***');
    ELSE
    PIPE ROW (line);
    END IF;
    END IF;
    EXIT WHEN LENGTH (line) = 1 AND line = '.';
    END LOOP;
    -- close connection
    PIPE ROW ('QUIT');
    PIPE ROW (writetopop ('QUIT'));
    UTL_TCP.close_connection (socket);
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN e_pop3_error
    THEN
    PIPE ROW ('There are no mails !');
    END;
    On running this code in the following manner :
    SQL> select * from table(pop3('[email protected]','my_passwd',1));
    I get the error msg as:
    ERROR:
    ORA-29260: network error: TNS:no listener
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_TCP", line 17
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_TCP", line 246
    ORA-06512: at "SCOTT.POP3", line 42
    I have checked my Microsoft Outlook settings and they are as follows :
    Incoming server (POP3) : 995
    This server requires Encrypted Connection(SSL).
    Outgoing server (SMTP) : 587
    Use the following type of encryted connection: TLS
    Can someone please provide me some solution to my problem.
    P.S. : 192.168.0.3 is the machine that is hosting Gmail POP3 server (pop.gmail.com). I have already tried giving "pop.gmail.com" for server name (pop3_server) in the above code. In that case it gives me error:
    ERROR:
    ORA-29259: end-of-input reached
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_TCP", line 116
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_TCP", line 310
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_TCP", line 380
    ORA-06512: at "SCOTT.POP3", line 49
    Also, when i telnet to pop.gmail.com, the command prompt goes blank and does not display anything that i type and in about 5 seconds shows the normal command prompt with default route. Whereas, telnet to 192.168.0.3 gives me error "Could not open connection to the host, on port 995: Connect failed".

    You need the last 11.2.0.2.0 DB. In that version utl_tcp.open_connection has two new parameters, wallet_path and wallet_password. You have to create a new Wallet using wallet manager and import the certificate from pop.gmail.com or whatever server you want to connect to using SSL.
    Then your code would be:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE pProcesarPOP3 IS
    lvcServidor CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := 'pop.gmail.com';
    lvcUsr CONSTANT VARCHAR2(100) := '<username>';
    lvcPwd CONSTANT VARCHAR2(100) := '<password>';
    lncPuerto CONSTANT PLS_INTEGER := 995;
    ltSocket utl_tcp.connection;
    BEGIN
    -- crea el socket hacia el servidor POP3
    ltSocket := utl_tcp.open_connection(lvcServidor, lncPuerto, NULL, NULL, 10000, 10000, 'US7ASCII', NULL, 5,
    'file:<wallet_path>', '<wallet_passwd>');
    -- SSL
    utl_tcp.secure_connection(ltSocket);
    -- bienvenida servidor
    lvLinea := utl_tcp.get_line(ltSocket);
    -- veriifica éxisto de la conexión
    IF (SUBSTR(lvLinea, 1, 3) != '+OK') THEN
    dbms_output.put_line('ERR: '||lvLinea);
    RETURN;

  • Why is Adobe crashing and giving me "script " error messages?

    Why is Adobe crashing and giving me "script" error messages?

    Let's see if we can get you the details you need here:
    I'm getting the same Action Script pop-up on WinXP Sp3 32-bit and Win7 Pro SP1 64-bit systems, both running Seamonkey 2.10.1 with the Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120615 Firefox/13.0.1 SeaMonkey/2.10.1, so this is the same browser as Firefox 13.0.1.
    The Action script pop-up has a Dismiss and Continue button and on WinXP clicking Dismiss seems to close the pop-up window and allow the Flash Player to work normally, at least for a while; clicking Continue results in repetitions of the Action Script pop-up - takes some time to come up again so not 100% sure on this behavior.  On Win7, the Action Script pop-up window does not respond to clicking either button, the browser appears to be hung and after a minute or so a message comes up in the Flash player box saying the Flash Player has crashed and to reload the page to retry.
    Here are the contents of the Action Script pop-up:
    I have experienced this on a couple of different sites, notably the Animated Map at weather.com which I get to through my Yahoo login.  Here's the URL, which may or may not work for you, since I get there through my Yahoo ID login:

    I hope this provides the necessary info to pursue this. Please let me know if you need more.
    I tacked this on to this thread since it seems relevant but if you want a fresh thread, please specify.

  • Safari is locking up and giving security warning

    Hi,
    On my macbook pro Late 2011, OS X 10.9.5, Safari is locking up and giving a pop-up message:
    " Safari - Alert
    Suspicious Activity Might Have been Detected.
    Major Security Issue
    To fix it please call Support for Apple
    +1 800-680-4131 (Toll Free) immediately!"
    What is this and how do I get rid of it.

    You may have installed the "Downlite" or "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
    Back up all data before making any changes.
    Besides the files listed in the support article, you may also need to remove this item in the same way:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
    One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
    If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
    The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
    This malware is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
    In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
    Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
              Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.

    I keep getting a pop up window labled Software Update saying, "To open 'MLBNexDefAutobahn,' you need a Java SE 6 runtime. Would you like to install one now?" I click on "Not Now" and it pops open again a second later.  It is not going away! Is this a Java virus? I just installed Maverick Wednesday and got a message yesterday on google that "Google would like to take over this computer"??? Please help.
    Thanks!

    This is not a virus, or any other kind of malware. Some third-party software that you have installed is repeatedly trying to open a Java process called MLBNexDefAutobahn. What that software might be, I don't know. What software do you have that this name might fit with?

Is there a way to get them off without deleting each one? Also how do i prevent this from happening again? can someone direct me to some info on multiple phones on one itunes i am lost.

    Hey there 79usma79!
    I have a couple of articles for you that can help you troubleshoot the issues you are seeing with iTunes on Windows XP. The first is a general troubleshooting article, which can be found right here:
    iTunes for Windows XP: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1421
    This article can help you find out if there are any conflicts between your copy of Windows XP and iTunes, and can tell you what to do if there are. Before going down the troubleshooting route though, you should take a look at this article, which can help you back up your entire iTunes library to an external hard drive, so if this issue is recurring, you will be able to restore from that backup and will not have to worry about losing your playlists or music again:
    iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Question regarding roaming and data usage

    I am currently out of my main country of service, and as such I have a question regarding roaming and data usage.
    I am told that the airplane mode is sufficient from keeping the phone off from roaming, but does this apply to any background data usage for applications and such?
    If the phone is in airplane mode, are all use of the phone including wifi and application use through the wifi outside of all extra charges from roaming?

    Ann154 wrote:
    If you are getting charged to use the wifi, then it is possible.  Otherwise no
    Just to elaborate here, Ann154 is referring to access charges for wifi, which is nothing to do with Verizon, so if you are using it in a plane, hotel, an internet cafe etc that charges for Wifi rather than being free .   Verizon does not charge you (or indeed know about!) wifi usage, or any other usage that is not on their cellular network (such as using a foreign SIM for example in global phones)  So these charges, if any, will not show up on the verizon bill app.  Having it in airplane mode prevents all cellular data traffic so you should be fine

    There must be a problem with the app store right now as a number of people seem to be having this problem right now.  Try purchasing it using iTunes on your computer, accept the terms and conditions there, then either sync it to your phone or download it on your phone as a past purchase (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

    Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
    Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with networks that require any kind of authentication other than a WPA or WPA2 Personal password.
    When the Mac OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the Mac OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac didn’t ship with Lion, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
    Don't install the Thunderbolt update -- it's defective.
