I'm running Leopard and whatever the latest iTunes is. Any help appreciated.

I've got an Apple ID problem, too. All of the sudden in the midnight between August 31st and September 1st, the new apps I picked up on the App Store hung forever 'Waiting..' in my iPhone and never turned 'Loading'. When a substantial amont of time had passed, they reported, they 'could not connect to the App Store' and .. disappeared! Well what they told was not perfectly true because I could however connect to the store as I could browse and pick the apps, but the apps just didn't load. I tried to log into my account in iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop, too, and there got exactly the message in the topic title.
It appeared later my Apple ID did not completely fail because when I switched from my home WiFi to the phone 3G, everything worked just as nothing happened. Logically, this intimated my WiFi had flaws. Or, some place between my WiFi router and Apple servers did, to be precise. My router was not to blame because I did no changes to it whatsoever.
All right, it is Saturday today and my ISP is running in unmanned mode meaning no hotline, but I call them on Monday unless the problem disappears by itself. I just wonder what I say, because from non-i-world point of view everything works well, and I know for sure guys in the ISP support don't own any i-stuff, (because they are all android fanatics) . I'm not telling them my Apple ID to let them reproduce the problem on their home equipment, which means I come almost totally proofless.

My connection is fine so why can I not purchase any songs?

    Howdy Johnny,
It sounds like you are not able to buy anything from the iTunes Store due to this error message. I recommend the troubelshooting in the following article named:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
If that does not resolve the issue I would use the more advanced article found here:

When I try to connect to the iTunes store or my iPhone apps folder I get the message "Could not complete your iTunes Store request. Network connection timed out."
I have been to iTunes help on this topic and have read many threads in the forum with similar error messages and tried every fix I could find with no result.
I am connected to the internet just fine. I do not have Norton on my computer. I am pasting the diagnostic report I got below. Apparently the problem has something to do with the secure connection. Any ideas anyone?

  • I keep getting "could not complete your iTunes  store request. the iTunes store is temporarily unavailable" at the tail end of trying to sync all my music to MATCH.

can someone please help with this? thank you!

Called iTunes support with the same problem this evening after renewing iMatch.  iTunes support connected me to Apple Support.  Helpful people everywhere, but no one seems to know how to fix the problem.  From what I am seeing above, there is a glitch in the most recent OS X Yosemite update that keeps iMatch from working correctly with iTunes.  I received a message that most of my podcast library is not available.  I didn't check on exactly how much music &/or podcasts were missing but about 40 % of my podcasts are still available.  Apple needs to make sure their software actually works with the rest of their software before they release updates!

Same problem. I can see the itunes store so not a problem with windows firewall. The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

    Hi All,
I had this problem today myself, and was frustrated repeatedly by the '4002' error.
I have literally just fixed the issue by doing the following steps:
1: Go to the 'Store' tab and select 'Turn Off iTunes Match'
2: Return to the 'Store' tab and select 'Update Genius'
3: Wait for this to complete succesfully, the return to the 'Store' tab once more and select 'Turn On iTunes Match'.
4: iTunes Match will now go through the motions and should succeed!
    I hope this helps

  • I keep getting the follow error messages when I try to sign into iTunes store or redeem a song code: We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection could not be established. There was an error in the iTunes store, please try again

I keep getting the following error messages on my Mac when I try to redeem a song code: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection could not be established. There was an error in the iTunes store, please try again later."  and then, "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50)."

    Hello, constance132.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that I could recommend when receiving error -50.
    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
    Windows Vista:
  \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows 7:
  \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows XP:
  \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading Digital Copies using Windows:
Use MSCONFIG (directions for Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7) to disable conflicting software.
If using MSCONFIG steps resolves the issue, you may want to use the System Configuration Utility to turn on the third-party System Services and Startup Items one at a time (restarting your computer after turning on the item or items) to identify which System Service or Startup Item is causing the conflict.
You can turn all of them back on by selecting the Normal Startup option under the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, but please note that this may cause the issue to reoccur.
If you are able to isolate the issue to a particular third-party software, you may wish to contact them to let them know of the conflict.

  • We could not complete your iTunes Store request.  The network connection could not be established.

After receiving the above response, an additional error is displayed.  We could not complete your iTunes Store request.  An unknown error occurred (-50). There was an error in the iTunes Store.  Please try again later.  I've received these responses for the past 3 hours.  I'm also getting an error on my iPhone (Cannot connect to iTunes Store).  Does anyone know what to do to resolve this issue?  Thanks.

Been having this trouble all evening. I use iTunes Match at work so I can leave my external hard drive at home. As a guitar teacher, I rely on it for work. It's mildly comforting to see that others are experiencing this issue and that it's not a problem with my Macbook Pro. I hope Apple fixes this soon!

When I try to open the home page in my Itunes I get the message "we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection is not be established.
