WDS bridge not working

Based on the documentation and this message:
Saxphile, "Use AX as an Ethernet bridge and a WDS relay simutaneously" #2, 03:39pm Oct 10, 2005 CDT
I should be able to use an AEX in WDS mode to connect an ethernet device to my WLAN, using the the AEX as a bridge.
It's not working here. All theWDS settings seem fine. I can stream to the AEX and use it extend my WLAN. If I plug an ethernet cable into it, however, no joy. My iBook says there's nothing plugged in.
Could my AEX be defective? Anything I can do to bebug? I bought it a few weeks ago, so it's under warranty.
I'm using WPA encryption.

1. Do a factory reset of your Airport Express to get it back into a known state per:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108044
2. Make sure your Powerbook, Airport Extreme Base Station, and Airport Express are all - for now - in the same room.
3. With your Powerbook connected to the wireless network of the Airport Extreme Base Station (prove it by making sure you have internet access) run the Airport Admin Utility. We are going to have you clean up some settings on it first:
- make sure the Base Station is running firmware version 5.5.1. If it is running 5.6, post another message.
- under the Airport tab, make sure you have NOT checked the box to "create a closed network"
- under the Access Control tab, remove ALL table entries
- under the WDS tab, remove all entries and uncheck all boxes
Then update settings to the Airport Base Station.
4. Make sure you have the Airport 4.1 update installed on your Mac:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airport41formacosx.html
5. Now run the Airport Setup Assistant. Use its guidance to configure the Airport Express as a new base station that "extends" the existing wireless network created by the Airport Extreme Base Station.

  • Bridge not working in Photoshop CC trial.

I had the same problem with Bridge in Photoshop CS6 on another computer, so brought a new computer and downloaded the trial. Bridge stopped working after about 2 hours.
I open bridge, select a photo, open in camera raw, make adjustments, then when I try to open image in either Photoshop CC or Elements 11 or 12 I get a message that Bridge has stopped working.

  • Photoshop CS5 Bridge not working

I have windows 7 and cannot get the Bridge from Photoshop CS5 to work this is a real problem as most of my photographs are taken in RAW and I can't see the picture in the folder
I have tried most of the answers to this problem from the forum. Launching from start menu and through Program Files doesn't work. Not sure how to change from 64 bit to 32 bit in Windows 7
Adobe if you read this why not solve a problem instead of just bringing out a new version and expecting us to purchase this?

You need to give more details.  Why does it not work - error message, crash, freeze, never worked, worked yesterday?
Does it work when launched as seperate program from Bridge icon?

  • Mini Bridge not working in CS5

I cannot get Mini Bridge to work in Photoshop CS5.  When I try to start it, the panel opens and the spinning symbol starts but I get the message "Waiting for Bridge CS5..." and it never makes it past that.  I have tried both with Bridge already open and Bridge closed, no difference. "Start Bridge at logon" is checked in preferences.   Any help will be appreciated.

  • JMS Bridge not Working

    Hi,
I have a weblogic 9.2 running one application.
I what that application to post messages on a internal JMS queue. That message gets fw to a Weblogic 8 JMS queue.
To achieve this I created a JMS Bridge with the Weblogic 8 destination, and the Weblogic 9 source.
When i activate the bridge, i did not see anything on the logs, so i restarted the server.
Once the server was Up I went to check how many consumers where register on my internal queue, and to my surprise there where none.
I posted a message to that queue and still nothing. not even on the logs.
On the source and destination, i put the following:
Adapter JNDI Name: the XA one
    Classpath: weblogic.jar
Connection URL: t3://172.16.76.28:8001 on the internal and t3://172.16.76.29:7001 on the external
    weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory: weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
and the JNDI stuff, user and password.
I do not see anything in the logs. Any idea?

I would like to make sure that I understand where you are now.
    1. The bridge is always running on 9.2.
    2. When the bridge is configured to forward messages from local (9.2) to remote (8.1), everything works.
    3. When the bridge is configured to forward messages from remote to local, you run into the SecurityException.
Is my understanding correct? Where did you see the Exception (on the 9.2 side or the 8.1 side)?
Are you always using the adapter from the same release as the server that is running the bridge?
Assuming that you have configured everything correctly, I don't see why remote-to-local case does not work for you. There was an issue similar to what you are seeing in 8.1 GA, which has been fixed in 8.1SP1 and 9.2. You should not see this issue as long as your bridge is running on 9.2 (or 8.1SP1) or later.
At this point you could try the following:
    1. Change the bridge to run in sync mode (by setting AsyncEnabled to false, the default is true) and see if the problem persists.
    2. Enable domain trust on both the 9.2 and 8.2 domains (see http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/bridge/wls_interop.html#wp1126213 for details).
    3. Run the bridge on 8.1 (using the 8.1 adapter) to forward messages to 9.2. (I know the doc recommends that one should run the bridge on the later version of WebLogic when forwarding between two different releases, but it does not hurt to try as long as your source destination is on the same release are the bridge).
    Thanks,
    Dongbo

  • Trying to do 6.3 raw update for CS5 through Bridge not working

Been trying to update 6.3 raw for CS5 through Bridge and a pop up window says I am not the administrator for my computer.  I sign in as the admin still does not work.  I have tried installing in manual mode no luck either.

If you are working on Windows OS, then try to run the patch executable in Admin mode using "RunAsAdministrator" option in the right click context menu.

  • 32-bit bridge not working in lion

OK, I know this is early days for me, given that I only upgraded to Lion today, but I've already come up against a significant problem relating to Logic ( 9.1.6 ) and the 32-bit AU bridge, which worked pefectly well for me in Snow Leopard. Sure, it crashed when the computer was idling: a well known issue. But it really did its job when actually required, whereas in Lion, it's simply ceased to work at all now, and I've reverted to 32 bit Logic, for the time being, which really defeats the whole object of even moving to Lion, despite the fact that I'm having to use some 32 bit plugins, etc.
I was working with Logic, 64-bit in SL and it was fine, and I enjoyed a marked improvement in memory performance. Right now, though, the whole experience is very disappointing. Before I level the blame at anyone/ anything , I just want to know if anyone else is experiencing,er, issues with Lion and the 32-bit bridge. When I first started Logic today, in Lion, it seemed fine. After a few hours, however, the bridge crashed and never recovered. Also, when launching Logic, the aunetreceive stage of the launch would hang around forever. That improved  (though still dwells on it for a long time ), but the 32-bit bridge has just stopped working.
Can anyone please shed any light on this? I really don't want to revert to SL now, though I backed everything up, so I could easily. I'm liking the look and feel of Lion and feel that Logic should be really sharp in this OS, but it's not feeling quite like that right now.
    Thanks for any advice.
OK, a big PS. I've just switched back to 64, and the bridge is now working. This doesn't instill confidence, frankly! Can I now ask if anyone is experiencing erratic performance/behaviour of the bridge?!

OK, so, I've had it with Lion. It's a great interface: I love it and I love the new functions, which should make the computer experience  so much more enjoyable. I'm totally behind this new interface. I'm sure, one day, it'll be wonderfully music-friendly, but, right now, it's ,as they say, PANTS.
Me? I'm going back to SL, in the warm and comfy knowledge that it'll work predictably, and greet me like an unconditionally affectionate puppy. Well, as predictable and affectionate as is possible in the world of 21st century operating systems.
Lion, however, reminds me of the bad old days of the first, tentative forays into OS X, after the idyllically safe and reliable world of OS 8/9.
I can see the motivation, here, of consolidating ios and OSX. In principle, I love that. For me, tablet OS is the future of interfaces. But as far as complex and diverse systems, such as music production, it ain't working right now....

  • Workstation Bridge not working when Updating from 10041 to 10049

I am using Workstation 11 on a Windows 8.1 Host
All works well including Bridge network connections
I loaded Windows tech Preview 10 version (before 10041)
All worked apart from the Bridged network connections when using VMware workstation 11
Then there was an update to 10041 and the bridged connection started to work but you could not access the physical network card on the host...some error
Then somewhere the new update version was installed on my machine to version 10049
Now I cannot configure bridge mode in my VMware workstation 11 it tells me there sre no un bridged host insdtsalled and when I look at the physical network card there are no protocols installed.
Looks like I will have to go back to windows 8.1 pity
When one thing is fixed another is broken

I too has the same issue and I apprently tried to revert to 10041 from 10049 and it did not work.
But I tried to these and it worked for me. I stopped all the VM's and in vmware networking removed all the adapters.
Then tried to run the vmware 11 (latest) setup again and when it asked to install I choose repair and it did repaired and reinstalled the networking and after that I tried to create new virtual adapter and it worked and vm can able to browse internet.

  • Guest ethernet bridging not working

Hi, I have the following setup:
    Host system:
    Windows Server 2008 R2 x64, Hyper-V installed
    Guest system:
    Windows Server 2008 R2 x64
    One virtual NIC
I want to install OpenVPN on the guest system. To do that, OpenVPN creates its own TAP adapter and requires a network bridge to an internet-facing NIC on the machine. This is what my network connections looks like:
The Network Bridge is just between the Hyper-V virtual "LAN Adapter" and the "OpenVPN Adapter". But with the bridge enabled, I have no network connectivity. That is, if I right-click and view "Status" of the bridge, it shows many packets sent,
but zero received. After some experimentation, I've found:
With both LAN and OpenVPN adapters added to the bridge, I have no network connectivity.
With just the LAN adapter added to the bridge and the OpenVPN adapter disabled, still no network connectivity.
If I remove the LAN Adapter from the bridge or if I delete the bridge, the LAN Adapter itself then correctly connects and I have network connectivity.
Does anybody have any idea what's going on?

I figured it out. Network bridges do not work by default in Hyper-V guests because the virtual NIC ("Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Network Adapter") doesn't automatically enter promiscuous mode when a bridge is created.
To fix this, run the following command in an elevated command prompt:
netsh bridge set adapter {number} forcecompatmode=enable

  • How can I get QoS over a WDS bridge to work on Cisco WAP551

I have two Cisco WAP551 devices bridging two physical locations wirelessly across the street from each other. This is replacing a much, much older wireless bridge that has been rock solid as far as reliability. The new bridge is functioning great, however voip quality has gone completely out the window over this bridge. I tried to set up some quality of service, but I am unsure how it works here. It seems either the QoS doesnt function on the WDS VAP, or the built in QoS queue for voice data is not picking up my voip systems data packets. It is an older 3com NBX phone system.
If i reconfigure the devices to talk over actual VAPs rather than the WDS system ("WorkGroup Bridge"), will this allow QoS to function? Since then each device would be a client rather than a WDS VAP connected to each other (that the QoS doesnt seem to trigger on??) Id rather not do this since WDS works so well and it is the recommended system (as far as i have read)

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • CS5 Extended Adobe Bridge Not Working

I am using CS5 Extended Adobe Photoshop Student and Teacher Edition. It was working properly not 'til I installed Check It Registry Cleaner this morning. When I started to work on certain pictures I took this afternoon, and I open Adobe Bridge so I can drag the photo on the main layer and use refine edge, I do not see the "+" while dragging the photo. In this regard, do I have to uninstall CS5 Extended Adobe Photoshop and re-install again. On another note, I turned off the computer and tried to see if it will work properly, but it will not drag the photo to the main layer so I can use refine edge. Your response in this regard is greatly appreciated.

  • Bridge Not Working

I'm going to try and make this as clear as possible because I'm not as smart as many of you so please bear with me.
I'm working with Adobe Bridge CS6 5.0.2.4 on my Mac OS X 10.9.2. A couple days ago when I opened it, the following message popped up.
I didn't really know what the central cache was but I assumed it was causing a problem (per the pop up message) so I did what it said and I cleared the central cache. I have a lot of RAW files on my computer so I figured that could have been the problem. I did this for all of the folders that I had been working in over the past several days.
After I did this, the preview for my images was gone. Now I have this. I realize that it does say "Building criteria..." but it just sits there and nothing happens for hours.
I searched through other forums and I tried some different things.
I tried this (also I tried it without the 100% previews):
I tried this (also tried this without the 100% previews):
(I saw that I was absolutely NOT supposed to press the "Purge Cache" button through preferences because it messes up your computer something fierce)
I also tried building and exporting the cache:
But I let it sit all night and nothing happened. It stayed at this screen:
I even tried downloading the Adobe Cleaner Tool (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) but all that did was remove Photoshop and Bridge from my Mac.
So I reinstalled the CS6 Creative Suite and I'm still having the exact same problems. I've updated everything (Camera Raw is version 8.4.0.199), I've tried restarting my computer, turning it off and waiting a couple hours and turning it back on, and I'm at a loss. It also keeps crashing.
I'm a photographer and I have several projects I need to continue working on so if any of you could help a sister out, I'd appreciate it.

I even tried downloading the Adobe Cleaner Tool
It seems to me the central cache file is corrupted or some or al your folder cache files that have exported or both.
Since you can't use it I would try to do a manual deleting (unfortunately even the CC clean tool does not remove the central cache file automatically.
    First quit Bridge.
You have 2 libraries on your system, 1 for the system itself (visible when you click the start up disk) and 1 for the user account that unfortunately is hidden by default per OSX 10.7). You can google for hidden library in OSX for a more permanent solution but for now just go to Finder and choose menu Go to reveal the drop down menu. With menu in view press option key and then Library will appear in the list, select it and choose column mode for view.
in this user library follow the path: Caches/Adobe/Bridge CS6. Inhere are 2 files called 'Adobe Bridge Plug-in Cache' and a folder called 'Cache'. Delete both folders outside the library folder (if needed spare them a little time but you can also place them in the trash for now).
In the same library is a folder called preferences. Inhere is a file called: 'com.adobe.bridge5.plist' for Bridge version 5 that comes with CS6. Also delete this file.
Then restart Bridge to recreate all delete files as new and empty ones with factory settings and try if it works now.
If the cache files in the folders are problematic test one folder, use menu view / show hidden files and find and delete two files called Bridge.Cache and Bridge.CacheT and try again. Could you report back?
