We're sorry, we cannot complete your request on the iTunes store at this time.

"We're sorry, we cannot complete your request on the iTunes store at this time." http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/7452/screenshot20110601at608.png <- what gives? One moment I'm downloading an iTunes movie rental and a bunch of music, the next second every completed download, attempted new purcase, and trying to start playing the partially downloaded movie resulted in this error.
I paused the downloads and restarted iTunes. Downloads and Rentals were gone in the sidebar and every single secure request to the iTunes store (trying to login, trying to check for available downloads, trying to buy anything else) results in this error. However the music that had sucessfully downloaded was present in my iTunes library. However nothing new shows in my 'Recently Added' playlist... weird.
I then tried restarting my router, ADSL modem, and my Mac. No good. I tried a different OSX user account. No good. I tried logging into the UK store (I'm usually in the NZ one) where I also have an account - no good, same error.
iTunes store pages load, but anything secure results in this error :-(
What has happened? One second all is well, the next all secure iTunes connections result in "We're sorry, we cannot complete your request on the iTunes store at this time."

I always try to download movies and TV shows in advance, although this is the first time in quite a while that I've had problems with it on Apple's end -- normally I'm just worried about my internet flaking out, which was happening pretty regularly for a while, or just slowing down way too much and taking hours to download anything.  It's a good approach when you can manage it as it eliminates the risk of this sort of thing messing up your whole night.  If you still have enough movie night left tonight though, you could try renting something from Amazon.  It's streaming rather than download, so it's vulnerable to inconsistencies in internet speed, and it tends not to be as good quality as iTunes video (at least in my experience), but at least you might still be able to get a movie in tonight.

I am getting the error "We're sorry we cannot complete your request on the iTunes store at this time. Please try again later." on both my iPhone and iTunes on my computer. What is wrong with iTunes? Is the server down or what? I need to download some things and update some apps...

I've been getting the same message for like an hour now.  Since everything was working fine a few hours ago, and nothing changed on my end before it stopped working, I'm guessing it's something on Apple's end.  They probably already know about it by now, and are hopefully working on fixing it, so there's probably not much we can do but wait for them to fix it.

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions at this time. You can try running the Network Diagnostics in iTunes:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3204
and post the results here. That may provide some clues that someone can use to diagnose the problem and offer suggestions.
    Regards.

How can I get this message when everything else about the iTunes store is up?

Is there a place to see if there is service or maintenance happening right now?  Haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store via Computer or Ipod for more than an hour?  I've seen other posts about this same issue with no resolution listed, is there a resolution to this?

Yeah it's been happening to me too. It might be ITunes maintenance time or something. I can't do anything right now. Heck, I can't even log out without getting that same message.

  • We're sorry, we cannot complete your request on the iTunes store...

For the whole day today, iTunes has been acting up on my computer and has been giving me messages like the on above when I try to access my account and when I try to create an account for my brother. Safari and the other applications are working well. Is this a fixable problem?

I own a mac mini and a couple of iPods, and was close to being ready to make the switch to only macs. This experience today with iTunes has resulted in my reading my support options, calling Apple, and even receiving a pitch for a "protection" program. Why would I buy a protection program because Apple didn't properly anticipate server problems? Why am I only allowed one support call for an iPod? Why is iTunes 7 such a piece of junk? Why is there no information available from Apple on why their customers cannot do business with them today? Why are customers expected to support and fix their own products? Why didn't Apple anticipate that on Christmas they would receive a higher number of server requests?
I do business with companies that want my money. Right now I am thinking about using my gift receipt to see if someone else wants it more than Apple. Just "good enough" is no longer good enough. I have to work too hard for my money to waste it on bad products with bad support.

This only seems to happen on my new computer Windows 8, 64 bit.  Any help please?

  • ITunes Error, "We're sorry we cannot complete your request..."

I am getting the error "We're sorry we cannot complete your request on the iTunes store at this time. Please try again later." on both my iPhone and iTunes on my computer. I know my password and my Apple ID are ok because I can log on to here. Are the servers down? I need to do updates and want to download some things.... Thanks for the help!

Exact same problem here. Might be coincidental, but it started after upgrading to 10.6.5. Strangely, I have two accounts and only one of them is showing the error. The other one logs in just fine.

  • Cannot complete your request because the scratch disks are full

When I attempt to crop a photo I get this message: Cannot complete your request because the scratch disks are full. In fact one scratch disk has 62+ GB and the other has 52+ GB available. Does anyone have a solution for this?

@Mylenium: My computer is running 64 bit Windows 7 Pro, 16 GB Ram, AMD Radeon 6900 series with I don't remember how many GB of ram (I installed it maybe 2 1/2 or 3 years ago). I have 4 physical hard drives with Raid 0 and Raid 5 configurations. I have been using my system full bore since I built it, and the entire configuration has been excellent for my processes until now. Is there any other specific information that you would need to have an idea of what the problem may be? Thanks.
@ JJMack: My scratch disk available volumes were wide open with 62 GB available (S: drive) and 52 GB available (O: drive). I'm puzzled because I have used this configuration on my computer for the past 2 1/2+ years with flawless function. I'm not new to setting up and configuring my computer, but I'm new to this odd error message.
