Web dynpro preview: NoSuchMethodError

Hello,
I am trying to deploy certain Web Dynpros contained in a portal business package for ESS (ess, pcui_gp). The System I am using is a Sneak Preview Java WAS 6.40, EP6.0, SP16. The deployment process as such seems to have worked correctly as the WD Content Admin shows me a complete list of all the packages under 'Deployed Content -> sap.com' with status 'green'.
However am facing the following problem when trying to run the preview of a package, say 'sap.com/pcui_gp~xssutils':
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

Unfortunately I am not yet familiar with Web Dynpro development, but I read that NoSuchMethod errors are usually due to version mismatchs. However the two packages in question - ess11p_4 and pcui_gp010p_1 - are the newest available and according to note 761266 they should fit to J2EE stacks with SP16 ?!
It'd be great if someone could share some insights on this.

The sca in question are ESS11P_4-10002965.sca and PCUIGP011_0-20000568.sca which according to note 761266 require SAP J2EE 6.40 SP15 + SAP ECC5.0 SP09 (min backend). I thought I met these requirements, but I am not sure anymore.
Can you tell me what (type of) information you need and how one systematically gets to this?

I've installed the same version.
After configuring the Netweaver Developer Studio (+ searching for the config) and trying to deploy a webdynpro application I was asked for an SDM password (which should be the default password from the install "abcd1234" unless you've changed it of course)
After entering it I was able to deploy it.
In other words can you check if your config settings in the Netweaver Developer Studio are correct? I cannot check now unfortunantly.

This error comes if the Web Dynpro iView don't have the Web Dynpro application name specified.

1. System - Sap-LocalSystem
2.Name Space - local/<your webdynpro project name>
3.Application name - <your webdynpro application name>
4. choose plain HTML option

Issue While printing / Previewing a Adobe form in Web Dynpro ABAP application

Dear All,
We have designed 4 different adobe forms using SFP transaction for 4 different countries in SAP system.
Every country have different terms and conditions and therefore we have placed static texts (Hardcoded text) with text in different styles. Some text is in bold, some in different font (Bold, Italic). Font and Paragraph settings of the text was done as per expected. All the forms have same font and paragraph settings.
When we Launch Web Dynpro ABAP application to open the form in Print preview or to take print, form is not getting displayed / printed as it is designed in SFP. But if you open the form in SFP, everything looks fine.
It is working fine for 3 different forms but problem with only 1 form.
Kindly guide what is the reason for this strange issue when previewed or taken print. It is very urgent.

Thanks for your responses.
We had identified the reason.
Customer has provided terms and conditions for all 4 countries in PDF document. Along with PDF, for 3 out of 4 countries customer has shared pre-prepared word document with pre aligned and justified terms and conditions as per expected outcome. We copied this text from word to Adobe form layout. It worked fine. For 1 country, customer have not shared terms and conditions in word document. Therefore we had copied text directly from adobe PDF document in to Form layout. Then this issue happened.
Solution for this issue is to, prepared a word document with expected alignment and justification of terms and conditions text . Then copied from word to adobe livecycle designer form layout. It worked fine.

Web Dynpro-layout preview-Error-IE cannot display-service in SICF activated

Hello,
By starting a view in web dynpro framework, i have the error in tab layout "page cannot be displayed" from IE.
Before i make the change in the DNS and system32/../etc, the layout was displayed, but the web dynpro application cannot be started.
Now after those configurations and activation of services in SICF, i can start the web application only with firefox and not internet exploer, and, that internet explorer is preconfigured for the layout preview, i recieve all times the eror "cannot display" when i start a view in the layout tab.
1. How can i change settings so that view can be displayed in layout after i actived the (hope the suitables i.e. view designer) services in SICF - Default_host...
2. Is it possible to change IE to firefox as main browser for layout tab.
Note: For virtual domain i
1. add dns "domain.com" in the DNS
2. add in system32/etc/host file to "127.0.0.1 localhost", "10.10.0.10 sysserv.domain.com"
3. and trough tr. rz10 in the instance profil input the icm/.... ....domain.com
Through this three steps i could get the web dynpro application started,
but from the other side, the layout preview do not display the view again
and just send error the message: "THIS PROGRAM CANNOT DISPLAY THE WEBPAGE"

Problem with Web Dynpro Theme in 2004s ABAP Sneak Preview

Working on the Web Dynpro for ABAP 2004s Sneak Preview
I encountered a problem in applying a web Dynpro theme
via the URL-parameter sap-cssurl.
I tried the following URL:
http://hostname:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/webdynproapp?sap-cssurl=http://hostname:8000/sap/public/bc/ur/nw5/themes/sap_hcb
But it didn't work ?!
Could anybody tell me what went wrong ?

Try this
1. Set all dynpro's to run with portal theme whether you run them inside/outside portal.
For this, run visual administrator -> server -> configuration adapter -> (change mode) -> webdynpro -> sap.com -> tcwddispwda -> Propertysheet.default
set the parameter sap.theme.default to your portal theme path: we've theme CustomerTheme (portal is nw04sr1 sp14) and theme url is as follow:
/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portaldesign.urdesigndata/themes/portal/CustomerTheme
2. call individual application with parameter to use portal theme as follow:
http://<portal hostname with domain>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/WD_Project/Applname?sap-cssurl=http://<portal hostname with domain>:<port>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/CompanyTheme

How to change web-dynpro layout in preview ?

hi there,
i have a big problem:
i want to hide fields from a web-dynpro-application. this is possible when i go to content admin, then open the iview with right click and PREVIEW. then with right mouse click + CTRL i get to the editor to hide field, change fields, etc...........
so far so good, BUT: i have a dynpro, which is displayed after approving absences in ESS.
i don't get to this dynpro as it is not possible for me to get to this dynpro, as i am (as admin) not a person who can approve such absences.
how can i change this dynpro, when it does not work with preview ?

You've TWO options to handle the default messages by WD framework:
1# OnAction Without Validation:
If you are using any onAction() event for your wdj form validation.. then open the Action method in Edit mode > Check the Without Validation check-box property > Save it. This would avoid calling the default validation messages that comes from Web Dynpro framework.
2# Dictionary Messages Property file:
Otherwise modify the messages_en.properties file part of SapDictionaryTypesRuntime.jar located in the server-side (this is usually part of com.sap.dictionary.runtime_2.0.0 plug-in at client-side [WDJ installed machine] system). And make sure you've a ORIGINAL copy of this property file.

Web Dynpro with Bapis using Miniwas 6.20 or Sneak Preview 6.40 ABAP

Does anyone know if I can I use a web Dynpro that uses BAPIs to connect to a Miniwas 6.20 like a Backend system?
I have the SLD configuration OK, I was able to create the Jco connection, but when I test the Metadata application with this Technical System (Miniwas 6.20) at the Content Administrator I get an error message: "Group PUBLIC not found" (I also tried with SPACE, like a Logon Group). I have the corresponding settings in the service file on Windows folder (sapmsBSP 3600) and the others settings too.
I think the problem is to try to define Logon Groups at this kind of R/3 system (Miniwas 6.20) ... It's possible to use Logon Group with Miniwas?
I want to know if somebody had tried to do this practice (Web Dynpro using BAPIS)against to Miniwas System.
Please I would like to get a yes or no answer

Hi,
You have to configure the PUBLIC logon group in SMLG transaction.
Once configured the SLD and JCO-Destinations in the WebDynpro Content Administrator, we had the same problem with METADATA_DIRECTORY JCO-Connection. When we tested it, we got an error related with the PUBLIC LOGON GROUP. This JCO destination is a metadata directory connection and use the SAP message server to connect to the PUBLIC logon group.
You can create the PUBLIC logon group easly with SMLG, but it is necesary to add a "Logon Favorite Storage" in "SMLG Transaction - Display control/status Area" called PUBLIC too.

After that, all JCO connections and the webdybpro application should run fine.

to my understanding - your problem has nothing to do with J2EE server configuration - your application is already deployed on the server and running (brings error though):
at com.sap.examples.welcome.wdp.InternalStartView.<init>(InternalStartView.java:43)
so your class is already called.
DC = Development Component, but if you created a "simple" WebDynpro project - you should read the hint as "are you sure your project is properly deployed?"
I got similar messages (see your quota about NoSuchMethodException - I'm not really sure I was getting NSME, but definitely "Failed to create delegate for view") in case a Java-type context attribute was not initialized (e.g. you create context attribute of type java.util.Properties, do not put any object there, and request the attribute value). Check if you properly initialize context attributes.
Another thing - I presume you're running DevStudio of the same version as your server. DevStudios of different versions generates different sources - there could be problems in run-time when out of synchronization.

At the same time if more users are deploying then you may such 'deployment aborted' errors check if there are more child instances for the J2EE engine.If not ask your basis administrator to create more child nodes to balance the load on the server instance.Also You can find out the server details at
"http:
<hostname:portnum>\index.html"select system configuration-you can get the details of the SDM and the j2ee engine from there.You need to have proper credentials to get the information from the above url.
Provide those details in the NWDS.

Help needed with Network UI (JNET) in WEB DYNPRO for JAVA

Hi all,
We are using Network UI element in our Web Dynpro Java. All is ok, but we have a problem with 'PRINT_PREVIEW' button. If you do click on this button, another window is open with a page preview, but always is shown the first XML loaded, in other words, if you load a XML and change it, print preview don´t show this changes.
There are some information about Network UI in SDN but nothing about our problem.
Can somebody help me?, we need show refresh data in print preview page.

Web Dynpro application crashes on startup

Hi all.
After upgrading EP from SP8 to SP13 I have the problem with calling any application in portal(for example, when I try to create new iview in portal content directory).
500 Internal Server Error

Yes, I tried redeploying the application.
When I call application as http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/<project>/<application> then everything is allright. The problem occures when I navigating to the application by means of portal(i.e. when I call iview with assigned WebDynpro app, created in portal content directory). Also the error occures when I trying to create new iview by means of standart portal dialog.

Hi,
I have developed a webdynpro application 'SalesOrderApplication' which calls a babi & displays result. This works fine when i call it from the webdynpro content admin. When i create a Sap Web dynpro Iview within portal and do preview the initial page shows up. If i do a search on this page it displays error saying
The Web Dynpro Application 'SalesOrderApplication' has expired. Please restart the application either with the refresh button or click the following link SalesOrderApplication.
The application status is showing "running" in the webdynpro content admin.

The problem is not with application state (started or not). The problem is session tracking.
Seems that your portal and wd cannot share HTTP session cookie, probably due to cross-domain deployment: portal runs on one mashine, wd on other. This way cookies issued by portal are not visible to wd.
